Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

I don't have to live vicariously through my friends and wait for them to tell me things that happened. I get to see it in my head and tell someone else the story.(less)

“Forgiveness isn't for the person making the error. It's for the person wronged. It's so you can move on without the pain, anguish, resentment. You need to forgive and mean it. Only then will you be able to move on.”
Leddy Harper, My Biggest Mistake

“When the devil inside shows his face. You’re lucky if it’s something superficial, something that won’t cut you off at the knees. But as I’d learned about evil hiding in plain sight, when the angelic mask comes off, you’re already broken into unmeasurable pieces, unable to put yourself back together again. Even Satan had wings at one point.”
Leddy Harper, The Roommate "dis"Agreement

“It's the hard things in life that hold the most achievement. Would you rather win a small-town race or win the gold at the Olympics? Think of this as the big games, the Mount Everest. Tackle it, conquer it, and bring home the gold.”
