4.7 out of 5 stars 1,014 ratings

When people think of Saylor Adams,

They think of the boy whose life she ruined

The football superstar whose future was forever altered by a secret

A secret that followed him to his grave.

Dubbed a bad seed and a liar,

Saylor was the girl we warned our sons about

Back before she ran away amid a storm of rumors and accusations.

But when the girl who cried wolf returns, everything we thought we knew is shattered.

Shocking us with the knowledge that we turned a monster into a god

And made a villain out of his victim.

While some of us will search for redemption, others will seek revenge,

Unravelingthe lies that tore a family apart, revealing truths that could destroy us all

And falling in love?

Well, that might just be the biggest lie of all.

This was another fantastic story. The main characters were just what I needed. I loved how even though Saylor had been through some bad times she was strong and didn’t put up with anything bad. I’m sad to have finished this series but also super excited to be able to move on to see what the Candy Girls have been up to, not to mention Viddy.

I love Candice Wright’s Underestimated series and this one doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t started them stop now and start at the beginning! While they can be read as stand alones they have an overlapping story arc and you will definitely get more out of them if you start at the beginning

who needs sleep when they have ‘the throne of lies’ to read. I didn’t think there was going to be another underestimated novel and I’m happy there is. Bloody fantastic and I’m still in love with Bates 😍 I just can’t help it.

I am absolutely loving this series. Saylor's story was both heartbreaking and incredibly uplifting. To have lost and suffered as she did, she always looked forward. It said so much about her loyalty, focus and determination. People definitely underestimated her, but she was fierce.

I loooooooved this book so much. So many tears (by me, not Saylor). It was another book with a strong female lead who didn’t let life keep her down. Brilliant.

Candice Wright is a absolute genius. An author that never disappoints but holy this book was amazing.

Saylor, despite every awful thing she's gone through is such a tough woman.
Rome, Ezra and especially Cass are buttheads of the highest order but you can't help but love them anyways.
    Don't forget Tag too <3

All in all, this book will chew you up, rip your heart out, spit you out and then put you all back together in the absolute best way.

The only reason I took away 1 star was that this one was not spicy enough. Rest it was absolutely perfect comeback. I have always loved the underestimate series the most and this one was as good as the rest.

Good read good book. Love reading The Thrones Of Lies and was a rollercoaster of emotions.I felt all the pain all the sadness and all the happiness Saylor had to go through. She is one strong lady to go through so much and still be one heck of a woman she definitely deserve all the happiness she could get with all her men's.

This is the 7th book in a series of connected standalone novels. You don’t need to have read the previous books to understand this one, but you find it easier to understand the characters and their history if you do read them.

I’ve loved this series since the very first book and when I saw a new one was out I was giddy with anticipation. It was every bit as good as I hoped, and more.

Saylor is home to deal with the home left to her by her deceased mother. She hasn’t returned since she was 14 years old, when she left to save herself from bullying and the possibility of worse. She left because her mother didn’t want to protect her and stayed away after her father died. Living with her grandfather, she was able to deal after she gave birth to Nayvee, who is now 6 years old.

When Cass finds out that Saylor has returned, he is livid. He blames her, along with everyone else in town, for his younger brother’s death. He and his closest club brothers, twins Erza and Roman, head over to confront her about her presence and send her on her way again. What he finds there shocks him and his friends beyond belief.

The Kings of Carnage MC is set up a little differently from most clubs. They have a triad of club brother’s to one old lady to make sure she is always protected and cared for in the event of something happening to one of her men. It’s written into their by-laws. Cass, Erza and Roman have expected to become a triad for a long time, but they’ve never really found anyone they are all interested in, especially as they’ve not seriously been looking. Saylor knocks them all on their backsides.

This is such an intriguing and complicated plot that I could not stop reading it once I started. Once again this author kept me up until the wee hours of the morning, and I don’t care. Candice Wright creates such wonderfully rich and unexpected characters, that are still utterly believable and relatable. Saylor is a magnificent character who has suffered torments that have forged her into a strong and determined woman, who will do anything for her daughter and those she loves. At first glance to appears broken and weak but underneath it all runs a core of steel. She knows how to pick herself up off the ground and start again when she’s knocked down.

This is not a typical MC book and the romance aspect does not go the way you might think, but when it all unravels you can’t help but think it was the perfect resolution for these incredible characters.

There is quite a lot of darkness in this book, but it makes the sweet moments richer. By the end of the book I wanted to read it all over again so I’d understand how clever the author had been to set things up the way she did. Reading this book reminded me how much I love the rest of the series, so it might be time for a re-read. I have the feeling there is more to come in this series from a few hints in this book. I’ll have to wait patiently, knowing that the wait will be worth it.

I have enjoyed the entire Underestimated series but this one really shows the growth of this author. So many little moments of female awareness that hit the right spot and are sometimes quite amusing too. Great characters as usual and great story.
