The Gossip and the Grump (Three BFFs and a Wedding Book 2) Kindle Edition
See that guy over there? The insanely tall, broad-shouldered, dark-haired, scowling, “I don’t drink coffee” suit?
Surprise! He’s the new owner of my family’s mountain café.
The café that has been my life purpose since I was born in the kitchen there almost thirty years ago.
The café that he’s planning to completely gut and renovate for revenge against my family.
He’s also the funny, charming, irresistible guy I spilled all of my secrets to last week.
During the hottest one-night stand of my life.
As my dog would say, woof me.
Secrets and gossip keep getting me in trouble, and I swore I was done with both, but now my family’s café is on the line.
It’s time to use every last trick I know to uncover every secret this man is hiding.
I don’t care how much I liked him our first night together, or how much I keep seeing glimpses of that man beneath his gruff exterior.
One of us has to go.
It won’t be me.
The Gossip & The Grump is a one night stand to enemies to lovers romcom featuring a woman desperately trying to unlearn everything she knows about everyone, a grumpy misfit hiding a secret heart of gold, an unfortunate incident with powdered cheese, and the world’s biggest lap puppy. It stands alone, but you wouldn’t go wrong to read The Worst Wedding Date first.

About the author

Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did.
Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

- Reviewed in Australia on 27 January 2024Verified PurchaseI really enjoyed Grayson and Sabrina's story. They had one pretty memorable beginning but when they came face to face with one another back in Snaggletooth and realised that Grayson was the one who had bought Sabrina's cafe - well that's when things got interesting. I loved the banter between these two as well as the cast of small town characters. A great addition to this series!
- Reviewed in Australia on 7 September 2024Verified PurchaseAfter reading the first book, I was keen to get stunk into this one but I have to say it didn't quite meet the mark as much for me. The characters were all okay and the storyline itself was fine but to be honest I was just kind of hoping for more I think? Either way, I think if you're someone who enjoys rom-coms you will like this, it is entertaining in places, just not anything amazing. 3.75 stars, happy reading!
- Reviewed in Australia on 2 November 2023Verified PurchaseI loved the first book in this series, and I enjoyed this one too. One night together and Sabrina had run away from that night, and Hawaii after her BFF’s wedding that never happened. She was facing the devastation of her slimy cousin having sold her beloved family café and was shocked when she discovered who the new owner was. Her one night stand.
Grey has his own agenda, determined to tear the café apart to hurt Chandler for what he’d done to him in the past. He’s shocked and angry when he discovers the real identity of his one night stand. He is suspicious of her at first and hurt because she’d left when he’d wanted more.
I loved the small town and how everyone helps each other out and even though in this case Grey could have been hated since everyone knew why he was there. There was so many great characters from Zen to Mimi and of course all of Sabrina’s friends.
I loved that Grey was not this perfect male specimen like is so common in romance books. He had flaws, insecurities, weaknesses and he’d been hurt by his family and bullied by others. Chandler being one of them, hence his motivation to try and hurt him. The problem of course being someone like Chandler was impossible to hurt.
This was really quite a slow burn kind of read, but the characters are all so likeable and I learned a bit about bees, and Kombucha.
An enjoyable read and I can’t wait for book 3, especially after Emma’s little bombshell.

- Reviewed in Australia on 30 October 2023Verified PurchaseI love Pippa and this series of friends and town
I swooned over Grey and loved his protectiveness over Zen and Mimi
Kombucha well 🤷🏽♀️give it take for me .
My only thing about this book was the whole “ pronoun” thing.
I wasn’t sure what was going to to start with.
I kept thinking I had missed something with Zen and the them they thing. I thought at one stage Zen was part of a team.
Then I got it, Pippa was addressing the Pronoun issue or not really an issue, I’m unsure what word I’m meant to use.
For me I would just use Zein’s name to describe him in a situation but I did love his character Am I going to write about tge live story? Nope that’s fir you to read
Funny snort laughing another great one
Bring on Emma’s story and I missed the hint on who her baby daddy could be 🤣

4.0 out of 5 stars uma leitura leve
Verified PurchaseGostei bastante da leitura. Continua bem a série, mas pode ser bem entendido como um livro único. Uma história relativamente fluida, nos deixa com vontade de ler o livro 3 da série

5.0 out of 5 stars Good deeds!!
Verified PurchaseSuch a great love to come out of a great viral video tragedy.
These two found each other when they needed to and then found each other again.
I laughed throughout this one a few times. I also swooned a bit too. I can't wait to read more about this group of friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back to Snaggletooth Creek
Verified PurchaseIf book 1 gave us Theo and Laney's story, this one takes us back to Snaggletooth Creek, where we find out who bought the Bean & Nugget and what Sabrina will do to try and keep her family's café.
I have to say I was very excited for Sabrina and Grey's story and it did not disappoint! I loved the way their relationship progressed, how the story's also about finding the place where one truly belongs, and how we got to know the Tooth and its inhabitants better. Plus, there were more scenes with the Triplets (which I really enjoyed) and the additions of Zen (and their bond with Grey), Mimi and Jitter (the pup, who completely steals the show in the best way) were also great, and left me wanting more!
I loved reading The Gossip and the Grump and can't wait for more fun shenanigans, swoon and spice when we get to read Emma's story next!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too long
Verified PurchaseIn the starting story was nice and interesting. But slowly it's feel like never ending story too much dragged.
I finished the story by skipping few pages because I wanted to finish it.
