Second Dive: A Second Chance Sports Romance (Kings Of The Water Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 804 ratings

Noah Winters was my heart’s desire, the boy I loved desperately and had hoped to spend my future with. Until our plans were derailed and life took us in completely different directions.

When our fate changed, and our paths crossed again, nothing prepared me for the punch to the heart when I saw him . . . or his anger and bitterness.

He was no longer the boy I once knew, but a hardened Olympic swimmer with life goals that no longer aligned with mine.

All because I lied.

But sometimes, hiding the truth was necessary, especially when it freed someone you loved to reach their aspirations and dreams.

It’s said that time heals all wounds, but what I found was that it can also create an enemy.

That meant I had a choice.

Apologize to Noah, and possibly let him into my heart again . . . or allow him to live his life without knowing why I walked away. Without knowing that I never actually wanted to leave.

Second Dive is the third book in The Kings Of The Water series. All books in this series can be read as standalones.

Secret Plunge - Accidental Pregnancy Sports Romance
Fresh Meet - Single Dad Sports Romance
Second Dive - Second Chance Sports Romance

This story is about Chloe and Noah (as an avid Fifty Shades fan, I loved the start of the story where Chloe made the auction comparison). Chloe has just returned to town after a ten-year absence, and attends the fundraiser with her close friend Eadie. The money raised goes towards a children’s hospital, which is a cause personally close to her own heart.
As she gets hit on by a drunken douchebag, another masked guy in a well-fitted black suit comes to her rescue, getting rid of him. As he’s about to introduce himself to her, the host announces the start of the auction. Their attraction is mutual, and they seem oddly familiar to each other, but ignore it. Unbeknownst to him, his sister Daisy signed him up to be a part of the bachelor auction. When the host introduces the eligible bachelor on-stage, she remembers who he is instantly – Noah, her high school boyfriend that she hasn’t seen since she and her family abruptly left town. He doesn’t find out who the highest bidder is until they meet for dinner later that week. And to say he’s surprised by who she is, is a huge understatement!
As they navigate their past, and the many reasons for her leaving and all that she’s been through, he goes through a myriad of emotions. There’s no denying their sizzling-hot chemistry, but getting over past hurts is never easy. When Chloe reveals all of the heartbreak and trauma she’s been through, he understandably has mixed emotions. They go through many ups and downs, doubts and concerns. It’s all a lot to take in!
There’s a lot of angst, hurt, betrayal, sacrifice, loss, selflessness, grief, understanding, forgiveness, love, support, humour, fun, passion and bravery in this story. It really tugged at my heart strings, and I was an emotional wreck for most of it. My heart really ached for them, individually and collectively. And I cried so many tears! Chloe endured so much, and was so incredibly brave, tough, selfless and an absolute shining light.
This story was so heart-breaking yet heart-warming, eye-opening and empowering at the same time! There was also lots of humour and light-heartedness that really complemented all the sadness, sorrow and loss. The cast of characters were also all amazing! There was nobody I didn’t like. They all played their parts well and got me roped into the story. I could just picture the two elderly neighbours setting up their lawn chairs as they sipped their cocktails out of their mason chairs, watching Noah mow his lawn – with his shirtlessness, hot body, scruff and backwards-turned cap! That scene had me giggling!
I could actually see this as a movie! I loved it that much! I give this book five resilient stars!

I haven't read any of Jasmin Miller's books before and it won't be the last. Loved her easy to read style of writing. The story of Noah and Chloe was heartbreaking at times but also filled with a lot of hope. I'll be giving the other books in the series a read now too.

This was a beautiful story. I kind of knew where it was heading after the first few chapters and it was so worth it. I loved Chloe, I think her character was beautiful, selfless and endearing. She endured so much just to give the man she loved a future. And Noah um yes! So sweet and strong, it was hard not to fall in with his caring and strong personality. You will need tissues as the rollercoaster of happy and sad tears will hit you at various times throughout the book. Very well written, with details to help the reader understand various procedures so we can be as invested in the experiences of the characters as possible. Loved this book.

Absolutely great read. I love the character building and how to character's ended up together at the end of the story. It shows what working for what she won't goes a long way

I‘ve been waiting impatiently for this one since Jasmin revealed it was coming! I just love all her Kings of the water books and characters so I loved getting another couple and to see some of
    our favorites again.

This story is about Noah and Chloe who were together 10 years ago but fate had other plans for them so they broke up but never really got over eachother. Chloe had her reasons for not only breaking Noah‘s heart but also hers and I honestly couldn‘t figure it out until the moment it‘s revealed!
After 10 years Chloe moved back to her childhood hometown and just wants to move foreward with her life but fate is back and brings Noah and her together all the time!

The second dive is an emotional book and I feel like it‘s the authors most emotional book so far. It‘s a standalone but I recommend reading the others before for maximum enjoyment!
