The Golden Boys: Dark High School Bully Romance (Kings of Cypress Pointe Book 1) Kindle Edition
West Golden—so easy to hate, yet so hard to resist.
Don’t let that pretty face of his fool you. He isn’t the boy next door, or the kind you trust with your heart. He’s the devil in designer jeans, with all the charm of a bona fide psycho.
Trust me.
He swears I did something to cross him before I even stepped foot inside Cypress Prep, but it’s a lie. No one knows better than me that I’m all out of chances. One more misstep and I can kiss my future goodbye, which means I can’t possibly be guilty of whatever he thinks I’ve done.
West marks me with a target anyway, and as this town’s football star, no one dares to go against him. His money, status, and the loyalty of his equally entitled brothers makes him seem untouchable. Only, I know better than that.
This false god isn’t infallible like he wants the world to believe. Whenever I stare into those devilish green eyes, I see it plain as day. The chink in his armor. His one and only weakness.
Me.
The King of Cypress Prep has finally met his match and taking him down just became an inside job.
***
The Golden Boys are all smokin’ hot, but there’s only one guy for Blue Riley, which means this romance isn’t a reverse harem. Also, full disclosure, this saga does contain strong bully themes. So, if you’re not into romances where hate turns into love (well … eventually), and if you don’t like your heroes of the unapologetically alpha variety, this might not be the book for you.
There is no rape or dubious consent whatsoever. However, the series does contain adult themes and sexual situations. One-click and get lost in this series today! Smooches! RJ & NT

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 October 2020This book was a really enjoyable bully romance, very different from any other that I’ve read before. This book has mystery and deep secrets that you just want to figure out, I couldn’t put this down. I just want to see what was going to happen. I mean that cliffhanger What?... I definitely need more, i already can’t wait for the next book. I’m also really intrigued to see what happens with the other 2 brothers and how their stories are gonna go.
I loved the gossip girl vibe, the whole anonymous blog was fun and it definitely added alot to the story. I absolutely love mystery, i suck at figuring things out. But i feel like a anonymous like character brings alot to a story. The authors did a great job of this.
I absolutely loved blue. I loved how fierce she was, but how she also showed weakness, especially when it came to West she just knew what she wanted and I don’t think she was ashamed to go for it. I loved the relationship between her and her sister and I can’t wait to see more of it. I love sibling love in stories and It really showed blue in a different light. She was mature and really cared for her family. I actually admired her alot and also related to it. I had to grow up fast when i was a child so I sympathised with this alot, especially with her mum just leaving.
Now, lets talk about west. I have 0 words but also 1000000 words for this character. West is just that boy that you hate to love, but you just love him anyway. No matter what he says or does you will love him.. I totally understand how blue felt. How she was so drawn to him because i felt that to. The authors did an amazing job with that and with him. He’s a hard puzzle to solve, he’s dark and different but you know deep down he feels everything on a whole different level. He’s a hot and cold character for sure. Again you can’t help but just get drawn to him. I think that’s what made the relationship between him and blue so incredible because you could just feel the push and pull so intensely. They had an amazing chemistry and I can’t wait to see how the story continues with this couple. The angst and suspense got me hooked. Im definitely sticking around for this series!
Again I highly recommend this book. The mystery and suspense. The angst and steammmmm. Like holy hell. West and Blue were smoking, the push and pull, the hate and love, the back and fourth was amazing and i loved every minute of reading this. Of course it leaves on a cliffhanger so I’m super excited for the next book..
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 October 2023‘The Golden Boys’ is the first book in the bully romance series: ‘Kings of Cypress Pointe.’ These authors (Rachel Jonas & Nikki Thorne) are both new to me so I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this book—especially considering that before this I was in a slump, unable to stick to anything—but i can say that I did.
This book helped to pull me out of my slump by drawing me in and capturing me attention from the start. It’s full of twists, turns and even more angst—which I thrive off of by the way—you never know what you’re going to get with these characters. With a strong female lead and a hot and cold male; both twisted and broken made for a great slow burn.
Blue Reilly is from the wrong side of the tracks, with dead beat parents who don’t care about her or her siblings, she’s left to raise her younger sister alone; doing her best to be the parental role model—and everything else—she needs. She’s selfless, putting her needs aside by trying to do the best that she can; this is where I could relate the most to Blue, so I made my understanding of her situation that much clearer as I could sympathise with her.
However, West Golden is just one of triplets. They come from money with a father who is manipulative and often caught in the act of his infidelity—specifically by West. West happens to come across of a picture of Blue in a compromising manner and from that moment on he hates her. So he considers it a sign from the universe when she transfers to his school and he takes it upon himself to make her pay for what he beloved she’s doing to his family.
Our ‘king Midas’ and ‘New Girl’’s dynamic is off the charts with constant back and forth between the two, they try hard to fight their attraction to one another but that doesn’t always pan out. The secrets withheld; the underlining of miscommunication all adds to the angst that these two characters face. Building to the explosion I know is going to come tumbling down around them.
There’s still so many questions especially around how Blue’s photo end up on West’s father’s phone. The curiosity is burning me alive I just want the answers now but I’m willing to be patient—so glad I don’t have to wait for book two.
An anonymous source posts updates of the coming and going of the elite—via an app—specifically targeting West and Blue. Sound familiar? Well it better. I loved this ‘Gossip Girl’ aspect so much, it add such an uniqueness to the series and my hope is that we won’t have to wait too long to find out who the person behind it all is (unlike with the original series).
After that cliffhanger, I can’t wait a second more to find out what happens next. Who cares what time it is right now? Or the fact that it’s 1 am. Book two here I come!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2020Thoroughly devoured this book. I've read so many school bully romances, and whilst I have no issue with the darkness in them, they often lack any emotional connection. You can have a bad guy bully, but in order for his actions to hit hard, you need him to have a human side too, otherwise, it's just evil with no redeeming features and the reader stops caring. I see this time and time again, but not in this book. West is a total bastard to Blue, but we understand why, even if he's assumptions are way off mark. We also see the goodness underneath which makes his fleeting moments of regret and remorse so much more powerful. We care about him, which makes what he does to Blue all the more painful and powerful.
This is also written well and with maturity often lacking in this genre. The pace is quick and flows, the story zips along. I read it in just two sittings and was then gutted that we have to wait so long for the sequel. But wait I will as it will be worth it!

Lately it's been really hard to find one that I'm so passionate about I go and find a group on Facebook to talk about it. Well then this little beauty came along, there honestly aren't enough words to explain how much I enjoyed this book. Every character had been carefully created so they became very real to the reader. The story was so unique and the cliff hanger!!! God this book made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me do angry I nearly three my phone. For me that is what a brilliant book is all about! I cannot wait for book 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect start for this new series!
Since reading Wendi L. Wilsons book The Second Move i was curious about Wests and Blues story. Ever since then i was looking forward for this book to release. And i have to say this enemies to lovers romance has everything i love about high school bully romances!!! This is the first time reading a book written by the authors Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne and i really enjoyed their style of writing. The Golden Boys is the first book in the Kings of Cypress Prep series. The authors created a beautiful world and a perfectly excecuted plot!
West and Blue are two broken people that carry a lot of weight on their shoulders. They try to protect their loved ones in every possible way. Both of them have a unique bond with their siblings and is willing to sacrifice their happines for the loved ones. They fit perfectly together and have great chemistry. Hopefully Blue and West find their HEA in the upcoming books. She deserves a happy ending!!
I really liked Pandora...it created this Gossip Girl Vibez. Can‘t wait for the revelation who is behind Pandora.
I really can‘t wait for the second book because there a so many secrets yet to be revealed. What is West hiding? What is his father Vin hiding? What is the connection between Vin and Blue? Why is Hunter so concerned about Blues and Scars safety and so on...
Aaaaaand this Cliffhanger😱😱 i am hooked. You have done a great job!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enthralling
I am a HUGE enemies-to-lovers fan, and because of that I am pretty picky when it comes to books. Well this one blew me out of the water. There are times when you love West and can’t wait for him and Blue to be together, and then there are times that he is so terrible to her that my chest physically aches for her. Whenever a book is able to do that I know I’ve hit the jackpot. I cannot wait for book two! I have so many theories about Vin and the picture and how he got it, and whether it goes to what her brother told her.
Now I am nursing a book hangover and am finding it really difficult to find a book to keep me as enthralled as this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars this was just... disappointing to say the least.
I don’t even know where to start... I get that this is a high school romance book, but man it’s frustratingly SLOW they just go round and round in circles and when you think they will move a step ahead the author just goes 10 behind. But what’s most disappointing about this book is having a female character painted a strong, independent, etc. and then seeing she has ZERO real backbone and for what? A boy? Really? After all the crap in her life and what she has been through she falls apart for a guy that treated her like crap at every turn? It was infuriating and extremely frustrating and disappointing having the author not really deliver the character we where told she was. Because not even ONCE she stood her ground with him, she no matter what he did or said gave everything to him and gave it so easily “just because he suddenly was standing to close to her” like girl where is your supposed strength and determination? There is honestly nothing more disappointing than an author not delivering when it comes to how a character is told you she is, and West? Boy do I actually HATE him, he has pissed me of wayyy to many times I found myself NEVER actually rotting for them or him for that matter the whole damn book. I just really wanted them to go their own ways he just plainly sucks and I’m not even talking about the “pranks” he did to her. His whole personality and character are just awful. I don’t even like Parker but man the way he spoke to her and treated her at that party? It was just beyond insensitive and I don’t like characters that are that way just because they think they can. Like yeah you didn’t want to go on with her but did he really have to do it the way he did? And say that stuff? Does he really have any humanity of empathy for others? Instead of us seeing that he has actually a shred of decency in him it just proved more just what an irredeemable character he is for me. I just don’t like him at all. The ONLY reason I give this a 2 star instead of 1 is because I LOVE RICKY yeah he is on the bad side of the law and whatever, but to her? He is honestly such a great, sweet and understanding guy. The whole book! He was there for her without wanting anything in return he just wanted to support her because he truly cares for her. I wished he was more in the book he just has my heart completely and the whole book I wished she would just go back to him. And I find it hilarious that blue says yeah I don’t want to be with him because of let’s say his “job” so then... what... you do wanna be with a guy who has zero respect and empathy for you or any girl for that matter? Has zero values? Or concerns about hurting people with his words or actions? Is a total sh*it person to everyone just because he wants to and thinks he can without zero repercussions?.. like girl really? There wouldn’t even should be a choice of who should she be with for me. I don’t even know if I wanna read the second book because first like 350 pages for it to lead to nothing? Just going over and over the same crap? The second book may be the same, second I just can almos say with certainty that the person she called at the end to pick her up is Ricky which if I’m right is gonna piss me off cause honestly? She doesn’t deserve him being there for her AGAIN she deserves to lay down and take the consequences of her own stupidity, and third I don’t know it the author is gonna do that crap where Ricky somehow will turn into the bad guy just so you could be like hmmmm... maybe west isn’t so bad? Because I loved Rickys character so much I don’t wanna have to read that crap so you can tolerate west. Like hell nahh so yeah don’t recommend this book AT ALL especially if you read it with hopes of seeing a truly strong female character that has a backbone and doesn’t just folds because he is “to close to her” that’s just bs, grow some character blue I expected wayyy more from someone that has gone through the crap she went. Just a little tip to the author SOMETIMES You just tell the crappy guy (west) to F off and have blue move on to something way better that that trash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not for the faint of heart, but oh soooooo worth it!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
YOWZA!!!! What a juicy, mind spinning read!. Be warned, it ends with a cliffhanger that will leave your jaw on the floor desperate for book two! I have faith in our author that all shall be revealed. It will just be a helacious wait 😉. Blue has grown up raising her little sister as neither parent actually did that job. It starts with her discovering a note her mother left explaining why she'd snuck away and left them all like a thief in the night. She claimed it was to clear her head, and would be a few weeks. She also said her older brother Hunter had something in the works and should bring in money the household needed. Yup that didn't end up being true. With her older brother now in prison, and Blue as a senior in high school left as the lone adult in the house...its up to her to make certain her little sister Scarlet gets to be a kid. The last thing her older brother did was secretly send in an application for her to go to the elite Cypress Prep, and she was shocked to receive a welcome letter as she'd had zero clue of the application in the first place. She's from the proverbial "wrong side of the tracks" but she would do anything (within reason) to give herself and Scarlet a chance at a better life. Even if it meant leaving her comfort zone, her friends, and go to a school of snobs and mean girls. Sadly she had no clue what was really waiting for her. Blue is a highly intelligent, street smart, witty, snarky, fierce, bada$$ female...but it will take EVERYTHING she has to survive what's to come. No spoilers, but I'm hoping what occurs is a misunderstanding... Sadly, one that Blue isn't even clued in on. She has no clue about how the king of the school formed his opinion of her....and I've a sneaky suspicion he doesn't have all the facts. A game is afoot, can Blue figure out the game... And like when she plays basketball....can she come out the victor and keep her heart from being shredded? She will need every tool she's ever acquired to survive. Secrets galore litter the pages of this awesome read! This book was the intro to this brilliant series...and I've a feeling one by one these secrets will be revealed. I for one can't wait to see the reactions and paybacks to come. One thing is for sure things are about to explode!!! Don't be left behind!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars New favourite to add to the list
Ok, this is definitely a new fave for me.
These authors are new to me and I must say, they killed this! I love the angst, the FMC and how she held her own, the interesting dynamic between the characters and I story as a whole.
Plenty of twists in this book that I didn’t see coming. The profession of the relationship between the characters was interesting. I love how the lines blurred the further in we got and that it felt relatable and organic also. I love a FMC that can hold her own as well as dish it back and seeing Blue not only take it but give West a taste of his own medicine was great.
I can completely relate to Blue and I think that’s what I enjoyed most about the book. There were so many similarities between us that while reading I felt completely engrossed and consumed by the story. The plot is great and set at an easy pace to follow but is also never dull which made for an exciting read.
The narrators did a great job. Their voices suited the characters well and completely sold the story. They made reading this book a whole new experience, their tones easy and smooth to listen to and I look forward to seeing what else they have under their belts. Look forward to diving into book 2.
