A new, sexy standalone from #1 New York Times Bestseller, Vi Keeland.
He's her boss. She's his greatest temptation.
The first time I met Dawson Reed, we wound up in bed. The problem was, neither of us knew the other were there. When I woke up in the middle of the night and found a stranger next to me, instinct kicked in and I attacked the intruder. Only it turned out, the man wasn’t an intruder at all. Dawson had rented this cabin, too. Apparently, a system glitch allowed a duplicate booking. We’d soon find out we were in town for the same wedding, and Dawson was the groomsman I’d been warned about. He was as tall, dark and jaw-droppingly gorgeous as my best friend had described. Though she was also right when she’d said you two will hate each other. When daylight rolled around, Dawson and I attempted to straighten out the mess we found ourselves in. But it proved to be more difficult than we initially thought. Since it was a holiday weekend, there wasn’t a single room available for more than fifty miles. I suppose things could be worse than sharing a cabin for a weekend with a handsome man you despise. Like maybe him winding up being your new boss?

I finished Indiscretion by Vi Keeland a few weeks ago and can't stop thinking about this book. This heartfelt and hot romance had me hugging my Kindle by the final page. Without a doubt, Indiscretion secured a top spot on my Best of 2025 favorites list, and it's only the beginning of the year!
Dawson and Naomi's journey to their happily-ever-after is equally emotional and combustible--and Vi's signature witty banter adds that extra layer of addictive magic. I've been reading Vi's books for over a decade, and I'm always amazed by her ability to create fresh, unique love stories that still feel timeless. She has this way of making every couples' connection feel new and exciting, no matter how many books she's written.
Indiscretion is one of those books that stays with you long after you've finished. If you're a fan of heartfelt, fun, and spicy romances with unforgettable characters, Indiscretion is an absolute must-read! Thank you for another incredible book.
Dawson Reed is a defense attorney in New York who could use a few days away from the office. His best friend is having a destination wedding out of town, but the trip wasn’t his idea of a vacation since it was in the middle of nature. He arrives late and just wants to go to bed. He gets quite the surprise when he unexpectedly collides with a gorgeous woman who doesn’t appreciate a stranger in her space. As they figure out they both booked the same cabin, they try to find a solution to the inconvenient mix up.
Naomi Heart’s life lately has been chaotic. She’s working on a change in her career, and recently moved to New York for a fresh start. She’s currently in Michigan to be in her friend’s wedding, and has rented a cabin for her stay. When she learns her cabin was double booked she’s stressed. The man who she thought was an intruder also had reservations. Turns out they share mutual friends getting married, and are both in the wedding. The issue is there aren’t any other rooms for rent on a holiday weekend. They clash and then sparks fly as they try to resist temptation. They are insanely attracted to one another, but aren’t looking for a relationship. Will they be able to stay in the friend zone, or will sudden close proximity change everything?
Indiscretion by Vi Keeland is a sexy, standalone, boss/employee, one bed, forced proximity, office romance full of emotion, humor, undeniable chemistry, fabulous banter and unexpected love. It’s a heartwarming, opposites attract story that will hit you in all the feels. <333
CHEF’S KISS!!! Right from the start I knew I was going to enjoy this book, it was a straight punch to the heart! The banter, the flirty and undeniable sexual tension, grips you from the moment Dawson and Naomi meet. This forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine romance has everything you need and want in a sit down and read in one sitting story. Dawson comes off as a way into himself cocky douche canoe but as the story develops this dirty talking, controlling and charming man redeems himself in the most sexy, caring and protective ways. As for Naomi, she’s definitely the kind of sassy, smart and endearing heroine I look for and want in a romance book. Together these characters are amusing, alluring and HOT! The sexy times are so steamy and fun. So if you like getting lost in a story with strong, compelling and interesting characters with a highly entertaining, deeply passionate, emotionally driven and fascinating storyline, you will be very impressed and satisfied with Dawson and Naomi’s REMARKABLY BEAUTIFUL and HEARTFELT story.
I LOVED IT SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I don't even remember how I found out about this book, but I'm so glad I did. It came out this month!!! I read it on KU. Sharing some quotes:
"You don't get happiness from material things; you get it from the people in your life."
"We don't know how long we're here for, and the only things that matter are the people who love you and the memories you can fall back on to give you peace of mind."
When you show up to your best friend wedding and book an AirBnB 6 months prior but when you get there so tired you don't notice all the tell tells that someone else is there. That is until when you get in bed you get clocked in the eye by a guest.
Dawson Reed a lawyer woke up in the middle of the night and was attacked by a rude irate women. Now you got a black eye for your best friends wedding.
Naomi an out of work lawyer was sleep in bed with her dog when she feels a body next to her. Believing it was an intruder she does the only thing she could think of, punch him in the face. Now her hand is broken and the stranger has a black eye only to discover the AirBnB was doubled booked. Now the wedding you both are in by the way pictures will turn out perfectly a pink cast and a black eye. Yay!!!
As you know Vi Keeland this is only the begining of the hilarous page turner and to boot Andi Arndt & Sebastian York m favorite duets are narrating.
Meh. A very generic but nice contemporary romance. Ms. Veeland’s writing style is easy and flows well. The characters are fine, nothing terribly obnoxious. The story just piddles through to the end, with the biggest conflict being Dawson having to deal with the loss of a high school friend. *shrugs*
Thank you #partners #givemebookspr & @vi_keeland for my #gifted copy.

They quickly realize that they’re both in town for a mutual friend’s wedding & vow not to make it “weird.” After a few drinks sparks begin to fly…
When Naomi decides to move to be closer to her sister & help with her kids she desperately needs a job & it just so happens Dawson is hiring.
Can Naomi help heal Dawson’s guilt? Can Dawson be the rock that Naomi so badly needs?
“I think [my heart] stopped beating for a long time & only started again because of you.”
This book was an emotional rollercoaster which I did not expect. I felt like I went through the wringer with these characters!
But when I tell you I LAUGHED OUT LOUD driving in the car listening to this I kid you not. Their encounter in the beginning had me rolling!
Side note: “You know I’ll eat ANYTHING that smells like coconut 🥥 😜.”- This made me LOL because every body product I use is coconut too 🤣 Anyone out there also love coconut? Asking for a friend! 😜
💭Who is an author that no matter what they write you’ll read it?
This was a pretty straightforward contemp romance. The MMC can be cocky, but I wouldn't call him and alpha-hole - he's a lot of talk, but super sweet and compassionate with all actual behavior. The FMC was cool too. So this was a low-stress unfolding of them coming together. I enjoyed it, but wasn't fired up at any point, so I'm going to stick with the 3.5 rating.
Love with sadness. Dawson and Naomi meet accidentally at a an outdoor wedding. They were both booked in the same cabin by mistake. After coming back to New York Naomi seeks a job as a paralegal. Dawson owns a law firm and he considers hiring Naomi. The only thing he's worried about is he's very attracted to her. It never works out. The story delves into Dawsons tragic past and since then he can't commit to anyone. I loved the different audio narration. Instead of each taking a chapter they're actually talking to each other. This made the book so much better
well shit... I love Vi's books, I truly appreciate her work, especially her previous ones... But somehow this story from the very first start felt just OFF...
I absolutely had no connections to either of the characters nor did they have any chemistry...everything about them seemed forced...the kiss, the touches, everything....and then they share the working space, the proximity and all...all of a sudden they are in love, but he's holding back because of the guilt trauma from his childhood...
I mean, it's not something I haven't read before BUT before it had some merit, it had some substance, emotions... this, unfortunately, doesn't even come close to that...for me
so, I have nothing more to say that would sound good at least, so I will stop now...sorry
I was absolutely HOOKED from the very first page. Once you start reading, you will see why. Gah. This whole book was just PHENOMENAL and you absolutely need to devour it. I went into it completely blind and I feel it made my experience that much better.
I’ve loved almost every book I’ve read by Vi Keeland, but Indiscretion honestly left a bad taste in my mouth. I found myself skipping chapters and just skimming for the important bits, which is never a good sign.
The story had potential. The intriguing premise and the employee-boss trope sold me initially. But here’s the thing: I just didn’t feel it.
Zero Chemistry: The connection between Dawson and Naomi was nonexistent for me. I love a good Elle Woods inspired character, but Naomi didn’t cut it. She wasn’t terrible, but she also wasn’t memorable or engaging. And the sheer amount of death and sickness in the book felt overwhelming rather than emotionally impactful.
Dawson—A Walking HR Nightmare: Oh, where do I even begin? From the first chapter, Dawson comes across as a guy who thinks constant sexual innuendos equal charm. Spoiler: they don’t. His behavior went from mildly amusing to repetitive and overbearing, turning every interaction into something creepy instead of sexy. He could’ve been asking for a pen, and I’d half expect him to say, “Oh, so you want sex?” It was exhausting.
The Past with Bailey: Dawson’s backstory completely ruined his character for me. Not only did he betray Allie and Bailey by being dishonest, but his choices also caused unnecessary heartbreak for both women. Sure, he was young and dumb, but there’s no excusing his actions, especially when he could’ve just been upfront. What made it worse was Naomi’s complete passivity about it. She just brushes it off with, “Oh, it’s not your fault,” as if honesty wasn’t an option.
Missed Potential: Dawson could have been redeemed. If the book toned down the constant sexual remarks and focused more on his character development, he might’ve been a complex, likable lead. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. In the end, Indiscretion was just not for me. The story had potential, but the lack of chemistry, overwhelming emotional drama, and the poorly written male lead overshadowed everything else.
I was fully expecting to rate Indiscretion five stars, but, unfortunately, it fell a little flat.
Indiscretion follows Naomi as she moves to New York looking for employment. Luckily for her, she had an interview with the man she shared a cabin with at her friend’s wedding and their attraction to each other was undeniable.
Unfortunately for me, the synopsis of the novel is not really indicative of what it was actually about. The synopsis made it seem like Indiscretion was going to be a fun workplace romance and while it is, it’s not really at the same time. The synopsis made it seem like the FMC was surprised to see who was interviewing her, while in reality she knew.
There’s also a much deeper story to the MMC that Keeland only skimmed the surface of. It was a story about overwhelming guilt, love, and friendship. This story was deeply emotional, but was not given the weight or space it needed.
The angst and chemistry between the FMC and MMC was lukewarm. Their banter could be enjoyable at times, though the MMC often came across as crass in a way that wasn't sexy.
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️
Overall, Indiscretion falls short of its promising premise, with underdeveloped emotional depth and a lack of true chemistry between the leads, leaving the narrative feeling flat and unfulfilled.
When Naomi Heart finds a stranger in her rented cabin she defends herself, hi ya! Apparently, Dawson Reed was accidentally booked in the same cabin for a wedding weekend they’re both attending. They might not of met under the best circumstances but their budding friendship seems imminent and maybe something more. Wow, these two together is magic! Their banter, their connection is just perfect. Oh, and Naomi’s little dog, Leonardo will have to giggling too. A perfect mix of silly, sweet and all the feels! Have some tissues ready too as there is a few sad parts that truly tug at your heartstrings. A Top Read of 2025. Oh My Heart Is Full! Told in first person and dual POV.

Vi Keeland, where have you been all my life? I know I have read a few of your books here and there, but I have read 2 in the past 4 days and I'm gutted (in a good way). Indiscretion gave me all the feels and then some! And can we talk about the beautiful man on the cover of this book? OMG.
Naomi Heart is such an amazing character. She moves to New York to help her sister who is ill (and has two young kids) after a change in careers is forced on her. She travels to Michigan for a wedding of two close friends and ends up in the same cabin as Dawson Reed - who is wearing nothing but a towel! Hilarity ensues.....
Dawson is a lawyer in New York who lost his law partner and most of his office staff. He needs help and Naomi is the perfect person to help him - but Dawson is apprehensive, since he mixed business and pleasure with his last law partner and it didn't end well for him. Dawson is also dealing with some demons in his past - such a sad and heartbreaking side story.
Even though Dawson came across as an asshole, he wasn't. Farthest thing from it. He was a wonderful man who needed to get past his demons. I really loved his character and that a lot of this book was told from his perspective.
I will be reading a LOT more Vi Keeland in the next year - her books are amazing.
Even though I enjoy Vi Keeland's writing, I think it'll be another year before I try it again.
I thought that after this long I wouldn't read about a close friend or relative with cancer, or any other illness, and definitely not the dead ex/friend/past mistake again!
Every time I read a Vi Keeland book, I just know that I am going to be hit with all the feels and this book did just that.
💙Office romance 💙Lawyer x paralegal 💙Opposites attract 💙Grumpy x sunshine 💙Forced proximity
Dawson and Naomi’s story starts off with the most hilarious meet cute. Both are in town for the same wedding and unbeknownst to them double booked the same AirBnB. After meeting for the first time, one of them is left with a black eye and the other ends up with a cast.
But through it all, they end up working together and becoming the ultimate power duo in the workplace. That doesn’t stop the clear attraction and chemistry that they have together. Dawson has sworn off office romances and Naomi is in no place to start anything. So when their bubble implodes and they can’t hold in their pull to each other anymore, their spice is HOT HOT HOT!! I loved these two together and you can tell how they were absolutely made for each other.
Dawson and Naomi both have things to work through from their past, and while they don’t open up completely in the beginning, they are still and unwavering support for one another. I undoubtedly loved that about these two.
There are some amazing and not so amazing side characters. My favorite side relationship was Ryder and Dawson – he was the broody male influence that Ryder never knew he needed.
There were many tears shed throughout this book, especially the secret and the letter. Damn you Vi for always having these letters in your books that make me SOB!!!
“Your heartbeat is so loud.” I smiled. “Oh yeah? You want to know a secret?” “Always.” I ran my knuckles down her cheek. “I think it stopped beating for a long time and only started again because of you.”
Vi Keeland does it again! This was absolutely fantastic and honestly, heart warming. I went into this book thinking one thing, He’s her Boss and she’s his greatest temptation. I mean that tagline alone hooked me! But what we ended up getting, was so much more. What started off as poor Dawson getting punched in the face, to a beautiful love story that wasn’t just for our mains. It was the love of a best friend, a sister. This story took me completely by surprise!
Dawson and Naomi had never met before, and there they find themselves at a cabin, in the middle of the woods that They both rented accidentally for their best friend’s wedding. All Dawson wanted was a good night sleep and he found himself with a fist in his eye when Naomi was startled, thinking somebody had broke in. Talk about a meet cute! These two had a fantastic connection from the start. One of the things I love about Vi’s stories is the angst and the build up. And boy did these two have that from the start!
I teared up so many times for so many reasons. From laughing at Dawson taking his turtle out for a walk to get some sun 😂 to their banter, to the intimacy, to the end when you didn’t know what was about to go down and all you want to do is flip the pages to find out! I adore Vi’s books for so many reasons, but specifically for the feelings she pulled from me in this one. Indiscretion will be out January 13th and it’s a Must Read! P.S. I absolutely went and bought coconut after reading this book haha!
Indiscretion is another great book by Vi Keeland. Dawson meets Naomi in an awkward situation resulting in a blackeye and broken knuckles. They are both attending the wedding of Dawson’s best friend Ben. An attraction starts between the two of them. Naomi has been disbarred and is now seeking employment in New York City to be near her sister who is seriously ill. Against his better judgement, Dawson hires Naomi as his paralegal. They both begin a relationship in which they become involved in each other’s lives, but Dawson keeps his past from Naomi. Dawson shows us that his sacrifice for Naomi reveals his unconditional love. But can Dawson trust Naomi with his past especially his relationship with his best friend Bailey? We see both support each other through their ordeals and become hopelessly in love. This book has left me with such good feelings about what it means to really love someone. Thank you be Keeland.
you know I love a good Vi Keeland romance and this one did not disappoint! We got friends of friends, who first meet on the wrong foot (booked the same cabin and she actually gave him a black eye), who work in the same field (law), and who have amazing and undeniable chemistry. I loved Dawson and Naomi together, and no one writes banter quite like Vi Keeland. I really enjoyed this one and the only thing I wanted more from it was that the ending wasn't so quickly resolved in a few chapters and I totally need some bonus chapters of Frannie's love story ;)
“Your heartbeat is so loud.” “Oh yeah? You want to know a secret?” “Always.” “I think it stopped beating for a long time and only started again because of you.” *swoons*
Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. This is what Vi's books do to me, and then I go and fall in love with another book boyfriend. Because Dawson Reed did just that... I fell in love with him from the very first page.
J loved the first chapter of Dawson going into the cabin that he rented for his best friend’s wedding and ends up getting a black eye from Naomi, whose best friends with the bride. She has also rented the cabin, and she ends up having to have a cast put on because she broke her knuckles punching Dawson. Haha, oops.
Dawson is everything and so much more. He's got a sexy mouth and knows how to use it, and Naomi had stuff happen, but that didn't get her down.
The story had banter, sexual tension, flirty parts, heartfelt, spice, it made me laugh, gave me hand on the heart moments, and made me cry sad and happy tears.
