It was supposed to be a simple job for hacker Bliss access confidential files and turn them over to the CIA. But something went wrong—and now Bliss has a target on her back. With no idea who to trust, she heads straight toward the one man she hopes won’t turn her away.

And as much as he’d love to slam the door in her face, Sky isn’t wired to turn away anyone in distress.
Protecting Bliss won’t be easy. The files she stole are at the heart of a dangerous conspiracy, and someone is willing to do whatever it takes—including kill—to get them back. It’ll take all Sky’s considerable black-ops skills to keep Bliss safe—and all his willpower to resist falling into her bed, and her life, ever again…
Lynn Raye Harris is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of sizzling military romantic suspense novels and contemporary romance novels. She lives in Alabama with her husband (former military), her cat, and her American Saddlebred horse.
She nearly ruined his life. Now she needs him to save hers.
If you know me or follow my reviews, you already know that I'm a sucker for a good second chance romance. And if you add a little pent up anger after four years into the mix? Stick a fork in me. I'm done!
The chemistry and tension between Sky and Bliss was instant and absolutely incendiary. But secrets and betrayal brought their brief yet potent relationship to a fiery crash that almost cost Sky his military career. Now as a special operative for the HOT team, Sky thinks he left Bliss a distant yet painful memory in his past...until she shows up at his door begging for his help.
As a genius computer hacker, Bliss isn't lacking for work. Her skills are in high demand. But she hasn't forgotten the job that put Sky on her radar, and the one that ultimately caused her to betray him. She's never gotten over him but knows he'd never give her the time of today. But when a job gone wrong puts her life in danger, she doesn't know anyone else she trusts to protect her.
There's a lot of pent up anger and hidden secrets between Bliss and Sky. Sky is a downright ass to her for a good part of the book, and in his recollection, justifiably so. Bliss was another badass heroine that only Harris can write. I love how she creates these kick-ass heroines that also have just enough vulnerability to them to make them incredibly endearing. I loved seeing Sky's protective nature ultimately overshadow his resentment. The espionage and high octane suspense was the perfect thrill ride to take this romance straight into a page turning read. Yet another fantastic addition in this addicting series.

Another great HOT book from Ms. Harris. I loved every minute of it. Bliss "Briar Rose" and Sky "Hacker" have a past and boy does he want to make her pay for that, but in the end love conquers all. They were hot together, and he was great at coming to the rescue. Nice to see the boys from previous books. Last chapter is a tease for the next book, Wolf.
‘Hot Secrets’ pulls a former couple back together again in a fast-paced and relatively easy, flowing read. In many ways, it’s a classic Lynn Raye Harris RS read that I’ve gotten accustomed to, though I’ll be the first to admit that it works sometimes more than others.
Or it could just be that I love the military covert operations-type stories that bring the unsuspecting world to the brink of destruction, except that a small but extraordinary group of people help prevent the impending disaster while we obliviously all live to see another day.
Still, ‘Hot Secrets’ left me mixed. I did like the intriguing conspiracy theory Harris put forth—a huge amount of suspension of disbelief is clearly needed though—as well as the deft way the conflict is resolved while the puzzle is put together, but oh lord, what do you do when you absolutely hate a protagonist? Especially if it’s a half of a pairing you’re supposed to be rooting for as well?
Some characters just rub me the wrong way, and Bliss Bennett was one of them.
Living with a cold, unfeeling heart meant that Bliss annoyed the hell out of me. I found her self-absorbed, stupidly naive and remorseless for most part, vacillating between saying she’d self-righteously do it all over again (including destroying Sky in the process) and being supposedly sorry for the consequences of her actions.
That she’d only tried to apologise all those years later when she had a desperate need to be protected just showed her up as mercenary and calculative to the core, only admitting that she had no qualms about lying only when her back was pushed to the wall, even playing the victim as she talked about being ‘hurt’ as well in the dissolution of their short-lived marriage. Seeing how Sky stuck with her despite the initial, scintillating conversation as he dealt with his own anger showed him to be a way bigger person than I ever could be for a character whom I thought should have gotten way worse than what he’d dished out on her.
Given the rant, it’s probably safe to say that my rating is a middle-of-the-road one because of a protagonist I detested from start to end. There were so many things I’d hoped to happen in order for Bliss to redeem herself, but somehow that didn’t quite come and as a result, left me sputtering over her HEA that felt less than deserved.
I read everything HOT as soon as I can get my hands on it. There isn't a book in the series that I don't like although some are more favorites than others. This one was fantastic! I absolutely loved Bliss. She worked hard to overcome her roots and make something of herself. Her job caused her to betray her husband's trust for the greater good, and she lost him because of it. Sky had one goal after a deep family betrayal, and Bliss inadvertantly caused the loss of that dream. He can't forgive her.
When she finds herself alone in need of help, Bliss can only think of one person, Sky. To say Sky is reluctant is an understatement, more like hostile. He helps, but not for her sake. The situation turns out to be bigger than either thought, and HOT has to get involved. That's where things get fun. I love a good dose of my favorite characters. (By the way, I missed Ian Black in this one.) Bliss and Sky both begin to better understand what happened to their marriage, and their attraction burns just as hot as ever until Bliss is in mortal danger. Everything really picks up at that point.
I thought this story had a very current storyline and an exciting pace to go along with the heavy dose of steam. I really enjoyed it, and can't wait for more (more Ian would be great too.)
Dear lord I think this one was 100% my fav one. Literally so perfect and had my stomach in a constant state of butterflies. This is a classic enemies to lovers (or lovers to enemies to lovers) story, and it had the perfect amount of angst and passion and romance.
Sky is a rich boy whose family fell from grace when his dad was convicted of stealing money from his clients. After that he joined the army to give himself something worth doing. While in the army he met Bliss, a supposed consultant to an HP firm. They had a whirlwind romance and eventually got married. Happily ever after…not.
Bliss was actually a hacker set to take down Sky’s commander, but things kinda went wrong when she actually fell in love with Sky and married him. However she never expected him to get in trouble for his commanding officers treason, almost causing him to lose his entire army career.
Well four years later, a divorce and a whole lotta hate, Bliss is back in Sky’s life, and he’s not too happy about it. Sky, still a hacker for hire has gotten herself into a bit of trouble after stealing her targets file for the CIA, which ended up in someone breaking into her house and trying to kill her.
Now she’s relying on Sky to help her and keep her safe, much to Sky’s dismay. Sky (and Bliss) are both trying to fight their attraction for one another, yet Sky is dead set on the fact that he hates her and wants nothing to do with her. But a little bit of sexy time won’t hurt anything right? Ha wrong. Sky is now more confused than ever.
Yet Sky’s emotions and feelings are put to the test when Bliss is poisoned with Ricin, a deadly chemical that shuts down organs and eventually kills you. Not to mention she’s attacked again in the hospital, which really drives Sky crazy. (Can I say I absolutely love this kinda thing! Girl is put into harms way, maybe even a dire situation and the guy is losing his mind trying to save her while also realizing he loves her and doesn’t want to lose her.) (also Sky has lots of tats soooo)
So yeah, I definitely loved this book and will be thinking about it a lot. However, it’s now time to jump into Dean’s story, which I am so excited for!
Also grace is now heavily pregnant, Kat is six months pregnant, and Brooke and Cade are getting married after Grace gives birth!
What an amazing read! Sky and Bliss are such a hot couple. This book is full of chemistry between the two, danger in the form of threats made to them, and action with some of the HOT teammates helping Bliss and Sky. I always enjoy the story lines and sense of danger each one has. I liked the way this book was able to capture that all in one place. It made for a very interesting story. the fact that this couple use to be married and seem to still have feelings for one another was a pleasant surprise. I like the appearance of new members to the HOT series and look forward to learning about them as well as the other members who hopefully we will get to meet soon. This is a very well written story and a thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next book!
Lynn Rae Harris is one of the few authors that I want to instantly consume each of her new releases. HOT Secrets is a fantastic addition to the HOT series. This is a read in one sitting, must finish before I go to bed book!
Sky ‘Hacker’ Kelley and Bliss ‘Briar Rose’ Bennett were briefly married and then divorced more than 4 years before this story unfolds. Sky was the target of a job for Blair who was trying to get proof his commanding officer was selling secrets. Bliss didn’t intend to fall into bed or in love with Sky, but their chemistry was off the charts. When Bliss’s involvement in uncovering his commander’s wrong-doing and the subsequent fallout comes to light, Sky’s reaction to Bliss’s secrecy ends their marriage. To say things were messy between them would be an understatement!
When the book starts Bliss is in the midst of another hacking job that unexpectedly leads to someone breaking into her house looking for the electronic files she obtained. Bliss is a kickass heroine who is smart and able to get herself to safety, but she needs help figuring out why someone’s after the files. The one person she can somewhat trust is Sky, her ex-husband. She knows he isn’t going to want to help her, but he’s her only option.
Sky’s reaction to Bliss’s sudden reappearance at his door is mixed. He says he hates her and doesn’t want to help her, but he can’t control his body’s reaction to her. He reluctantly agrees to help her and gets support from a few of his HOT teammates and HOT HQ. As Bliss’s situation is revealed/uncovered and she’s shown to be innocent of trying to con someone or doing anything nefarious, Sky struggles to accept he may have been wrong about Bliss. He also starts to slowly rethink his reaction to what happened with his former commanding officer.
Both Sky and Bliss have a lot of baggage from what each of them experienced prior to their first meeting which caused them to react the way they did. Four years later they are each trying to talk more, learn about each other and listen instead of just reacting.
I loved when Mendez tells Bliss he is impressed with her resume and that he wants to hire her to be a part of HOT in front of Sky. That certainly was a twist Sky wasn’t expecting and goes to show how capable and legitimate Bliss’s skills really are versus his belief she’s a con woman.
Sky and Blair are very much equals. I think this is one of the few HOT books where the heroine is such a strong and capable woman. I love how Lynn Rae really changes up her heroines from book to book. In this book, Bliss is strong and capable physically and intellectually, but she is flawed emotionally because she really hasn’t ever felt loved.
This is yet another intense story that is jam packed with action, drama, intrigue and a very sexy love story. I loved it!
I was thrilled to receive an ARC so I could read this story before it was published! This is another must read installment in the HOT series. While this story could be read as a stand-alone, the reader who has read previous HOT novels will better appreciate seeing Miranda and Cowboy interacting with Bliss and Sky. Loved it!!
When Bliss Bennett shows up on the doorstep of her ex-husband Sky Kelley looking for help, he's not exactly inclined to help her. The only reason he agrees to even listen to what she has to say is because he sees the fear in her eyes. When Bliss tells him the whole truth, Sky can't help but get involved even though Bliss almost destroyed his life. As Sky and Bliss try to figure out who is trying to kill her as well as what is in the files she hacked, they have to work through the issues that brought the end of their relationship. HOT Secrets is an AWESOME addition to the HOT lineup. Ms. Harris has brought me back to the original feel of the HOT series with this book. I don't know if it's the action or the sexy geekiness but I loved every minute! Sky and Bliss are meant to be and you know it from the very start!
Another page-turning, sexy, action-packed HOT novel. I absolutely love this book series! Sky "Hacker" Kelley comes face to face again with the woman who broke his heart into pieces Bliss Bennett. Four years after their sorted history came to a head, she shows up on his doorstep needing help. Their past is filled with deceit, lies, mistrust and a failed five-month marriage. Due to the unforeseen circumstances bringing them back together, this couple embark on a journey filled with lots of twists and turns (good and bad). In the end, love prevails and the past is dealt with clearer understanding. Great read and I'm looking forward to the next book in this amazing military romance series. Happy Reading!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
Lynn Raye Harris's new installation to the Hostile Operations Team series is one of the best stories I've ever read! Sky and Bliss were married four years ago. A relationship can't survive on the foundation of lies. Fast forward to the present, and Bliss needs Sky's help. Can hard feelings be set aside to make Bliss safe again??? I couldn't put this book down, it was so well written and full of suspense and action. I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Sky Kelley. I'd definitely recommend this book for anyone who likes high action romances. Sky and Bliss's story is high quality and I would encourage everyone to read it.
Sky and Bliss have a chemistry that cannot be denied! Sky is the one of the best hackers around, hence one big reason why he is a member of HOT, but he has a strong sense of right and wrong. When the ex wife no one knows about knocks on his door needing his help desperately, he can’t turn her away, as much as he doesn’t trust her due to their history. What follows is a life and death situation filled with secrets, lies, danger and of course facing the past between these two hackers that have to learn to trust one another. Sky and Bliss will set your ereader on fire because they are that hot, sexy, smart (who says brains aren’t sexy? Not this girl!) and have to save the world while also finding a way to trust one another so they can get their happily ever after.
I devoured HOT Secrets yesterday. I could not put it down! I love a good second chance romance book, and Lynn Raye Harris did not disappoint us. HOT Secrets is a great addition to the series. It is sexy, suspenseful, and a page turner. Bliss is Hacker’s secret, and she’s about to infiltrate his world again in a big way. She gives Hacker and the Kid a run for their money. You will love this book, and the next one is set up nicely!!
Sky and Bliss..... A couple of hackers one works for HOT one contracts out to the government and privately, they were married at one time until it all went to crap and now she needs his help because he is the only one she has ever trusted, ever loved even if he hates her she needs him to keep her alive.
A riveting, vividly action-packed story from one of my all-time favorite authors, I absolutely love these guy's from HOT and the amazing women they fall for are just wonderful stories that make up a family where more often than not blood is not always thicker than water but brotherhood is the strongest bond ever.
Wow! Lynn Raye has done it again!! Sky and Bliss are the hottest couple yet. They were once married and then they weren't. Bliss gets in trouble and comes crawling back to Sky for help. This story has so much chemistry going on between Sky and Bliss that I thought the book might implode. I highly recommend this great story to everyone. I volunteered to read this ARC and give an honest review.
OMG!! I just love these soldiers more and more! Sky and Bliss thought they lost their HEA, but they took a different path to get there. Bliss is a hacker when she gets into trouble she turns to her ex-husband Sky. They heat up the sheets when they are reunited. Will Sky be able to save Bliss before it’s too late? Books packed with adventure, suspense and drama is this author’s style. I can’t wait to see what she has planned for us next!
Can't get enough of this series. I think this is the first time I've read a series of this many titles back to back. And now I have to wait for the next book... for another month :(
I love Ms. Harris's HOT series! Even the nerds in this book are hot. I will say that it isn't my favorite of the HOT series (I've read all of them now!), but it was really good and entertaining. Great action. Steamy. And more of a mystery than most.
The antagonism between the H/h went on a little long for me for them to be making love so soon (but they were married, so it's not falling into bed with a stranger at all). But once they learned to communicate and were allowed to communicate (this is cloak and dagger stuff!), then the real love and protective elements kicked in. I loved the scene at the hospital where all she had to whisper was, "Help me." Do not mess with these HOT heroes and the women they love.
Like the other novels in this series the narrative was fast paced and to the point, but it took me awhile to follow Hacker and Bliss's story. The technical aspects of the plot were confusing at first but the story finally came through all the jargon and was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
It’s no Secret that I love me some Lynn Raye Harris (yeah, I went there – I also love a stupid pun), so I knew I was going to love “HOT Secrets” before I read the first word. I loved that the plot was a little different that the others, that the characters were heavy-hitters in the IT world, and that their relationship wasn’t typical, either. Not just a second chance romance, but also an enemies to lovers-type story.
Yeah, “It’s Complicated” goes on both of their Facbook profiles, for sure.
Other things I loved: that the plot kept me guessing. Sometimes I think I know what’s coming, or have an inkling of what may be going on with a HOT novel – I’m rarely right, mind you, but it’s fun to speculate – but even if the answer to my question might seem obvious, the way the story gets there never is. “HOT Secrets” is a really good action-spy-suspense story that had a lot of twists I really enjoyed. I also loved that Bliss’ hacker handle is “Briar Rose,” since Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite fairy tales. (If you look closely, there are Sleeping Beauty themes very subtly woven through the book here and there – love it!) Love Bliss’ plucky character, and willingness to take that leap of faith, despite every reason never to trust another human being again. When the chips are down and she has nowhere else to turn, she knows that she can trust Sky’s rock solid integrity.
Things I didn’t love: it really, really hurts me to say it, but I didn’t love Sky. I don’t think I’ve ever NOT loved one of the HOT Operators before, and I wanted to love Sky, especially since he’s an IT guy – my kryptonite! I’m not giving anything away when I say this, because it’s in the book description: Sky and Bliss were married and got divorced. Because of their history he really hates her, and through what feels like most of the book, it’s a nearly blindingly irrational hatred. I get that he’s emotionally wounded and hurt, but good God man, seek help! I wanted to kick him in the rear more than once to make him see the illogic in his thinking. Bliss also has issues but at least she recognizes them – realizes they’re the motivation for the way she lives. She turns her weaknesses into strengths.
I was glad that the book ended the way it did. It redeemed Sky for me quite a bit, though I think they both still need a lot of therapy. Can you imagine couples therapy for HOT Operators? HA! Talk about dangerous situations – the Counselor would definitely need to be licensed to carry, and get hazard pay!
Overall, "HOT Secrets" is a really fun, steamy book that I'll read again and again.
PS: How could you have a book in the “HOT” Universe, call it “HOT Secrets,” fill it full of hackers and CIA spy-type stuff yet NOT have Ian Black show up?! You’re such a tease…**SNIFF!**
Sometimes when the past comes knocking, it knocks you square on your you-know-what.
Thats certainly the case when Bliss finds herself on Sky’s doorstep ... and boom-boom-pow, when his beautiful ex begs for him to keep her safe, all of his anger, hurt and mistrust from the past four years barrels against the wall he’d constructed around his heart.
Bliss knows that Sky has every reason to not trust her but where do you turn when the world has turned on you and someone is literally trying to kill you?
But from the moment her HOT protector agrees to help, I could feel that familiar sizzle starting to pop - a rush that is uniquely Lynn Rays Harris’ own brand of literary foreplay.
The “dance” between Sky wanting to do what is right and wanting to hold onto his anger for Bliss’ betrayal was electric.
Lynn’s carefully crafted characters are strategically developed (with military bearing that is both practical and believable) and I love that those personalities are intricately woven through other HOT family stories. It is that character “building” that I love the most about this series. I’ve been curious since Briar Rose was first briefly mentioned and seeing it all come full circle in a way that literally made my heart thud and swell, I couldn’t put this one down, as I begged for these two struggling souls to fight for their happily ever after.
More than anything, Lynn “gets” that romance and sex and relationships are not always rainbows and sunshine. In fact, we all know that any relationship has highs and lows and downright Bliss and Sky and every other character in this series is human ... filled with relatable flaws and pride and struggle and humor that make them not only relatable, but lovable.
You never forget your first love and you will have to see for yourself if Bliss can convince Sky that what they had was special enough to take a second chance on.
Lynn Raye Harris has the romantic suspense genre down, and the books in her H.O.T. series (plural, there's a lot of H.O.T.) live up to the name. I've only read a few so far and in no particular order; characters do cross over but each book works just fine as a standalone.
Bliss and Sky's story adds the second-chance trope to the mix, and a prologue set four years prior to the main story gives us the basics of what went down. When we return to the present, they meet again when Bliss tracks him down for help. A supposedly amazing hacker, she got mixed up in something bad, and in spite of the fact Sky hates her, she knows he's the only one she can truly trust. When her personal problem turns out to be a worldwide threat, the whole H.O.T. team gets pulled into the drama.
The action in this story is good and the romance both tense and sweet. Bliss did lie all those years ago, but it's hard to judge her for it; she was working a covert op. Sky eventually realizes it and angry attraction quickly morphs into something kinder. It felt a little abrupt to me though the author does work in a lot of talking and explaining that help make the shift believable.
If I could request any changes, it would be too see more of Bliss' supposed genius hacking skills. It feels like the minute she starts working with H.O.T, she's relegated to assistant status, and I wanted her to do something more...pivotal? And the other change is really dumb, but I'd pick a different name for Sky. I associate it as a woman's name (though it's awesome for either; his brother's name is Storm, so their parents clearly had a yen for meteorology) and kept reading it as if the heroine was saying and doing the things when it was really our hero. (Told ya it was dumb.)
Overall, this book was great fun, easy to read in a few relaxing hours.
I received a free copy of this book. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of ex-husband and wife books, and Lynn Raye Harris has just served us one of the best I’ve read yet. The newest in the HOT series, we’re told the story of Sky ‘Hacker’ Kelley and Bliss ‘Briar Rose’ Bennett. Bliss is a professional hacker for hire, and four years previously she was hired to find proof that a military captain was involved in something shady. One of his men was Sky, and Bliss decided to get closer to the target by getting friendly with his men, but she never anticipated falling into bed with him two hours after they met, marrying him a month later, or him ending it five months after that because he found out about her assignment.
Bliss regrets Sky finding out the way he did and she regrets their marriage ending, because their chemistry was explosive. When her latest assignment appears to make her a target, she turns to the only man she’s ever truly trusted, knowing he’s too good of a man to turn her away.
Sky wants to, because this woman – this woman he can’t stop being attracted to, even though he wants nothing to do with her – almost ruined his career and certainly ruined his trust in relationships. When he realises Bliss really is being targeted, he agrees to help her and brings the HOT team into it when they discover what’s going on – but she has to stop lying to him, hard for a woman who trusts nobody.
The mystery of who wants Bliss dead starts to unravel, and the exes finally give in to the lust and desire that continues to haunt them. Once they actually start to communicate without telling lies and hiding truths, they find that perhaps it’s just not chemistry in the bedroom that they share.
Another five-star read from this author. If you haven’t read any of her books, you’re really missing a treat.
The HOT Secrets in this story unfold in a story of love and redemption, fear and faith, and finally the understanding that the only way two people can build a life together is with full and complete trust. I enjoyed every second of reading this story and getting to see both old and new characters in actions, but my favorite moments were the quiet times between Hacker and Bliss as they finally took the time to talk and get to know the deeper thoughts of one another. Maybe had they taken that step in the past their relationship would have survived the problems they encountered without crumbling, but we’ll never know now. Sky more than earned his name in this novel, hacking his way into my heart, as well as finding a way to show Bliss that she could take a chance on them a second time. Sky proved to be a sexy and dangerous man, even if he was an asshole for the first part of the book, but once he comes to terms with the mistakes they both made in the past he becomes the man –and the mate to Bliss—he was always meant to be. Bliss on the other hand was a woman that I could see others disregarding as a superficial and money-hungry type that care little about the feelings of others as she steps on them to get what she wants. Once we get to know her, we can see that she is cut from the same cloth as all of the HOT operators, maybe without some of the more deadly skills, and one who is always willing to do what needs to be done. When she started working with Sky and his team to figure out who is after her, Bliss becomes my favorite lady in recent novels, and I was thrilled to get to see them in action together. Even when they were sniping at once another we could see that the passion remained between them, but once they joined forces and stopped fighting their feelings, the heat about blew me away. I loved watching them find their way back together, just in time to keep them both alive and bring the bad guys to justice. Whatever comes next will be amazing I know, but I am hoping it is just as fast paced and sexy as Sky and Bliss’s journey back to love and happily-ever-after.
Harris has sucked me into a world full of HOT men and I think that Sky and Bliss might be her most sizzling story yet. They had 6 amazing months together before it all imploded, a relationship built on lies is bound to come crashing down. 4 years on and both Sky and Bliss are living their lives, when Bliss gets herself into hot water there is only 1 person she can trust and ends up on his door begging for help. When the follow-on events of her latest job continue to follow her, Bliss is in serious danger and the HOT team will do everything they can to solve the mystery.
Sky is not only a first-class hacker he is also an elite member of the HOT team, bringing his smarts, good looks and muscle, Sky is not in the market to get his heart stomped on again. Bliss is an extremely smart hacker, she has the world at her fingertips and with money at her disposal she is living the life she always dreamed of.
From the moment I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down, the chemistry between Sky and Bliss is off the charts and even after 4 years they both know that they cannot keep their hands off each other. Harris has done it again, she has hooked me in and kept me on the edge of my seat wondering who was the bad guys.
I personally loved this book and I highly recommend it, although it is part of a series each book is a standalone. This is my 3rd HOT book that I have read I they just keep getting better and better, I cannot wait to read Wolf’s story I am counting down till I can get the next instalment of HOT men.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Hot Pursuit (Hostile Operations Team, #1) Hot Mess (Hostile Operations Team, #2) Hot Package (Hostile Operations Team, #3) Dangerously Hot (Hostile Operations Team, #4) Hot Shot (Hostile Operations Team, #5) Hot Rebel (Hostile Operations Team, #6) Hot Ice (Hostile Operations Team, #7) Hot and Bothered (Hostile Operations Team, #8) Hot Protector (Hostile Operations Team #9) HOT Addiction (Hostile Operations Team, #10) Hot Valor (Hostile Operations Team, #11) Hot SEAL (HOT SEAL Team #1) Hot SEAL Lover (HOT SEAL Team #2) HOT SEAL Rescue (HOT SEAL Team #3) HOT SEAL Bride (HOT SEAL Team #4) HOT Angel (Hostile Operations Team #12) HOT SEAL Redemption (HOT SEAL Team #5) HOT SEAL Target (HOT SEAL Team #6)
This is Bliss Bennett and Sky “Hacker” Kelly’s story. Bliss and Sky were married but she nearly cost him his military career. Now years later when she needs help she runs to him. Will he help her after everything she almost cost him years ago? As much as Sky would love to turn her away he just can’t. Determined to help her and protect her he wonders if it will be worth it in the end. What if the same thing happens again? Is he willing to trust her? Can these two figure out the clues and keep the files safe? Or are they about to lose everything?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
This is the 13th book of the series. However, you will understand more if you’ve read earlier books of this series. Once again we have met our hero in other books in the series. You also have some interaction with some of the others from the other books in the series.
If you want to read what the book is about, read above the reviews.
Our hero has a past he’s told no one about especially the ex-wife. However, when she shows up on his doorstep one night, he doesn’t care and wants her gone. He’s been abused enough in his life by his parents and then by his ex-wife who lied to him and nearly cost him his career. He wasn’t about to let her do that again.
Our heroine is running for her life. She knew it was a huge risk going to her ex-husband’s house, but she has no one else to turn to not even her handler who was acting weird. She was doing a small job of copying some files someone wanted and then leaving. It all went smooth until someone shows up at her house wanting the files almost no one knew about. Now only to convince her ex-husband to help her and keep her alive.
The plot is a good one and has twists. I liked how the brought the computer world into the series. I can understand where the hero doesn’t want to trust the heroine because I wouldn’t either. However, when they go out of the way and are kept safe by some of the hero’s team while the try and figure out what they are dealing with and why people want these files so badly. When the person the heroine got the files from dies from a lethal injection, they know it’s bad.
I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series will bring us.
HOT Secrets is another book in this series that I have listened to. This series is slowly but surely becoming my new favorite series. Hot Secrets has everything an entertaining novel needs: Intriguing characters, a suspenseful plot and sizzling romance. Bliss is a computer hacker whose life is turned upside down after her last job. It starts with a break-in at her house, but she has taken precautions and manages to escape. But she trusts almost no one and there is only one person she trusts with her life and that is her ex-husband Sky. When the two of them meet again, there is a huge sizzle, but feelings are out of place at first, because Bliss's last assignment has to be scrutinized first. The story captivated me from start to finish. This was partly due to the great plot with lots of suspense and action, but also to Bliss and Sky. Sky is just hot, but also stubborn when it comes to the past. Bliss, on the other hand, is a very tough and strong woman who doesn't let things get her down easily. It was very entertaining to unravel the mysteries surrounding the USB stick and its far-reaching consequences. Once I started listening, I couldn't stop. I really enjoyed getting to know another HOT employee.
Gregory Salinas and Raven Rose are absolutely brilliant narrators. They know how to bring this story and the characters to life, portray emotions believably and charm the listener with their recital. Well done and I have to admit that I am addicted to this series. I'm already looking forward to the next volume!
