    Now the introduction at the Gallery opening was spot on H&S lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Drayton’s Dolls definitely had a good thing going, total protection and your dream coming true after service, absolutely brilliant, no one can claim that they were taken advantage with such a package.

    I guess there is always darkness to something that one finds beautiful and with the sharks circle and a devastating act, all comes to an end.

    Brilliant page turning erotic thriller.

    This book was amazing. It grabbed me from the start and I was totally hooked. The dolls are erotic and you really get a feel for what they stand for and how hard they train. I loved both Ivy and Vince. Some real twists and surprising sadness. Absolutely loved it. Do not miss this book.

    This book was not what I expected, it was much better. I think it is great the way each book is completely different from the one before. This was the one we were waiting for, what is it like inside Victor Drayton’s Dollhouse and what goes on?
    This is the book to read to find out. Victor is a Managing Member of Spiked Roses, and when Ivy is dismissed. Victor overs her a chance to become a Victor Drayton’s Doll. Ivy accepts and enters another world.
    All I am going to say is I loved this book, even with the taboo and at times loving situations. If you enjoy your book with sexual taboo subjects. You know you ready for an Alta Hensley. I enjoyed this one, and devoured in one sitting. I have to say this is my favourite in the series so far, but it is not for the fainthearted.
    I received an Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    I was so excited to get my hands on this book! The blurb and that cover hooked me! I wanted it and couldn’t wait until it landed on my Kindle. I dove right into the story and read it in one sitting. The story was well written and intriguing.

    The world that Victor Drayton created with his dolls was fascinating and I wanted to read more, wanted to know what happened. However, along the way something happened, to make me lose interest; the dark, twisted, taboo world suddenly didn’t work. I struggled to feel the connection between Ivy and Victor…actually with any of the characters. This story had so much potential for more but in the end it just left me feeling let down.

    It was easy to follow and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything from not reading the previous stories. It was a good story but I just wanted more.

    I expected this to be something super twisted and dark but what it ended up being was dark-lite and twisted. Scoundrels & Scotch by Alta Hensley is just a mind bending read. Victor and his dolls are something you will be amazed by in this book. You met Victor Drayton as one of the owners of the Sex Club Spiked Roses in previous books and he also owns his own Art Exhibits featuring Drayton Dolls which garners a lot of attention. To be a Drayton Doll is a privilege and Victor invests a lot of time and money into them. Well, there is a new girl that is part of the doll collection and Ivy Adams is her name. She joined because of the “perks” as being as of the dolls..and because she was fired from her previous job. There is a love story between Victor and Ivy but there is also this taboo thing about the living dolls and its really freaky… not as freaky as I thought it would be but it was freaky enough. When Ivy’s life is in danger, will Victor risk his life for hers to save her?
    This is definitely a dark romance read and I will say Victor and Ivy’s romance has its ups and downs. Their chemistry didn’t show until midway thru this read but when it showed, whoo howdy it showed and it was a heady feeling. I would have liked more heat to have shown up sooner but the taboo, freaky dark side of the story was there and I have to say Ms. Hensley has a winner here with latest series that has characters that are tied together –who are bad and who aren’t as bad. I love it and I look forward to the next book in this series.

    What a great find on kindle unlimited. I enjoyed the last book Villians and Vodka a lot so looked forward to reading this one. The books centre around a team of real alpha dominant guys who co-own a club - Spiked Roses. The ones we have met so far have a shady history - and yet there is something compelling about them - real sexy bad boy appeal!
    Ivy works at the Spiked Roses club and sends most of her money home to family. She stupidly takes some drugs even though she knew the club does tests and have zero tolerance to staff taking drugs. She gets caught and has to appear before the club owners expecting to get the sack- which she does. However one of the owners, Victor Dalton asks her to stay behind. He is a world famous artist who puts on art exhibitions featuring his troupe of beautiful girls who look like live dolls- known as Dalton dolls. The exhitions are kinky and Victor explains this to Ivy and offers her a job which she accepts. To say more would spoil it for other readers but I was fascinated by the “dolls” and the Dolls House where they live and are trained. The building relationship between Ivy and Victor is very steamy and very well written. But as Victor and the Dolls find out with fame comes risks and danger. There is never a dull moment- it’s great.

    Once again, Ms. Alta Hensley has penned a story that is spine-tingling, on-the-edge-of-your-seat, I can’t look, but I can’t look away page-turning tale. There is a unique cast of characters, some you will hate, some will have you hot and bothered, and some, you just aren’t sure about. The characters and situations are explicated detailed. The story is not for those who want wine and roses with a sweet storyline. The story is raw, edgy, dirty, painful, intense, explicit and erotic. If you don’t like a splash of shock, a dash of taboo, and a heavy dose of sex, then don’t take a sip of this TOP SHELF cocktail.

    Ivy Adams calls herself a white trash girl from Mississippi. She had a miserable childhood, with a drunken and abusive father. When she got her chance, she moved away and had been working as a waitress at the Spiked Roses private gentlemen’s club. But a drug test will shatter that dream when she tests positive. Having nowhere to go, sending most of her money to her sister who is caring for their ailing father, she is at her wits end until Victor Drayton makes her an offer, to become one of the famous Drayton Dolls.

    Victor Drayton is an artist. “One who pushed to boundaries of taboo, sexual deviance, and hidden desires. Twisted, wrong but delightfully right.” He is also one of the seven managing members of the Spiked Roses club, and they were men who didn’t hide the fact that they were rich, ruthless, dark, twisted, and had the power and resources to do whatever they chose.

    The plot will have Ivy going to work for Victor and moving to the Dollhouse where she will undergo rigorous training and choreography of posing, dancing, and becoming a life-size doll. “If I have to be the token white trash broken doll someone bought on clearance at the discount story to travel to exotic places, so be it.” “It’s about the contrast. The are is about the light and dark, the good and the bad, the innocence and tainted.”

    “Sex is beauty. Sex is art. You’ll be trained on how sex can also be twisted, dark, taboo. You’ll soon be taught there is no shame in desire, but there is shame in denial of pure and animalistic thoughts and actions. You’ll learn to not only expose your body freely but your soul when you are performing my art. You’ll be trained in how to make your body look stiff like a doll, controlled by a make-believe puppet master, delicate and dainty, but also extremely haunting and eerie.”

    The story will take the reader into the Dollhouse, the training, the preparations for an art exhibit. The mindset of Ivy as she transforms into a Drayton Doll. It is also the beginning of a claiming and possession for Victor to know that Ivy isn’t just a doll, she is much more, and he isn’t willing to share. He becomes obsessed with her and not wanting to share her with others. Cancelling her appearance and leaving her behind along with an injured doll and two new dolls that aren’t ready to showcase.

    The story will take on a sinister nature of life and death, and not everyone will survive. The story and sex scenes are explicit; the art shows are taboo and detailed. The story has some shock and awe events, and not all of it is good. The fourth story in the series, Devils & Rye will release March 27, 2018.

    I am absolutely loving this series! I love the level of darkness and the originality of each story. The characters are well developed and from the very first story I felt invested in their lives. I don't really want to say anything about the plot, but I do want to warn about a borderline sexual assault scene that could trigger some people.
    In this story we get to learn more about Victor Drayton and his dolls. I must admit that I have been curious about him since he was introduced in book one. Victor, and her dolls, weren't quite what I thought they would be, but I really liked the way they were portrayed. Ivy Adams is the female in this one, and as much as I loved her, I wish there had been a little more detail about her family situation. It wasn't necessary for the plot, I'm just curious about it. This is a fun, action-packed, fast-paced story with a lot of steamy love scenes. The emotions, that Alta Hensley describes so beautifully, suck me in and reaching the last page sends me into a bookfunk. I am very impatiently waiting for the next one!

    Okay, I have to say I was leery about this book. Why you ask? I really have no idea, seriously, it was just something in my brain that really made absolutely no sense. Especially, if you knew about all the books I've read, ha ha! Maybe I just saw that creepy doll from the movie in my brain, Annabelle, I think? But I knew this wasn't a horror story! So, I read the ARC and was hooked from page one and the author successfully dragged me (I actually ran) through the rest of the book, although I only kicked and screamed at the very, very beginning. After I got going, and couldn't stop (no surprise), I had a blast! So, I've bought the book to add to my collection and that, right there, says it all ;) Don't miss book three, it reads as a standalone but why not read the first two as well. You'll be sorry if you don't! Just sayin' Quit reading here, buy and read the book!
