Alexei: Broken Hero Enemies-to-Lovers Mafia Romance (Belles & Mobsters) Kindle Edition
Blessed with the face of Adonis.
Cursed with eyes colder than the Arctic and a past he can’t escape.
His history is as tragic as a Dostoyevsky tale.
He’s been on the FBI’s radar for years but has managed to always stay a step ahead and just out of their grasp.
When I’m forced to work with him, fire ignites and things spiral out of control. Despite the desire felt from his mouthwatering body, covered in tattoos, distrust between us is deep.
But unless we learn to work together and trust each other, we’re both as good as dead.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2022Another amazing book in mobsters and belles series.
Alexei is hot, tattooed and broody mobster that tries to break human trafficking circle.
So when he decides to work side by side with FBI, he gets sassy agent Aurora.
Aurora is beauty with brains and smart mouth. Only if she knew she met Alexei years ago.
They both have same goal, they have their personal demons to battle, while having hot connection that sizzles with sparks.
There might be things that can trigger some of you, so please check for your TW.

I’ve been intrigued by the broody character of Alexei ever since he was first introduced in The Den of Sin (Vasili & Isabella’s story) and his story did not disappoint.
First off, Alexei, my goodness what he endured in the past brought me to tears. His story brought context to his closed off, brooding and tortured character, it also enlightened to his need to protect, and in Auroras case, possess.
Alexei at first glance appears to be a violent anti hero, but beneath the surface are scars and memories he can’t escape, yet give him the strength to carry on and go to great lengths to correct his mistakes and keep his promises. Aurora, in contrast to Alexei’s darkness, is a shining light that gives him purpose and belonging.
Aurora herself is the daughter of a senator, yet despite the wealth of her family, works in the public domain as an FBI agent. She’s smart, strong and sassy, but she has her own childhood trauma, that fuels her search for the truth and closure.
Alexei and Aurora meet when a common goal brings them together, their joint search to end the heinous acts of a mutual nemesis, force them together and when in such close proximity their chemistry ignites. But they both have secrets, secrets that hold promise to tear them apart.
Alexei is a love story, but it was also so much more, it was a story about guilt and redemption, pain and passion, grief and justice. Alexei was most definitely the darkest of the Belles & Mobsters series so far, it broke my heart, kept me on my toes with its twists and turns, and gave me a sense wholeness at the end.
I’m so excited to see where the Belles & Mobsters series goes next, and how, it interconnects with Eva’s other upcoming projects.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 July 2022I started the book for the cover and stayed for the plot and characters. Really good story and really nice tension between Alexei and Aurora. I have to say the links with the other characters seemed a little forced at times but it did make me curious. Good read
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 January 2023Good read but it was very dark at times love auroras amd Alexei what they went through in the past was dark but I'm glad they got there hea x
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 May 2022I love this series of books, and Alexei has got to be my favourite yet by far.
Eva your writing skills truly are amazing. Thank you so much for another brilliant book!! 🤩❤️
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2022Having read the other books in this series, I've been looking forward to reading Alexei's story, and I wasn't disappointed. He was everything we've come expect from his previous appearances in the other books.
A broken man with lots of hidden angst and misplaced blame (on himself). Enter Aurora, an FBI agent, brought in to work with Alexei and his brothers, to track down a child kidnapper, someone known to both parties.
The story builds around this and the growing attraction between closed off Alexei and mistrustful Aurora,
and their hunt for the kidnapper. This book introduces us to Aurora's brothers, the Ashfords, who, I'm sure, we'll hear more about.
Secrets and misunderstandings abound throughout this book, making it a worthwhile read and adding to the ongoing storyline between the families.
I'm looking forward to the next book already!
I received an ARC of this book and am leaving an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Masterpiece To The Belles And Mobsters Collection
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review
The entire Belles and Mobster’s series is absolutely fantastic. Eva Winners put her all into this masterful collection of mafia romances full of Strong and Fierce women and the Protective Alpha men that fall to their knees to worship and love them.
Continuing this collection with Alexei and Aurora’s story was superb. Not only do we get their long awaited story but also a brief intro to the next series coming and their connection to the Kingpin’s. These two were just as fierce and phenomenal as every other couple we got to meet. Alexei comes from a much harder and darker past and background though and is closed off and cold. Until of course the FBI Agent Aurora comes along and shakes up his world. Fighting to find out what happened to her missing brother and the force behind his disappearance she’s left with no choice but to work with the cold and cruel man Alexei. A man she can’t help but want in every way possible. We get a look into their brutal pasts thru their memories and they will rip you apart but it’s a part of their story and what helps them get their retribution and HEA.
This book will have your emotions all over the place, angry, sad, happy, frustrated, and a whole lot more. As with the previous books nothing but HEA for our perfectly matched couple. I can’t wait to see where she takes us with our other favorite Mobsters and their Belles. I absolutely highly recommend every single book in this series as a must read, along with any of Eva’s books. I still have several to read but I most definitely will be reading her past and future works after falling head over heals for the Belles and Mobsters Series!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow
This was another great read in this series. So many secrets. She had a kidnapped brother she could never forget, whilst he had a part in the kidnapping. But once all the secrets were out they got their happy ending. Loved it.
Narration was superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars solid story in the Belles & Mobsters universe
Enjoyed this 4th entry in the series though the Belles & Mobsters thread was not prominent other than to help explain the interrelatedness of the characters from the first 3 in the series. The premise in this book was more far-fetched than in the other three - an FBI agent assigned to go undercover with a known Russian mobster - but once the reader accepts that context, the story is engaging if somewhat predictable. Even predicting outcomes, the HEA was sweet and real. Alexei may be a broken hero but he very likable and draws the reader in to the extent that, like Aurora, one wishes he could own the goodness within himself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alexei 🖤
Alexei & Aurora
4.5⭐️
“Alexei Nikolaev. Blessed with the face of Adonis. Cursed with eyes colder than the Arctic and a past he can't escape.” And what a tragic past it was.
“I couldn't hide my mental scars with ink, like I had my body.”
“On the inside, I was broken. On the
outside, scarred.”
This was gut wrenching, literally shattered me.
Then we have Aurora, an FBI agent with a sassy mouth, smart as a wipe and soo fierce. His perfect match.
“I loved every single piece of him—all his perfections and imperfections. His ruthlessness. His protectiveness.
Everything.”
“He tasted like a sinner and a saint. And my man.”

4.0 out of 5 stars alpha
Get yourself a man like Alexei, who only softens for his girl and only his girl.
The man has one of the most mysterious lore of all the mobsters. His story dives deep, the truth of his being and the tribulations which shaped him are gut wrenching and tear jerking.
As the ever growing web of families continue in the Eva-verse we get our first introduction into the Ashford family and this is a family legacy which needs to be unpacked. Luckily, we get spoiled and have Aurora taking us on the journey. She is the baby sister of the Ashfords and her upbringing provided her with a bit more cushion than her older siblings. She’s cunning but not entitled.
The pairing of Alexei and Aurora is beautiful.
