Trick You: A Brother's Best Friend Romance (Rebel Ink Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 2,685 ratings

I hated to trick her...

But I knew she would never go for the real me.

She was beautiful, smart and funny—everything I could want.
And I was... well. Me.

Tattooed, foul mouthed, bad boy.

I told one little white lie hoping to meet someone different. And I did.

Danniella Abbot.

She wasn’t who I was expecting, and I guess she could say the same, because Danni made it very clear she wasn’t interested in me or my reasons for lying.

The fact that she was my best friend’s little sister only complicated an already impossible situation.

I didn’t intend on tricking her. I just wanted her to give me a chance, to discover who I am underneath the ink.

She can fight me all she likes because we both know that I’m exactly her type. She just doesn’t know it yet.

What happens when you wake up married to the woman you tricked into a date?

You kiss the bride and prove her wrong.

Dear Readers,

Trick You is the second book in my angst-filled, emotional and steamy Rebel Ink series.

This book had me wanting more, absolutely loved it
The first book in the series had me craving more so when I found out that there would be second book and it was about Carter I jumped at it. This is a brothers best friend romance. I would read book one first because characters intertwine in each book. You meet Zach’s sister Danni in book one and it ends with her and Carter being married. This book revisits how they originally met. Danni wanted a guy that she could date someone that was a banker a good man that didn’t have to depend on her but she met her date who she started speaking to Carter he wasn’t exactly who he portrayed himself to be. Without a thought she left and never thought she’d see him again until he turned up at her best friends house, needing her help to speak to Zach. They are left alone him trying to apologize for him tricking her with his profile pic.She has a standard of who she wants to date and it isn’t him but sleeping with him doesn’t matter. Her walls not wanting to be hurt up but she assumes she won’t see him again until they are both are booked to go to Vegas for biff and Zach impromptu wedding. What starts off as a night of drinking lands them being married. I love how carter keeps fighting for something he knows he can feel between them. This book will have you laughing as she fights him on everything and I mean everything. When she gets to know the real man underneath the tattoos and the bad boy persona, she realizes he is the man she’s been looking for honest, caring and respectful. When the perspective of nearly losing him occurs she opens her heart and mind that this is the man for her and I felt every bit of love between these two. I couldn’t put it down, I loved seeing the volnurable side to carter and how much they suited each other when both wall fall. The scenes I must tell you had me fanning myself but tell me what book this author doesn’t do that to you.I loved the journey these two went on. I felt like I was with them. I would highly recommend this book and cannot wait until book 3.

I loved this book in a different way then book 1. We get to learn more about Carter and Danni but the timeline is both a prelude and their POV of some of the events in book 1.

Carter as a character is a very deep character that you don't expect coming. The surity of their relationship and their 'mistake' is beautiful to read and dream about.

Danni we learn has some hang ups but we don't ever find out what for. There is literally no reason just insecurity. But it's not all him chasing her; she does have to prove herself in a different way.

The scenes we get in this are as many and as correctly placed as Book 1 just not as 'hate' filled. There are a few details that could have been elaborated on like when she takes his pleasure but Tracy doesn't seem to go into too much detail with that in her books. Although it can be romantically written and powerful.

There is a great cast of characters in this Rebel Inc series. I don't know whether it's because their 'Bad Tattoo Boys' with a gooey centre for wanting to be accepted as they are. Or just that Tracy is a great author and was on the right path with giving Rebel Inc their own series.
I do have to say though; I hope Tracy returns to continue the series after Corey because I think it would lose some of the familiarity that Tracy has with these characters and the love she has for them.

Rebel Ink series book 2 featuring Titch and Danni. This series features a different main couple for each book in a connected universe revolving around a tattoo shop. I enjoyed this one as much as the first and will continue reading.

Trick You is the second book in the Rebel Ink series. It could be read as a standalone but I would recommend you read Hate You first to get the full story. This review contains mild spoilers for Hate You.

We already know some of Danni and Carter aka Titch’s story from Biff and Zach’s book. In Hate You, it’s obvious that Danni and Titch have a history and it’s not a good one, at least not from Danni’s point of view. Neither seem aware of how they are connected through Biff and Zach at first. Trick You fills in the gaps and tells the story of the aftermath of the Las Vegas trip. I love the way the books cross over and we get to read about some of the same events from Danni and Carter’s perspectives.

Like Biff and Zach, Danni and Carter are opposites but they make a really great couple. They challenge each other and it makes them better individuals. Danni becomes more spontaneous when she’s with Carter, letting go of her need to be in control and plan every detail of her life. Carter is vulnerable with Danni, he shows her that he’s not just a tatted up, bad boy but someone who is capable of being everything she wants.

This book is hot, hot, hot! Danni might have reservations about being in a relationship with Carter but she can’t deny they have chemistry. No matter how high she builds her wall, Carter is determined to break them down. Their banter is a lot of fun and adds to their unlikely compatibility. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading the next book in the series- Defy You.

Contemporary romance. Best friend’s sister/ Brother’s best friend, Accidental husband/ wife, Opposites Attract.

Trick You is book 2 in the Rebel Ink series, after reading book 1 in this series I was DESPERATE to get my hands-on Titch and Danni’s story.

Online dating, the one thing that could go so horribly wrong especially when someone ‘tricks’ you into believing who they are, Danni has been searching for the perfect man. ‘Carter Wright’ aka Titch is sick of the one-night hook ups and when he finds the most amazing woman, she has a set of must haves on her list and he doesn’t tick them. When they end up in Vegas together to witness a wedding, they have a night they will never forget, but will what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas?

The chemistry between these 2 is insane, their back forth banter is everything you could want. Titch is holding back and when Danni finally finds out will it make or break them?

I personally LOVED this story, from the moment it hit my kindle adulting was thrown out the window and I couldn’t put it down. Lorraine has again created a masterpiece, if you have not read Tracy Lorraine before you are missing out!

This is the second book in the Rebel Ink series and WOW what an amazing read this was.
I loved Carter and Danni's story. There was so much attraction between them but I fell madly in love with Carter and was heartbroken for him due to his family and the way he had been treated by them to make him feel that he was not good enough. This was a beautiful story of 2 people who were so right for each other but Danni needed a little convincing and when they were together it was so steamy that you could feel the passion and inevitably the love. I cannot wait to read Kas and Spike's story next as I know it will be off the charts crazy. Another amazing book.

I received an arc copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This was a really good read.
    The hot scenes were excellent.
The MMC was all feelings and the FMC was all denial of the feelings.
I thought this was a good twist to the storyline.

The couple is cute. Carter is absolutely incredible with Danni, he treats her so well.
I have to confess that sometimes I hated the way the couple was acting hot and cold, I like this little game but the way it was here, for me it was too much I guess. Danni changed her mind like three times in a day. In one chapter they were all hot and then cold again. But I still loved. I recomend.
