She scribbled stories not so loosely based on the hottest guy in school, during sleepovers with her bestie. When she moved into the workforce, she always kept a notebook hidden in her filing, writing outlines and scenes whenever no one was looking. She took an extended break from writing when the tiny humans made their appearance, but her characters were always there, telling their stories in the back of her mind. When her youngest was eighteen months, Elle began using naptime as writing time, and wrote two books over the next eighteen months. Those will never see the light of day. But then this kind of arrogant, but kind of a sweetheart character named Low started talking, and the rest is history.

    Low and Reece are fantastic characters that have bad things going on in their lives.
    This was a pretty emotional story but to be honest it sort of ended abruptly, but it did end on a happy note.

    Wow, I really enjoyed this! I stumbled across this by accident and I'm glad I did.
    I have never read a romance book where one of the leads has HIV and it was an added dynamic to a great romance. Reading the 2 characters trying to navigate their way through this showed me that the author had clearly done her homework as the facts were spot on.
    I loved the slow burn and angst and polish and pull of the leads and I'm happy it ended in that fashion

    Only the Positive is the first book in the Only You stand alone series and a first Elle Thorpe. This book was an emotional one throughout and kept me hanging on where the book was going, 2 characters both broken by incidents coming together to make themselves whole again.

    Low and Reece are both young and have no expectations past a one-night stands, working together will make it harder but they both know the score and use sex as a crutch which leads to Low finding out that he has been exposed to a life altering health issue. When Low and Reece start to realise that their attraction and feelings towards each other are growing they lean on each other, they can only avoid their problems for so long and when it gets tough will they cut and run or stay and believe in the positives.

    Low is a young gorgeous playboy, he uses his role at the bar to help him satisfy his needs one night at a time, he hides himself from everyone, he doesn’t feel like he deserves good things to happen to him, deep down he just wants the love and support of his family and friends. Reece is independent and believes that punishing herself is the answer to her problems, believing she has ruined a life she deprives herself from what she loves Education, Horses and most of all Family.

    Low and Reece had that insta attraction, they have playful flirting that heats up with just a look and a touch. Even with Low’s health situation the attraction towards each other never faulters, they find a balance and when they finally come together they explode.

    Elle’s writing was great throughout this book, giving you both POV’s which is always a bonus for me, I love knowing what each character is thinking and feeling. The way she wrote Low’s health issues was fantastic, I felt that she gave his character the perfect voice and showed the range of emotions that one would feel finding out his situation.

    I enjoyed the plot of the book there was a lot of dark and sad moments throughout, the fun and playfulness of the minor character shone and I cannot wait to read more about them in the following books.

    Only the positive is book 1 in ONLY you series by Elle Thorpe who is just Phenomenal. Only the positive is Low and Reese's story. Reese starts work at the bar Low manages sparks instantly fly between them. But being work colleges they don't want to cross that line. But when they do Low gets a text message and leaves Reese high and dry. Reese is fighting her own demons after an accident happens a year ago to someone very close to her. So alcohol and sex are her coping mechanisms after she runs away. Low is very hot and cold towards her. He wants her one minute then not the next. Reese gets sick of this and demands to why he is being like this. When she does find out she doesn't exactly have the right reaction and Low storms off. Reese releases this and does her research to help Low to show him she is not scared and wants to be with him.  Two damaged and broken souls come together to guide each other through some pretty bad times. This story is beautiful, realistic, sexy, emotional and addictive. Elle Thorpe has a way of writing that draws you in and makes you feel part of the story. Can't wait to continue this amazing, emotionally charged series.

    It was a great read. Heartbreaking, sad but sweet. Sometimes I get angry and frustrated with Low. He makes stupid decision. But he's really sweet and caring. While Reece is very forgiving till it gets annoying. But it's worth the read. There's no cliffhanger so read freely.

    This chick can write! She's got love, lust, and twists for days! I loved how Reese was there for Low, even when things got tough and everyone else bailed. But before that, Low was there for Reese too, and they bonded over their shared struggles. They were there for each other when it mattered most, but they still had to figure some stuff out on their own. And let me tell you, the ending was EVERYTHING! It all came together in the most amazing way!
