Dirty Player

Only one word can describe Sebastian “Bash” Fury…
DIRTY.
He’s dirty hot.
A dirty talker.
And a dirty player.
On the ice, he truly earns his nickname.
He bashes opponents without regard for the rules or safety.
Which is precisely why I can’t have him on my team.
As the first female head coach in the NHL, all eyes are on me, waiting for me to fail.
A man like Bash Fury is a liability who could ruin my career.
Even worse, he’ll destroy my willpower.
I should despise that cocky bastard.
But something about his swagger and quick smile make him irresistibly charming.
Despite my best efforts, things are heating up and the ice around my heart is starting to melt…
All because of this dirty player.

I would like to make it known right now that I am claiming Bash Fury - that’s right, you heard it here first. I am so freaking in love with that man, it’s not even funny!
Greer and Sebastian’s story was just perfection and I devoured it in just a couple of hours.
Bash is an ice hockey superstar, and BFF of Carter from PLAYBOY PILOT. Greer is the coach of his new team and the woman who will bring him to his knees - not without a fight, of course. And there’s plenty of those because they are both as stubborn AF!! I don’t want to give away anything else, but just want to encourage you to pick this one up as soon as it’s released!!
This is a fantastic addition to the CHC world, and one of my favourites of the series so far.

Great sports romance

Loved Bash..... He was the typical bad boy of hockey with super good looks, sexy as hell, rich and famous, this man has it all.
Greer is the first woman coach of the Ice Hockey team and Bash is the newest naughty boy to join her team. Hate/love at first sight (makes for some good first time sex). I loved the way these two got to know each other better, some funny moments and also some tender moments. A very enjoyable, sexy, steamy read.

DNF... Seriously, this heroine was all self praise n talk.. That's it.. Being a female head coach, if u wan ppl to tak u seriously, then hw wil tat hpn wen u can't even properly ream a new asshole to ur tardy star player? He left her speechless in d first instant.. She was oly stewin in anger n nt reamin him ... She was all talk but did not back it up with any action.. What's the use when u say ur strong but can't even stand up fr urself wen the first hot guy makes a pass at u? Bash was an asshole but there was atleast a small redeeming quality.. When he went to kiss Greer, he even gave her an out to back away, but she didn't take it.. Ur just setting a bad example of unprofessionalism to other females in ur position lady, when u succumb at the first pass.. This book was a Hard Pass... No.. Just no.. Toodles.. 👋

Sebastian "Bash" Fury... Holy shiitake mushrooms! He's infuriating, funny, sexy, and really really DIRTY!
******
Overall Rating: 5 talk dirty to me stars
Standalone: Yes
Steam: 5 dirty dirty dirty hockey player flames
Triggers: None
******

This guy has an ego bigger than the Grand Canyon.
He doesn't move from his position poised over the desk. "You know how it is, Coach...to be the best player on the team. To be the best of the best." Greer and Bash

Lord have mercy, we need a Bash Fury in real life. This man will set your ovaries on fire! He is hot, he has a mouth that will cause your panties to fall off, and he is built for sin.

Bash is also one of the best hockey players in the league....he just has one issue. He's a dirty player. For real...When one fight too many gets him kicked off his team and traded, Bash has to not only contend with a new team, but a new Coach...the first female NHL coach, Greer.

The chemistry between Greer and Bash is off the charts. Immediately both try to establish dominance. Greer as the Coach and Bash as the GOAT hockey player. The banter between the two just keeps warming things up...until it combusts

He places a hand on the wall of windows behind me. “Coach…” I lick my lips, and my focus narrows on his. “…I'm going to kiss you. If you want me to stop, I suggest you leave now.” Oh, my God. Yes. I should leave now. Good idea. The best idea. The one I should've had before I ever got in this position with Bash. Because now that we’re this close, now that I'm practically drowning in his scent, I can't seem to find the words to tell him to stop. I can't seem to find any words. Stringing syllables together to make words and words together to make sentences is suddenly too much for my brain to handle. Instead, I stand frozen in place with the gorgeous man who has been driving me absolutely insane since the day he walked onto my ice, staring at me like he wants to eat me alive. And God, do I want him to.

These two are perfect for each other. They push, they pull, they challenge and through it all they both grow. Lord my ovaries exploded so many times with these two! But Bash.... OMG

So here's what you will get with this book:
🏒 Dirty talking hot as hell hockey player
🏒 Strong independent woman that can put said hockey player in his place
🏒 Panty melting dirty talk
🏒 Witty banter
🏒 Interesting new take on sports romance
🏒 Two main characters that you will fall in love with
🏒 The potential for your reading device to spontaneously combust with your ovaries
🏒 A GREAT BOOK
Be prepared for cold showers and hot times with this dirty dirty player! And the ending...OMG what an ending!!!! Loved this book, Greer and Bash so HARD!

First … holy hot!
Second … holy HOT!
Third … HOLY HOT!!!

Listen, this story was incredible on all kinds of fronts. Bash and Greer are fighters. Their characters are tough. They fight for what they want and they each want to win! Sebastian Fury is about to get knocked down by Greer Waterson and it is glorious! There’s gonna be a lot of fighting over Sebastian BASH Fury in Romancelandia! #betme lol

This story was super passionate and full of emotion. It held my attention from beginning to end. I could not get enough of their feistiness! Such a great plot that unfolded beautifully! SO DARN SEXY! ALL OF IT!!

Gwyn McNamee was a new-to-me author with this story and she impressed me so much, I’ve just downloaded an entire series of her books! HAPPY READING!

Absolutely loved this book. Wonderful and strong characters. Of course you know Bash Fury is an arrogant cocky bastard but you just can't help but fall in love with him. Greer is a strong independent woman but still a woman that can't help falling for Bash.
I highly recommend this book.
I read an advanced copy of Dirty Player.

Gwyn McNamee is a new author to me and after reading Dirty Player I’m left wondering why I haven’t read any of her other books, that’s about to change because as soon as time permits I’m going to search out her previous works. I love hockey romance so as soon as I read the blurb this book was always going to be on my radar and let me tell you this book was everything I expected and want in a 5 star read, it’s a story that ticked all my boxes and I highly recommend it to all romance lovers.
The NHL is a male dominated sport so Greer being the first woman head coach carries a lot of weight on her shoulders, she is the future role model for woman who want to make it in the NFL and she also needs her rookie team to succeed so what she can’t do is fall around or fall for one of her players......
Bash is the star player of the Scorpions and like all stars he is cocky and full of himself but when his head coach catches his eye he knows he needs to fall in line if he will ever have a chance with Greer.
Two professionals at the top of their careers could be risking everything if they cross that line, will love make or break them.....
I loved everything about this book, I laughed, I swooned and I sighed a lot as I join Greer and Bash on their romantic journey. The banter and the romance were a perfect mix abd this couple certainly kept me on the edge of my seat as I wondered will he win the girl or will she walk away. A great read that I highly recommend to all sports lovers as well as romance lovers.

There is no doubting that Bash is a skilled player both on and off the ice but sometimes that isn’t enough. His current team has had enough of his antics and have decided that despite his talent he is a man they don’t want on their team so when Bash is traded he knows that changes need to be made but that is easier said than done.

Greer knows that the team needs to be successful otherwise all the people that said a woman coach is a bad idea will be very quick with their “I told you so” and it will not enjoy hurt the career she is trying to build but make the path that much harder for other woman trying to enter the field. She knows that Bash is up to the task physically but mentally is another matter and she is determined to bring him around to her way of thinking. Let the battle begin!

Their interactions are entertaining, the chemistry hot and the way that they challenge each other makes them a perfect match.

Dirty Player hooked me from the first page, ensuring I was happy to devour this one in a single sitting. Even though I found this one to be a bit repetitive at times, it more than had me hooked.

I love a good sports romance, and this one gave me all the goodness I love so much about such stories. The characters were wonderful, their chemistry was amazing, and the storyline kept me turning the pages. The more I read, the deeper in love I fell. Add in the fact the way things came together in the end were not what I expected, and I adored this one.

Without a doubt, this was a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club.

I did like this book although in the middle it seemed to drag a little put picked up again thankfully, the sexual chemistry between the characters was hot, I just didn't feel any other type of chemistry from them but I did like the push and pull between them. The only thing I didn't like was when he took his date to a private pole dancer, just seemed a little out of place for some reason. All over it was a good read.

3-3.5 🌟 due to some inconsistencies. (See below)

First off, for the second book in a row I was duped. (Not by same author or the same way, but still. It stings)

I DO NOT read books that take place in Las Vegas. I have (and will) make exceptions, for my top 5 authors. Only ONE has written a Vegas book. This author is new to me.

Reason, you ask? I live in Las Vegas. And EVERYONE depicts it wrong, I swear. There is a huge difference living here, versus the tourist view. So it's kind of a trigger for me (weird, I know, ok?!).

I am a big reader of spoilers, and I ALWAYS read reviews as well as blurb, before diving in to a book....but somehow this managed to get one over on me. But, despite that, I am reviewing the book without my preferences playing a part.....

So "Bash" is newly traded to the NHL expansion team in Vegas, the "Scorpions" aka The Golden Knights (VGK). (Which I would like to just say that his #71 is my fav VGK manhunk of William Karlsson, and he was totally described as him, yet he acts like Ryan Reaves on the ice 😍)

A big problem I had with this book is that it focused so much on their "work" rather then relationship, yet even that wasn't the best. I mean we're told that he is a "1st line" player, but yet never really told his official position on team. Center? Right wing? Left wing?

We also don't really get any team dynamics....uhhh ok?

But both of them (Bash and Greer) are willing to choose their work over each other? Why? We didn't see (or were we told) why their job means so much (Other then the obvious mmmk?!).

Which leads me to the inconsistencies:

1. Bash pushed and pushed and pushed for a relationship and said it was worth the stress and possibly being caught.... Yet the second they get caught...poof... He's out. ✌✌✌ he's all about the game and money over her. AND... because of a scene earlier in the book with a kids league and how Greer loved being around kids that "loved" to play and did it for fun rather than work, I TOTALLY expected her to resign and like coach a kids league or something, but 🤷🤷🤷

2. This is more of an editing/typo issue. So the first game Bash plays with the "Scorpions" they are playing an away game against the Whales. Or wait. It's the Stingrays. Nope. Definitely the Whales. Noooo, wrong again. Stingrays. I had to read this scene twice to make sure I wasn't losing it. In the end, it was the Whales. Because after the "event" in this scene Greer is worried about how the team needs to find a way to prep against their big game against the Stingrays (biggest rival, read SJ Sharks 😂) in 2 weeks.... It was exhausting trying to figure it out.

3. What happened with Stephen??!!!

4. This inconsistency while minor irritated the actual F out of me. Which I then got MORE irritated when I read about the author and found that she also LIVES IN LAS VEGAS!!!!!! (Which is cool, because my gal Penelope Douglas does too!! We're cool here!!)

Anyway...on to the issue. So in the epilogue (ugghhh...more on that below) the Scorpions have made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs (VGK for the 2020 QUARANTINE CUP YO!) and there is a mention of the crowd of 40,000 going wild. Soooooo. Heres the thing. T-Mobile Arena only holds like 18,000. Little more with standing room only. The games ALWAYS sell out and are around 18,500 on big games (against the Sharks😂, playoffs, etc)

T-Mobile Arena is NEW!! One of the biggest. "Arenas" do NOT hold 40,000. I mean here in Vegas it would be nice because then maybe ticket prices wouldn't be atrocious like they are, but only "Stadium Series" hockey games played in football stadiums hold that many.

I am all for artistic liberties or privilege when it holds an actual purpose. But there was NO REASON to say 40,000 in this instance. The number posed no purpose once so ever. I guess to make it seem more loud and exciting when they cheered? But anyone who has gone to a VGK game, or any NHL player that has played there can tell you how crazy the ~20,000 people crowd gets. It's always said to be the loudest when it comes to the fans and atmosphere. So why inflate that with fallacies?

DO YOU SEE WHY I CAN'T READ VEGAS BOOKS NOW???!!! 😭 I hate this misrepresentation, even though I KNOW I am nitpicking.

Anyway. The epilogue. 🙄. It takes place 3 years after the last chapter. And focuses on 😳😳😳 Greers job!! Go figure. So it's the 7th game in the Stanley Cup final. Down to the wire. Bash is in the stands with their 2 or 3 year old daughter....uhhh. What?! 🤷 and that's it. Game scene and then ✌✌✌

Dirty Player is my first book by author Gwyn McNamee and is her contribution to the Cocky Hero collection. All books in the collection can be read as standalones.

Bash Fury is a hockey phenom and is quite aptly named as he's an uncontrolled fury on the ice. He's racked up plenty of dirty hits and more time warming the penalty box than any other player out there. After multiple suspensions, he's being traded to an expansion team with...a female head coach! She might be a badass Olympic hockey star in her own right but no one is going to change his game, not even the super hot Greer Waterson.

Greer Waterson loves the game of hockey. She's been in love with the game forever having even earned medals in the Olympics. She's the first female coach in the NHL and she's got a lot to prove, especially to the bad boy of hockey she just acquired through a trade. Bash is trouble with a capital T and unfortunately not just to her team. He's a force on the ice, a guy with a massive ego and chip on his shoulder and hell on her libido. Despite making her livid with his narcissism and arrogance, he also sets the normally reserved coach on fire. But getting involved with a player is career suicide, especially for the only female coach in the league. Will she risk it all for a chance at love or will the chance at hockey's biggest honor will out?

I love hockey romances because it's my favorite game but also because the guys are fire and ice! At first I seriously disliked Bash, not just for his recklessness on the ice but for the way he treated Greer but over time I came to enjoy him more. I never fully fell in love until after 3 chapters from the end though. I really enjoyed Greer and the side characters but I gotta say I can't see a woman giving in that easily with all that Greer had on the line. While she did wrestle with the decision afterwards, I just felt it came a little too easily in the beginning. Other than that I really enjoyed the book and it's another solid entry in the Cocky Hero club!

I love great hockey romances and Dirty Player is just that a great hockey romance it has enough sizzling heat that it nearly made my kindle catch on fire! My first read of a Gwyn McNAmee books but it won't be my last!

In a sport where men dominate it was never going to be easy when two head strong people had a lot to proof. For Head Coach of the Scorpions Greer being the first woman coach she had a lot to proof with this rookie team; Greer who has come from Olympic glory as well helping coach the mens Olympic team; she is no stranger to the fact that she has be clear and focused in her job or she will loss this one chance to proof that she has what it takes to lead a team.

For Star Player Bash this is his last chance to proof himself traded to the Scorpions after another epic fight on the ice if he doesn't get his act sorted out and his temper under control this could be the end of his career.

Two people who need to focus but from the moment Greer and Bash meet the sparks flow. I wish I could say in a good way but with Bashes cocky attitude believing that as now the star of the team the coach will fall in line and Greer needing to show her players she is in charge and she won't let a cocky player who can't keep his temper in check ruin her chances of taking the club to its first Stanley Club no matter how sexy and hot he is Bash is still a dirty player what she wasnt expecting was for him to be so dirty of the ice!

Bash knows he needs to keep his temper in check but he just doesn't know how it - everyone assumes that as the son of a hall of fame NFL player life is good - but growing up with a father that was never there was not easy for Bash. But the more time he spends with Greer the more the sparks fly and he can't get the feisty coach out of his mind.

Both at the top of their careers; both have something to proof; both knowing if they start something together it could mean the end of one of the both careers!

Someone call the fire department because this book is on fire! Wow, just wow, talk about a hot and heavy, forbidden workplace, hockey and sexy times filled read.
Bash Fury is a bad, bad boy, he is off the charts hot, sexy as sin, and a hockey playing God - everything that I look for in a book boyfriend!
Greer is a highly ambitious, smart, sexy, hockey olympian, turned Head Coach - the first and only female in the league.
Both get the shock of a lifetime when the hot AF chemistry between them cannot be contained. The sex is hot, the emotions are high and the risk enormous but there’s no stopping them. I loved how they each brought out the best in the other and was sitting on the edge of my seat watching everything unfold and play out. Never have I ever wanted a book couple to get their happily ever after as much as these two and man, oh man, it was worth every minute I spent reading this little gem. TBR and enjoy the hotness that is the Coach and the Player.

The guy takes the girl to a strip club … so she can relax. Had 2 girl to dance for her while he fingers her.

In any moment in the book before this scene I got the idea that she was ok with this.

Also There are not much dynamic between them to know there care for each other. Few bantering and sex , couldn’t see where there fall for each other.

He claims he admires her, from when she used to play hockey and that she is a woman in a men sport world. But he doesn’t fuck respect her as his coach!

She is also not a strong character. Let the guy do whatever he wants without out much a fight.

I fell in love with Bash even with his arrogance but I absolutely loved Greer. I love that she is the first female NHL coach and doesn't mince words. She is strong and has had to work harder than most to be where she is at. Bash throws a wrench in her plans and what a story it told. They are both stubborn and fire and explosive, That chemistry is what made this story.

Greer and Bash are HOT HOT HOT together. I love the premise of this story, with Greer being the first female hockey coach, and Bash, mister dirty player himself, joining the team. They both have big personalities that could lead to a crash and burn, or could result in something really good. But to get there would require taking some pretty major chances, ones that if they fail could go really bad! I loved this story and recommend it!

Cocky and beautiful!

This story has amazingly captivating characters and a riveting storyline. I really enjoyed Greer’s hard as nails attitude in a male dominated industry. But it was great to see Sebastien “Bash” right through to Greer’s heart. They have undeniable chemistry that is HOT, HOT, HOT.

Dirty Player has us taking a trip into Playboy Pilot territory and loving every minute of it. Bash is the bad boy of hockey with a huge reputation and an even bigger attitude. Greer is the female coach with a lot to prove in a male dominated world. The chemistry and tension between these two is electric from the very start. A story that will have you on the edge of your seat as these two fight not only their feelings but what is right and wrong for their careers. Dirty Player was not only sensual, flirty and passionate but was also packed with emotions. Bash and Greer’s story had me glued to the pages and not even sleep could tear me away from this couple.

Dirty Player is my first read by this author. I didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I did as I’m not keen on stories about sport.

Bash Fury is a hot sexy hockey player. Greer is the first female coach in NHL and she’s fought hard to get where she is. The chemistry is off the charts hot between these two.

I’ll definitely be looking to read more from this author in the future.

Bash and Greer!! Their story is one that will bring you to tears and fill you with hope! They are total opposites but both trying to prove their worth! When their tension rises to something more both face losing everything and have to decide what in life are they willing to sacrifice!

I loved how Greer is a total bad a$$! She’s a woman trying to make a place in a mans world and she’s not backing down from anything, especially the broody bad boy of hockey! Bash was a total surprise! He’s a mans man, tough and volatile, but that’s not who he is deep down! There’s more to him and when he allows Greer a Glimpse into who he is she realizes that the bad boy isn’t so bad after all! Now to just keep her heart intact and feelings at bay!

Gwyn packs this story with amazing heat, funny banter, and amazing surprises that will have you wanting this story to never end! I can’t wait to see what she has planned next in this world because I defiantly want more!

This book didn’t work for me

The heroine innner monologue was repetitive and she had no willpower. She was putty in the H hands after one conversation .

The H had no regard towards the heroine feelings, he kept pushing her when she was risking her job and he KNEW the consequences. I also felt like he had anger issues . He got better halfway through the book and i like what he did for her in the end

Her best friend also irked me , constantly pushing Greer telling her that she needed to leave a little and then saying stuff like “ at one point you will have to choose between your career and him” i mean WHAT??? . They grew up together and she witnessed how hard it was for her to be a female coach in a male dominated sport 🤦🏽‍♀️

I did not enjoy this. It was so bland and repetitive. The author tried to present the FMC as strong, a woman in sports in a man’s world and she became putty in Bash’s hands from day one. She didn’t have a strong backbone and I don’t care how HOT a guy is if his attitude is disgusting and volatile why would you want to fall in bed with him. He definitely did not respect her as his coach no matter what bullshit excuses he said of watching her from when she played women nhl.

Bash was cocky and too much for his own good. All I got from this is he made a move for his coach, he knew he would get her and in the end had to give up his career for LOVE 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I skimmed majority of this because truly it was boring, I couldn’t stand the h monologues and the epilogue left a lot to be desired.
