- Reviewed in Australia on 29 June 2020Blood Thirsty was a little different for the Cocky Hero Club series with it containing a paranormal twist. Not my normal go to genre but found this author put an almost believable aspect to it and deserves praise for taking such a risk. Caroline and Ethan’s story was full of twists and turns and was enjoyable. Two characters who are intriguing and entertaining. My only negative was I felt the story had you feeling a little cheated with the ending and needing more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read
Verified PurchaseNovel in the Shades of Red World, featuring Caroline, a school teacher who has been through a rough patch in life, her best friend Aubrey who does everything in her power to help her, Ethan, a vampire genius workaholic and Caroline's new boss in Dumont Securities, as well as several other interesting characters.
I have read that the premise is a spinoff of the original Cocky Bastard by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, which I haven't read, but I have read this series and the author did a great job situating it in her existing world and including cameos of some of the characters we met before.
This is a sweet romance between two imperfect people who love each other and can't stay away no matter how many obstacles are put in front of them and no matter how the odds may be against then being together. There are doubts, lies, betrayal, but there is love and forgiveness and new beginnings and there is friendship. Overall an enjoyable read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Vampires
Verified PurchaseBloodthirsty Bastard is a paranormal addition to the Cocky Hero Club. This vampire tale will warm up your insides on a cold Romania trip.
While I love a good vampire story, I didn’t really click with this one. Our hero doesn't really seem to connect to the heroine. I had a hard time trying to sense the "chemistry " they swear they have. I think my biggest hurdle to overcome was the way Aubrey and Chance are protrayed in Caroline's point of view. They came across as selfish and uncaring which is completely out of character. Caroline's point of view made it really hard to enjoy the book. I also struggled to like Caroline. She was wishy washy in her decisions, feelings, and actions.
In general, I think that perhaps my love for Aubrey and Chance hindered me from enjoying this book more. Loyalty to the couple definitely didn't help with their portrayal in Bloodthirsty Bastard. However, even if they looked like saints, I couldn't connect with either main character even with my love of vampires.
