STONE

He was my first crush.

My first love.

But he broke my heart.

He tore us apart so brutally that an ocean, never mind a state line, wasn’t enough distance between us.

But for all he ruined me, I still love him.

Despite the women and the lies, it never died, but that didn’t mean I’d take his BS and roll over for him…

Some people are destined to find danger wherever they go…

When disaster strikes, he’s the first person I think of. I know he’ll save me. I know, despite everything, despite the arguments and the bitterness, he’ll find me.

I just never imagined that my being in danger would be what broke him.

But the road to redemption is long.

He’ll have to work hard to make me his.

Let the fun begin…

STEEL is the fourth book in the eleven-book ‘A Dark & Dirty Sinners’ MC’ series.

This particular book was not my favorite in the series. The two main characters, who I had grown to love in previous installments, were now facing significant medical issues that took up most of the plot. Their connection, which had been so strong before, felt strained and distant to me. After being apart for years, they finally reunited but one was left in a coma and had to undergo intense rehabilitation. As for the heroine, she appeared weak and easily manipulated, having watched the hero engage in sexual activities with other individuals since she was only 16 years old. It disappointed me to see her cave in so quickly after a small speech from him. In comparison to badass heroines like Giulia or Rachel from previous books, this one just didn't measure up.

I love Stone. She has loved Steel since she was a teen, but something kept him away from her. Now their lives have collided again and secrets lost to their past are coming to light.
I love how Stone hasn’t just existed, waiting for Steel to get his act together. She has lived and enjoyed her life, even though she still loves Steel. I also love how she recognises that she can love him but still not trust him.

The little glimpses of the other characters are always so much fun. I will always cheer for the Old Ladies as they clean up the mess that is the clubhouse. As for the killer cliffhanger we’re left on?? Better grab the next book quickly!

This story was more focused on main couple of this one and it was brilliant. I’ve been reading these in universe order and this ending was so good I kind of want to skip ahead and miss the next Five Points book just to get to the next Sinners one, but I’m gonna be good and not do that.

Every book in this series reveals more depth and background about the MC and the people in it. I love the multiple POVs because I feel like it reinforces how important the loyalty and connectedness of the MC is. In this story we learn about Steel and Stone. They have a past, can they get their stuff together and have a future?

Steel is honestly my favourite story in this MC so far!

I love the relationship between the characters, I loved the amount of time spent on each main character's POVs and all the action, passion, romance, MC troubles and twists; ALL of it was so dang good!

Serena you have out done yourself darling, now get some much needed sleep xx

I have wanted Steel’s story from the beginning and this book delivers everything I wanted. Stone’s character is that perfect blend of fierce and fragile. And their connection, their love pours from the page

What happens when two hearts and souls are meant to be together no matter what... Well that's Stone and Steel. The Sinners world is getting dangerous, players coming into light and the weaving of different plots is masterful. Glued as always!

5.0 out of 5 stars Steel thought he was saving her, then she was taken …

I do NOT consider these to be stand-alone, although you could try, but there are reoccurring characters and overarching themes. There are two series intertwined, the Dark and Dirty Sinners’ MC and the Five Points Mafia. So for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers, I advise they be read in the author’s recommended order.

⛔️⛔️ Contains multiple subjects that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, light restraint, and spanking for pleasure, and with violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, torture, rape, assault, betrayal, mental torture, child abuse (mental, physical and sexual), domestic violence, human trafficking, enslavement, harassment, stalking, etc.

CAUTION: Also contains scenes involving mental health issues with anxiety, depression, and suicide.

WARNING: If you haven’t read the previous stories the following may contain spoilers.

    Last chance …

There are grammatical issues throughout, primarily with incorrect word choice and tense, typos, missing and extra inserted words. There are not as many as in previous stories, and none were difficult to interpret, so that is why I didn’t feel the need to lower the rating. I am trying to mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, as errors interrupt the flow.

This is a dark story, both in theme and detailed scenes. While it may not be for everyone, I am still surprised by how much I love the longer length, the multiple POVs, how Serena Akeroyd built the characters and story universe, and the life it brought to everything.

In this, Steel and Stone are featured. Steel has always known Stone was his. Right before she turned 16 they shared their first kiss, and only kiss, which changed everything as her mother heard. What she said to him after ruined his life and he swore he wouldn’t do the same to Stone. Now fast forward about 18 years, he has kept his promise to himself but at a cost to both of them. The things he did to drive her away from him, to drown himself in booze and women in the clubhouse were he knew she would be aware or see them, were unforgivable.

Stone was raised with the MC and is the unofficial little sister of most of the men. Her medical education was paid for by the MC after she lost her scholarship when she went off the rails due to the cold treatment of Steel and the death of her mother. Even today Stone is not exactly sure what happened after their one and only kiss, but at some point she needs to find a way to move on. The pain at hearing him, seeing him and being taunted by the clubhouse “women” was enough to bring her to her knees. Then seeing Steel after thinking he was badly hurt when they needed her to try and save the three women they found was somehow worse.

Although after arriving to work at the NYC hospital to find out that another patient had died that should have had more time wasn’t as distressing, it still made for a very bad day. This made three … Did the hospital have an Angel of Death? Should she contact someone?

There was a protocol if someone suspected something, but she didn’t know who she could trust. Maybe she was imagining things, even though her gut told her there was something there. Maybe Indiana, her best friend, could give some insight? Stone went to her place outside to get some air and called her. They talked for a few minutes before she told her about the three patients.

Stone heard the door open, felt a prick on her neck, called out “Indy” and then quickly felt nothing else …

The much awaited book is here and well worth the wait. You definitely must read this book if you have already started the series or get started on them. They are to good to keep putting off and leaving on you TBR lists.

Steel has been in the background of the other books and I was desperate to know what was going on with him and Stone.

This is exceptionally written with very intricate interwoven storylines and relationships. There is so much history with Steel and Stone. Serena manages to give multiple POVs so we can see more details of what is going on and there feelings at that time.

This also gives flashbacks to their pasts as well. I found it really helped me to understand the history better between the two. It took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and Steel wasn't always in the good books for me either.

I loved this book so much there is such intense feelings between the characters and created for me reading.

Steel has been pushing Stone away and at some points cruel about it but you start to understand why and realise he's been hurting too even if he was completely in the wrong.

Stone is a strong independent women that has toughened up over the years because of him. Now she is not going to simply roll over for him. He is going to have to prove so much to her and rightly so. I see much grovelling for his future.

In the background with the storyline in the series (don't want to give spoilers) we see some resolution and answers to questions we had. However, it ends with the biggest cliffhanger and raises so many more questions.

I already knew I wanted to continue with the series but now I'm dying for Cruz to be released. Thankfully Serena has other books for me to read to keep me going until October.

I was looking forward to Steel and Stone’s book since I was first introduced to them in the previous book. I was so curious to see what had happened in their past to make Stone so angry at Steel. When I finally found out, I have to say I was really disappointed! The reason behind their fight just so DUMB! Not only that, I didn’t understand how they were SOOOOOO “in love” with each other and had been pining over one another for almost 20 years.

They basically grew up together and had a crush on each other, but both were too shy to say anything. They kissed ONCE when she was 15 and he was 19. Then Steel broke it off (for the most asinine reason ever) before they could even become anything. I didn’t get how they could be SO obsessed with each other, when they had never actually been together! It didn’t make a whole lot of sense. I’m sorry, but that’s not ever lasting love. That’s a teenage crush!

I didn’t feel any connection between Stone and Steel. They didn’t even get together until about 60% into the book! And even after they did get together, Stone was dealing with some medical issues, so they weren’t really together. They didn’t do anything physical (not even a kiss) until 75% into the book. So far they have been my least favourite couple.

What saved this book though was the overall story and all of the other characters.

⭐️ ⭐️ for the main couple, Stone and Steel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for everyone else and the general storyline.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the ending! God that ending! 🤯
