Marry Me (Lyrics and Love Book 1) Kindle Edition
Sam- Lauren and her twin brother were my best friends growing up. She captured my heart from the moment I first saw her dancing through the sprinkler. I always kept my feelings hidden though, standing back as she dated other guys, afraid to cross that line and risk losing her. I even went out with a few girls myself, but no one ever measured up.
Then that dreaded day arrived, and I knew I’d lost her forever.
Lauren- Sam was always my constant. My rock. My best friend. That feeling, the one I only got around him, had never been matched by another man. But Sam never showed me he felt anything more for me than friendship, so I moved on...
Now, standing at the end of the aisle, ready to walk to my forever, my mind spins with what-ifs. Do I keep moving forward, knowing a man who loves me is at the end? Or do I risk it all, for the one man I’ve always wanted, and hope he wants me in return.

I love that Samantha Lind writes happy, low angst romances, which can be a relief after the hangover that some books provide!
This series of stand alones, are based on song lyrics. This one is Marry Me, by Thomas Rhett.
The angst that there is, happens early in the story, as Lauren Kramer realises she can't marry Brad when she loves Sam Cole. It's just a shame it happens at the wedding.
Sam and Lauren and her twin Steven, all grew up together. From the day the twins moved in across the street, Sam was part of their lives. Flashbacks to the earlier years, show just how good it was.
But when Sam failed to declare himself to teenage Lauren, he missed his chance.
Present day and Sam has come to Lexington for Lauren's wedding, so he is right where he needs to be when a tearful Lauren seeks him out.
They take things slowly, because they know they have the rest of their lives to get it right.

- Reviewed in Australia on 13 September 2018A beautiful, light hearted read, this friends to lovers story will warm your heart. I personally would have loved a little more drama or conflict but it’s a great story if you’re looking for that happy, joyful feeling while reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars This story definitely had my attention, right from the beginning!
Verified PurchaseThis book is a little different from your typical romance. It' actually unlike anything else I've read before now. Despite those differences, this is a very sweet, enjoyable romance that is perfect for a beach read!
Lauren loves Sam, and Sam loves Lauren. They have loved each other since they met as children, through their teens and into their adulthoods. They are best friends, along with Lauren's twin brother. This book starts with a wedding: Lauren's wedding....to someone other than Sam! That's because neither Sam, nor Lauren, have shared their feelings with the other. Sounds like a train wreck, waiting to happen!
Sam is one of the good guys. Loving, friendly, and hard working, he thinks no one is good enough for Lauren, even himself. So he keeps his feelings to himself, just knowing that there is no way that Lauren could return his feelings. His altruistic choices toward Lauren, lead to him attending her wedding, as a guest.
Lauren has loved Sam since she first met him as a child. Their relationship grew, and their friendship meant everything to her. But since Sam never gave Lauren any hints that he returned her feelings, she tried to move on with her life, taking it in a different direction. And now she is getting married. To Brad.
This story definitely had my attention. At the beginning, I wasn't sure where the heck the story was going, (I mean the heroine was marrying someone else!) but I quickly caught up, and totally enjoyed the rest of the story. This book was all about family, friendship, love, and being true to yourself. And it should totally be read on the beach!

4.0 out of 5 stars "My love for you will never change."
Verified PurchaseTrue love comes in many forms and sometimes it starts with a shy glance, a first date and a special first kiss. For Sam and Lauren it started when they were children as they played together in the backyard, went on family vacations and as she cheered for Sam on the football field. They never told each other how they felt about one another and as they got older they drifted apart, and Lauren fell in love with someone else. Sam took a job in another state because he couldn’t stand seeing Lauren with other guys because no one was good enough for her. She was kind, smart, beautiful and the most precious person in his life. He loved her from the depths of his heart and when he received the wedding invitation he couldn’t breath and he knew that he had waited too long, and now he had lost her forever.
Lauren had always dreamed of a romantic wedding at her grandparents house but as her special day was fast approaching, she wasn’t sure if she was doing what her heart was telling her to do. Her mind told her that Brad loved her and would make a good husband and always take care of her. But her heart was screaming at her to reach down to the depths of her soul and make the only decision that would truly make her happy.
“Marry Me” is the first book in the Lyrics and Love series, and the characters reached out to me from the very first page. I was anxious throughout the entire book because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. Sam and Lauren had such a special past and I kept hoping that they would realize they were meant to be together. Samantha’s new series, based on song titles, is very unique and I am anxious to find out what song will be the title of her next romantic adventure.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sam and Ren
Verified PurchaseI LOVE the Indy Eagles Series from this author and while this was a sweet premise I didn’t love the main characters enough to really fall in love with it.
I loved that Sam and Lauren were childhood best friends and I loved the sweet flashbacks. It was just enough memories to grasp their strong connection.
Unfortunately the book starts out at Lauren’s wedding to Brad and even though she loves Sam and always has she not only agrees to marry Brad but walks down the aisle to him. She actually gets to the end of the aisle then dumps this poor man, crushing him. I would not be a fan of Lauren from this point on. The woman had many opportunities to call things off or simply tell him she was having second thoughts but unfortunately she decides humiliating him at the alter in front of their friends and family was the way to go. I hoped and waited for a scene to show us Brad was a jerk and deserved what he got but it just got worse because we know he truly is a good man that deserved way better than he got.
Sam wasn’t terrible. He was very patient and loving to Ren but he was also very passive and was totally prepared to let her marry someone else. I like my hero to go after what he wants with no hesitation and that wasn’t Sam.
This definitely had its sweet moments but at the end of the day I didn’t care enough for the main characters to care about their HEA.
This is a very talented writer and I am excited for our next hockey boy story...and maybe a Brad/Katie story?!
