I could’ve fucking strangled her. She knew it too because she stepped away quickly. “Touch me and I’ll have you!” she snarled.
“Bruja mala leche! What the fuck do you think you’re playing at! You can’t push me around!”
“Sure I can.” Her eyes were slate grey, the same colour as the sky, and just as cold. “I need help, and you’re going to give it.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’ve got a situation. I need someone who isn’t afraid of murder and mayhem.”
I should have charmed her, offered to help and maybe it would have settled it, but I was too mad to even consider it. “Help you? Over my dead fucking body!”
She shrugged. “We can do it that way, too.” She took out her phone. “I’ll call you soon, hopefully within the hour. If you still refuse, I call Smith.” The eyes were hard. “I’d rather not shop you, because I hate that bastard, but I will if you make me.”
I gave her my number. I mean, I wanted to kill her, but in London they notice things like bodies in the street. Especially if you’re careless enough to do it in broad daylight next to a cop shop.

Quique is having a bad time. Back in Mexico his marriage has fallen apart and his wife has made him a laughing stock by cheating on him. Now he’s in London and finding himself out of his depth with a complex commercial deal. To make things worse, Natalia Truelove, a chef and pub manager, is blackmailing him. Quique is ready to commit murder and he’s pretty sure who his first victim will be.

Warning: Dirty Dealings contains strong adult language and themes as well as graphic violence and fully depicted love scenes.

4.5 STARS!
There's no justice, not in this world. All we have is vengeance.
This was dark enemies-to-lovers heaven! The BEST of the series so far!

Quique, Kyle's right hand man, meets Natalia while taking care of some extremely bloody cartel business in London.

They were fabulous together.
I should have shot the bitch the first time I met her.
It might seem strange to use the above quote to characterize their relationship, but it suits them so well! They were equals in every way and their cat and mouse games were so entertaining.
...you can't be a shrinking violet when you're dealing with douchebags.
Adams' writing has definitely improved even though she still has the horrible habit of using exclamation points everywhere! which makes the dialogue somewhat cheesy.

Regardless, I'm rounding up based on all of the following:
✔ heroine with a backbone of steel
✔ alpha hero who isn't sleazy
✔ great banter
✔ NO annoying 'I'm overcome by my lust for you.'
✔ intricate plot that comes together nicely
✔ fabulous British slang throughout
✔ crazy British extended family
I think it's possible to read this as a standalone, and if you like this kind of trope, I highly recommend.
"Bruja, it's a wonder you made it past childhood. You've got an evil tongue."
Triggers: LOTS, but this was definitely a tamer story compared to the first two books.

Moving on to book 4!

There are anti-heroes and then there are straight up jerks. The cartel anti-hero in this story takes all sorts of abuse from his two-timing, lying, petty, boring, spoiled, vapid wife, including her lying about him not being ‘man’ enough to impregnate her. He still is wildly possessive and jealous over her, reminisces about her beauty, even comparing her to the heroine of the story, seethes over her affairs and wants to kill her lovers etc. But he eventually sends her affectionately on her way to be with her lover with all his blessings and making sure she is financially set up as well. This is supposed to makes me, the reader, feel confident that he has finally gotten over her and cut ties once and for all. It didn’t. If anything, it was that tender caring, quick forgiveness after all she did, and the fact he set her up for her future, that makes me think he also will be looking over her future happiness the rest of their lives, leave the door open for her to come to him with any troubles, and she will forever remain a priority in his life.

As for the heroine, he begins their acquaintance by punching her in the face knocking her out cold. He proceeds to insult her, slut-shame her, threaten her, use and strong-arm her. Naturally, in the process, he falls into lust with her but all the time very careful not to give her any hopes other than a friends with benefits situation. He keeps hiring prostitutes in the meantime (okay, he can’t find it in himself to actually sleep with them but like the old adage says, it’s the THOUGHT that counts. So YUCK!). I mean, he asked her to go to Paris with him during their fling and when she could not go because of her work commitments, he flies there by himself and arranges for a hooker the first night? The hooker was butt naked in his bed when some news came down the wire that heroine was in trouble so he pushes the naked prostitute out of his hotel room and runs back to heroine to save the day. That doesn’t warm my heart and make me say awwww what a knight in shining armor. Instead, I find him to be a disgusting pig who can jump from one woman to another without qualms. He cheated on his wife with hookers and now he treats the heroine the same. What is supposed to be endearing about this guy? Give me an anti-hero who is obsessed with the heroine and won’t look at another please!

What was even more unforgivable however is that he lets heroine get into life and death trouble, with the crooked cops, the rival gangs, and her stalker, time and time again, and he is NEVER EVER there for her. It got to be ridiculous the amount of time she was beaten, tasered, yelled at, imprisoned, abused, manhandled, almost killed, all of the time because she was trying to protect him. She never ratted him out. She has to be a freaking cheerleader for him. She had to be the perfect cook, housekeeper, party hostess and charm his entire cartel family and all the while he has an expiry date in mind about their fling and still fretting over his beautiful wife (even though they are on the brink of divorce). When time and time again, he sees graffiti on her wall calling her a bitch and whore, even someone leaving a rat on her doormat, he tells her ‘be careful’ and goes on his merry way? He sticks the most useless bodyguard on her who is not even there to help fend off a bunch of crooked cops who haul her in jail based on trumped up charges and torture her to give up her cartel boyfriend. When the useless bodyguard tells him about it, he doesn’t lift a finger, confident that she can take care of it herself? What kind of 🤡 is this guy? I really can’t help feeling he would have turned heaven and earth to protect his wife if she simply complained of a pesky mosquito that wouldn’t leave her alone. But the heroine? Oh she is fine to go days on end under threat of a hundred nefarious criminals while the “hero” is off somewhere with the latest prostitute? Fuck off please 😀

The heroine was ridiculous too in her delusional quest to martyrize herself for her in-laws from hell, a pack of lying, cheating, ungrateful leeches who always jumped eagerly to whatever conclusion would put her in the worst light and when they were faced with her Joan of Arc like sainthood, STILL only grudgingly “accepted” her in their ranks.

This author has written a wonderful pulp novella called The Bonus in which she managed to create a cartel anti-hero who was believably ruthless and lethal, who did mistreat heroine at the beginning of their twisted relationship, but redeemed himself beautifully and gave the impression that she was his one and only true love and he was hers. I totally bought that story. Here, I simply didn’t. Perhaps it was the avalanche of third party characters who took the focus away from the main couple, making their romance peripheral to the real action: a gang war involving many different criminal members, the aforementioned tribal in-laws and all their Coronation Street soap opera lives, and all the drama surrounding the hero’s ex-wife and her new lover. I am sorry to say I really didn’t enjoy this one :(

Once I got used to the phrasing and language of this story, I found it to be an enjoyable, suspenseful read. Natalia was spunky, sassy, feisty, strong, independent, reliable and amazing. Quique was fierce, loyal, devoted, dominant, aggressive, alpha, protective, intelligent and supportive. I enjoyed the development of their relationship and how it was obvious to me, the reader, that they were on their way to forever, even though they were living in denial. The author explored many facets of the underworld and crime, such as gambling, kiddie porn, regular porn, cartels, corrupt cops, rape, assault, domestic abuse, murder, etc. There was definitely a lot going on and it kept things interesting.

If there was one thing I could have changed, especially earlier on in this story, it would be making Enrique appear stronger when confronting his cheating wife. She got away with a lot and considering the fact that he was the #3 in the world’s most elite cartel, I expected more in retaliation. More in regards to retribution. Just more! However, what he dealt with and the way he handled it spoke to the character of the man and it was very hard not to respect the heck out of him. He had such a compassionate soul for such a hard man and it made him a sympathetic character. It was really easy to like Natalia. Although she came off rough and hard to take, it was clear that these were her defense mechanisms. Used to shouldering the burden of those around her, she had to stay strong in the face of every adversity. Her life had proven to be difficult but she handled it with grace and perseverance.

I enjoyed the heck out of this book. If you like stories that involve action, suspense, hints of mystery, a great moving plot with interesting and dynamic characters, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy the heck out of Dirty Dealings too.

Each of the stories set in this dark Cartel world feels so different it’s not the same tired formula on repeat and this appeals greatly to me. I love the raw gritty realistic vibe this imparts and this definitely showcases the dark side of life not pulling its punches or romanticising things. I adore the unconventional heroines it makes such a change from the innocent virgin trope. These are women who have seen rock bottom and understand how things work in this criminal underbelly.

The heroine here I think was the toughest yet she’d previously played by the rules with little success and has now made a conscious decision to make the people she cares about her priority. I did think she was maybe a little too understanding of her former in-laws but she’s all about family and is now running her ex-father in-laws pub whilst he’s currently incarcerated.

Quique's marriage is on the rocks his wife has been running around on him and with people aware he’s concerned about losing face and respect. He’s over from Mexico to complete a deal and to also get some breathing space. An associate was targeted by a local gang the Peckham knaves and Quique's come to clean up.

An encounter with Natalia Truelove ends in a spot of blackmail for Quique. Nat nicknamed Frosty on account of her cold bitch facade is a spitfire with a temper and he finds himself constantly wanting to strangle her whilst also secretly respecting her fearless attitude. Life hasn’t always been good to Nat but she’s loyal with a backbone of steel and prepared to do what needs to be done.

Embarking on a fling together was never meant to be a permanent thing, especially with an ex-wife still very much in the background but events conspire that mean Quique will need to make a choice or Nat may just become collateral damage and expendable.

I absolutely adored Natalia she’s like my idol i definitely had a bit of a girl crush. I appreciated her give no shits attitude and despite her inner angst she attempts to show a fearless face to the world and you’d never know what’s behind the mask. She’s practical reasonable and isn’t sentimental which made it even more special when she lets Quique in making herself vulnerable to him and he in return he attempts to do the same back.

There were some things that irked me here but in the grand scheme of things they were mainly slight plot niggles for example when Quique went to Paris alone his actions there did annoy me somewhat also the fact that he wasn’t diligent enough to stop Nat from getting harassed by the police thinking she was able to take care of things herself. I didn’t like the contrast between the way he had babied his ex-wife but Nat did not get the same consideration from him. Especially because I also thought he was much too nice to this ex who came across to me as a vapid bitch but I suppose this again added to its realistic ambience. Life isn’t perfect and here we are definitely dealing with imperfect individuals that play by a different set of rules to the norm.

I think out of this series this may be my favourite yet and I’m very much looking forward to getting stuck into the next one. This author is fast becoming a personal favourite for me and whilst I usually stick mostly to KU when it comes to my books these are definitely worth the purchase price. So if you like dark gritty reads with unconventional individuals this is definitely the series for you. Be aware though it’s not a warm fuzzy romance which for me is honestly half of the draw.

It’s so good to see the Zetas on iTunes!
https://books.apple.com/nl/book/dirty...
I’m having a lot of fun with the men of this cartel and the women that bring them to their knees.

Quique’s marriage is over and it’s a difficult thing to accept,so his boss Kyle and Arturo send him to England to cool down and take over for their man Jorge, who’s recovering from being shot.
When a woman witnesses him dealing with the one responsible,he knows he has to take care of her silence.
But Natalia is not what he expected. First impressions aren’t always correct, and that goes for both.
Because Natalia sees only a hardened criminal.....

Fiercely protective of the ones she loves,Natalia is in a tough place.
She needs to keep the family pub going to make sure they have a roof over their heads while her ex father-in law is in prison.
Not that the men of the family appreciate her efforts, but she’s the only one that can.
And she’s dealing with the trouble the kids get into,as well.
When that gets her into trouble too,she toughens up.

Once Quique and Natalia see beyond the façade, they start to like and even admire eachother.
And that’s where the real fun begins, because these two were made for eachother!
They deal with the enemy, each in their own way.
They play dumb with the police, because they are the enemy too....
And when Natalia is badly hurt while defending herself,Quique whisks her away to prevent her being sent to prison for murder.
But when the smoke clears, his life is still in Nuevo Laredo and hers is in London.....
And they both know it was just temporary, right?

……………………………………………………………

AJ is at her best with this series, absolutely love the Zeta family! Each story she tells about them is filled with action, madness and mayhem, experienced by the dark and dangerous men and the sweet women that hold their hearts. Those women overcome hardship, don't complain about it,but fight back....these men admire that, appreciate them, love them and will do everything for them....and i mean everything. Make sure to get to know all of them and buy this whole series!

“You remember to cosset my pride, and I’ll cosset yours.”

When it comes to mafia/cartel stories we usually see characters who are in the top of the chain of command, perfect confident members who are always in control of the situation and never question themselves when it comes to success. With “Dirty Dealings” though that was not the case, we finally have the chance to see the life of those who are not in command, those who simply have to follow orders from their boss and accept the punishment if they mess up.

It was so interesting seeing the Zeta cartel through the eyes of Quique, his was a more vulnerable character not only because of his recent problems with his cheating wife but also with past issues that affected his confidence. It was so hard to see him always so afraid of disappointing his boss whom he admired and being scared that other members would think less of him after what happened with his wife. It was so fortunate that he met the heroine, seeing how much confidence her support gave him was amazing and his change for the better was becoming more and more obvious as he got closer with her.

Natalie I think is my favorite heroine in the Zeta cartel, between her and Quique I think she was stronger and more confident. I liked the fact that she always dealt with her problems herself, we always see in books the hero arriving at the proper time to save the heroine but that didn’t happen here, Natalie most of the time went through difficult situations by herself both in the past and present and Quique usually was there after the incidents happened to witness the aftereffects of them. It was also really funny when she threatened Quique, she was the only heroine who dared threatened a zeta member and it showed how brave she was when she needed to protect her family.
"You and me fighting? I can't imagine it, bruja! There's no way you could win!"
"Is that so?" Her arms snaked around me. "Bring it on, love."

What I didn’t like in this book was the character development of some of the members of Natalie’s family, towards the end I saw a very big change in them that was way too extreme to be believable to me. I also didn’t like the fact that Quique’s divorce wasn’t finalized and a done deal when he met the heroine, he didn't go back to his wife but that, plus the fact that he hired prostitutes after he met the heroine (even if he ended up deciding to not do anything with them) was what made me give this book 3 stars.

I voluntarily reviewed the free copy of this book that I received.

"I protect the people I love, and I play by my own rules. I won't apologise for that."

After Kyle and Chloe, after Arturo and Solitaire, it is now finally Quique's turn!

When Quique finds out that his wife Tina is cheating on him with Antonio, that too in Quique's own bedroom, he is beyond appalled. He is frustrated and he wants his revenge. However, Tina is Arturo's cousin and Antonio is family as well. How can he shoot either of them, then? That is why Arturo decides to send him to London to take care of some business and that is where he finally meets her—Natalia.

The cute, smart and sassy Natalia was never the girl he wanted for himself but when he is finally stuck with her, there is nothing he can do. But then he finds out about Delicia, the thirteen-year-old Natalia is providing for and things start to get tricky.

The best thing about this book is the topics it touches. It discusses rape and child porn. These issues are very sensitive for the general reader but they are very important issues as well. In this novel, Adams brings those issues forward and explains what people feel like when they got through rape and what not; how the family members react to it and how they should react to it.

Honestly, this book was great (and a genuine improvement from the first two—I mean, how is Adams improving her books as time passes?) and I would give it a 4.5 because of the themes it touches. So if you are okay with violence and other gore themes, then this book is for you. (Just remember that the writing style might not be for everyone, though!)

2am is not my usual bedtime but this book kept me up reading till way past my usual bedtime! What an interesting, provocative, intense but also at times humorous novel. I love the way the author creates flawed but lovable characters that fall for each other and become stronger individuals as a result of their relationship.

Sitting with a British friend yesterday I was giving her the gist of the story when she said, “Wow! Peckham is where my daughter taught when she finished her education!!! She has been back in touch with some of her students through Facebook.” Well, she immediately knew that Peckham is noted for being a rather criminal environment and was not surprised by my synopsis of the story…she might even buy it when I give her the link she can do so.

So, the story…

Quique, in charge of security for the Mexican Zeta cartel, is sent to England when an assassination attempt is made on the Zeta boss in charge of the area. His mission to find out what person or entity to punish as well as help extend the area the Zetas’ control. Natalia has a dream and has put it on hold to help out her ex-husband’s family by running the Black Horse Pub. Her life is not and never has been easy but she has not let it get her down. When the worlds of Quique and Natalia collide their lives are changed forever.

Thank you to the author for the free copy in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! Amazing book! Can't get enough kind of read!!!

Quique had been having some trouble at home.  The kind of trouble that causes a man to lose respect. The cheating wife kind of trouble. When he was going to fix it, he was sent to London on a job. He is a professional! He is the best at what he does. He is a killer! While in London he learns he is a lot more than that. Following his bad luck, in London he finds another woman to drive him crazy. But he knows that could never be more than a fling, so he decided to enjoy it.

Natalia is a warrior. Lately, she has been given some bad karma. It doesn't matter. She is a fighter. She will do anything for her family and friends. What she wasn't expecting was to find a steamy romance in midst of death and pain.

OMG! I couldn't put this book down. I had to finish it. I couldn't stop to sleep, eat, almost forgetting my poor kids. So addictive, that I'm already planning to read all Ms. Adams book.
I loved both main characters and several secondary characters as well. What happen when you find the best kick-ass heroine in the history of heroines, and the most amazing hero to be her pair? Explosion! Combustion! I know I'm not making much sense, but Nat and Quique are perfect! Yeah, he is bad. He is not your typical hero. And Natalia, she is not really nice either. But you know what? Perfection may come in different types of shapes, it all depends from which side of the prism you are looking. They are both take-charge kind of people. Loyal and ferocious to stand up for family and friends.

Their love story is not the usual either. It's not a certainty. It's not a done deal. It takes work and sometimes you feel like it won't last. But while it does, is hot and dirty!!!

This book has so many good plot twists that I was shocked until the end. O.M.G! Shocked!!!

P.S1: I love analyzing cover. This one, is spot on! It's hot, sexy and dangerous like Quique!

P.S2: I'm sorry this review wasn't really "by-the-book", but I got so excited with this read that I was lost with words!

You MAY buy this book because you like some suspense within your read; you SHOULD buy this book because you like your love stories hot; buy you MUST read this book because you love your reading dangerously dirty romantic!

An interesting start to the book. We see Natalia three years ago, and then go right into Quique. Quique is a part of the Zetas cartel out of Mexico. What happens when he returns home after a three day trip to Bolivia? When he gets up to the house, past the guard who is smirking a bit, what happens when his wife Tina tries to 'hold him up' by talking to him? What does he do? Who does he go see after he takes care of business? Where does he get sent to next? What happens with Tina? We then find ourselves in London with Natalia, who is running the pub owned by her ex-father-in-law. He's in the slammer and his boys are pissing away the profits as they would say. Giving their friends free drinks and food. When Millie calls Natalia, aka: Frost, Natalia agrees to help out for Delicia's sake as well as Millie's. When Jonathan comes to Natalia for help with a loan shark that he made a bet through, what does she do? What happens when she gets to the loan shark's place? Who finds her there? What do they demand of her? When Delicia is taken after she ticks off 'Sooty', who does Natalia turn to for help? Why? What does she have on that person? This was definitely a very interesting read with lots of action. All these rival gangs, cartels, etc. made it interesting. Finding out about Natalia's background made me wonder how it was so easy for her. This book is full of murder and intrigue. Clearly Quique seems to 'hate' Natalia, but secretly I think he's proud of her. At one point he tells el jefe and the boss about her and they want her recruited. When she gets the drop on a piece of property that he wants, what does she tell him? What does Quique offer her instead? When Quique meets up with Terry, after trying to hack Quique's phone, what does Quique say to him? What happens after Natalia signs over the store that she just purchased to Quique? This book is definitely full of action, murder, mystery, romance, mafia, thrills, and even domestic violence. But it's also about family. description

Dirty Dealings was a great 5 star read.

All I can say is wow, what a read. A.J. Adams has pulled me right in once again.
Don’t start this just before bedtime because you won’t get any sleep.

Natalia was a very strong woman and didn’t take crap from anyone. Than she meets her match in Quique. Quique, is the head of the Zetas, he has come to London to take care of business.
Natalia has taken over running her family bar. When Quique meets her he is instantly drawn to her. He finds out pretty quickly how strong Natalia is, she is more of an equal than a whiny little woman that you need to pamper.

There is so much more that happens you won’t want to put the book down. I don’t want to say too much and give things away. I’m just so excited about this book and everything that happened.
There are several twists and turns that add a great element to the story. The secondary characters were great. We get mystery, action, violence and hot sex scenes. There is some strong language and violence that may be a trigger to some. 1-click and get started on Dirty Dealings today, you will love it.

I loved Dirty Dealings! This is Quique & Natalia's story. They meet when the Zeta Cartel send Quique to England on a operation for the Zeta's. Quique is the second in charge of security for the Mexican Zeta Cartel. Natalia finds herself running a pub for her ex Father in law (he is in jail) and no one else is either responsible enough or capable of running it. And, she has been asked to run it by the family even though she is divorced. But, Natalia is a caregiver even though she is known for being tough. Natalia is a big “B” (yes edited for my Amazon review) and I loved Natalia Truelove's character! She is a strong woman and yet can fall apart at all the right moments just like a woman can. And, while being a strong man Quique had a marriage that was falling apart and his soon to be ex had emasculated him in front of the Zeta's. Believe me Quique is all “Man” but, he didn’t feel that way in front of his friends and family within the Zeta's. Natalia really knows how to build him back up in front of the Zeta's. Okay no more story you need to read Dirty Dealings.

And as usual I love reading book by A. J. Adams because she really knows how to tell a story. I received a complimentary copy for an honest review and I give Dirty Dealings 4.5 Stars.

I am still "gob-smacked" - as our friends from across the pond & this author would say ;) IMHO this book is the Best ever that I've read in decades in this genre!!! Contemporary fiction with romance, suspense, action packed, cartel, mafia, a strong kick-ass female heroine, a bad-ass hero with a soft touch at his core for family & friends! ... A wild roller-coaster ride of emotions will keep the pages turning! A unique storyline with great attention to detail hooked me from the get-go! ... Well-defined characters with the best entertaining dialogue & witty banter will keep the reader engaged & the pages turning! (I also learned some new words from various dialects ;) As a member of this author's fan club, I was fortunate to receive an ecopy to read in exchange for my honest review & I truly loved this & highly recommend this to all fiction lovers! (Due to some violence & sexy scenes, Adults 18+ ;) I cannot wait for more from this author!

Awesomely written. Adams creates two separate distinct worlds: a Mexican cartel and a lower income London district family. Each with it's own voice and background, multiple characters and family connections. Then she creates a plausible scenario that brings these two worlds together. The literal collision happens between the highest ranking hitman Quiqui and the strongest female character I've ever read, Natalia. He's responsible for building his cartel's empire in London and she's responsible for holding her family together and keeping the family business afloat. A common enemy, a neighborhood gang, creates an unlikely alliance that leads to a mutual respect. The story has constant action, a mystery who-dunnit, and flight across two continents--a real page-turner. See the underbelly of London and Mexican societies while also seeing the gold in bad boy & girl's heart.

This story was hard to put down, but I had to. It was only until I got off work though. Evidently, the boss frowns upon kicking your feet up on your desk to read while on the clock. Who knew?

With this read you are going to enjoy getting to know the strong female lead, Natalia. And who doesn’t love bad guy with a soft spot for a head strong woman who is more than capable of giving him a run for his money.

This is yet another great fast paced read from this author. It’s packed with the action and sexy that you come to expect from this author. If you haven’t read anything by AJ Adams yet, what are you waiting for? She is definitely on my list of favorites.

TCOI received a copy in exchange for an honest review. The only warning would be that this read contains violence and strong adult language/scenes. Enjoy!

The third volume in the Los Zetas Cartel collection, Dirty Dealings is also the tamest. To the extent that a novel that features a Cartel Enforcer as the hero can be 'tame.' Compared to the other two in the series - it is. Quique (Henrique) arrives in London to take retribution on whoever shot the local boss. Through a series of (improbable) events, he ends up in charge of a complex business deal and going toe-to-toe with Natalia. The lynchpin of her large London-based family, Natalia is as resilient and morally complex as the author's other heroines, but without the snarky inner monolog that lightens the other works. The steam factor is good, but without the kinky edge I've come to expect from AJ Adams. Several suspense/mystery subplots align and resolve nicely with an appropriate HEA. Okay rather than Good. 3.5 stars.

This was a really interesting story. Quique is part of the Mexican mafia sent to London to take care of a project while there he runs into Natalia a normal everyday British chick except she's not normal. She's done some things to protect her family and she would do it again. So Quique and Natalia have this love/hate relationship until about half way through the book and that's where most of the action happens. I found the second half of the book more interesting because it was one thing after another after another. The first half of the book is more the set up and description of both characters and their lives. I'm not used to reading mafia type stories so this was a really cool read.

Couldn't put this book down. When it did end I found myself wondering what happened next? The characters were both strong. The story line does have a lot to due with cartel dealings, and situations that might bother some. However the author rights with such love and passion you find yourself loving every aspect of the characters. If you have never read a book by this author you are truly missing out.

AJ has delivered once again! I can always look forward to her strong female characters, and she did not disappoint! Nats is tough as nails, but she may have finally found her match. Tons of anticipation and surprises, especially the cameo appearance of two of my favorite characters. Loved it!

I received an ARC from the AUTHOR AJ ADAMS in exchange for honest opinion. This is Mismousey very honest opinion of her book DIRTY DEALINGS.
Having read all of Ms Adams books that she has written. I have a feel of her writing style. And boy - with this one she did not let me down. Matter of fact - she took it over the top!!! This book is more than I ever expected. From the moment you open the cover of the fabulous and edge of your seat thrilling story. You are held not only held spell bound but also hostage. The Zeta have and will not let you go. You have this need to keep reading till you have reached the end. But then when you do - you left with wanting more of their story,
Ms Adams is a pure genius once she takes pen to paper as she creates this cartel .The way in which she has brought her characters to life - with such emotions and feelings. They have depth and detail - you are ale to picture them right before your eyes. As for the scenes in the story- they are detailed right to the smallest detail. You are able to Nat being beaten up by Smith and Quique having a hard time dealing with it.
Dirty Dealings is about Nat and Quique . Nat is running her families bar . So that her ex-sister-in-law and niece will be able to have money to live on. The guys that were suppose to run. Well they were running it into the ground and almost lost it. So she took it over for Millie. Now Quique has been sent to London by Zeta cartel to take care of some issues. Quique wants to buy the property she has just bought but she's not selling. In the mean time Nat has alot more issues and trouble to deal. Some one has kidnapped her niece. She has asked for help from the Zeta.
What will happen between Nat and Quique? IS Nat able to get her niece back? For all these answers and more YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK. This book has so many twist and turns in . I recommend it to all - it does have a lot of violence and adult language it. Mismousey gives this a firm 90 out of 5 mouse paws.NOW ADD THIS TO YOUR GOOD READ READING LIST THEN RUN AND GET YOUR COPY TODAY!!!

Enrique “Quique” Ramas is a man that lives side by side with violence. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings. Natalia Truelove works in the family business but has aspirations for more. You will find that at times it feels like she’s talking right to you.

Our author creates an interesting first meeting for these two characters. Once I read that scene I was hooked. I was impressed how Natalia has a lot of guts trying to get what she wants no matter the consequences. Something else that impressed me was that the romance didn’t start right away and that is something that kept me reading. Quique is not a stellar citizen either but in a way that didn’t stop me from enjoying his character.

This is a long book so don’t be afraid to put it down. I’m sure that the author won’t mind because you’ll be wanting to pick it back up before long. As I got into the beginning of this novel, I didn’t miss the lack of romance because I found myself wanting to get to know the characters first. Then once I got to know them if they wanted to form a relationship then that would be fine by me. This is a book that packs a lot of punch – it gives you a little bit of everything that will keep you on your toes. If you’re someone that likes to read mafia romance then you may want to check this title out. I look forward to my next book adventure by this author.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I think this is the best A.J. Adams book yet. Dirty Dealings is hard to put down. It had me ramped up from nearly the beginning, totally invested in Natalia and her family, and reconciling her life with the Zeta cartel.

Ms. Adams got the balance of action to backstory just right in the beginning--wheeled me right into it without losing me to any drawn out explanations about things in the past. This book just kept steamrolling forward, very rarely letting up in intensity.

I love how strong Natalia is. She's not someone I'd want to cross. I also love Quique for being a badass with a heart of gold. That Zeta cartel, they're some hardened criminals, but they do have a code that makes me want to root for them.

This book is dark with graphic violence, chaos and mayhem. There are a few "fully depicted love scenes" but sex is definitely not the purpose of this novel. I totally recommend it to anyone who can stomach heroes who don't flinch at violence, killing, and deceit to protect their loved ones--and the story in these pages is built well enough that I found myself in total agreement with everything the protagonists did to make the situation right.

(Fair to note that there is a lot of slang in this book, but if you are paying attention, the context will tell you what the words mean.)

Who doesn’t love a Mafia/Mexican Cartel story? Dirty Dealings is a Trans-Atlantic story about Quique, the head of the Zetas, a Mexican Cartel, who is sent to London to handle some Zeta business after the Jorge, the man in charge, is shot. While Quique is handling business like the bad ass boss that he is, he gets tangled with a no-nonsense bruja, a.k.a. Natalia, after punching her out. Despite his deadly reputation, Quique takes an unnatural shine to Natalia. Whether it be dodging the dirty plods, taking out rival gangs, saving kids from pedophiles, taking beatings, thwarting robberies, or helping him boost his rep, Quique sees that Natalia is his equal and worth her weight in gold.

Dirty Dealings gives us not only the budding affair between Quique and Natalia that is great entertainment. It also gives us some good mystery and action. The supporting characters are great. The Zetas characters are written with such personality that you don’t see them as just thugs. I actually liked each of the Zeta clan. They came across as smart, loyal, and dedicated to their Zeta family. It made you overlook all of their dirty dealings.

You will not be disappointed in picking up this gem.

This book puts him back in the depth of the Zeta mafia family.
Quique has gone to England to help figure out who was behind an assassination attempt and is dealing with a broken marriage and Natalia is dealing with her ex husbands family trying to help run the family pub and dealing with the unappreciative ex in laws. When one of Natalie's in law family goes missing she has to ask for outside help in the shape of Quique and the two are at loggerheads from the start.
Both are stubborn and gutsy and I loved the love/hate relationship between the two. Their interactions had me giggling so much and I loved watching the relationship grow.
This book wasn't as dark as AJs previous books but was packed with intrigue and gripping storylines and it made me realise that the stories are so good I didn't even notice or particularly miss that dark aspect.
Quique seems a lot less harsh than the other Zetas and it was a nice change. I loved the cameos again in this book but I could use a family tree now as it forgetting who's who from which storyline.
Another compelling read that I couldn't put down

This was a book that I liked but didnt love, so I am only giving it three stars. In Dirty Dealings we meet two 'families' that are known as cartel/gang/mercenary families with lots of enemies. Quique is introduced as a hard character who is really good at his job of security for the Zeta's. When he comes across Natalia, who is by ex-husband related to the Truelove family, he sure has met his match. She is a doesnt take shit from no-one type of gal and smart as a whip. I was intrigued by how much family means to her even though they were her exes family, she was there to help them out of a bind at the family bar while her ex-father in law was in prison. She is a hard worker and a talented chef. When their paths cross, Natalia gets punched in the face by Quique before he has a chance to notice it was a female who walked in on them 'settling score'. Quique has already flown halfway across the world from Mexico to London for business in an attempt to forget about his marital problems and move on. Now that Natalia is in the picture, with his lost watch to boot, Quique's life is about to get more complicated than he ever imagined.
