    Layover Lover was a wonderful second chance tale, and a perfect read to get me through the iso-blues.

    Zack and Jolene (♯ Jolene, Jolene Joleeeeene - sorry, had to do that) are a couple that the universe is trying to tell them that they need to be together, yet they have to fight for their second chance.

    The fates intervene and they are back in each others worlds after a decade their hearts are back, wildly beating for each other

    I liked that there was nothing too OTT about their getting back together. Their is spark and attraction out the wazoo, yet even though they have their issues and differences, in the end the act like adults, no matter how painful things are at times.

    One thing though - I was jealous that our lovelies got to go on trip - I had to cancel my trip for later in the year, and that bummed me out a bit lol.

    Layover Lover left me with a smile on my face - something that I need these days

    Layover Lover is a second chance romance based in the Cocky Hero World of the Playboy Pilot. Zach and Jolene have been apart for ten years, but one Uber ride and fate on their side has these two finally confronting their pasts. A story of heartbreak, revelations and ultimately understanding. A story that has enough angst to have you on the edge of your seat and enough passion to have your emotions twisting and turning. It is steamy, heartfelt and captivating. A story that shows you that our lives may sometimes take a detour but the end destination will always be certain. These characters will have you falling right along with them as life, love and futures finally get cleared for landing. This story also deserves a bonus point for such a fulfilling epilogue that gives you complete closure.

    Jolene has been though more heartache than one person could begin to imagine, running from herself and those she cares about because the truth is too much to handle. Zack was left in her dust, he is the strength that allows for acceptance. This story is breathtakingly beautiful, it's an adventure that made me quickly keep flipping the pages as I devoured every word. Jeannine did a brilliant job creating their story, the first book I've had the pleasure of reading, not the last.

    I gotta be honest, when I first started the book I REALLY REALLY didn't want to like the heroine Jolene. I mean what kind if selfish person just runs away from their high-school sweetheart after he finds out his father has Parkinson? Who does that! So I went into it thinking she was the villain and I was going to detest her. Boy was I wrong. This book has gave me a little anxiety at the beginning. Trying to figure out what about her leaving made her hurt so bad, what his secret was and why she left in the first place. I almost stopped reading the book and man would that have been a mistake. I kept with it because I knew what the authors have in then.
    Right off the bat I liked Zach, he was a character I could get behind in righteous anger over how the love of his life left him. Only when we really started getting into the story did I understand how complex the past was. How hurt and young Jo was. Zach was heartbroken yes but he had his family, his son, his purpose. By the end of the book I felt sad for Jo. Yes she had been living her dream but I don't know that she was recalling living. More like existing. The ending was perfect. It took them 10 years to get to their happily ever after and I'm so glad they did!

I loved the dual POV so you could deeply feel what each of them felt 10 years ago and the uphill battle they will will have to climb to find their happiness. A true free spirit heroine and a deeply set in his roots hero is a story so unique and gives hope that love can conquer all.
