Cutter (Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 440 ratings

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author comes the next book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team.

Trust Laramie Briscoe to provide engaging characters in a well-built world I want to revisit again and again. Carly Phillips, NY Times bestselling author.

The storm raging in the Gulf isn't the only thing brewing between these two...

Cutter Thompson

Hurricane Tatum, a category five storm hell-bent on making landfall along the Alabama coast, is my opportunity, to show my friends and family the kind of man I've become.

The kid who lost his scholarship and the love is life is ready for a change. A change I'm equal parts scared will and won't come.

An EMT wasn't my first choice of careers, but it's become my calling. When the winds die down, the skies clear, and the rain stops, we're left with devastation the likes of which I've never seen.

What I come to realize is ugly destruction can be beautiful, if we can only figure out what perspective to see it.

Rowan Baker

The LSERT is a godsend, especially as us local first responders emerge from our shelters to see our town and homes destroyed. It's going to take time to rebuild.

Rebuilding is what I'm used to. After I watched my four-year-old daughter die in my arms I've done nothing but try to find a reason to live.

But I've got baggage. Memories, an ex-husband, and a fear I won't be able to save everyone.

When I meet Cutter Thompson, he reminds me rebuilding can mean letting go of fear and allowing myself to live the life I've wanted all along.

This was a fast paced action packed story about two professionals that have something to prove to themselves.

Cutter is a EMT working during the aftermath of a hurricane and Rowan and LSERT operative called in to assist.

Cutter and Rowan are very similar in personalities as well as the issues they are dealing with but it is those similarities that form the connection that gets them together. Yes there is the mutual attraction that is astounding and strong from the very start, but it's also the common goals.

Very well done on all levels. Laramie Briscoe is fast becoming a favourite. Her stories get to the point with plots and characters relatable.

    Great book!!

Cutter is book 4 in the LSERT series, a story that I have been waiting for, for a very long time.

Cutter has been holding back from his family and friends, keeping the worst moment of his life to himself. When he is sent to help clean up after a Hurricane he comes face to face with the devastation, but when he meets Rowan everything finally falls into place and starts to find his home. When its time to go back to reality, are they both able to walk away or is the fresh start both what they are desperate for.

Briscoe has delivered again, this story touches on several hard topics which are confronting and heartbreaking.

I personally loved this book, Briscoe’s writing had me reaching for tissues and once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. I am so addicted to this series its just keeps getting better and better, I cannot wait to read the next instalment.

Cutter thought he had ruined his life after loosing football scholarship, changed his life plan and became an EMT. Rowan was grieving her daughter and trying to get on with life after, then Hurricane Tatum hits. Cutter is asked to go out of town to help with the disaster relief team. Rowan, also an EMT, meets Cutter during the recovery effort. Neither of them expected to be so drawn to each other during this difficult time. Cutter and Rowan have both had heartbreak in their pasts and this is their story of overcoming the obstacles and trusting someone enough to get a second chance at life and love and the future they both deserve. I really enjoyed Rowan and Cutter’s story. It was sweet, heartbreaking and Inspiring. A great read.

I was apprehensive about this book. When Cutter was first mention in Random’s book I got major gay vibes from him. Even at certain points in this book I got them. But that isn’t why this book fell a little flat for me.
I felt as if we never really got to know Cutter and Rowan passed the trauma they both have. Also, their relationship was lacking the wooing that gives you all the feels. I wanted to know who they are, why they do what they do but I didn’t get that.
I also kind of resented the implications (fictional or not) about the university of Alabama football program. Yes, I know it’s fictional, I just think things could’ve been tweaked so it didn’t directly implicate the fictional coaching staff.
I wanted to like this book, it just lacked some things for me, sorry.

This is the fourth book in the series. I think they are better read in order. Cutter is still trying to prove himself to his friends and family after what happened in college. He goes with a crew from Laurel Springs to help out in Alabama where a hurricane is due to make landfall. What he never expected was to meet Rowan a fellow EMT. He meets her the first night on the job. He never expected things to be as bad as there are. They are going to have to make choices that may haunt them in the end. Rowan throws herself into her work to help her forget what she has lost. The find a friendship and possibly more. Rowan hasn’t felt anything in so long that she is surprised to feels something for Cutter. He is only here for a short time though. Should she take the risk? Can Cutter finally come to terms with what happened while in college so he can have a chance with Rowan? I loved this book. Cutter has been through a lot and so has Rowan. They both have baggage they need to come to terms with before they can try to be an us. These characters are so good. I fall more in love with the series with each book. I can’t recommend them enough. Fantastic job Laramie.

This deals with loss, betrayal, healing and love. Cutter and Rowan have been through so much and need to come out on the other side. They met when he volunteers to go to Paradise Lost, Alabama with LSERT to help during Hurricane Tatum. Both are amazing EMT's and give everything they have to the job. We finally get to learn what happened that changed things for Cutter and also the details behind Rowan's loss. These two have explosive chemistry and really learn to trust and open up to each other. This was well written and the storyline was amazing to read. The banter between Stella, Whitney and Rowan was hilarious.
