Inappropriate Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 14,887 ratings

From number-one New York Times best seller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel.

Terminated for inappropriate behavior.
I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands.
Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba.
All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends - a
private video made on my private time. Or so I thought....
Pissed off, I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company and its practices.
I didn’t think he’d actually respond.
I certainly never thought I’d suddenly become pen pals with the rich jerk.
Eventually, he realized I’d been wronged and made sure I got my job back.
Only…it wasn’t the only thing Grant Lexington wanted to do for me.
But there was no way I was getting involved with my boss’s boss’s boss. Even if he was ridiculously gorgeous, confident, and charming.
It would be completely wrong, inappropriate even.
Sort of like the video that got me into trouble to begin with.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
But sometimes it’s twice as fun.

This book was nothing like I expected and to say I wasn't prepared is putting it mildly.
Rating: 4 starsSteam: 3 flamesGenre: Contemporary Romance*****Going into this book, I was prepared for a boss / employee relationship with some giggles. What I got was a complex story of loss, heartbreak, and pain that broke my heart, made me cry, and I am still wondering what in the world happened.Inappropriate starts out with a drunken mishap that leads to Ireland losing her job and then firing off a drunk email to her boss's boss's boss. Oh goodness, things are off to a great start. Of course, Grant the stuffy CEO takes interest in this strong, sassy woman with a snarky side. She stirs something in him that has long been buried under a mountain of pain and guilt. Eventually, the two come to an agreement and Ireland gets her job back, and then the flirting begins as does the witty banter. It was about 30% into the book when Grant's first flashback happened, and I knew then things were going to be bad…I just had no idea how bad they would get. This book ripped my heart to shreds and good heavens, I was not prepared for Grant's history at all. I was gutted and from 30% on, the book took turns towards a deeper more emotional dark side. When I finally got to the big reveal, my heart was in tatters, I was crying, and I needed a HEA.If you are looking for a romcom, this isn't it. If you are looking for an emotional journey towards forgiveness, healing, and love, this is your book. I love dark books, but I even had a tough time with parts of this book, the emotions were almost too much to bear.Do I recommend…I say enter cautiously as there is some serious stuff happening in this book. Grant is a wonderfully broken hero that will win your heart and Ireland is just the woman to put him back together. In the book you read "No rain No Flowers" a couple of times and it fits this book perfectly. You have to make it through the rain to get the flowers. Inappropriate was well-written and had many difficult subject matters in it that may be difficult for some.

Wow! This story is an emotional rollercoaster. The beginning of the book is pretty funny when one of Ireland's friends throw her life into choas with pictures that shouldn't have been shared. Grant, CEO and her boss, get the wrath of Ireland's anger in the form of a couple of emails written in her drunken state.
Grant has some deep wounds he hasn't been able to heal. Maybe Ireland will be the sauve he needs.
Grant's Gramps is a fun character and Grant is very loving and supportive toward him.
The story is well written and keep me interested.

It's extremely rare for me to rate a book by Vi Keeland as anything less than 5 stars, but I'll be honest and say that this was just sort of okay for me. Yes, the writing is exceptional. And yes, the beginning had me all sorts of hooked on the story. But as I got further in, I couldn't help the feeling that I had read this story before. Anyone who has read any of Keeland's work knows that she writes great banter, chemistry that is smoking hot, and connections that go deep. She also knows when to deliver a gut punch of emotion, and unfortunately I saw where this one was heading way too early for it to have the impact it should've.

I won't share too many details about the plot - that's something you should discover on your own as you're reading - but I will tell you how the book begins. Essentially, Ireland has worked hard at her job for the last several years, slowly moving up in the company and building up her career despite obstacles in her path. When video of her trip to a topless beach gets into the hands of the company, she's fired without warning and drunkenly sends an email to her boss's boss's boss, the CEO of the company. Grant is intrigued by the woman who so easily spoke her mind, but things get extremely complicated when Ireland gets her job back and neither one can forget the attraction that simmered between them.

While this is an office romance, it's not what I would consider typical for the genre. There are some light moments but most of the book is emotional, moving, and will probably be triggering to some readers. The writing itself is solid and the storyline interesting. I'm betting that if I had read this as someone unfamiliar with Keeland's other books, I wouldn't have experienced the story in the same way and probably would've enjoyed it more, though I think the heavy focus on the woman in Grant's past would've been problematic either way. That being said, I loved the chemistry and the evolution of their relationship. The start of the book was really great and there were plenty of other moments I loved along the way.

The story was good. Pops was great. Grant was thirty two kinds of personalities and Ireland was way too perfect. The story was almost too predictable. A lot sad, and not an amazing read but a good enough on.

THE GUIDE TO ROMANCE NOVELS - ARC REVIEW

Not my first read by author and yes she is on my top 10 author's and yes I have read every single book by her, all the series and standalone. I will say that I kind of wish this started a new series, would be ah-mah-zing.

This standalone snuck up on me & blew my mind!!!
It had banter, heart, passion and was very addicting!

Grant Lexington, where do I begin. CEO, powerful, in control, serious...a past that you will never guess and carrying the biggest guilt on his shoulders, along with the world. He deemed himself unable to love 7 years ago vowing to never repeat mistakes. Lie the blurb said, two wrongs never make a right, well fate is always a sneaky little thing. When he receives an angry email from one of his employee's one night, he is intrigued and even cracked a smile but not enough to peruse it. BING.

Ireland Saint James is a woman who grew up without family, the one she had was everything to her. She also has worked for everything in her life, including this job she just got canned from all due to some innocent fun. Going over the email she wrote the night of a drunken fest, she cringes when she re-reads it. After some courage she decides that another email is a must follow, because well, she isn't someone to give up that easy. A fighter. SENT. That should do it, at least if anything, she can't say she didn't try.

As I am always honest in my review's I won't lie and say that I was actually already expecting what will happen because I have read every single book by Vi and kind of felt familiar, as in her words and writing style. But boy was I jolted to reality when this took a turn for the best. What I enjoyed most is the way the hero and heroine were together, not your average boy and girl just felt...that's it I FELT THEM if that makes sense. They go really well together and I know I will forever remember this book. Watch out for the few twists, have tissue ready because you'll most definitely need it. Another AMAZING Standalone by Vi!!

Amo la forma de escribir de Vi Keeland. Y esta historia o es la excepción. Me encantó, me hizo reír, llorar y suspirar.
