Charming as Puck (Copper Valley Thrusters Book 4) Kindle Edition
Nick Murphy. Hockey god. My best friend’s big brother. My friend-with-mindblowing-benefits. The best thing to happen to my nether regions since my subscription to the toy of the month club. The man I’ve been secretly in love with for years.
And total ass.
I am so done with him.
Except there’s one small problem.
Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is in the toilet. He’s convinced I’m his good luck charm, and he wants me back. But only for his game.
I’ll be strong. I will. I’ll resist.
Asses don’t change their stripes.
Or do they?
This plan would be so easy if the man wasn't Charming as Puck...
Charming as Puck is a romping fun romance between a hockey player and his sister's best friend, complete with farm animals, epic birthday presents, and Berger Twin sightings. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a pucking awesome happily ever after.

About the author

Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did.
Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

- Reviewed in Australia on 16 April 2020Verified PurchaseSo... the hero wakes up with a cow in his bed! How many times have you heard that? Real cow... ok, calf, and it just gets crazier and more adorable as it goes on. I love the way Nick gradually goes from self-centred pucker to awwww-cute as he opens up to the possibility that there is more to life than himself, practical jokes and pucking hockey. A really great read.
- Reviewed in Australia on 5 October 2023Verified PurchaseLoved reading Nick and Kamis story, getting to know both of them better as Nick woke up to the fact Kami was it for him.
- Reviewed in Australia on 17 August 2019Verified PurchaseBrilliantly fun and funny! What a lovely romance with just enough drama, comedy and steam. I believe this is the first book from Pippa that I’ve read and I can’t wait to read more from her.
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 February 2019I've read some of Pippa's books before, and also from this series. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
I love the humour that she puts behind her books, the characters, the storyline, just everything.
Nick is all about himself, and hockey. That's it. Oh and the occasional hookup with his sisters bestie Kami!
Kami has been in love with Nick for some time, but when he forgets her bday, she just can't take it any more. It's always been about Nick, and the Thrusters. Mainly about Nick.
Kami is the local vet and she's always having to rescue the animals that the hockey players play pranks on each other with. And when Nick calls to help with a calf in his condo, she LOSES it!! And I don't blame her one bit. After forgetting her bday and having to deal with Sugarbear, she gives Nick the silent treatment.
Nick can't take it, and the longer it goes on, the more he realises that he may not only miss Kami for the amazing, mind blowing sex, but actually misses her, and might even be in love with her!
Even Nicks friends and family are hating on him big time cause of what he's done with Kami.
Nick finds out Muffy has been setting Kami up on dates, and he HATES IT!! Kami realises that no one is like Nick, and Muffy can't match to save her life!
One thing leads to another, and Nick tracks Kami down to apologise, and this is after he's sent 30 things a day for 30 days to Kami to try to make up for forgetting her bday.
I love the moment when Nick realises he might actually be in love, and his who demeanour changed. I loved it!!!
Then Kami comes around, and BAM!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! I love the epilogues as usual. And yes plural. I think it really made it the book!

I have read every book by Pippa, and I have loved every single one. She is a master at romantic comedies. Julie Kent was my first foray into rom coms, then I found Jana Aston. Both can write hilarious stories, and I now add Pippa to this small list of authors that I know will have me not only laughing uproariously, but can deliver a fantastically written book.
I loved the start of Nick and Kami's story. Kami knew her worth, and decided she deserved more. Luckily for Nick it didn't take him too long to work that out also. They just "get" each other. In all the craziness surrounding them, I could tell that they are just perfect for each other.
It was also great to catch up with characters from previous books too. But I can't wait to read the next book by this fabulous author.
- Reviewed in Australia on 19 June 2022Verified PurchaseDon't hate me I'm Australian we aren't really big on ice sports here but it's not really about the hockey is it? I just rang like a guy who can admit when he has his head so far up his a$$ he missed what's on front of him but eventually realises it in the Nick of time. Kami finally realises she's with it and makes him work for it. What's not to like about this book is exactly what I need for a quick satisfying 😉 read. Now for book 5.
- Reviewed in Australia on 4 February 2019Somehow, yet again Pippa has absolutely outdone herself.
Nick, our annoying yet lovable prankster brother from Beauty and the Beefcake FINALLY get his own story.
Kami, our favourite sweet and cheery Vet, shows us what happens when that seemingly never ending patience eventually gives out.
Introducing Sugarbear, my now favourite Pippaverse unique pet!
The humour never ends in this cow in the house, super-soaker sprayed, Glitter-bombed masterpiece of Hockey Romance. Definitely worth 5 Stars.
- Reviewed in Australia on 19 August 2022Verified PurchaseThe characters in this book are in their 30s. Yet reading this book it was reading a book where the characters are 14 . Their level of conversations and maturity was low. The H sister comes across like a brat who gets her large husband to pick people up and dangle them in the air if they don’t agree with her or so what she wants. And how many lines in the book in various chapters want to be dedicated to the h phone and how she needed a new one because the battery loses charge. Your a vet buy a new one you right arse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of pranks!
Verified PurchaseOh Pippa Grant where have you been hiding. This book was amazing. I read it in 24 hours and couldn't put it down. The pranks, the animals and the chemistry made this so good. Nick and Kami are friends with benefits until they aren't and Nick realises what he's missed. Saying sorry in so many ways brings them together for a truly brilliant read. Now to get all the other books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nick and Kami book 4
Verified PurchaseBeing a big Pippa fan, I knew I was going to like this book. She gives you the right amount of comedy and romance and leaves you always wanting more.
I loved book 3 with Araz, but once I got into Nick’s story, I loved it just as much. Nick has been sneaking around with his sisters best friend Kami for 8 months. Kami has been in love with Nick for several years. He is a great goal tender for the home team the Thrusters. Kami is the sweetest and nicest person and in the family business of being a vet. Every time the Thrusters pull a prank on each other, they call Kami to find the animal loving homes. So it’s no surprise when Nick wakes up to a baby calf in his apartment. Kami is pissed that he forgot her birthday and wants her to deal with his calf issue, but she refuses, then later shows up at his place to take the calf home, even though there isn’t a place for her and ends up taking her to Nick’s parents house. Kami ignores Nick for 8 weeks and his game shoes. Nick gets benched and slowly comes to terms with being in love and not knowing how to date or have a girlfriend and how to say sorry to someone he likes. Kami is patient and loving, and finds ways to help him balance love, the game, and their pets.

Verified PurchaseI loved all of the Copper Valley Thrusters so much and when I’m reading them, I think each one is my favourite. But Nick and Kami are so fun to read, so this is my favourite. I think...
