4.5 out of 5 stars 324 ratings

He's lost his voice. She's here to teach him to speak to the world again.

Faith
I love helping people communicate that can't. It’s why I became an ASL teacher.
Getting to work with military men and women who were injured in action? Sign me up. I can’t think of a better way to help.
I pride myself on keeping things professional…until him.
The letters he writes allow me to get to know him on such deep level.
He has me believing in love even if I try not to cross that line.

Logan
I remember the plane going down, then nothing. I woke up months later in the hospital, a few nasty scars… and no voice.
Basic communication has become a nightmare and I’ve never felt so alone even with all the people around.
Then Faith shows up teaching me how to communicate with sign language and with modern advances on my phone and tablet.
Our daily walks turn into nightly text messages, and I begin to think Faith might be able to heal my heart too.
Until the one day that my whole world is turned upside down…

Ms Rose delivers another spellbinding book in this unforgettable series a heart wrenching couldn’t put down military must read

I really enjoyed this story of how ASL teacher, Faith helps the eponymous Logan when he loses the ability to speak in a plane crash. This is a later book in a series but works well as a stand-alone story (although other characters from the previous stories feature). The reader has a great deal of sympathy with Logan as he struggles with his new reality and has a hard time moving forward, despite the unflinching support of his lovely ‘teacher’. Faith is a lovely character and instantly likeable for her unselfish devotion to her patient; unsurprisingly the two develop feelings for each other and their romance develops in a sigh-worthy way. Only Logan’s insecurity and need to ‘prove’ himself jeopardises their HEA. A heart-warming and gentle romantic read.

Logan was still trying get his head around his new reality of not being able to communicate, when Faith came into his life to teach him a new form of communication. Whilst he took to learning like a duck takes to water, he was still struggling with what his future would look like with regards relationships, jobs and making new friends. However, what he didn’t expect was for his growing attraction for Faith to be reciprocated and for her to give him the hope of having a wonderful life.

Unfortunately, Logan’s insecurities about their future together caused him to make a decision that nearly cost their relationship, but he soon realised that his procrastination could cost him a happily ever after, if he didn’t make things right and fight for them to get their happily ever after. This was a truly amazing story, that had me hooked from the beginning. The stories in the Oakside Military Heroes series may be fictional, but they also have an element of realism to it, because there are soldiers who suffer from the issues in the stories and unfortunately don’t have a place like Oakside to help them. Please find a way to support the heroes in your country.

This is the story of Logan and Faith which is told beautifully by Kaci.

Logan is a military man who is left without a voice after his plane crashes. Although he is still able to hear, he struggles living in a hearing world without a voice. He is taken from hospital to Oakside and is then introduced to Faith who will teach him sign language.

Faith is pleased to assist Oakside with their newest patient, and feels an instant attraction as she meets Logan.

Their chemistry and friendship develops despite their professional relationship and both can see a future together.

Can Logan overcome his insecurities and allow Fatih to be there for him? Can he trust that she is there for the right reasons?

This story covers a very real and sensitive subject, but is told beautifully and is another must read from the Oakside Military Heroes series.

    Thoroughly recommended.

This is the sixth book in this series about injured military men going to Oakside for rehabilitation, and the author has once again written a emotional story which holds your attention and keeps you turning the pages until the end. Logan is a Navy pilot injured in a plane crash and after being unconscious for several months wakens to discover that he has no voice. He is sent to Oakside, where Faith, an ASL teacher, is assigned to help him learn how to use sign language to communicate. The chemistry between them is immediate and they become close, but Faith has concerns as she is his therapist. As they try and work things out will their relationship falter as Logan tries to work out a future for himself? I thoroughly recommend this book, it can be read as a standalone if you haven’t read any of the others.

I really enjoyed seeing Logan and Faith connect and communicate, I found the story interesting and really liked learning about Logan's new world and how he adapted to it. It was nice to catch up with previous characters and meet new ones as well. I felt a connection to both Logan and Faith, and I believed in their connection and chemistry too. I really am enjoying this series and I am looking forward to seeing what book 7 brings.

Another great book in this series. Logan is a patient at Oakside after being involved in a military accident where he meets Faith, his ASL teacher. After losing his voice in the accident, Logan has to learn sign language from Faith to communicate. There is an instant connection between Logan and Faith, and she tries to show him how much of a future he still has. However Logan struggles, and despite falling for Faith, he decides he needs to figure out everything on his own, leaving Faith behind, heartbroken. A really lovely, heartwarming story. With passion, heartbreak and a lovely ending, a really great book.

Another great addition to the series but can be read as a standalone. Logan is an ex military man who was involved in a serious accident leaving him unable to speak and becoming a patient at Oakside. Faith is going to be his ASL teacher, helping him communicate with sign language and journaling his thoughts and feelings. has to learn sign language from Faith to communicate. There’s so much chemistry between the two.

After surviving a helicopter crash, yet the results leave you wondering what your life will be like. The life he once knew would have to be different, but how? He has met someone who has made him feel things, but who will want someone who cannot speak? The changes, adapting to his new situation, the mistrust of his entire situation, his feelings of inadequacies. This story will touch your heart, pull at your heart strings and make you believe in yourself and your abilities and dreams.

4.0 out of 5 stars He never said he was sorry!
Reviewed in the United States on 28 May 2024
I was really enjoying this story of a man learning to communicate without his voice, using ASL and an app that vocalized what he typed. I understood he needed to prove to himself he could navigate the world on his own, without the help of the woman who taught him all that, before he could ask her to tie her life to his. But leaving town with only a letter to her, and not responding to ANY of her many texts for weeks and months afterward, even though he secretly texted a mutual friend, was cruel. It was a somewhat lame plot device to keep them apart. He could have texted her while he was away, giving almost the same effect. But then when he came back for her, he never even said he was sorry! Her mental anguish should have rated that, surely. That ticked me off enough that I won't be reading any more of this series.

I love the Oakside Military Books. Was so glad when heard new books being added. Logan’s story was heartbreaking when he realized how lonely he was. But happy when he found Faith in more ways than one.
