V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her mama over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn't happen.

Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it.

When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors.

    Trigger warning: extremely dark themes, mentions of sexual assault, abuse, violence and child trafficking
    This is a book with twist and turns and a complex story. Loosely, it follows an MMC and his quest for vengeance against a man he thinks killed his mother. In his desire for revenge he captures the man's daughter. This is probably one of the darkest books I've ever read and yet it's so gripping and captivating I couldn't put it down. The story is heartbreaking, with misunderstandings and so much pain, you don't know who to trust or who you like or even what side you're on until the last 20 per cent or so. It touches on a depraved part of society I hope doesn't truly exist but pulls you in with excellent use of imagery and characters pain that is so believable. The setting and the side characters add something so special to this story too, notably the butlers and the sister. The spice is nice but at times questionable and any happiness at the end is hard fought.
    If you've got the strength for it, this book is well worth the read but it is complicated, heartbreaking and very dark

    The Heart of a Villain is book two in the Villain duet series. The heart of a villain picks up where the first book ended, and once again, when you start reading, it is hard to put down. We find out Rush's story and why he is the way he is. The book flits between the present and the past to explain events from the past and how they relate to the future. Aileen has been given a task to find where the twin's mother hid her diary so they can find out what happened to their mother. She falls for Rush while trying to find out where the diary is and helping Lavender stay away from their Uncle Jade. Will Jade ever get his happy ever after or be destined to be alone forever?
    If you love a very dark romance with a take on Beauty and the Beast, you will love this read. You will need to read Book One in the duet, so you know what is happening in this book. It's full of suspense and twists and turns you don't see coming. There is some graphic detail in some parts with some of the punishments dealt out to their enemies. If this is a trigger for you, this might not be the book for you.

    Book 2 begins exactly where Book 1 ends. Aileen awakens in the house on the other half of Rush’s island, not seeing Rush but his twin Rafael. A well-known attorney who makes a request of Aileen, find his mother’s diary, hidden somewhere in Rush’s castle to learn the truths that have been hidden for years. Under an agreement not to ‘trespass’ on each other’s half, Rush still arrives to take Aileen back with him. NOTE: readers meet Rafael’s new wife, Emmaline King and their story will be forth coming. Readers learn more of the background of these star-crossed lovers and Rush’s “relationship” with her father Lachlan. Does the diary hold the answers they both need? What role does the twin brothers’ sister Lavender play? Is she really unhinged? And what of their father’s twin, Jade Wright who raised Rafael and Lavender after the deaths of their parents. Is he who he seems to be? Is Lachlan the monster in Rush’s story. Will Aileen and Rush find any happiness or is he truly the Beast in her favorite story about Beauty who finds her prince?
    VF Mason has created a riveting story of evil, hope, love and regret. Her characters are flawed and yet redeemable.
