White Monarch #2

Violent Ends

Rate this book
I had a life, love, and future to give.
Until my enemy took a wife.

The devil has a name, and it’s Cristiano de la Rosa. On my wedding day, he was the last man I expected to see standing at the altar. He wants to make me his queen. His brother wants to rescue his princess.

Getting Cristiano to lose control becomes the name of the game, and the stakes are life and death. But as truth and lies blur, loyalty is tested, and our chemistry threatens to reach the melting point, the prize grows less clear. Either freedom no longer means what I think it does, or Cristiano is as devious as everyone says, and he’s mastered the art of playing my mind.

All I know for certain is that nothing is certain. And all you need to know? This is a love story.

But even love stories have to end.

Stumped. For. Words!!! You can knock me down with a feather and give me hammer so I can knock the traitors to a pulp!! Jessica chokes you with a sensational story that will send a shiver up your spine
Gawwwwd Calavera Cartel is rubbing off on me. NOTHING s what it seems which is a revelation for me and Natalia De La Rosa. ALL men in her life are trading her for power. ALL of them, I was so pissed, but kudos to her, this pupa is morphing into a steel spine Monarch Butterfly. Her voice is not heard or just drowned in the cocophany of He said ; He said.

description

Trying to make sense of the confusing fog surrounding her and trying to place her confidence into the cards she's been dealt with. She's not handing out her respect and trust, but instead making them earn it. Her only allegiance and loyalty lies only with HER!👏👏👏👏
I loved her strength and mettle.
“I am not your pawn,”
“You can move me around, buy me, sell me, berate me, but you won’t break me. I’ve known the greatest pain a woman can—first losing my mother, and then having my heart pulverized and my love violated so ruthlessly. But I haven’t broken yet, and I won’t.”

description

This book is more about character development and growth chart. Natalia is taking hesitant, reluctant steps towards maturity, her eyes are opening and she's being forced to look at the Vista in front of her a little more closely and whole lot clearly.
Pulverized heart and shifting loyalties are the central theme.
Very bold story, will shake your shoulders till you see the truth

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG. I. CAN'T. FREAKING. BREATHE!

That ending...

NO WORDS.

I seriously don't know what to do with myself right now. I'm reeling, gasping, freaking the fuck out. How am I supposed to survive until Violent Triumphs? How? Tell me howwwwww?!

This storyline is so my fucking jam. It's wild, it's chaotic, it's intense, and it's gritty. The detail, the well thought-out-ness (yes, I know that's not a word, lol)... I just love it. I literally can't inhale the words fast enough. Add in the delicious, drive-you-insane slow burn that fires to life between Cristiano and Natalia, and it is simply EVERYTHING. To say I'm living for this couple right now is an understatement.

I. AM. SO. OBSESSED.

I can't get enough of their world, and I don't know what the hell to do with myself as I wait on the next book. That ending KILLS. It slaughters your soul and leaves you bleeding out for more more more more. It's majorly. massively. wow!

Truly, The White Monarch series is, for me, a bookworms dream. This is everything I want in a story. The writing is beyond exceptional! And the characters are larger than life. They own each and every page. Cristiano and Natalia become more real in Violent Ends. And I loved getting into the nitty-gritty of who our hero truly is--that man is a BEAST, so magnetic, dark and decadent and alluring! Just thinking of his name gives me shivers. And Natalia ... God, this girl tests the readers patience. She pushes and pulls, pushes and pulls, pushes and pulls, and it's downright torturous.

Overall, what more do I say? Get ready for a ride, get ready to feel all the things. I give this FIVE STARS. Five million stars! I will never get over these two. Their story has so much grit, so many layers, and I'm so in love. I truly think The White Monarch series is mafia PERFECTION. I'm addicted to every detail. An unforgettable sequel! I am blown away! And I NEED MORE like yesterday!

description Hmmm...I am not completely sure how I felt about this book. Overall, I enjoyed it. This author has some fantastic writing skills for sure. I still love Cristiano and he was the best part of this book by far. However, I spent 98% of this book wanting to cunt punch Natalia. Good gravy this chick has to be one of the most annoying heroines I have ever read. I also felt like this book was mostly a filler book. It didn't feel like much happened other than Cristiano and Natalia dancing around each other. Last, it ends on a crazy cliffhanger. I was engaged enough I will read book three. That said, I am really hoping for a less annoying heroine, more sex, and more action. Fingers crossed...

Natalia Cruz is a beautiful 20 yr. old woman who grew up in Mexico in a world full of danger, and power, where loyalty and family was everything. She's ready to marry the man she see's her future with, when things take a drastic turn. Between two brothers she's caught in a game where her fate has been sealed by the actions of others. She feels tricked, betrayed, manipulated, angry, and doesn't know who to believe or trust anymore. One wants to rescue his princess, and the other wants to make her his queen. A debt is paid as two powerful families are joined, and the result is Natalia feeling as if she's lost her freedom. She feels insignificant, and alone as she navigates her new reality.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Natalia finds herself at the mercy of the dark, rich, powerful, ruthless Cristiano de la Rosa. He's dangerous, controlled, dominant, and surprisingly attentive. She couldn't ignore how devastatingly handsome he was, or how he unsettled her with one look. He was sensual, alluring, and it would be so easy to fall under his spell. She had to resist him and the explosive chemistry between them. She could feel his hunger for her as she continually tested his control. When he was close she felt consumed by passion. It was inevitable he'd devour and destroy her if she gave in to her desire, but over time she began to crave and want the man she knew she should fear. She was confused as she kept uncovering more layers to this complex man who wore many faces. She didn't know anymore where her loyalty was, and questioned was Cristiano the hero, or the villian?

I devoured the second instalment of the White Monarch series!!! I am hooked on all that is going on, and especially the sexual tension between Natalia and Cristiano! Whew! These two if they ever get around to doing the deed... it’s going to be absolutely explosive! It has been a bit frustrating watching Natalia fight her attraction to her husband, and yet I do understand her hesitation.
I am eager to read the conclusion to this trilogy because I have a feeling that she is going to come into her own woman finally!!!

I had been warned there was a major cliffhanger at the end of this book... and there sure was! I am so glad that I waited to read this trilogy all at once so that I can dive right into the conclusion! I am eager for all of the secrets to come to light. I also am hoping for a certain couple to give into there urges!!!

This trilogy is going down as my favourite for 2019! I don’t have a lot this year but The White Monarch series for sure belongs at the top of the list!

Someone should remind me that I have only finished my midterms not the whole semester, and I shouldn’t be binge reading a new series because I can’t stop!

This series is really captivating and I can’t stop reading it. I definitely loved this one more than the first book. Natalia still kind of getting on my nerves, because everything is so obvious and she still choose to be so naive. I’m still wishing for a character development tho. I feel it coming. I really liked Christiano in book one, but I loved him more in this book. Now I’ll keep on ignoring my responsibilities and start the third book because that ending was awful!

I am in angst heaven 🙌🏼 frustratingly beautiful angst heaven!

This book picks off where Violent Delights ends and let me tell you, I have been waiting patiently for this book. Jessica Hawkins always delivers and this is no different. Violent Ends is a slow burn torture of unimaginable sexual raw chemistry and power.

I am currently obsessed with Cristiano. You know the saying, sinfully hot? This man is the perfect example. I felt a mixture of fear and heart palpitating giddiness every time I read a part of the book that had Cristiano in it.

I am not going to deny the fact that I screamed bloody murder after that ending! I was in a blissful state of mind when BAM! That bloody cliffhanger!

I hate reading 'reviews' where the entire storyline is spilled so don't be surprised that this is a spoiler free review. Go in blind, enjoy it! You won't regret it.

Violent Ends is suspenseful, exciting and deliciously sinful. Do I recommend this series? HECK YA!

The ruling of a kingdom, the takedown of dangerous threats, along with sacrifices and betrayals are all in a days work when you’re a part of the cunning and cutthroat world of one of the most powerful cartels in Mexico. Violent Ends showed us a Violent Delights and the repercussions of what some the characters will have to face going forward.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After barely surviving the cliffhanger in book one, I was more than ready to get some answers and see how this new dynamic was going to play out between Natalia and Christiano. Not a stranger to violence or the drug world, Natalia knows that the one that is golden besides power, is loyalty. After making a huge sacrifice for the sake of a loved one, those seven letters will ultimately turn out to be a blessing and a curse. With Christiano now in the mix, can these two survive each other without burning an empire to the ground?

“I am not your pawn. You can move me around, bury me, sell me, berate me, but you wont break me.

I have to say that as much as I enjoyed Christiano in the Violent Delights, I fell in love with him in this book!! He gave everything that I was asking for and he never held back when it came to saying what he wanted and going after it. From the very first chapter he was this force of nature and you wanted nothing more than to be swept up in his aura regardless of the consequences and don’t even get me started on the dirty talk!!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

As for Natalia, she irritated me in this book and I wanted more from her. I couldn’t understand some of her own conclusions despite the writings being written on the wall and she way too naïve for me. I wanted her to be stronger instead of her saying the words but at the same time, I feel she’s going to give us everything in the final book so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that.

Now let’s talk about this cliffhanger shall we? My anxiety just went straight through the roof with that ending!! What are we supposed to until November? That’s what I said folks, NO.VEM.BER!! that’s straight up torture for me! With that being said, I can’t wait to see what’ going to happen next. Will Christiano have a Queen by his side to help him rule? Or will they no longer have an empire?

I have DIED. A THOUSAND. DEATHS.

JESSICA HAWKINS WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!

That ending.

DEAD. DEAD. DEAD.

Jessica really nailed it when it comes to this incredible series. Book 2 completely lived up to the hype, passion, and complete madness that took precedent in my heart.

To not give anything away, and trust me it’s hard if you haven’t touched book one, i will keep this short and spoiler free.

Cristiano steals the show. This man. I am next level obsessed. For a Cartel leader who shows no emotions, this man was fierce, lethal, and without even trying, completely romantic. I am TEAM C. ALL THE WAY. Natalia is still figuring out what is right and wrong, who she can trust and how her heart has done a 180, even though she still doesn’t recognize that last part. I loved seeing her blossom into the queen she was born to be.

The action, the suspense, the passion, the angst. Gah. Jessica has blown my heart and my mind. I am utterly spent. I feel like I’ve ran a marathon. The only thing keeping me going is knowing it’s not over yet. I am so wrapped up in these characters. I never want to let them go.

JD absolutely obliterated my heart.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, READ THIS BOOK.

"You’re going to learn to rule from it, because that’s what it means to be Calavera royalty. And this dress is far more suitable for a queen.”
― Jessica Hawkins, Violent Ends

Anyone who knows my reviews knows they are often on the long side. Not however for this jewel of a book.

I have decided to leave my short and sweet review exactly as is. Why? Because every word I said is true. This book single handedly got me reading the Romance Genre again AND got me reading a series which I usually do not do.

I have binge read the whole series. Stay tuned for my review on "Violent Triumphs".

My review is below. To Author, Jessica Hawkins....one word....WOW!

My Review:

The fact that I am up at 3:02 AM having just finished this amazing novel and am fighting an urge to stay up all night and binge read the final book in the series should tell people what an extraordinary and addicting book this is and I hope anyone who sees this review, reads the whole series immediately.

#1 Violent Delights — 3.75 stars
#2 Violent Ends — 4.25 stars

i really think you ladies are sleeping on Christiano de la Rosa when youre all drooling over Danielle Lori’s anti-heroes, but i guess that just means i can have him for myself and i shall be content with being “not like other girls” by loving an underrated cartel romance. 💅🤪

i had to knock down one star because at one point i realised that Natalia reminded me a lot of Persephone from Scarlett St. Clair’s Hades & Persephone series. once i saw it, i couldnt friggin unsee it and that pissed me off cause i hadnt had issues with her on my first read.

but this time her constant distrust of Christiano and her accusations were OTT and annoying. not to mention, i was insulted on behalf of Christiano when he’d done nothing but protect, take care, and treat her like a queen. she nearly ruined the book for me. 😤

⭐️ 5+ "Cristiano" Stars ⭐️
I just finished my read of Violent Ends and… O.M.G! My mind is reeling with so many thoughts right now that I don’t know how to put them into coherent words and sentences! To say that I loved this book is an understatement. I ADORED this story that was perfection on all levels! Seriously, Jessica Hawkins managed to fully enrapture me with this second novel of the White Monarch Trilogy. I was already obsessed with this series after Violent Delights, but now it’s even more true. The angst, sexual tension and secrets piling up had me hypnotized all read long.

"Her fear both excited and calmed me. Her tears were mine to collect and soothe. Her pussy was mine to devastate and worship. And lick and explore and fuck."

I need to talk about Cristiano because… THAT MAN!!! I fell under his ruthless charm in Violent Delights, but this time around he stole my heart completely. He’s so intimidating and oozes power and confidence mixed with raw sexuality. He’s just so sinfully attractive and the kind of hero I love. He’s an enigmatic man for sure, but this book reveals new aspects of his personality that I cherished particularly. As the leader of the Calavera Cartel, he can be pitiless and is feared by most, but he has an irrefutable fondness for Natalia. Under his never-ending sexy innuendos, he also hides a caring side. He definitely develops a fierce protectiveness and possessiveness over Natalia.

Natalia shows a newfound defiant attitude that I enjoyed particularly. She certainly doesn’t easily bow to Cristiano’s commands. It only creates more sparks between them in these moments. Her new husband is the enemy, but secrets are unveiled that makes her doubt everything. Her undeniable attraction to Cristiano is so conflicting with all the questions still not answered about her mother’s death.

This couple is so intoxicating! Seriously, every interaction between those two is electric. Charged with so much animosity, but also desire! The dirty things Cristiano says are just so seductive! He’s the embodiment of sinfully hot and tempting! I just couldn’t get enough of this well-matched couple.

"He was the law in a lawless land, a dark hero for those who needed one. A protector."

I could rave and rave about this phenomenal read, but you just need to grab Violent Ends to witness for yourself the masterpiece this story is. Jessica Hawkins with her mesmerising prose and complex protagonist forged a remarkable world that I can’t get enough. After that shocking ending I need answers! I can’t deal right now!!!

4 ⭐'s

This book embodiments everything that is typical of a middle book. The H/h first appear to dislike each other and have ulterior motives to being together but deep down they have feelings...feelings that include a whole ton of lust making the sexual tension over the top.

Then there's all the reveals...Natalia's mind is blown and Cristiano is seeing more of the woman he thought she was and he challenges her every step of the way.

Then Natalia has the biggest reveal of all and that's when all hell breaks loose leaving us hanging with that horrible, frustrating cliffhanger that we have to wait a whopping FIVE months to find out what happens. Gotta love it!

So yeah.... can you say filler book? They’ve been married this entire book and he gets a blowjob at like 75% that’s IT in the sexy department. Nah don’t worry about taking care of her bro. Cool. Nice. No not cool... or nice. So much beating around the bush (no pun intended) and that ending is a bit to TSTL for me. He only took two guys with him? Sure yeah that’s a good idea. And after knowing his drink was drugged he just hangs out with his old flame (great idea) until he finally decides to leave the party. And how exactly did someone break into his fortress when he left alllll of his other men behind for her? That’s the kind of thing that boggles the mind. Don’t get me started on her behavior throughout the entire story. She drove me nuts. I am seriously sick of this trilogy money game. Great writers are losing fans over this and it’s sad.

From a seamless flow of enchanting moments and enthralling intricacies, I’ve found myself totally charmed and unconditionally enamoured by this sinfully decadent series. Violent Ends is more sordid, full of wicked sexual tension, rife with inescapable angst and featuring the filthiest, dominant anti-hero—the outright debauched insinuations increased tenfold— all weaved together to create a devious, sexually heated and emotionally raw narrative.

Her fear both excited and calmed me. Her tears were mine to collect and soothe. Her pussy was mine to devastate and worship. And lick and explore and fuck.

I have been officially ruined by Cristiano de la Rosa. His unfathomable series of hidden facets and untold secrets, threaded together beautifully, manifests itself into an unreadable, ruthless man doused in confidence, lascivious domination and raw sexuality. Despite the inexorable intimidation in Cristiano, it is soothed by an unforeseen sweetness and fondness for Natalia, creating an attractive, irresistible allure to this merciless character. He will leave you wanton and compelled, ready to spontaneously combust and unashamed in your attraction to this dangerous, but caring man.

I stared at him, utterly perplexed at the puzzle before me. This was exactly what I’d feared. Not knowing whether to hate him or to feel something else entirely.

Natalia Cruz’s defiant attitude matures—she’s less naive, more fierce—with an unrivalled stubbornness and closed-mindedness to follow it. In some aspects, her inevitable confusion, mistrust and aversion is understandable, but the continuous complex warring between body and mind becomes frustrating. Once certain rumours are justified, secrets are unveiled and brutally honest truths are delivered, Natalia’s harsh judgments are challenged, steadily changing into acceptance that made is easy to love her once again.

For every door she slammed, I would open another. I'd pursue her. I'd break down that defiance until I found myself in her sweet core. She would cross over into the darkness. And I'd be waiting with open arms.

Powerfully seductive and beautifully devilish, Cristiano’s dominant attitude, brimming with undeniable wickedness and intense fervor, is an irresistible enticement. Full of animosity, but eased by desire and soothed by flourishing affection, Natalia’s inner submissive blossoms in slight measures in this slow burn romance, leaving me absolutely thrilled to discover what kind of connection this couple will have.

Walking that fine line between hate and admiration only seemed to kindle our sexual attraction.

Violent Ends is all-consuming and angst-ridden, rendering you entranced; your heart erratic, your mind chaotic and emotions racing tenfold. Compelling in deliverance, this romance won't disappoint—Jessica Hawkins amplifies the sensations and heated connection budding between Natalia and Cristiano as it continues down a dark albeit wonderfully satisfying path.

I vowed to myself that I wouldn’t read this book and sadly I failed. I suppose it can be blamed on curiosity I wanted to see if it was possible for Natalia tone a less naive pathetic human person and I wanted to know what would happen. And the end result was my pity for Cristano for falling for such a ridiculous person. Natalia is literally the worst.

The book picks up where the first left off... in the church after the wedding of doom. Even after witnessing firsthand Diego’s disregard for her life, love and safety Natalia is still stupidly obsessing over her. And Cristano whisks her off to her new home with him. Absolutely nothing that was revealed about the town he took over surprised me at all I saw that coming a mile away. I also saw Natalia’s inability to comprehend anything beyond whatever Diego told her no matter what was right in front of her stupid face.

Did I mention I don’t like her? Really the story could be better without her. No matter how much truth and reality she in confronted with or is playing out right in front of her she is apparent deaf dumb and the stupidest person in the world. Why are these brothers fighting over her? Can’t see her appeal.... well Diego does have his extremely long game in play and Cristano... well that’s still creepy even though he’s the only likable person in the book. There are no circumstances where talking about/remembering holding your wife as a baby or watching her grow up is not creepy and weird and highly unappealing.

Anyway back to the story...

So Natalia is being a spoiled brat as is her MO while Cristano is trying to be nice and help her move forward with their new life together... yes I get it their marriage happened in the worst way but all she does is whine about being a prisoner when she’s never treated badly nobody is holding her captive and all he seems to do is try to help her be less pathetic. This version of her that he has in his head seems like a far better person than the real one. All she does is whine and act like he’s trying to hurt her but at the same time she goes out of her way to try to force him to be the one to force her to have sex?! Instead of just admitting to herself she wants to do anything with him she engages in stupid games to try to make him force her to prove to herself that he’s a band person. Even after she finds out the truth about him. No he’s not a nice or good guy he does bad things very bad things but he’s not the person people make him out to be and he’s a fool for falling for her.

There was a point when I almost thought this girl was growing a backbone but... silly me. I do get that the circumstances of her relationship with Cristano are crazy but really all she does is act like a brat. No matter what he says or does she’s always arguing and fighting him for no real reason if he does something nice she never sees it as such it’s always a problem. And he tries to help her so she can stand on her own and not need anyone to protect her to treat her the way she always wanted to be treated not like a delicate princess but like a real person. Of course because she difficult that’s no good too. So it’s funny that Natalia with her damsel ways has the nerve to say Pilar has no backbone... excuse me while I laugh hysterically at that one.

Another thing... For how naive and prudish Natalia is you would think that when she went away to boarding school that it was actually code for was sent to a convent. I find absolutely everything about her frustrating to no end. And how does she not know what he’s trying to? Jazmin all but told her. I was kinda hoping that she would push her off the balcony and we could be done with Natalia’s pitiful annoying life. Unfortunately she will live to annoy another day and make all the wrong choices even when she admits to herself that she’s doing things wrong or not seeing the whole picture clearly. But I suppose I shouldn’t expect her to see anything obvious that’s right in front of her face since in her whole life she never has before.

If this story was just the brothers struggling for power and trying to outmaneuver each other and Costa stuck in the middle of these boys took in... it would still be interesting. Natalia doesn’t bring anything interesting to the story she’s just there to annoy everyone and make life unnecessarily difficult and ignore any type of truth or sense. Her father treats her like a child because that’s what parents do, Diego spent a lifetime manipulating her for his own ends and Cristano just wants to let her spread her proverbial wings and become less of a doormat damsel. And Natalia herself just wants to be difficult as if that’s the best way to become independent.

Most of this book was just Natalia complaining and whining and being a brat. I said before that I wasn’t going to read the second book but obviously that was a lie that I told myself. And I knew it would end on a cliffhanger of course. I would like to say I won’t read the last book either but I’m far too curious for my own good. And maybe I want to know who really killed Natalia’s mother my money was always on Diego but who knows about that one. I would I suppose have to read the next book to find out how it ends. The problem is that the story isn’t bad most of the characters aren’t bad it’s just Natalia she’s the damseliest damsel that ever damseled. There is almost no hope for her but I still kinda wanna know what happens.

"You don't live in the ivory tower anymore. You own it. You're going to learn to rule from it, because that's what it means to be Calavera royalty."

Violent Ends is a great and enjoyable follow-up to Violent Delights. I was looking forward to seeing Natalia grow stronger and be less naive, because that was one of the things I didn't like about her in the first book. Thankfully, she was able to see some of the truths about certain characters. She was strong and independent and didn't just roll over and die after being forced into marrying Cristiano. She had heard rumors about him and thought he was one of the worst guys around. However, not everything is as it seems. It did take her a couple of chapters to open her eyes and see what was really going on. I am glad it didn't take the whole book. I definitely liked her more in this book and want to see how she will grow even further.

"She was hurting but I wouldn't pity her. She'd been bent but not broken, as she'd said. It was necessary in order for her to come back stronger and one day taker her place as my queen."

Cristiano is a great character and I loved getting to know him better. He is such a great anti-hero and has a huge heart. He is definitely book boyfriend material and he really knows how to seduce. I loved seeing Natalia and him grow closer together. There is very strong chemistry between the two, and I think it is time for Natalia to give in to her needs. He is a very patient man and will not give up until he gets what he wants and needs. I enjoyed seeing him in his natural environment and interact with his people. Violent Ends has a cliffhanger ending, but it didn't really bother me that much. However, I am excited to see what will happen in the next book.

"For every door she slammed, I would open another. I'd pursue her. I'd break down that defiance until I found myself in her sweet core. She would cross over into the darkness. And I'd be waiting with open arms."

3,5 STARS: TWO BOOKS LATER AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T BANGED🤦‍♀️🤬💩

The hero, Christiano, was PERFECTION! He's basically Rhysand, but make in cartel version 🥵😍🔥😈💘👑

Sadly, the heroine is no Feyre 🤦‍♀️🤣: she's weak, whiny, obtuse for the purpose of being obtuse, takes too much time to see what's right in front of her eyes and EVEN THEN refuses to acknowledge the truth. She's the worst what this book has to offer and I STRUGGLED with the rating so much only because of her...

Now listen, about the $ex 😬 or the lack thereof. I wouldn't normally consider it an offense against the reader, the lack of it, IF THE BOOK ALLOWS IT. There are plenty of clean romances that are equally convincing, powerful reads without the smut. BUT! This book is full of the $exual tension between the two main characters, they talk about it, they both clearly want it, the whole premise of the book if actually how hot and dominant the hero is...Yet they never do it! 🤡😂💀 This game drags on and on and on, and NOT IN A FUN WAY!

But what is most frustrating about this trilogy so far is the fact that we can't really travel through the plot with the heroine. You know how there are heroines who experience all these emotions, doubts, feelings and you're RIGHT THERE WITH THEM? Well...THIS IS NOT THAT
KIND OF BOOK
🛑🛑🛑 Because the heroine is so slow, she's STILL not trusting the hero or not seeing the most obvious answer, while we, as readers, already surpassed her and want to go quicker through the plot, but this turtle is STILL behind! 🤬🤦‍♀️ I don't know if I'm explaining it right, but it's so frustrating, because it would've been easily a 5 star read if not for the heroine's behavior!

Jessica Hawkins knows how to tell a story. Hook Line and Sinker. Well, because of how Violent Delights ended I was super beyond excited to get Violent Ends. To get some and ALL the answers. I love that this began right where we left off. It was like pressing 'pause' and then 'play' .... How good it felt to be back in this world OF Love, Lust, Betrayal, Survival and Loyalty.

The chemistry between these 2 is Freaken Off the Pages! Slow burn. Slooooow NICE burn. It is interesting to see the building of their relationship.

I like that Natalia started seeing things clear. Although at times I still wanted to yell at her "Grow up!" but I did see her growth throughout and in the end she was a different woman.

Many new introduced amazing characters. Fabulous characters from book 1. I'm excited to see where the last book of this trilogy will take us.

The ending...... I CAN'T EVEN. That's what I have to say about THAT ENDING.
I NEED book 3 please.

5 #TeamCristiano stars !!!

Hello, book hungover. I think that you’ll stay with me for some time…

Jessica Hawkins blew my mind. I was waiting impatiently for Violent Ends and from the very first sentence I was completely hooked. I don’t know if it’s Jessica’s writing, remarkable storyline or just the mix of both, but I was so engrossed with this story that outside world didn’t exist until I was done with this book. Who am I kidding, I’m still not over it! Even though the romance alone is really slow-paced, all the other things made me sitting on edge. I couldn’t put this book down even for a second!

Violent Ends starts where the previous book ended. Natalia and Cristiano are in the church after their wedding and despite her resistance, a whole new life awaits for her. But that doesn’t mean that she’ll be perfect, obedient wife from now on. After what she heard about Calavera cartel she refuses to bow to its leader. Especially when she still believes in Cristiano’s involvement in her mother’s death. But with every passing day the doubts arise. When the one who Natalia loved betrayed her in the worst possible way she doesn’t know who or what to believe anymore. Considering that the rumors about Calavera were exaggerated and this whole world is not what it seems to be can she let her guard down?

I was #TeamCristiano already in the first book, but right now I’m his biggest cheerleader. He’s so intense, intimidating and sexy! This book shows us two sides of his character. One is a ruthless and dangerous boss, the other is possessive and protective husband and I’m completely in love with both! He could easily force his new bride to bend to his will, but he wants her willing. And I’m really surprised that Natalia didn’t give in, because Cristiano’s dirty mouth is something else. I was reading his filthy innuendos all flushed and wishing that it could be me in the front of him. I’m not joking.

I can totally understand Natalia’s confusion and mistrust. But on the other hand I couldn’t stand her stubborness and that she wasn’t open-minded. Her inner battle between her mind and her body was also complicated, because she coulnd’t deny that she was attracted to Cristiano. All the secrets and unspoken truth was messing with her head and I think that it was the main reason why she couldn’t let go. But with every new revelation and shock that followed, she started to understand more. And we could see the true Queen in the making.

The sexual tension between these two was hot AF! The battle of wills only added to the intensity that was pouring from this story. The chemistry, unfulfilled lust and every passionate interaction between Natalia and Cristiano kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t get enough of them!

And that ending?! Tell me Mrs. Hawkins, why do you hate me? It was like a shot to my poor heart!

I could sing the praises all day, but it still wouldn’t give this book justice. You NEED to read it. I’m generally easy to please when it comes to my books, but Jessica Hawkins didn’t write just a book. She created extraordinary tale that pulls us into the whirlwind of emotions and doesn’t let go. I’m completely addicted to this series and I can’t wait for the next part! MUST READ!

Esto es lo que necesito in mi vida.... Depacio chispa de proporciones épicas!

I’m not going to sound composed and eloquent in this review. I’m vibrating with excitement after plowing through this one.

THIS IS JESSICA HAWKINS AT HER BEST. The anticipation, the constant guessing and re-guessing. The will she, won’t she. DO IT GIRL. DO IT...... the range of emotions you’ll feel reading this one is going make your temperature run about 69 degrees hotter. And yes that’s on purpose.

You HAVE to have read book one, Violent Delights before Violent Ends. And if you did, you probably enjoyed it. But BOOK TWO!!! The inner workings of where/why/how is what I questioned after VD. And Jessica gave it to me in spades. Not only that but so much more.

It’s not all wrapped in a pretty bow...there’s a book 3...hello!! And I CANNOT WAIT!!
