Heart Breaker: A Brother's Best Friend College Sports Romance (Rebels of Rushmore Book 2) Kindle Edition
Casanova.
Heartbreaker.
I’ve heard it all. But the truth is, I’m the king of wanting what I can’t have.
Jane is a beacon of light I didn’t expect to find. Her innocence and joy call to my dark soul.
But she’s off-limits, my best friend’s kid sister. And I’m a damaged jerk with enough baggage to fill a jet plane.
All it took was one taste for my resolve to stay away to crumble. Now I can’t get her out of my head, out of my mangled heart.
If her brother finds out about us, he might kill me. If Jane finds out about my past, she’ll never speak to me again.
This love is a disaster waiting to happen, and yet, I can’t help going back for more.

Looking forward to this series continuing 🍰
- Reviewed in Australia on 5 March 2021Heart Breaker is book #2 in the Rebels of Rushmore series by Michelle Hercules and is a sports/college brother's best friend romance story. This story has drama, angst and steamy scenes which made for a great read. After reading the first book in this series, I couldn't wait for this book, and while book one had more humor, I found this story to have more angst.
This story is about Andy (Andreas) and Jane. Jane has had a crush on Andy since she first met him at age 15, but with Andy being her brother's best friend, she knows he would never look at her other than a little sister. Jane feels as though her life is spiraling and is tired of her controlling mother and absent father constantly trying to coerce her into the college of their choice. Now a senior in high school, Jane decides to break out of her shell and live a little, doing things that she wants for the first time in her life. And one of those things is Andy. The other is Roller Derby.
Andy is best friends with Jane's brother Troy. He has had a crush on Jane for years but she's always been off-limits. He has been a manwhore for years, never committing to any girl, he doesn't get along with his father and hates his stepmother. The only reason he even goes home is to see his younger brother. But lately he feels as though he's stuck in a rut. He's tired of life and feels like something is missing. That is until he sees Jane again, she's older and just as beautiful, and the feelings he thought he'd kept hidden start to reappear. What will Andy do? Will he choose his heart and pursue Jane, or for the sake of keeping his friendship with her brother, will he deny his feelings for her?
This was a great brother's best friend romance story. I loved both Andy and Jane and my heart went out to them for all the angst they had to endure with their families. The series has been awesome and I can't wait to see what comes nextbin the series.
- Reviewed in Australia on 4 March 2021Verified PurchaseI enjoyed this book, it’s easy to read with a well thought out storyline. Love Jane and Andy - they have great chemistry.
I enjoyed the twists in this book and the uppity snob parents.
Overall a great contemporary romance.
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 March 2021Heart Breaker is the second book in Michelle Hercules Rebels of Rushmore series, which follows Jane - Troy’s little sister and Andreas - the best friend. In Heart Stopper we meet both Jane and Andreas, and the storyline in Heart Breaker slightly crosses over in the beginning. I definitely recommend reading the first book, even though you could almost read this as a stand-alone.
My biggest issue that I had with this story is the difference in character of who Andreas was in Heart Stopper to Heart Breaker, even thought he was a side character in the first book he doesn’t entirely seem to match that person we were shown. In this story though, his back story comes out more with his own personal and family issues, which then make sense of who’s his character really is.
I do like that Jane’s more determined and ready to take control of her life, without doing what everyone tells her - definitely true to character here as this was shown in the first book.
The story has interchangeable POV’s between the two MC’s Jane and Andreas, with a flashback moment of when they first met that was early enough in the story that you could better connect with how the attraction started.
Overall it was a good story with a developing and fast burn romance.
- Reviewed in Australia on 4 March 2021I was looking forward to Andreas and Jane's story and I loved that there was a reason behind Andy's behaviour. This was a saddening tale with lots of angst but what a beautiful connection Andy and Jane had. Jane was the token good girl who wanted to break from her shell and it was great to see her blossom!
New Adult romance with a fun, flirty but serious side.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
Verified PurchaseAbsolutely a must read, love Michelle's books, and this one was just as addictive as the rest, loved Andreas and definitely loved the change in Jane. Some of the adults in this book definitely could use a clue, but this was definitely heart melting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting
Verified PurchaseThis one was way better than Troy and Charlie's book. Andreas was so sweet to her, and he being nervous to talk to her in the beginning was cute. Jane is so strong and independent, I loved it. It was mot an exhausting book to read, on the contrary. I recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Fluffy Read
Verified PurchaseI was excited to read book 2 in the series because of the tantalizing brothers best friend theme. The relationships that are never supposed to happen are always so much fun! This book was a fluffy take on the theme, they didn’t get get too deep with denying feelings and keeping big secrets.
This book has a lot of character development for each of the main characters. I found they worked through a lot of their own issues on their own, more than using each other to work things out. This does mean they are both strong characters and can handle their own crapy situations. I thought there would be more of denying feelings and sneaking around, or more situations where they push the limits between each other, but overall the book is perfect for just a fluffy romance.
Overall this book was a fun read. This is a perfect fluff (yes I used that word too much) book for anyone that wants those feel good tingles when everything starts to work out near the end. There’s some good banter, lots of romance, and a lot of characters’ self discovery. This is a great book for anyone that wants a feel good story that doesn’t get super deep or dramatic, but for me personally I expected more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved the second book.
Verified PurchaseI think I like this book better than the 1st book. Jane and Andi have a
complicated Story background. Troy James brother is best friends with Andy And with that When they 1st meet and and he sees how jeans mom treats are something happens in the laundry room. Tell me more 3 years ahead, and Jane has changed and still knows that she wants Andy. And he is just coming in to realization that he has always like Jane So with this it has been a costa ride throughout because they are trying to make sure Roy, James brother, Happy also I staying apart but also They're realizing they can't. I love Janes character, She is emotional, she's fears, And she has a lot of background around her. I love him he's character because he is the captain over jock that everybody knows in loves but he wants to come out of there and he knows that thing is that 1 person I can. So no going into any more detail I recommend this book and like I said I absolutely love these stick characters
