    I didn't get two pages into 'Balls to the Wall' before I was reaching for the tissues and to be honest, I had to reach for them again and again throughout the whole of this amazing start to this new series. I fell in love with April Canavan when she wrote a book in the 'Cocky Hero Club'. I wasn't sure if she could live up to the peddle stool I put her on, but she did with this exceptionally good story.

    Remy and Parker have a history, they with their other friends have been close since childhood. But secrets, mistakes, angry words, tragedy, and misunderstanding has been the center of their life. But now all those elements are about to explode against the backdrop of someone trying to hurt Parker and her son Nox.

    I found this story a really powerful one that has been itching for the next story.

    Within 5 minutes I had tears streaming down my face and a box of tissues, and it was not the only time I needed one. This book was a roller-coaster of emotions. Yes I did blubber like a baby but I also laughed so much to. Not to mention wanting to throat punch some characters. This book is well worth the read.I am glad the boox ended on a good note. I have alredy read one series and I look forward to the next book.
    On another note please remember to wear underwear and a cup when proceeding to do any sort of sport.. 😂🤣🤦‍♀️

    Remy promised his friend that he'd look out for Parker if anything happened to him. It's a promise that Remy struggles with every day, watching the woman he loved mourning the loss of her husband whilst raising the son he never got to meet. Remy and Parker never really addressed their past issues and now they're both stuck in emotional turmoil. Added to that Parker is suffering one trauma after another, it's almost as if someone is out to get her.

    This is an emotional read but has a happy ending.

    When a book makes you so frustrated because of the lack of communication and the secrets they won’t divulge then I just can’t stop reading! The first few chapters made me so emotional and had me falling in love with every single character. The further into the story I got, the more I discovered. So much drama and anxiety, it was delicious. The plot just got better and better; Stalkers, tragic secrets and so much love, fabulous writing and character building it made me unable to put my kindle down.

    Parker has the weight of the world on her shoulders, she’s a mother and a widow but nothing seems to go right for her. My heart absolutely shattered with her throughout this book. She has a massive secret and a broken heart but she is a strong woman, she may finally get her man.

    Remy was a pain in my side. He has a secret too, he’s stubborn, pig-headed and downright stupid. I have no idea what goes through men’s heads sometimes, but I did love that man. He redeemed himself in a big way... eventually.

    This book was such a great read. The other characters were wonderful and I simply can’t wait to get their stories too.

    A suspense, action filled read with a second chance at love, a love that is finally happening. Parker and Remy have history together, a history which includes Danny, Parker’s son Nox’s father who sadly died in action, he may be dead but he plays a part in their story as his spirit visits them both giving them his words of wisdom all the while adding more depth to the story, encouraging Parker to reveal her feelings to Remy and vice versa, just like he done when he was alive.

    We’re treated to a story about a second chance romance for two high school sweethearts, there’s former military soldiers, and we learn just how much a letter can give them the hope needed to return home, and what happens when pride gets in the way preventing those letters from being read, there’s all this and more as secrets are revealed in this fantastically written, first book in April Canavan’s new Birch Police Department series.

    This was such a riveting love story, that I just couldn’t get enough of. It was a touching story, that had me going weak at the knees, when Parker finally revealed the big secret to Remy and what happened to Nox. The storyline had everything you would want to see in a heartfelt romance, including the motley crew of friends and family that were always there when they were needed. I just wanted to say thank you to April Canavan for writing a wonderful book. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the Birch Police Department Series.

    Another fabulous read from the author that had me hooked and unable to put the book down. I was quickly pulled in and could not get enough of the way things developed. With plenty of emotion packed into the pages, this is well worth the read.

    This story is about Parker and Remy who seemingly know each other but we don’t yet find out why or why she hates him so much
    Another secret is the one she is holding onto from her dead husband, what is it and why is she guarding it so,
    Then we get a stalker thrown in to the mix and again we are not sure who this is or why
    this book has it all fun, suspense, intrigue and romance
    It had me gripped from page 1 all the way to the end
    I was constantly trying to guess were it was gonna take me and yet I couldn’t lol, this was a fantastic read and I cannot wait to purchase the next in the series about Kennedy and linc

    This was my first, but will not be my last book by this author!! This story is grabbed my attention and emotions from the first page and never let go.

    This story contains everything I could desire in a book - first, wonderful characters, Parker, aren’t her son Nox, and then the friends and family - Linc, Kennedy, Casper, Emma and so many more.

    A compelling storyline that has enough mystery and suspense to fire the imagination and make me start guessing at the backstory and where the author is going next.

    Romantic tension and plenty of steam. A second chance romance that once you learn what happened sin their past your heart hurts for the years they’ve been separated and all that Parker has endured.

    I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and will be checking out the authors book library because the dialogue in this book elude to other storylines that seem intriguing too.

    New author on my list to follow!

    This book is my first one by April and I am totally blown away!!
    This story had me from the very beginning and I couldn't put it down!! This is such an amazing story with some angst, suspense, second chance and a single parent.
    It has it all... And it will leave you with ALL THE FEELS!!

    Remy and Parker are an amazing couple and I loved their story. Their connection and love is one you want for yourself. The way he loves her through all that they went through is the rare kind of love we all want!

    I loved the added suspense to it all makes this book an amazing read!! I can't wait for more from this series...

    This is a mew author for me so I didn’t know what to expect.
    Parker is a widow with a small son. The first chapter I’d heartbreaking
    Remy has known Parker for years. He pushed her away. But them He made a promise to protect them both but has kept his distance.

    Man, your son looks just like he was picked out of your ass. I don't know what's in the water for you Hayes boys."

    I did enjoy this book but there were times when it was a little confusing maybe because I haven’t read any other books by this author.
    The second half of the story was better and I will read more by this author.

    After everything, you were still there, even as my friend. You, Parker. You’re the reason I came home.

    Linc and Kennedy are next and I’ll definitely be there.
