- Reviewed in Australia on 17 January 2025Verified PurchaseI have just finished this for the second time and once again I enjoyed every word. Lexi goes with her sister in law to Germany when Becky gets told her husband has been injured while on deployment. They arrive to find Johnny and his fellow Marine Noah. An unpleasant incident with Noah's fiancee leads to Lexi and Noah becoming close.
This story was a beautiful one and covered loss, and trauma so beautifully. I have read the entire Oakside Military Heroes books series and am re-reading them all again because they are filled with strong characters and a wonderful storyline that shows that there is always hope. This is one series I would like to never end.

This series isn't a spicy series. It's more about what the MCs are going through after MH and physical injuries whilst deployed and their journey to recovery and elf worth, whilst learning to love again.

Small spoilers but doesn't take away from the story:
This book is about Noah and Lexi.
Lexi accompanies her her SIL after they get word her Brother has been injured by an IED and have to fly out to Germany to be by his side. Whilst Noah, who helped save her brother in, is the next bed. Noah has sustained burns to one side of his face and body.
After overhearing Noah's Fiancee abandoning him due to his injuries, she steps in to be by his side during his recovery. Lexie, who lost her husband a few years prior, struggles with her feelings for Noah and a sense of betrayal to her deceased husband.
This story is about navigating finding love after injury and loss. Even though it's a shorter novel, it doesn't rush the storyline and fulling explores their feelings throughout the process of recovery.
Narration: I really loved the narrators and feel they did this story justice.
- Reviewed in Australia on 8 October 2024Verified PurchaseI generally read much darker romance than this. Good to mix it up with a light read, where pretty much everyone (with the exception of the ex-girlfriend) is nice. I did cry buckets so the author definitely did something right.
- Reviewed in Australia on 2 September 2024Verified PurchaseThis book was amazing! Lexi and Noah were made for eachother. Their story broke my heart and glued it back together all at the same time. If you love military stories with a real happily ever after, then this is the story for you.
- Reviewed in Australia on 6 April 2022Verified PurchaseI don’t know what to say without spoiling it for you.
I started reading this on Radish but just couldn’t wait, so I took a chance and found it on amazon. So glad I got to finish it in my own time.
The author has a way of weaving a tale that feels so real, it pulls you and takes you on one hell of a ride. You will fall in love with all the characters, well almost all of them. Have the tissues ready, it tugs at your heart strings but in the best way.
Just loved it and can’t wait for more.
- Reviewed in Australia on 9 May 2022Verified PurchaseStories like this one, about returned soldiers and the people who help them warms your heart. Yes reality may not be as sweet, but there are people who care and do the best they can. All that aside, it was a most enjoyable book.
- Reviewed in Australia on 18 June 2021Saving Noah is the first book in the Oakside Military Heroes series and oh how I loved this story!
This book sets up the series perfectly with Noah and Lexi’s story.
Lexi is no stranger to the military. She has a brother who she adores and is a unit leader in the Marines. When she and her best friend, Becky, learn that Johnny and his unit were injured in an IED blast they drop everything and go to Germany to be with him.
Lexi doesn’t anticipate seeing a member of Johnny’s unit who also happened to save Johnny’s life in the bed next to him. When Lexi sees him and sees what he’s going through she decides right then and there that she will sit by his bedside while he’s recovering.
This story is truly heartwarming and flows effortlessly. It’s not too heavy but not exactly light hearted either. Noah goes through the process of recovering from second and third degree burns to the right side of his body. But his saving grace and the woman he wants to live for turns out to be Lexi. She pushes him to recover and he definitely wouldn’t be able to get through his hard days without her.
I can’t recommend this book enough and can’t wait to read the other books in this series, especially Easton’s story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Story with All the Feels
Verified PurchaseSaving Noah is heartbreakingly beautiful! Noah and Lexi forge the most amazing bond. I loved this book from the first word to the last. Lexi is such a kind and compassionate woman. As we get to know her through the story, as we watch her with Noah and those around her, she inspires everyone and really is the definition of the ultimate woman. Author Kaci Rose has constructed an incredible world and a stunning series pilot that really sheds light on the complexities, challenges, triumphs, and trials that our military and their families deal with on a daily basis. This novel addresses difficult topics with grace and honor, giving us wonderful characters who truly deserve all the best. I love the entire concept and how it unfolds through Noah’s eyes and Lexi’s actions. With all the feels and then some, this is a must read!
I listened to the audio book, and I must say that the narrators did a beautiful job of bringing this story to audio life. They lived and breathed Lexi and Noah, really connecting with and getting into their characters so that listeners truly feel a part of the story.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre, vanity meets bland
Verified PurchaseI felt like I was reading the words of a teenager. It was lacking in maturity. The hero is extremely obsessed with his appearance and the herione is just bland. This book was a miss for me but could be a hit for someone else
