Aiden…

I hate secrets. They ruin people’s lives and end relationships. Too bad I picked a job that’s full of clients with skeletons in their closet. None of that bothers me because I can compartmentalize. Keep the required boundaries intact. Until she shows up on my doorstep.

    Love this book. Love Aiden and Scarlett’s romance story. This book picks up pretty much where “Broken Innocence” ended. Readers first meet Scarlett in “Broken Souls.” Scarlett comes to BRB around the same time that Sadie comes. Scarlett’s ex ends up stalking her. So, Scarlett seeks refuge at BRB. She ends up leaving without telling Aiden. At the Sadie, Micah, Brie, & Griffin’s conjoint wedding, Aiden gets a text message from Scarlett asking to meet up. He ends up going but he and Scarlett don’t end up talking. Two years later, Aiden gets a call from the hospital asking if he could come down to the hospital. He learns that Scarlett is in surgery and that he is a father. Aiden is angry to learn that Scarlett kept his daughter a secret from him. He ends up offering Scarlett his protection. Love how these two ends up together. Worth the read

    Aiden is the fun one. The guy that makes jokes and keeps the women smiling. That is until he is ghosted by a woman he is falling for and can’t get out of his mind or his system. She showed up one night and claimed that she had a stalker and Aiden helped her out, that’s what the Broken Rebel Brotherhood does. He broke so many of his rules as well as the brotherhoods and then she just left him. No note, no looking back, no contact, nothing. She also took a secret with her that will come back to break both of them.

    Scarlett needed a sanctuary and was given a name of where she could go to get it. She showed up one night and stayed for a few weeks, until she was scared and decided that she needed to return to the man she was trying to get away from. At least she knew him, right? The only trouble was that he hadn’t changed, and she was still in danger being with him. So, she had to leave again, but she wasn’t as lucky this time. He delivered her to the hospital, and Aiden was notified, but the baggage she brought with her will be the one thing that could make or break Aiden. She’s still in danger and that needs to be dealt with before she can even consider moving forward with her life, either with or without Aiden in it.

    I have loved this series and was hoping there would be more. Ms Rhodes has done a great job writing about a situation that is hard to look at. This MC is a group of ex-service members that work around the law when needed to protect those that cannot protect themselves, and they are good at their jobs. The men and women of the Broken Rebel Brotherhood MC are loyal, caring, and lethal. They will not stop protecting those that come to them and they will do what it takes to accomplish the task. I give this story a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy MC, ex-military, tough, Alphas who search and destroy the threat to the ones that cannot protect themselves.

    So hard to choose a favorite. Aiden was so awesome. I loved that he never forgot Scarlet, but he was a typical hard a$$, screwing whoever came along until.....
    Scarlet returned.
    She betrayed him by leaving and lying to him....and even though she was back she'd kept one foot out the door. It was heartbreaking to see but when her past finds her only Aiden could save their future.
