Royal Pickle: A Romantic Comedy (Royally Pickled Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 2,105 ratings

He’s a prince who can’t keep his pants on. She writes dirty limericks in a Brooklyn deli. Their spontaneous royal wedding is a match made in mayhem.

I have to find a wife.
And not just any wife.
A love match.

My parents gave me ten years to find a princess on my own, and the deadline has arrived.

I’ve outrun the palace guards for months, but due to an incident in a rooster Speedo that went viral, they have tracked me to America.

I’m not known for my stellar taste in the opposite sex. The last one put my naked pictures on Instagram.

But there is this one girl. I saw her in a New York deli making sandwiches. She helped me escape the photographers.

Smart. Beautiful. Quick-witted.
Yes. I choose her.

Now all I have to do is convince her to marry me.

In the next seven days.

Another great pickle
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. JJ Knight has written another great book for the pickles. Sunny and Leopold are maybe my favorite. They bring out the best in each other. I loved all of Sunny's limericks. The mini donkeys were a treat. I laughed, I got teary when the misunderstandings happened and was so happy when Sunny the room he painted and realized she was wrong and the trek back. Definitely a must read, cant wait to see what's next from JJ.

I’ve read several of the previous books about the Pickle family, and have loved each one. This one was great, about a simple deli worker finding her Prince. JJ Knight has done a wonderful job of writing about a couple so in love, that they defy all obstacles placed in front of them.
Leopold is Prince of Avalonia, but has run away to sow his wild oats, before he is forced to marry. He has met with some unscrupulous women, and has been all over the internet. He runs into Grammy’s deli, while hiding from the paparazzi, and Sunny helps him. Immediately he is enamored of her mind, and then her personality, and beauty. He returns to ask her to marry him, and talks her into it.
Sunny is a member of the Pickle family, and works at the deli, living a lonely, single life. She is surprised when Leopold asks for her hand, but she agrees to marry him. When she and Grammy go to pack her things, she has second thought, but eventually she goes with him to his home country.
While in Avalonia, Sunny meets with resistance, from the royal couple, and some of the guards. Her life is made difficult, but Leopold is always there to comfort her, by showing her how much he has fallen for her. The King forces Leopold to meet with the Princesses, that he had chosen for him, and Sunny experiences so many insecurities, and misunderstandings, she runs away, and meets her family at the airport. She tells them the whole story, about what she has been through, and they rally together, to help her. Sunny realizes that she never voiced her insecurities to Leopold, and returns to confront him. Meanwhile, Leopold has abandoned the Kings chosen Princess at the altar. With the help of his sisters, they escape, and he reunites with Sunny. The wedding finally happens in an unusual manner, and Leopold and Sunny finally reach their HEA. The books ends in a beautiful epilogue, and I highly recommend this book.

This story is zany and fun. It features royalty, a marriage of convenience, forced proximity, and a misfit poet. I loved the story's outlandish antics; it read like a movie. The family, unexpected issues, and happy-ever-after ending were steamy and chuckle-worthy.

I saw this book on Facebook, and it looked like a fabulous romantic comedy. I can't wait to get into it. I love the blurb and the cover.

Sunny works at her family deli in Brooklyn. She is in midlife, but her day gets totally upturned by a camera-shy Prince. However, she nerds out a little. Her reaction could be more impressive. She is a little odd, but I love that she is an inspiring writer.

Prince Leopold is supposed to find a bride but mostly avoids the ones his family has picked for him. One last bad judgment call, and he finally comes up with a solution to his issue.

Well, that was a spur of the moment but solely works with the marriage of convenience trope, and the royalty one isn't bad. The story is a whirlwind from New York to Avalonia. I love the start of their chemistry, and her oddities make this read that much more lighthearted.

This book gets steamy as they spend more time together. At first, they are forced to be close, but then they really do want to be in each other's presence. There are some moments of ridiculousness in the story, but there are also the sweet ones that keep you going. I'm patiently awaiting her family's arrival.

Things don't go as planned, which becomes a dramatic end to this book. But I loved the quirky characters and the outlandish adventures.

Sunny Packwood, cousin to Jace, Max & Anthony Pickle has worked with her Granmmy's deli in Brooklyn since she was a little kid. In her spare time she loves to write poetry and limericks. One day a gorgeous guy comes running in and goes into hiding from the paparazzi. Sunny helps him escape out the back door. She also finds out he is Prince Leopold, Prince of Avalonia. When the Prince surprisingly comes back he has a question for Sunny....would she do him the honor and be his bride. Oh, yeah....they would have to be married within seven days! After some consideration, Sunny agrees.

Sunny's life is currently in a whirlwind. Leo is trying to spend time convincing her they are good together, but others in the royal staff are making her doubt everything. Just when Sunny finally realizes that what she has with Leo is real, the forces to be end up ruining everything. By the time Sunny realizes what she really wants, she thinks she may be too late, but in a great twist, everything ends up just like it should have.

I just adored Leo. He was so fun and adorable. I loved the way he just knew there was a connection between him and Sunny. I really enjoyed Sunny too. She was a great partner for Leo. I loved how she was with his sisters too. Overall this was another great story in the laugh out loud series.

Read the series after reading Rory’s and Mack’s book. Loved every one of them. All great love stories including this one. I would still sack Rosenthal and Grisholm though. The King also needs to be given a head slap. Love Leo’s sisters and there sibling bond. Sunny stayed true to herself but communication is the cornerstone of all relationships.

From the moment Theopold and Sunny, met when he was escaping the press, their lives had been in a whirlwind. They were from different backgrounds and needed time alone together to get to know each other. However the king was unhappy with the Prince’s choice of wife and decided to create havoc by installing another bride in Sunny’s place.
