Moody Kindle Edition
The day I showed up to Dax Moody’s sprawling home, I had no idea what was coming.
As a traveling massage therapist, I was used to entering the houses of strangers.
But this assignment was different from any before it.
From the outside, I’d correctly assumed the owner was rich. What I didn’t realize was that he would be younger than I’d imagined, single, stunningly gorgeous, and mysterious.
Despite the fact that Dax had booked a massage, it never actually happened, since our first appointment was unexpectedly cut short by a comedy of errors.
Certain I’d never see him again after that day, I’d done nothing but think about the captivating man.
To my surprise, he called a second time. That appointment, we talked a lot, developing a stronger connection. But once again, there was no actual massage.
The man I now affectionately called “Moody” kept calling me to come back.
It took three times before I finally gave him the massage he’d ordered. Let’s just say it was challenging to keep things professional. I was extremely attracted to Dax, and by that time, I was falling hard.
Eventually, I’d find out why he’d been so aloof, the reason why he and I could never be together.
Our story was supposed to end there, but it didn’t.
Instead, I was left perpetually longing for a forbidden man.

- Reviewed in Australia on 22 August 2022Verified PurchaseThis story consumed my thoughts, feelings and expectations. Emotionally charged with a depth that made you fall blissfully for these flawed and unique characters. I was unable to put down this book. I absorbed every emotion. Felt every moment with them. Every sentence had thought invoking meaning. It had elements of surprise and moments of immeasurable love and a sense of belonging. A story filled with complexity, charisma and happiness. 5 heartfelt stars.

- Reviewed in Australia on 22 August 2022I am a huge fan of Penelope Ward, so even without reading the blurb to this book I knew that I wanted to read it.
Right from the start there is a wonderful connection between Dax & Wren. Dax held himself back but you could just tell he was totally smitten with Wren. Every time it looked like they were going to cross that line Dax always put a halt to it. This pushed the angst right through the roof and it was so enjoyable to read.
It does eventually get revealed why he holds himself back, and honest I wouldn’t have guessed that twist coming in a gazillion years. It does and doesn’t make sense at the same time.
Their story spans a few years, so to me it really made the story all that more realistic, and that epilogue finished the whole story off beautifully.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

AUDIO REVIEW
This was an interesting enough story but I didn't really connect with our main characters. The one character I did like the most was Rafe. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong this book, but I don't listen to a huge amount of audio, and I just didn't connect with these characters the way I have in some other audio books by these narrators and this author. Mysteries and realities and personal growth, its all in there. And the ending was really nice. But this one was just an ok one for me.

Such a beautiful story with the main characters Dax Moody and Wren having Instant attraction.
Every character is brilliant, this whole story is a brilliant plus!
Their relationship if you could call it that was very complicated, the tension between them was electric, and they are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame.
Wonderfully written and with such a fabulous storyline, this was a perfect read, I am in awe of how Penelope Ward draws the reader completely into the story.
- Reviewed in Australia on 21 August 2022Penelope Ward has out done herself with this book.
This story is written with so much emotion. From the very beginning you will be touched by Wren, Dax and Rafe’s story.
This book in a away is a slow burn but it has the chemistry, journey, drama and love with have come to love by this author.
- Reviewed in Australia on 22 August 2022Love love love!! There were times were I had no idea where it was going and it was perfect! Dax and Wren are fantastic and their story was unpredictable and amazing and I loved it! Did I mention I loved it??
- Reviewed in Australia on 28 September 2022Verified PurchaseAs a seasoned reader of all things romance, I had high hopes for this book. Once I started reading though I just couldn’t ‘get into in.’ There was no chemistry between the two love birds and the main man revealed some things about his marriage that left me despising him. Spoiler - he did not and does not care for his adopted son and only wants the new girl to take the son off his hands. All of the interactions between the two are just them sitting around having long, drawn out, melodramatic conversations in his kitchen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Es war gute Unterhaltung
Verified PurchaseEs war gut geschrieben, spannend erzählt und hat Spaß gemacht. Es war nichts Besonderes und der Verlauf absehbar. Es war aber gute Unterhaltung und ein netter Zeitvertreib.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moody and magnificent! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Verified PurchaseA slow burn romance that doesn't just sizzle - it combusts! Absolutely loved this. Full of wit, angst, soulmate attraction and self denial (well almost!?) this cracking book is a must read if you enjoy the 'feel good' experience (and that must mean you eh?). Happy Reading!💥😍💗

4.0 out of 5 stars Another hit
Verified PurchaseI loved it but it had too much heartbreak/ angst and not enough together time for my liking.
I understand life is like that sometimes but I'm here to read a romance and I just didn't get to see them enough in that "space" because they were more apart, pining, than being in a relationship (epilogue doesn't count because it's a compressed timeline where you read not experience the years). Hence the 4 stars
Overall, great read
