    This prequel should come with a trigger warning for anyone who was bullied in high school. Mallory's so called friends are despicable. I had been really looking forward to reading this and Fluffy because I had heard so many wonderful things, but discovering that humiliating "joke" was pulled by her friends left a sour taste in my mouth. I can only assume the author was never bullied in high school for her to think this was funny. I will still read Fluffy because I actually really liked Mallory and Will, I just hope she's found better friends.

    This is a quick read and a great lead-in to ‘Fluffy’. There are several laugh-out-loud moments along with the drama and angst associated with an unrequited crush. This depiction of high school with its social hierarchy – the jocks, the brains, the goths etc., was very realistic and brought back many memories of days gone by. It’s well written with well-developed and engaging characters. I’m looking forward to reading Fluffy, to see how these characters have fared post high school.
