NYT and USA Today Bestselling author Kaylee Ryan brings you the continuation of the stand-alone series surrounding five best friends who co-own a tattoo studio. "Are You Ready?” is an age gap, single mom, found family, small-town romance.
Forrest
The moment I met Briar, I couldn't stay away. She's my sister's friend, but that didn’t stop me. Especially after her daughters stole twin pieces of me.
I might have inked her flawless skin, but she’s the one under mine. Something about her draws me in, even when she pushes me away.
Every time we’re together, it feels like I’m home. I want to give her my heart, my time, and my love—not just to her but to her daughters too. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove I’m the man they can depend on.
Briar
I never thought I’d fall in love, not after everything I’ve been through. Then Forrest walked into my life, turning everything upside down.
He’s tough on the outside—with his tattoos and confidence—but underneath, he’s gentle, patient, and kind—especially with my girls. He shows he cares in small, consistent ways, even letting the twins paint his nails, making them sparkle.
The fact that they adore him scares me, because it’s not just my heart at risk if he leaves. I love him more than I’ve let myself believe. But now, I’m ready to admit it—to him and myself. The next time he asks me, I’ll be ready.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Kaylee Ryan has been crowned the Queen of Swoon by her readers. With nearly fifty romance books under her belt, she’s known for penning happily ever afters with heart. When she's not writing, you can find her with a book in her hand or hanging out with her family where she resides in her home state of Ohio.
My gosh, I was not expecting the prologue to make me feel as if a noose was around my neck, but it sure the heck did. I knew then that Briar and Forrests’ story was gonna be an emotional one that would wreck me every step of the way, but at the same time I didn’t know it would heal a piece if me.
Are You Ready?
Hats off to this seasoned author, she took on such a heavy topic with such sensitive hands and made it shine. There was development on top of development with brilliant world building. A depth so deep that it felt like a vice around my heart. A journey with strength, courage, and growth that had me grasping for more and more.
Briar wrecked me, but Forrest awakened me. The patience, grace, and certainty that was showcased, I just have no words. This book was beautiful in its own unique way. There is so much I wish I could say, so much that demands to be said, BUT I believe Briar deserves to be the one to let it flow free with her own words, with her own actions. So read this book, because her voice deserves to be heard.
The story wasn't just holding my interest. I've been struggling to finish this book for the past three days, and so far I've only reached halfway through. 😮💨
The pushing away by the FMC is pissing me off way too much, and I don't have the patience to know what happened to the "that night" she kept repeating on and on about. Maybe it's a big thing, but tbh, I really don't care anymore. 🤷♀️
Also, the inexperienced single mom made me wanna toss my Kindle across the room. She's a teen mom, and I can't remember, but I think she's been only with her sperm donor. 🤦♀️
And of course the MMC is an older (by a decade) experienced man (yk hookup kinda guy) who's willing to show her all the things she's missing out on. You don't see this inexperienced crap in a single dad romance, and it's irking me for so many reasons. 😤
So yeah, I'm gonna quit while I still can. Maybe it'll get better; who knows. But then again, idc anymore.
Anyway, I'm just not the intended audience for this, but I'm sure this'll work for other readers.
I don’t think anyone can truly be ready for the emotional ride that is the third book in Kaylee Ryan’s Everlasting Ink series, Are You Ready?. This deeply moving single-mom, age-gap romance with a “he falls first” twist hooked me from the very start and held on until the last page. It should come with an emotional warning—tissues are definitely required as Briar’s heartbreaking past slowly unfolds.
Her adorable twin girls, River and Rayne, will steal your heart just as they do Forrest’s, along with his entire family. The side characters, especially Briar’s sister, are well-rounded and add depth to the story in just the right ways. I didn’t think any book boyfriend could top Legend this year, but Forrest has firmly moved into the number one spot. From the moment Briar and her four-year-olds enter his life, he knows everything is about to change.
The connection Forrest feels with Briar and her daughters is heartfelt and the slow-burn romance fits the story perfectly. Forrest is determined to show them they’re his everything, even if convincing Briar takes time. Sweet moments—like Forrest letting the girls paint his nails and the heartwarming family dinners—build up to a growing passion and secrets slowly unraveling.
This book delivers on every level: heartache, healing, family, and swoon-worthy romance. Are You Ready? is a must-read for any romance lover, especially if you’re craving a story that pulls at your heartstrings and leaves you feeling deeply satisfied.
Are You Ready? Is the next book in the Everlasting Ink Series and was a good read! Forrest, one of the owners of Everlasting Ink and Emerson's older brother is ready to find that special someone. Once he meets Briar and her twin daughters, he's hooked. Briar is not sure she will ever find love after everything she has gone through but once she meets Forrest, everything changes for her and her girls. Forrest was a great guy. He was swoony, caring and so sweet with Razzle and Dazzle! Such a cute nickname. I loved loved Forrest and Briar so much. They were perfect for each other!! Can't wait for the rest of the guys!

𝑴𝒚 𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒓𝒃: They meet through Forrest's sister and it's game over for him. He falls instantly for Briar and her twin daughters, Rain and River. But Briar might not be ready to let him in just yet.
𝑴𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔: I have so much love for this series. Who doesn't love 5 tattooed tattoo artists who fall hard one after the other?! They're even looking forward to it and are welcoming it!
This is what I love with Kaylee's stories: there's this inevitable boom moment when they meet, he falls, he acknowledges it and does everything he can to get his girl.
Forrest falls so damn hard for Briar and even more importantly for the cutest twins to exist! Seeing him with them made my heart so happy.
Briar takes her time, she's protective of her heart, with good reason. I loved seeing her open up slowly to Forrest, and to trust him with her girls.
Briar, joy and heartbreak that was what she faced mere days apart. Her sister and twin girls are her life, and her trust isn't given freely especially after it was destroyed.
Forrest, taking care of his sister while building his career and still being a teenager himself was the greatest thing about this hero. The way he loved 🤍 The house he bought was a home to him and his sister but after she moved out, it was empty and his waiting for it to be filled with laughter once again. His waiting for "the one" not realising his wish is about to come true.
This book! So beautiful ❤️
Forrest and Briar's book was everything, these two had great chemistry and the love that developed between them over the months... beautiful ❤️ The love that river and rayne had for Forrest and vice versa 🩷🥲
oh my goodness Briar and Forrest had me swooning through this entire book, I love love insta love and this author does it so freaking well , Honestly chefs kiss, I love this story and how it surrounds a group of people who have love and respect for one another and dont even blink an eye when it came to briar and her daughter and her sister, I love the friends first because briar has a bit of a trust issue but that comes to light and Forrest really shows her what love is and how she deserves it, (swoon) overall loved this story.
We’re going to need a mop because I am MELTY MUSH for Forrest.
Devoured this in one sitting but I’m sick and not functioning enough write a proper review so here’s a summary of thoughts…. - The prologue pulled me in with all the emotion and I was instantly invested. - There is an instant attraction between Forrest + Briar but it progressed naturally without the feel of insta love (even if this man was absolutely down bad for her from day one) - Briar is the strongest woman ever and I admired the heck out of her. I loved the growth she had, the way she prioritised her healing while learning to trust Forrest and allowing herself to be vulnerable with him. - I will forever melt for a man who steps up for children who aren’t his own. The relationship Forrest builds with these twin girls was so heartwarming. - There is just something about a big tattooed man letting little girls do his hair and nails that will have my ovaries screaming every.single.time. - The patience, support and safety Forrest gave Briar was everything. - The band of brothers and sisterhood here is strong and I love this entire tribe, their dynamic and banter. - The found family warm and fuzzy vibes were perfect.
I'm a huge fan of Kaylee Ryan and I've changed my mind about my favorite character written by her a few times but OMG i have no words for Forrest and the way he was with Briar and her girls. That man is something else.
I'm not sure anything I write will give these two justice. Briar is a very special woman. What happened to her I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy but she found her inner strength and carried on. I loved his patience with her and her boundaries. He knew how important she was going to be for him and he was willing to wait as long as it takes to make her his.
I love this series and i can't wait to see who will capture the hearts of the last two men standing!

- Age gap, H 32/h22 - Single mom with 4 year old twin girls - Check TW (drugged and rap*d)
The way he is with her daughters and keeps wanting to be there for them, and always supporting h. He is so sweet due to her trauma from how she got pregnant with her daughters, he is so patient and loving. Not a single red flag around this man, he’s so perfect.
Safety: - he’s never had a serious relationship before, hooking up, but never got the feeling it was “playboy” style, but no info. His last time was a while before he got tested, which was 3 months before he met the h. He was busy raising his sister growing up. - She was rap*d and got pregnant, that’s her only experience.
No third act breakup, but some drama when the H ends up in a traffic accident, nothing serious, but this makes the h finally ready to let the H go all in and they confess they love each other 🥺

Are you Ready? It is one of those books you want to go blind to; the storytelling is amazing, and the characters are relatable and memorable. Briar’s story will tug at your heart, but together, Forrest and Briar will mend it. The twins will steal it, and Forrest will have you swooning.
Not sure if the next book can top this one, but I am ready.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Good story. Still enjoying the series. This one felt too short. It seems like the author is cutting out some of the group scenes (probably because we’ve already had so many in the earlier books). It would be nice to see some more outings with just 4 of the characters at a time to get more interactions/character depth.
YES! Kaylee Ryan has exceeded my expectations within the Everlasting Ink Series!! Everytime I think a hero and heroine can't be outdone, she goes and makes the next book even more consuming. I'm legit obsessed with this series, with the heroes, with the heroines, and with this world! My heart was invested from the very beginning all the way through to the last page!
Are You Ready? is the fourth book in Kaylee Ryan's Everlasting Ink Series. This novel revolves around a single mother, Briar, her adorable twin daughters, and her twin sister! And let me say I loved the twin having twins concept! It made for some adorable moments!! Briar's life has been anything but perfect. Having lost her mother at a young age and her father recently, she's trying to adjust to a new normal. And that new normal is located in Ashby, Tennessee.
Forrest is about to have all his dreams come true, but something still feels like it's missing. With his younger sister now married and across town, he's surrounded by an empty house and silence. Something he absolutely hates. He dreams of one day filling the house up with kids and finding the love of his life. AND.... that day may be coming sooner than Forrest is anticipating.
My Thoughts:
My heart! OH MY HEART! Kaylee Ryan grabbed ahold of my heart strings and would not let go! All I can say is, I'm a sucker for a swoony hero who steps in and fathers children that aren't biologically his. There was something so endearingly tender about this novel, I couldn't put it down. I loved witnessing this love, in many different forms, develop and grow! My heart is so unbelievably full right now!
Let's dive into the characters, starting with Briar. I said above that I loved the double twin feature of this novel. That still rings true! I adored the fact that Briar and her twin are as close as close can be, just like Briar's twin daughters. This made for some really adorable scenes, I legit couldn't stop smiling!! My heart broke for her when her fears were exposed and let's just say, this woman is a warrior with an uncanny amount of strength. ONe thing that really had me loving Briar's character was witnessing her shed that fear and learn how to trust a man again. Having gone through what she went through, I don't blame her for taking baby steps.
And then we have Forrest. This man is a rock! His patience is that of a saint! I loved how he knew when to give and when to back off. He had a sixth sense when it came to Briar, and I loved watching him slowly break through her shield. And don't get me started on the father/daughter relationship he developed with Briar's little girls. These made for some of the sweetest scenes in Kaylee Ryan history!
I am so in love with this world and this self made family that Kaylee Ryan has brought to the romance world. My heart simply can't get enough. So if you are looking for a series with swoony heroes, sweet heroines, and a love that can conquer all demons, you should run out and pick up Kaylee Ryan's Are You Ready?!! I hope you'll fall in love with Forrest and Briar's story as hard as I fell!!
Are You Ready Everlasting Ink #3) by Kaylee Ryan. Forrest is Emerson's older brother and 1/5 of Everlasting Ink, which is the best friend's tattoo parlor. Now that Emerson is married to Rome, he is living in that big house he bought for her all alone. When the gang would hang out at his house, he had the room. Now, with 2 of the 5 guys married, Forrest doesn't need all that room. He is lonely and doesn't know what to do with himself. He knows Briar and her twins from Emerson. After going to Briar's house for the twin's birthday party, Forrest develops feelings for Briar. When he sets his sites on Briar, he knows she has some hidden trauma. He just didn't know the extent of her trauma. Briar likes Forrest. He is not only good to her but also to her twins. She wants to date, but she is apprehensive. As Forrest chips away at the wall she has surrounded around her heart, Briar is still resistant, but she still wants him. It is a real touching story of a family who endured a lot of loss and is still standing. Briar decides she wants to try with Forrest, and their journey to healing is one of true love. Not only does Forrest fall for Briar but also her twins. Once Briar finally shares her truth, real healing can begin. Seeing their family coming together put a big smile on my face. Forrest is kind, understanding, and patient. A 5 star read for me.

Are you Ready is book 3 in the Everlasting Ink series from author Kaylee Ryan. Kaylee gave us an emotional roller coaster with this one, and as soon as I read that prologue I knew I’d love it. This is the story of Forrest and Briar.
Our FMC , Briar and her twin sister Brogan work with Moneoe, who we met in book 2. Through Monroe, they are introduced to the Everlasting Ink Family. Briar has been through something traumatic and doesn’t open up and trust. Her only family is her twin sister and her twin 4 year old daughters, River and Rayne. She had a lot strength and overcame a lot to just raise her girls.
The MMC, Forrest, who we met in book 1 , is one of the Everlasting Ink founders. He is starting to realize he wants more to life. He has now watched two of his best friends, and his sister fall in love and have kids, and he’s not getting any younger. He doesn’t like the solitary life makes him realize just how lonely he really is. He meets Briar and her girls, and knows that they are his end game.
Briar’s twin girls, River and Rayne, really steal the show. They are so adorable and just steal your heart . Forrest can’t help but love all his girls. He is going to show them they're his world, his end game and nothing will change that for him , even if Briar needs space and time because of her past. I love how the girls nicknamed Forrest as Forty, and he in return nicknames them Razzle and Dazzle. It just melts your heart on the connection between him with the girls.
This book was everything all rolled into one… you get all my favorite tropes, add in tattoos and a story that pulls on your heart strings and this is a must read book. Kaylee has been one of my favorites for a while and she continues to deliver great stories.
Thank you to Give Me books pr for this advance copy.
Continuing to love this series! This installment in the Everlasting Ink series focuses on Forrest, who we meet in the first book through his younger sister, and his journey to love. Initially, Forrest doesn’t think love is in the cards for him after seeing two of his best friends fall themselves for his little sister and her friend, but all that changes when he meets Briar. A single mom through unfortunate circumstances and with only her twin sister there to support and help her, Briar is really focused on her twin girls and making sure they are happy and not feeling like they’re missing out, and when she befriends the Everlasting Ink crew, her life is forever changed, especially after meeting Forrest. He fights to get involved in her life and show her that things can be real for them, that she can let him in, and once she does it’s such a great love story for these two with a great HEA. I can’t wait to see who’s next and if we see Briar’s twin sister get a HEA as well! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Forrest and Briar’s story. Briar is a single mom to her 4-year-old twin girls, and is not looking for relationships, but she is smitten with her best friend’s brother Forrest. Forrest is kind, patient, trustworthy, and loving, and I loves the relationship he has with the twins, who adore him. This is a well written easy to read, slow burn, with found family, friendships, emotions, an age gap, trust, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and heartfelt, small town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I loved this book—like, full-on obsessed! This love story had everything I could ever want. Age gap? Check. Single mom? Check. Tattooed hottie? Big check. Forest is the kind of man every guy should aspire to be, patient, loving, sexy as hell, and I just know I’ll be dreaming about him forever. Seriously, this story was everything. And don’t even get me started on the twin girls, they were the cutest little toddlers ever! There aren’t enough good things to say about this book. No icks, no complaints (except that I wish it was longer). I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to this love story!
Oh my heart…. I cried soooo many happy tears … Forrest is perfect literally perfect…. And OMG the happiness is overflowing …. Briar is perfect for him and River and Rayne are the absolute cherries on top of the sundae !!! It’s gonna be super hard to out swoon Forrest so I hope Lachlan and Maddox have big big shoes to fill… I do believe Forrest just may be my book boyfriend of 2024!!!
Wow, Are You Ready? is one of the best Kaylee Ryan books I've read. I was not expecting such an emotional, moving story from this single-mom romance.
Forrest and Briar were so well-matched. I adored how patient he was with her and how he helped her work through her trauma. From the moment he met her, he knew there was something special about Briar. They start out as friends, and it's a sweet slow burn. Every stop along the way, Forrest asks Briar, "Are you ready?" — he is pretty high up there as far as book boyfriends go. And he was completely smitten with her twins, River and Rayne, whom he affectionately nicknames Razzle and Dazzle.
Well done!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
This was such a sweet book! Brair and Forrest are made for each other. The twins, River and Rayne, were so adorable!❤️ This book has all the emotions and feelings. I loved everything - from writing to character arcs. All of them were very well done. This is one of the books I never wanted to end.
It made me a fan and I am going to read all of Kaylee's work now. 🙃
Yes. 100% yes. Are You Ready? Is one of the books I knew I’d love but I didn’t realize I needed this story. Pure perfection.
Forrest as a girl dad was not on my 2024 bingo card but please give me more of that! Forrest was perfect with River and Rayne. And the literal patience he had for Briar was beautiful. Forrest is a walking green flag and the world needs more of him.
🩵found family 🩵single mom 🩵he falls first
Briar’s story is a guy wrenching one and I completely understand why she isn’t quick to trust anyone. I loved watching her slowly open up to the craziness that is the Everlasting Ink family.
There is literally so much I can say about this one and I LOVED IT! (Devoured it in one sitting).
And I just have to say every interaction that we got of Forrest with Rayne and River tugged on my heart. He is literally so good with them and was from the very beginning. I loved that we got to see him interact with them so much in this book and got to see him become the girls dad in more ways than one!
Are You Ready? is the third book in the Everlasting Ink Series and I loved it! Kaylee wrote a beautiful love story that will pull at your heartstrings. Forest is a tattoo artist and is ready to find that someone special and settle down. Briar is a single mom of twin girls, River and Rayne. The connection Forrest develops with Briar and her adorable daughters was so heartfelt. I loved how determined he was to earn Briar’s trust and prove to her he was the man for her. The build-up and passion between them was perfect! Briar doesn’t trust easily, so Forest takes their relationship at her pace. When she is ready for him, he will be there.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭: ✨ Single Mom ✨ Age Gap ✨ Tattoo Artist ✨ He Falls First ✨ Found Family ✨ Small Town
I didn't know what to expect with this book, but I wasn't disappointed at all.Forrest was full of surprises. He is such a beautiful and kind man, so patient. I already loved him, but in this book he was so adorable with Briar and her daughters 💕.
I also loved Briar's character, her story and the way she was with Forrest.
It was lovely and so good to read this book. If you're looking for a small town, tattoo artist, single mom, then this book is made for you. Add to that a beautiful friendship, a family bond.
This book is definitely my favorite in this series so far! I love the entire series but this book was everything and more! I perfect love story! A soft, patient, gentle, understanding, sexy as hell man who falls in love with a single mom of TWIN girls! I mean yes yes and yes! It gives me hope that there are still good men in this world to love you the way you deserve. No matter the past, your future can be bright if you let it. This book was full of learning and trust, opening your heart even when you never thought possible. And as always I loved each character. I loved the new characters that got introduced that I am excited to learn more about. I didn’t want this book to end. Can’t wait for book 4 to be released!
