This one was a super cute second chance sports romance!!I loved Addie! I loved that she coached men’s baseball and how strong she was, but I also loved her flaws and the things she needed to work through. And Duncan is just perfection. He messed up before but the way he is patient and supportive is so lovely. I love how head over heels he is for Addie long before she is for him. They have incredible chemistry and banter!I loved all the side characters who made it even more fun and entertaining! It was just an enjoyable read and the narrators did an excellent job!

    Sure, it’s a romance and we do get a wonderfully supportive MMC and a HEA. But, the real highlight for me, was Addie’s sum of experiences as a woman in a mens’ pro-sport environment. Pippa Grant has done a wonderful job of making a subtle political reference throughout this romance story.
    The romance is romancing, the sport is sporting and the humour lands every time. Do yourself a favour and enjoy this book!

    This one was a pretty hard slog for me. Came close to DNF. Way too many characters from previous books - most of which I have not read. The behaviour of most of these characters was pretty juvenile. The names of the sports teams and the pranks also mindless. The MFC Addie needed to seriously get over herself. Duncan was nothing but caring and respectful to her but apparently that wasn’t relevant to her as her first love was baseball. She was so caught up in not changing her own life and ambitions but in the end it was Duncan who made a lot of compromises for her.

    Duncan and Addie's second chance romance was a great read. I have been hoping Duncan would get his book for some time now. I enjoyed having so many of our Copper Valley friends in this story to hang out with too. Pippa's books are always so much fun and are an automatic addition to my TBR list. I cannot wait revisit this with the audiobook.

    I loved, loved this second chance, hockey-baseball mashup romance. This story had the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, deep emotions, and spicy spice. Addie is the batting coach for the Fireball’s baseball team. Duncan is the captain of the Thrusters’ hockey team. Four years ago they had a secret fling that ended when Duncan wanted to be less secret and less fling and Addie did not. Duncan decides he wants Addie back permanently and starts it with winning her at a charity auction. What follows the outrageous winning auction bid, is a wonderful journey of baggage unpacking, trust building, inner voice finding, leaps of faith, and life course correction. I loved the way cinnamon roll Duncan gently, lovingly, and beautifully helped Addie come out of her self-imposed narrow non-relationship prison and begin to heal and embrace the vulnerability and the strength of love. I have a soft spot for the people, like Addie, who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. This swoony, heartwarming and well written story included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. And I loved all the Pippa Universe cameos in this book - I may need to do a total reread of all the books.

    I loved Duncan and Addie's second-chance at love, as it was the perfect mashup between the Thrusters and the Fireballs series! I'd been looking forward to the hockey captain and the baseball coach's story and it did not disappoint!
    It's funny and swoony with the perfect amount of spice, and I really enjoyed the way the main characters acknowledged and worked on changing the things that'd made their old hook-up fail.
    Besides, there're lots of top-notch cameos from beloved characters from previous series, which made this book all the more perfect. Definitely recommend it!
