- Reviewed in Australia on 14 October 2022Verified PurchaseJust finished Easton and Paisley’s story. They have a lot to get through. They knew each other a children but lost track of each other. Easton has been a POW and he is severely scared and non communicative. What happened to him is so traumatising that he does not connect with anyone. In walks first Noah and offers him a place to rehabilitate then he meet Paisley who trains therapy dogs. Read this lovely story.

This series isn't a spicy series. It's more about what the MCs are going through after MH and physical injuries whilst deployed and their journey to recovery and elf worth, whilst learning to love again.

Easton has moved into Oakside and has severe PTSD after being a POW for a year. He can't stand to have anyone in his room and doesn't talk. That is until Paisley re-enters his life, his childhood best friends' younger sisters.
Paisley is a dog therapist for vetrans and is visiting oakside when she discovers her childhood crush and brother best friend is a resident at oakside.
Narrators: The narrators are the same as Saving Noah. They make it easy to listen to and do an amazing job at the delivery.
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 July 2021After the first book I just new Oakside was going to bring us some wonderful reads and this the second in the series proved that point Not only is this story deeply emotional as it tugs at you heart strings but it also draws you deeper into the world that is Oakside a refuge for the battered and bruised ex military that call it home
Easton may no longer be a POW but the physical and emotional scars from hoist time as a captive are still keeping him prisoner and the only person that may be able to help him is Paisley not only was Easton her crush when she was at school but now as a trainer of therapy dogs she may be able to give him the support he needs. Will he finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and is he willing to fight to start a life with Paisley You will have to read to see
I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 August 2021Omg I loved it!
I just couldn’t put this book down.
Paisley and Easton are the sweetest couple.
This book is so down to earth and real. It hurts to read some of the things that these guys went through in the war, and to know that that stuff is real.
It’s such a sensitive subject, but Kaci has been careful with it and done it justice, turning it into an amazing romance.
Definitely give this book a go, you won’t be disappointed.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my voluntary and honest opinion.
- Reviewed in Australia on 13 March 2023Verified PurchaseI can't believe I paid for this. Great idea, but poorly executed. Juvenile rambling and repetitive.
Author will be going on my "avoid " list.

2.0 out of 5 stars Non è come me lo aspettavo

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely a fantastic read
Verified PurchaseLoved Paisley and Easton!
Easton and Paisley were both introduced to us in Noah and Lexis book. I'm so glad they get their story.
Easton who had been a POW for a year, has been struggling to heal. He moved into Oakside as one of the first veterans. Nothing was getting through to him.
For Paisley, she is a support dog trainer specializing in dogs for veterans. She had known Easton when she was younger as Easton was her brothers best friend growing up. Her main dog Molly senses the Easton is not healing but encourages him to interact with her just by petting her. Paisley sees that Easton does seem to relax with Molly.
This is a story about a healing veteran, the struggles he faces and the encouragement he gets from friends. Can he pull himself out of the despair he feels? Can he face his fears?
For Paisley, can she get the person she deserves?
Absolutely loved loved this book! I can't wait to read the next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars The past might just be his future…
Verified PurchaseThis was a very satisfying book to read. The interaction between Easton and Paisley was so sweet, and the role the therapy dogs played was perfect. I did wonder if some parts of Easton’s recovery could move that quickly, and I felt like Barbie’s motivations were left hanging, but I always appreciate the honesty the main characters have towards each other in this series. I’ll definitely read more of these military heroes stories!
