The Breakup Artist (Cupids Book 4) Kindle Edition
I’m an expert in break-ups. From the slow fade, to extreme ghosting, to, ‘but you never said I couldn’t send pics of my junk to your step-sister on Instagram’ - I’ve seen it all… and built a mini-empire along the way. My blog, the Break-Up Artist, uses my past heartache to help people move on - and avoid weeping on the floor at 3am consuming their body weight in spray cheese and Oreos. Ahem. Now, I have a new job that could mean the big-time: helping a famous Hollywood it-couple navigate their tricky break-up. Except not everyone wants them Splitsville. The movie studio needs to keep them together to promote their big movie, and they’ve sent someone to make sure I fail in my first VIP gig.
Wes Baxter. Also known as my ex. Also ALSO known as, the guy who broke my heart so thoroughly, I had to turn myself into a self-help guru just to get over him.
I’m determined to follow my own advice (no drooling over Wes’s perfect abs, or remembering how he rocked my world) but being trapped together at a luxe country retreat isn’t helping things… And neither is Wes’s early-morning naked swim habit. Soon, love is in the air, the sparks between us are hotter than ever, and I’m seriously questioning my ‘no backsies’ policy. Wes swears he’s changed. He wants to try again, and he’s got an annoyingly sexy way of convincing me. But can second chances really work? Or has the Break-Up Artist finally met her match?

- Reviewed in Australia on 11 May 2020The Breakup Artist by Lila Monroe is the fourth book in her slightly connected Cupids series. A standalone romance set in the same world as the other books in the series and connected by friendships with the other characters in those books. This is the story of Katie Peters, the breakup artist, and Wes Baxter, her ex that made her the woman she is today and who's ghosting of her caused her to become the breakup artist. Told in dual POV, set between New York and California, with some crazy movie stars and hollywood business people thrown in, this was a feel-good romance, with some angst, some wonderful back and forth between Katie and Wes, some Hollywood dramatics, some new wonderful friends and an ultimately awesome happily ever after. For me, a Lila Monroe story is like a good friend. Comfort, camaraderie, and a great time had by all. Loved it! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars “I think we’re put on this earth to . . . grow into the best versions of ourselves.”
Verified PurchaseKatie Peter’s never asked to be known as the breakup artist. When Wes Baxter ghosted her a few years back, she poured her heartache into her blog, which eventually grew into a profession of her helping others get through a break up and over their ex. Now she has a chance to provide her services to the hottest couple in Hollywood, and her old flame Wes just happens to be the studio attorney for the golden couple.
It’s not long ago that I found this funny lady's books, but she continues to deliver a story that sweeps me away, charms me effortlessly, and manipulates my heart strings in the very best of ways. Katie and her BFFs are the girl tribe we all need in our lives, and their interactions keep me in stiches.
I love this book so much! Not just because it’s a second chance romance, but because it shows us that, while people may grow and change, the coming together of two souls is forever. Yes, it's full of mayhem and shenanigans from quirky endearing characters, but it’s the element of heart, winding it’s way throughout the story, that sets this book apart.
If you’re not familiar with this phenomenal series, you really need to fix that, and Wes and Katie's story is a great place to begin. Your abs will get a laugh-induced workout, you'll love the tension between Wes and Katie, and you absolutely won’t be able to put it down. Don’t miss this exceptional romcom that is sure to leave a smile on your face and a happy sigh in your heart!

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun read
Verified PurchaseLila Monroe books are a lot of fun and The Breakup Artist was no different.
I really enjoy second chance romance and the way Wes and Katie’s relationship had ended and her subsequent career made for good reading.
Five years have passed since this pair last saw each other and they are both very different people from who they were when they were together. I liked that both characters had developed as they did and that they could both admit that they still had a spark, even if Katie was hellbent on ignoring it to start with.
Their interactions with Katie’s clients gave us some crazy moments and when she realised that Wes was actually trying to work against her her fiery nature and sass just seemed to enamour her ex even more.
Some communication between them would have helped avoid the drama that came between them but then again, would they have tried as hard and realised what they really wanted if the drama hadn’t occurred?
Even though it’s the fourth book in the Cupids series it could be read as a standalone - which helps as I’ve only read one of the previous three books, even though I have them all on my kindle, but that’s something I’m definitely gonna be resolving ASAP.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall good
Verified PurchaseOverall, this book was good. I've enjoyed the series but sometimes they just go so quickly (which is good, I hate drawn out stories) but sometimes I feel like the endings of her books go too fast compared to the rest of the plot.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Breakup Artist!!
Verified PurchaseSecond chance at love is one of my favorite genres. Katie thought she had to be someone she wasn’t when she was first with Wes. Wes felt like she didn’t open up to him but he still did the breakup all wrong. Only to find each other fives years later. Glad it all worked out.
