RULES RULES RULES!

Stand-alone.
Release: September 12, 2018
Blurb:
One Rule: No More Men.
Two years ago I walked away from a marriage I thought would last forever and all I got from it was Dick …
and I don’t mean the one between my stupid ex’s legs.
I’m talking about the one-hundred-sixty pound furry kind said ex dropped off at my doorstep.
But I’d take Dick over any man, any day.
So why did I resemble my dog, panting and drooling, whenever I ran into Hudson West, my sexy neighbor?
True, the gorgeous veterinarian was hotter than sin.
And my new roommate only made it impossible for me to avoid conversation with a man I didn’t need.
Until … some asshole decided to run Dick down.
And it was hotter than hell Hudson who came to his rescue.
Then it became impossible to ignore him.
It was only supposed to be a fling, a quickie, a one and done, I’d given into.
We both had reasons to keep it that way … my one rule and his five-year-old son.
Except things didn’t quite work out that way.
One turned into two, then three, annnnd you get the picture.
Before we knew it, he gave me a lot more than puppies and fairy tales.
I was in way too deep.
And that stupid rule?
I should’ve stuck to it because now more than my heart was at risk.

Definitely this is an ice to flames book.

I loved it as it was hot, and I hated it as it was somewhat cold. I love this author and I’ve adored her writing. However this book just was okay for me. I did enjoy it, I did, I wish we could have got more to some of the areas. I'm a animal lover so I throughly enjoyed the dogs❤️

These characters, Hudson & Milly, I could love these characters hard. We get an insight to this book by the blurb, it’s a ride indeed. Both these characters have sad circumstances surrounding their past relationships. It definitely forms bitter feels in regards to future relationships, so neither one is looking for anyone and definitely not a relationship. So when things “just” happen how does this couple move forward without unintentionally hurting one another? In all honesty, I loved the ending, it was a pleasant surprise for me and one I loved this couple getting.

I would most definitely recommend this story. It’s a story about second chances, a second chance at love, at life, and at happiness. It’s about finding your “one” and grabbing and holding on to each other.

No stars, what did I just read?

First, the heroine (who was divorced from her husband by the start of the story)freely admits to trying to solve her relationship problems by having a baby with her ex husband. He didn’t want to have kids, so she just stopped taking her BC pills (without telling her ex) and let god take the wheel. Then, when he was upset by her pregnancy, she acts like it’s him who was somehow in the wrong. It later comes out that he had been cheating on her… so that makes what she did ok??? She miscarried late in her pregnancy, so she’s made into even more of a victim. What the fuck is this nonsense and how does the author just skate over reproductive coercion without a second thought? The ex is made into this monster for cheating and not trying to make their relationship work. Her actions aren’t even questioned!!

Then, we find out that the hero’s ex wife got pregnant because she also stopped taking her BC. Why would the hero choose to be with a woman who did the same thing?

Finally, the heroine “forgets” to take her pills for weeks (after telling the hero that they were safe and she’s on the pill). She ofc gets pregnant and hero explodes on her. The things he says are very cruel. But tbh? I didn’t blame him much. She was 100% in the wrong. As a reaction to his anger, she runs away and doesn’t look back. It takes him many months to track her back down - when she is ready to pop with their twins. She didn’t even try to contact him, or his kid (who she supposedly cared about), she just left. And when he finds her, he asks her to marry him and they lived HEA. 🤪🤪🤪

I’m sorry, but does this author think her readers are dumb or something? How is this romance?

Idk how to classify this, I guess it’s technically safe, but stupid af. Both divorced, hero has a kid with ex wife but she’s out of the picture, no OM drama, no cheating, no scenes with OM/OW, some brief OW drama with ex wife and another OW. All is stupid. Don’t read this, your brain cells will thank you.

I've really enjoyed From Ice To Flames.
The characters (humans, little humans, dogs and puppies),the slow burn, the angst, the fun and the smooth words made of this a very good read.

Hudson and Milly have suffered a broken heart in their past weddings so they are reluctant to start any type of relationships and them being neighbours make it even more difficult and weird.
Will they surrender to their fate and give love a second chance?
I rooted for them from start to end,I loved their easy banters.

I can’t wait to read the last brother's story thanks to the little bomb the author threw at the end of this one.

That cover was the bait. I mean who can deny that a cover with a half nekkid man and cute puppy doesn’t make them all kinds of melty? And then the synopsis was the hook because I do love me a single dad romance and this one had it all. It was funny, sweet, swoon worthy, adorable, smexy and just enough drama to keep me turning the pages to find out what would happen next and want more when everything was said and done.

I loved Milly and Hudson. Milly is sweet, strong, a little quirky and despite going through something that would shatter anyone, she’s found a way to pick herself up and move forward. And though she has walls surrounding her heart, she hasn’t turned cynical. Hudson is a good man and a great father. His love for Wiley, his son, made me all kinds of melty. He has his faults, which tend to give him ‘insert foot in mouth’ disease, but outside of that, it was hard not to love the man.

Milly and Hudson’s journey was a fun one, despite the demons that plague them. Outside of a few awkward moments, I loved how their relationship evolved as the book progressed. It felt organic as they kept colliding for one reason or another. Dick and Wiley definitely pushed things along with their antics (which were adorable and had me chuckling throughout the story) but they only helped to get the two adults into each other’s orbits and find that there was more than just a physical attraction between them. And as for that huge roadblock in their journey, it was HUGE and heartbreaking. I flip flopped on whose team I was on, and I did fall on one side more than the other, but in the end I loved how it all got resolved and where Milly and Hudson ended up.

I really enjoyed this read, and outside of a few little issues, some heartbreaking moments and that huge roadblock, it was a sweet, fun and adorable read and I will readily admit that Wiley and Dick factored heavily in my rating of the story because they played such huge roles in everything that happened. But outside of those two, I loved both of their families and wouldn’t mind being adopted by either. Catching up with Gray and Marin and their brood was a lot of fun and as for Pearson...well, after that ending, I kinda need his book like...oh...yesterday?? But since that’s impossible I will be keeping an eye out for when it drops!

I anticipated this books for weeks!

Cute dog, a vet hero, adorable kid, mature heroine. All was as promised, but the things he said to her, when she revealed her 'surprise' and how they made her beg for forgiveness at the end 🙄, ruined the story for me. She even left her dog behind, when she fled...

Sweet HEA, but I couldn't get over above mentioned things.

Hudson West, aka hot neighbor aka “McLuscious”. Milly Fremont, adorable and Big Dick’s mom. Hudson is a much sought-after veterinarian and Milly is a hard-working fundraiser.

With unintentional help from Hudson’s son Wiley, Hudson and Milly become friends. Until everything comes to a head at a big fundraiser that Milly had been working very hard on. Little did she know that Hudson was going to be participating in the “Bachelor” auction later that evening. But when Hudson begs her to bid on him, especially after a scorching hot lip lock, she can’t say no to his request. Nor do either of them say “no” later that night when things heat up between them. Together, they agree to a “friend’s with benefits” agreement.

But it’s a scary accident that lands Big Dick in Hudson’s veterinarian practice and under his care. Between Big Dick’s recovery, sketchy behavior by one of Hudson’s employees and growing feelings between Hudson & Milly, things get intense, fast.

So what happens when Hudson’s ex shows up unexpectedly and Milly finds out some shocking news? Will these two be able to stay strong together? Or will the cracks that to show break them apart forever?

A.M. Hargrove is a master storyteller. She is able to combine the human experience with the earthy timbre of a romantic escapade with a hint of humor.

I only now realized that the blurb gives so much away from the book. This shows that I didn’t read it before I even finished the book because everything was a surprise for me. HaHa. As I probably mentioned already in my previous reviews, this author is one of my must-reads where I don’t even need to know beforehand what her books are about.

The first book in this series of standalones blew me away. I fell head over heels in love with the characters and was very excited to meet the next brother. Hudson West was definitely one to swoon over and he slowly found a way into my heart. That he was a veterinarian was the cherry on top and all the dogs in this story warmed my soul.

I adored this story so very much and I liked that although there was somewhat of an instant connection between the characters, they both had reservations because of some bad experiences in their pasts. Both had been married before and both had been through some rough times, although different from each other, which brought them even closer together because they understood the pain from the other so much better.
The story had a great pace for the majority of the book but moved very fast at the end. I was a bit surprised after all the tiptoeing around that the characters suddenly had it all figured out in only a couple of minutes. After countless ups and downs, with the dog, the troubles from their pasts catching up and their uncertainty about their feelings and seriousness of their relationship I was ultimately very happy about the conclusion though.

There was quite a lot going on throughout the story but all the funny moments were definitely my favorites. The characters were great and especially Wiley was such a cute little boy. He and Dick gave me a lot to laugh about which made the story so much more fun and entertaining. #TeamBigDick
”Can we go play with the lady’s Big Dick now?”

This story was a top read but I couldn’t give a full star rating because I didn’t always feel the emotions or the romance when something moved rather fast, and for example at their date, I would have liked to see more of them getting to know each other. I know that are just minor things but compared to the perfect first book I just had to make somewhat of a difference in my rating. Please don’t let that scare you because I absolutely adored this story and hope you will fall in love with the characters as much as I did because they sure cracked me up a lot. Now I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book because Pearson!!

P.S.: Don’t you just love this cover?! It really is drool worthy.

What an absolutely amazing book that was filled with angst, drama, heat and love. I thoroughly enjoyed Hudson and Milly and the cast of characters and stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book. There is a cliffhanger so don't be surprised.

A West Brothers Novel

I am so loving this series about the brothers West! I am also so in love with Ms. Hargrove's writing! This story is funny, it is sweet with a touch of angst and a whole lotta steaminess!

This story of Hudson and Milly is fantabulous! Two badly scarred hearts that find each other.

Hudson is a damaged man, his whole life revolves around his son.  He isn't looking for love or a relationship.  He has the whole "Fool me once..." saying as his personal mantra.  Until the lovely Milly "falls" into his world.

Milly is too a damaged woman.  She has had such a personal tragedy. (Which I really loved how Ms. Hargrove told that part of the story.)  She has come through her past with a strength she isn't really even aware of.

Hudson and Milly's relationship dynamic is so hawt, charming and seriously funny! The dialogue between them is epic and I made me laugh out loud!

The secondary characters bring so much more to the story!  It was wonderful to read and catch up with past characters and seeing new ones!

I cannot wait to read Pearson's story!  Well done Ms. Hargrove! You have a new fan and I will be stalking you shortly!!

Hudson West marriage ended in ultimate betrayal, hell cheating on him wouldnt have hurt as much. She left him and their son without a word. Took everything in apartment, the bank [that she knew about] and left. Leaving him scarred and hesitant now. He is fine with the occasional hook ups.

Millie moved to NY to escape the memories. A failed marriage she busted her ass of saving. A loss. Now starting to strive in NY she is shocked when her ex drops off Big Dick, a huge Mastiff dog. Plus, things have looked up since her run ins with her sexy neighbor. Though embarrassing run ins they still awaken something she thought she lost forever...her sexuality.

Neither, looking for romance, but both drawn to one another start as friends, things heating up when she sustains an injury which draws him and his son closer and more frequently. Soon she is in love with his son, who is enamored with her too, but maybe Big Dick more, LOL. Lines start to blur, sex, hot steamy erotic sex ensues.

Just when everything is looking good, moving in the right direction, one of their past will blow in and ruin it all. Will this be un-fixable? Can one right a wrong so deep it slices a soul?

Find out, read the series.

I will say the ending was a little convoluted for me, rushed. It all happens so fast. I rather of had a little more words to make it more drawn.
Can be read as a standalone but I suggest start from book 1.

When you have an attractive divorcee, a hunky vet, a lovable five-year-old boy and a giant fur baby, you've got the perfect combination of characters for a light-hearted romantic comedy. This book is a West Brothers novel but can be read as a standalone.

Millie is recovering from a failed marriage so she up and moved out of their marital house and became Hudson’s new neighbour. As if being newly single and lonely isn’t bad enough, her ex showed up at her doorstep and dropped two bombshells on her: he’s leaving the country and he’s leaving Big Dick with her.

Hudson West is a successful veterinarian, a single dad with a precocious kid. He's been badly scarred by his ex-wife and does not plan to go down that route again. His been-there-done-that view towards marriage is pretty much the main reason for the conflict between the two protagonists. Will he allow himself to have another go at relationships or being neighbours with benefits is enough for him and Millie?

Told in alternating points of view, this is a well-written romantic tale. It will not only make you giggle and smile, but it also provides enough drama from wicked exes to make this book a very interesting read. The secondary characters are as engaging as the protagonists, especially Hudson’s brothers. The witty banter, funny one-liners and comedic moments involving a little boy and a number of four-legged friends make this book very entertaining. As well as laughter, Hudson and Millie’s love story gives you the brilliant family dynamics of the West family. If you want to get the perfect remedy for a book hangover, this is the one. And yes, I can’t wait to read Pearson’s story!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
From Ashes To Flames (West Brothers, #1)

This is Milly and Hudson’s story. Milly who is divorced has moved away from her ex and is now trying to start over. She is over men and all their issues. She got her dog and that is the only man she needs. At least he’s loyal. Hudson is a veterinarian and single father. But she can resist him. That is until her dog gets hurt. Then she needs him and is around him more. Can she fight the attraction? Or will she fall even when she didn’t want to? Can he help her heal her broken heart and learn to love again?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

And she did it again!!! A.M. Hargrove gave us another wonderful and emotional story that will suck you in right from the start.

This story had me smiling throughout the book, but it also had me yelling, crying and swooning. I love when a book takes my heart on an emotional rollercoaster.

From Ice To Flames is the second book in her standalone series of the West Brothers. Each of these books can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading them in order so you get the full experience of the West family. The characters are interconnected so you will see past couples in the books.

One of my all time favorite things when I read a book from A.M. Hargrove is the kids she incorporates into the story. In this book we got to know Wiley. He is an adorable 5 year old boy. He is the son of Dr. Hudson West. He absolutely stole the show for me. I thought the flow and pace of the story was perfect. Nothing was missing and nothing seemed rushed. I thought she played out Milly and Hudson’s journey perfectly. These two characters both had some issues to overcome and work through before they could find happiness again. I will say that I loved the part that the pets played into this story. Makes me want to get a dog ;)

In this story we follow Milly and Hudson. Milly is just coming off a bad relationship and she has decided to swear off men. She moved to New York to start new. Milly is a little on the clumsy side so when she is coming home from the store, she drops her bags….but Hudson is there to help. Hudson is a veterinarian and a single father. He is also coming off a bad relationship and has sworn off relationships. So what happens when two people who don’t want a relationship surrender to love?? Read this book to find out.

If you are a fan of single fathers and pets who will make you laugh, then you need to read this book!!!

So many great moments in this book.. and that ending??? Omg!!!

I loved reading From Ice to Flames. Being an animal lover, the boisterous personalities of the pets in this story we too much fun. They could definitely steal the show here and there. But of course, Hudson and Milly were in the spotlight from start to finish. And don't let me forget the amazing Wylie, the 5 year old son of Hudson.
Each character grabbed your attention and brought you in to their own story. Each had emotional baggage but living their life to the fullest. And when Hudson and Milly come together...giving love a shot, it is explosive.
But, with every relationship, there are going to be hardships and misunderstandings. I totally got irritated at one scene, but A.M. Hargrove doesn't let you down with the HEA. Truly warms your heart and soul...makes you chuckle and brings smiles to your face...From Ice to Flames is a must read!!

This is the second book in the West Brothers Novels. It is a complete stand-alone, full-length, contemporary romance. I did not read the first book and had no problem jumping into the story. The blurb grabbed me: single dad, pets/dogs, older in life couple..... all the good stuff.

Hudson and Milly had some great chemistry from the start and once they got together, things really exploded. The book had moments of super sweet, some angsty parts and some wonderful humor to break everything up. I did feel like the middle dragged a bit. I found myself setting it down and coming back to it a few time. Things picked up again nearer tot he end.

Overall, a light romantic read. Loved the epilogues! I would happily read more about this family.

I enjoyed this book and found it a quick read but wasn't my favorite book. I loved the animals and really enjoyed the main characters Hudson and Milly. The blurb does a good job laying out the story. This is a story about second chances and tough past relationships. I liked the development of the story and the discussion are you willing to take that chance of letting someone else in. The title is a little too fitting for me. I loved some scenes but others were a little lacking. I did like the ending and do think its worth picking up for a good story.

From Ice To Flames is a funny, light hearted, full of feelings, and steaminess. I liked the story, it was well written, humorous and told in dual points of view. Recently divorced Millie is starting her life over, and all she wanted was her ex husband's huge dog named Dick. Sexy Neighbor Hudson, barely has time to think, so having a relationship is the last thing on his mind. He's busy with his vet clinic, and being a single parent to his son Wiley. I loved this little guy. The chemistry between Millie and Hudson was scorching hot from the minute they meet. The secondary characters added to this story with their witty banter, and actions. This is a great story, and I'm looking forward to reading more of the West Brothers.

Life as they know it has ended, and now it's all about picking up the pieces and surviving each day.

A chance meeting changes EVERYTHING for both Hudson and Milly.

Thoughts turn from breathing in and out to wondering whether the other wants some bedroom gymnastics time.

Enter big dick and conversations turn left right and centre into fits of giggles from both the book characters and yours truly.

I loved that big dick had me chuckling away like a schoolgirl.

Milly was a very loveable character, poised, purposeful yet soft and delicate too.

Hudson is every girls dream, loves children and animals, owns his own business, hot to look at and no clingy ex's what more could you ask for?

Their sexual chemistry was off the charts, and I loved every single encounter they had, big dick or no big dick (sorry couldn't resist)

I don't think I've laughed this much over a book in a very long time. Don't get me wrong it wasn't all laughs but those are what stick in my mind the most.

I very much look forward to the next book.

I loved everything and all the things about this book! I knew Millie was going to be my favorite heroine once she was introduced. So much heart ache but yet strong enough to move on with her life. Then she takes a tumble and meets her new neighbor, Mr. McLuscious! GAH!!! I swooned hard over Hudson and Wiley. These two are adorable and steals not only Millie's heart, but mine as well. You will have a string of emotions while reading this book. The laughs and giggles. The heartache and anger. The "WTF" moments along with the very heated moments. From Ice to Flames has it all!

The West brothers are just amazing and are nothing but pure alpha male. You won't be able to help yourself from tripping all over them. I loved the dogs in this story, especially Big Dick. I laughed so hard when Wiley wants to see the lady's big dick. If only I could be in that world and see the expressions everyone made until they realized it was a dog. I loved the HEA at the end. Millie learns a lot and loves harder. What has me now on the edge is Pearson. What is his story?? We shall find out with the next book. The ending will keep you intrigued.

This is a story that made me believe in second chances and true love again. I’m excited about reading this author’s book with each release. I can truly say that each book pulls me into the story and I literally can not stop reading until the end. Milly Fremont is a beautiful woman who is recently divorced. She has recently moved to an Manhattan apartment for a fresh start. She first encounters ,the ever-so-sexy, Hudson West during a elevator ride. The sexual attraction is there but they both resist. Later Milly’s ex-husband,Harry, stops by for an unexpected visit. Harry is moving to England for a new job. He drops off their beloved dog, Dick, a large Matsiff that weights 160 pounds because he’s unable to care for him because of the move. Milly is happy because that’s truly the only “dick” she missed in the relationship...lol. Later Milly mets Hudson again but she is introduced to his five year old son, Wiley, who loves her dog. She discoverers Hudson is not only a single dad, he’s a veterinarian with 3 dogs of his own and her next door neighbor! The stars are aligned and it’s just a matter of time the chemistry between them combine.😉❤️. This book was an emotional ride and I would recommend it to every romance reader!!!

Ice to Flames is Book 2 in the West Brothers Series (they can be read as standalones)
Another amazing read by Annie .... This story melted me . All the feels.... I love the chemistry between them. I love Wiley he’s so stinkin cute.. Hudson and Milly were perfect .... It was full of sweet, swoony, hottttt, adorable moments, but also moments that broke your heart, with a little heartless douche, and psycho mixed in..... Both Hudson and Milly guarded their hearts with all they had because of the past. But what they finally realized is that you can’t bring past relationships into new ones, if you want it to work. Not everyone is a heartless giant douche, or a money hungry psycho . I love the family dynamic in these books.... I love how Annie always brings kids to life in her books.... She makes them so stinkin adorable you fall head over heels in love with them.... Wiley is the best freakin kid ever .... He’s hilarious and makes you wanna squeeze his little cheeks .... He’s also a total butt man 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I died ..... #hegetsitfromhisdaddy #shespurdy #shehasabigbutt #iwikeherbigbutt #purdybutt #Istilllikeyourbut #itsbig

I'm loving this amazing series about the West brothers. A.M Hargrove's writing style pulls you into these fictional world's and introduces you to great characters so easily you can't help but be mesmerised by her story telling. From Ice to Flames was funny, sweet had bits of drama and some hot scenes. It kept me up way later than I should have been but I just didn't want to put it down.

Hudson owns his own vetenery surgery and is a single father to the cutest little boy Wiley. After the disastrous relationship with his ex the last thing he's looking for is a relationship.

Milly is recently divorced and has moved to New York to start a fresh. The pain of her previous marriage has caused her to be cautious with her heart but when she meets her new neighbour and his adorable little boy could she be willing to take a risk.

If the blurb of this book doesn't grab your immediate attention then I'm almost certain the cover will. Grab your copy now you won't be disappointed!!

I’m a total sucker when there’s books with animals in them! I feel like it just makes it that much sweeter-because the author can truly sympathize and relate to them really being a best friend.
Milly and Hudson find themselves recovering from broken hearts and broken marriages, but totally entranced by each other. Throw in Milly’s dog from her previous marriage, and the coolest little character ever-Hudson’s son, and you have a recipe for a book that will truly warm your heart.
With any new relationship, theirs is put to the test, and it’s so refreshing and genuine to read about a couple that is struggling with trust, and how they’ve been scarred before. I wasn’t expecting a ton of angst but we definitely got it-and I loved every second of it
The relationship between Hudson and Milly is definitely a feel good romance-it took a lot of work to get them to perfect, and it was a story I loved to read. - By Victoria
