    First time reading this author. It was a great, quick read. The story didn't show down at any point. The mystery surrounding Milas family and what Saint really wants deepen and keep you turning the pages.

    The Rise of Saint will have you constantly fighting yourself, do you love Saint or do you hate this man. Mila will also have your feelings torn between frustration, sympathy and adoration. A dark story that will pull you into the shadows where you will be caught up in the angst, emotions and the unexpected. Your mind will be conflicted by your heart as the cold cruel side of Saint gives way at times to the soft and caring side he occasionally shows. This book was intense and you felt the push and pull between these two. As lines start to blur you will be left hanging by a thread and questions needing to be answered as Saint and Mila leave us on the edge begging for book 2.

    I love me a dark romance. And this was no exception. The push and pull between the characters, their undeniable chemistry and attraction yet their fight to keep each other at arms length made for an interesting and thrilling read. They both challenged each other in different ways which made their story more exciting to read. Always wondering who will come out on top in the end.

    I love saint. His character, so full of depth, you think you have him pegged but he easily flips the script in some form even by doing something small. I loved his POV more than reading Mila’s. I don’t know what it is but I’m always more enthralled reading the males POV than the females. And I think it’s because for me, there’s more depth to them and seeing their inner thoughts etc is fascinating to me. Saint was no exception. Yes he is a grade A ass but you can’t help but in some small way love him even if it’s his snippet of a soft side.

    Mila, I know is a relatable character in her background which made her more compelling to read. Definitely a character you get behind and hope gets her HEA after the life she’s dealt.

    Deals, secrets, a sizzling romance and everything in between this book has it all. The plot is incredibly well written, it sucks you in and keeps you there before spitting you out, leaving you with bated breath wondering what could possibly happen next.

    I throughly enjoyed this book. It definitely commanded and held my attention from the first page and I cannot wait to get stuck into book 2.

    A great start to this trilogy the characters of Saint and Mila are great and the storyline interesting. Mila a poor girl bought up in the American Foster system passed from one home to another with abusive Foster parents who only cared about the welfare cheque has no prospects no future and works two poorly paid restaurant jobs knows nothing about why she was abandoned and who her family are. Saint is a rich arrogant man who has an agenda and needs her to complete it she is kidnapped forced into marriage told some of her heritage and then used for him to get his way in the meantime the chemistry between them sky rocketed and she fell for him. We are left with a cliff hanger when she runs from him and gets into a car with who knows can't wait to read the next book.
