Mayhem.

That’s what my life has turned into.

One second I was the trailer trash beneath their feet. The next, I’m forced into their care for “my own protection.”

Too bad for them, I’m nobody’s charity case.

Still, there’s an undeniable attraction to him. A magnetic force making it hard to think straight.

When push comes to shove, I won’t let anyone else pay the consequences for my actions. I’ll face them head on.

They say only the strong survive.

If there is one thing I know about, it’s surviving.

I really, REALLY liked this one. Had my attention from the first page until the very last one.
Slow burn, enemies to lovers = the best thing!
Throw in secrets, mystery and steam... and I'm one happy lady.

Willow was strong, fierce and didn't back down from anything. She didn't have the best home life, but she made do with what she had. She made a way for herself and depended on no one else.
Chase Rockford, oh Chase! Where have you been all my life... umm, I mean Willow's life.
He is sweet, dirty and scary. Bows to no one. Calls the shots and allows the pieces to fall where they may. When he loves, he loves hard and protects with his life.

One situation and they are thrust into each other's lives. One totally on board and one trying to put a stop to it every step of the way. Won't give in, won't surrender... how long will that last?
The meanest ones always fall the hardest. The broken girl will always need a savior, knowingly or not.

Nate was awesome too! I sure hope he gets a book. Also Hailee!! She was just the right person to show Willow she is important and to not give up.
Give this one a go!

Willow has never known what being part of a real family feels like, her mom is neglectful and has a nasty drug habit, and her father has never been in the picture. More times than not she spends her nights outside under the stars because her mom has "company" and she wants no part of that. There are no home cooked meals, fresh laundry, or a clean bed to sleep in... her mom is not the homemaker kind of gal. So she learned a long time ago that the only person she can depend on is herself.

So, when Chase Rockford wanders into her life and demands she trust him to keep her safe she has her doubts, and tries her best to push him away. But when you catch the attention of a dirtball with a score to settle, and your untrustworthy mother is no help to you, you're going to need some help from someone. Chase promises to keep her safe, all she has to do is move in with him and his brother, and let them take care of the dirtball. But when you are use to doing for yourself and handling your own battles, turning over your safety to another person is a little easier said than done!

Mayhem is the first title in the Trailer Park Girls duet and it makes quite the first impression! It centers around a strong-willed young lady who has captured the attention of a man that means to do her harm, and the two brothers that are determined to keep her safe. She isn't so receptive to their help, as she is use to being on her own and never having anyone to have her back, but these guys work double time to show her that she doesn't have to do it all alone. I loved watching Willow grow throughout this story, and learn to love and respect herself, and learn that sometimes it is okay to admit that you need help. If anything it made her appear stronger in my eyes. I also loved watching the relationship build between her and Chase, they had wonderful chemistry, and such a deep connection. She also found a true friend in Hailee, it was fun to watch the two of them go from being loners to inseparable confidants... their antics brought many smiles. This was quite the read, the words were hard to pry my eyes from and the characters snuck their way into my heart upon first meeting... I can't wait to reunite with them in book two!! Highly recommend this one, it's words will grab ahold your heart and not let go!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Blah.

I finished it and it wasn't the worst thing I've read but it was all telling and no showing.

We're told he's a gang lord
We're told she's tough

Instead of a gritty story about a tough girl falling for a hard gang boss, we get a book full of immature characters and shoddy writing.

I don't know where to begin with this book. It was amazing, outstanding, dark, gritty, emotional, sweet, stunning, engrossing. This might be my favorite Cala Riley book, but I say that after reading every new release by them. It amazes me that the are two authors because when you are reading, it flows, you can't tell when author is writing what chapter, noting is choppy or anything like that. Ugh this book was sooooo good!!

Willow lives a rough life. She lives in a trailer park with her mom, and her mom is not the best. Willow usually spends her nights sleeping in the woods to get away from her mom and her johns. She has to deal with shitty people at school, and just wants to get through each day. One night while out in the woods she decides to step in and warn her neighbors about someone coming after them and that is when her life changes.

Chase...sexy, bossy Chase. Chase has admired Willow from a far for years. She is the first person he has cared about. He is a crime lord and doesn't do relationships or romance but Willow is different. When she is in danger, he will stop at nothing to protect her.

This story will make you feel everything. The way Willow changes throughout this book is magical. She goes from not loving herself to thinking she is unlovable to finding her tribe and realizing she is worthy. Trigger warning...her life is rough, be prepared to want to hug her throughout this whole book and be prepared to shed some tears. Also, she is a badass! She takes no crap from anyone, Chase included, she is a strong woman! Chase seems like a "bad guy" but all he cares about is Willow, he even wants until she is 18 to do anything. And when his girls life is threaten, nothing will stop that man.

This book ends on a somewhat cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next one to come out!

"Every king needs a queen, and you are most definitely queen material, babe".

Cala and Riley's storylines just keep getting better and better. With each book they write, the more I get excited for the next and to what is to come. Mayhem is everything the name suggests, there is turmoil, trouble, destruction and what I loved about this book is the simmering hot chemistry between Willow and Chase. One that Chase won't do anything about until Willow reaches 18 in a couple of months. But hell, what a lot happens in those couple of months.

I loved their Brighton Academy series and although Mayem has the same feel about it, this story feels edgier, the darkness a little darker, and the couple's turmoil and tragic pasts with slightly more meat on the bone.
"I'd prefer not to buy into the fairy tales.".

Willow sees herself as trailer trash maybe because of the reputation that her mom and the kids at school make her feel. But Willow has her escape in a tree on the Rockfords land, it is her own little piece of heaven away from the world. But when Willow does a good deed it brings her face to face with 19 year Chase Rockford, who has had to grow up before his time. From an early age, he has had to take care of his slightly younger brother Nate and do what was necessary to keep them together. Now Williow is in danger and Chase has to come out of the shadows. Secrets are about to be revealed that none of us saw coming, and the more Chase tries to keep Willow safe, the more she rebels, nobody has ever had Willows back so why would they now.

I adore Willow and her new friend Hailee, two strong girls that have had to grow up fast through no fault of their own. Next up is Hailee and Nate's story as the danger and suspense go up to another level. Can't wait for this next couple.

Chase Rockford is my favorite Cala Riley hero!!! (I'm sorry Reed and everyone else. I still love you too). From the very first time we meet him in Undeniably there wasn't something about him. This random side character needed a story. While Mayhem is not dark it's darker than any of the books we've read from the duo.

Willow is fierce, independent and takes nothing from no one. Her life has been nothing but easy and this has made her guarded. She trust no one. It's one of the reasons the bond between her and Chase and Nate is so much fun to watch develop. It happens before she even realizes it happens. The Rockford brothers work their overbearing, asshole, charming selves into her heart.

𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑠𝑒. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑖𝑛 ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑒𝑦𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑅𝑜𝑐𝑘𝑦. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑜'𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑠.

Chase "Rocky" Rockford is sweet, and kind and scary as f***. He's successful in what he does which means he's not someone you want to f*** with. He also has a sweet spot in his heart for Willow. I always love watching the asshole fall for the girl but with Chase it's a little different. I mean I loved watched him with Willow but his love for, well just read it. It's perfect.

From start to finish Mayhem had me hooked. I could not get enough of Chase and Willow. Cala Riley delivered this amazing story wrapped in the perfect little bow. Mayhem has it all, suspense, violence, friendship, laugh out loud moments, and love. Their writing is just perfect. They deliver this amazing story while setting up book two perfectly.

And once again I'm here talking about how a mother needs to die. I almost feel like my mother should be worried based on how many times I say "please kill the mother."

Mayhem is a must read for everyone and the perfect example as to why Cala Riley is a one-click author for me.

Mayhem is a suspenseful NA romance novel, with a darker tone that will keep you glued to the pages. I love Cala Riley's writing style, it's easy to follow, entertaining and emotional and this story was beautifully presented.

Willow is a fierce heroine. Growing up in a trailer park with a mother that doesn't care for her, and having to fend for herself all the time, made her tough as nails. She's intelligent, sassy, and doesn't take bullshit from anyone. She's a loner, mostly keeping to herself and focusing on graduating from high school and leaving town. Seems simple enough until she finds herself stalked by a psycho. Her life turns into mayhem and Willow has no other choice but to accept Chase's help. The scary, broody, and dangerously sexy crime lord makes her blood boil both in anger and lust. But he is the only one capable of keeping her safe.

The chemistry between Willow and Chase is sizzling. There's a constant battle of wills between them, and I enjoyed their witty conversations a lot. He puts up a cold and detached demeanor, but when he shows glimpses of his softer side, Willow can't help falling for him. Also, the secondary characters are very entertaining. I love Nate and Hailey. Their presence throughout the story makes things much more interesting. This kind of story grips your heart, with complex and relatable characters, twists, and mystery to keep you on your toes. Can't wait for book two!

Amount of sex 2.5 / 5
How explicit are the sex scenes 2.5 / 5
Story 4 / 5
Overall: 4 / 5

Mayhem is the first book in the Trailer Park Girls Duet by author Cala Riley. This angsty enemies-to-lovers romance tells the story of Willow, who’s almost eighteen years old and lives in a trailer park with her mother. She doesn’t trust easily and has become independent due to issues with her mother.

When things become difficult, Willow tends to go into the woods behind the trailer park to getaway. Chase and his brother Nate live in a large house on the other side of the woods, and they have been secretly watching her. They soon find her in a scary situation, and they quickly go to help. However, Willow’s not the kind of girl to accept help easily or follow orders from Chase. Willow’s the type of girl that’s full of grit and questions everything. It usually leads to a lot of bickering and high sexual tension.

Mayhem was an extremely entertaining read, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

One of the best quotes is from Willow’s best friend, Hailee, describing Willow, and I think it sums it up nicely.

“You’re brave. Or Stupid. I’m not sure which one, but it’s going to be entertaining as hell to find out.”

Uhmmm, okay Cala & Riley I see y’all!!!

This was my first time reading a book by these authors and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This story is on the darker side, as it touches on self-harm, addiction, and assault. Keep that in mind before reading.

The characters were superb!! Especially, Willow. I loved her attitude and demeanor. When I tell you guys that she is a strong heroine, that’s an understatement!! She was a force to be reckoned with. Then, there’s Chase. Lord have mercy!! Chase’s character was loaded with everything that makes a great hero. Strong, sweet but possessive, and a dirty mouth!! He’s going to be everyone’s new book boyfriend SOON!

Two other characters that were a huge part were Nate & Hailee, which I felt were super developed supporting characters. I can’t wait for their book. I just know it’s going to be epic!

The story line was fabulous as well. It held my attention and had me one the edge of my seat. The plot twist was on point, as well! I was shocked to say the least. Thank you for allowing to read and review this ARC!! Good luck on release day! 🖤

“One decision made that irrevocably alters your path in life. I never believed in those moments until it happened to me.”
A very intriguing young adult romance that had me hooked from the start. Fighting for survival has made Willow street smart, head strong, and very independent. She’s learned quickly and early in life that the only one she can trust is herself. Yet despite that hard exterior, underneath is a heart of gold looking for love, for family, for a place to belong.
Everything she’s known comes screeching to a halt when she makes one decision. One 10 second decision made with all the good intentions in the world that alters the course of her life. Everything she thought she knew changes. Things she’s secretly desired just might be within her reach. Will she be brave enough to reach for it or will it too be taken from her?
Interesting quick easy read that I enjoyed. Looking forward to part two.

Be still my heart, I’ve found a new dark king to love! Hello Chase!!! Not only is he a complete badass with an empire but also has the kindest heart & strong morals. Seriously the badass danger vibe he has lures you in & the kind heart steals your own heart. I loved him. I am so excited for book two in this duet. These Rockford men are too sexy to resist!

Also love this badass female that is Willow. She survived so so much & she still came out stronger than ever. I love her sass & fierceness! She is the perfect queen to the king that is Chase. I cannot handle the chemistry between these two, it is red hot!!

Such an amazing read & I can’t wait to dive back into this world when book two comes out! This book is one of my favourites of Cala & Riley. You don’t want to miss out on this read!

Gritty, emotional, sweet

Willows's story is about finding that self-worth and determination to fight for survival/what you feel is right. I loved how Cala Riley expressed Willow's thoughts and feelings towards things that people definitely go through in life, no matter their situation.

I definitely felt like I got some serious Brayshaw vibes with the dynamic between Willow, Chase, and Nate, which was so great. Lots of secrets, mystery, and steam in this one. Gotta say, there's just something about those alpha males. Absolutely loved how fiercely they ended up looking out for each other & can't wait for the next one.... 👀 Nate and Hailee??

I liked this one a lot!
I loved Chase, he is amazing *-*
I was annoyed a few times because of her, sometimes she did some stuffs that i disliked but not to the point of hating her. I liked that she was like this, and also, i liked that when she did stuffs i hated she was put back in her place xD by him or Nate.
Can't wait to read Nate's book, i hope it will be as good as this one.
HFN
I needed a few more chapters with them tho, but i know, the epilogue etc, will be in the second book.

What a great start to this awesome duet. Willow is amazing and she's fierce. She is also a loner and stays to herself... but when she thinks Noah and Chase are in trouble she puts herself in danger. Chase and Willow have a chemistry I was not expecting and he won't move on it til she's 18! But once she turns 18 it heats up big time! I can't wait for book 2.

Willow and Chase come together in this enemies to lovers romance and it was amazing. He has watched her from afar and wants to protect her and keep her safe. Her life has never been easy and her story will bring you to tears, but their story together is worth every one. I truly appreciated Willow's strength and fierceness, she was one of the strongest people I've read about.

Sass or stupidity???

The amount of TSTL in this book is frightening, if I hadn't read another book by C Riley I would have given up on this one at 10% After reading this I wish I had. At points it reads like the heroine is a teen at others she reads older, a 17 year old can't possibly be this jaded. The only thing that stuck with me in this book is the stupidity.

Good read

I think Nate deserved the best male character trophy up until maybe the last 10%. We hear about Chase pulling some hero duty but I feel like I didn't fully accept it until I read his POV towards the end.

Buuuut! I loved the relationship building that ran all the way through the book. All the different connections-Willow and Nate, Willow and Hailee and Willow and Chase.

I felt a little confused about the conflict with the stalker/bad guys up until the end as well...though, that could just be good storytelling at work. It just seemed like the bad guys popped in once in a while to remind us they're the reason for Chase and Willow being together. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Also...can we take a moment to gag at the creepy teacher bits?

Any-hoot, I'm curious to see how the original conflict will be resolved now that the POV delivery seems to be shifting to Hailee in the next book.

I really enjoyed this ! Although the fml was quite frustrating ( I can see how chase felt) . She was stubborn and smart mouthed and didn't want to be told what to do even if it was to keep her safe.

& I had a feeling a lot of it fell on her mom. How could she have changed up like that ?

It was a great quick read . I can't wait to see what the other is about .

Mafia/ forced proximity/ virgin FMC

Trigger warning: drugs/ violence/ abuse/ cutting/ prostitution

This was just ok. The MMC was 2 years older so a big aspect of this story was him counting down until the FMC turned 18. I get that they’ve somewhat grown up together but the constant reminder that her 18th birthday was coming up felt icky.

When your life is worth nothing in your eyes and your mothers why do they, the ones you want nothing to do with protecting you?

In this enemies to lovers story, Emma is running for her life after someone threatens and tries to hurt her. Her life is a complete mess. She mother doesn't care about her and only does tricks in their trailer home, at times even offering her up to her johns, but luckily Emma gets away. She has no friends and the kids at school pick on her. One day Hailey befriends her and she finally thinks that maybe she has something worthwhile. She is not one to back down though. Emma is feisty, strong-willed and a force to reckoned with. Her sanctuary is a treehouse away from the trailer park. Well, she thought it was until someone came after her. Now she is being taken care of by two people that she thinks she is worthless. What will she find out while in their protection? Will her view of them change?

Nate & Chase find Emma fighting against a stranger on their property. Emma did not know that her treehouse was on their land. The rumour is that Chase, the older brother, is involved in illegal dealings and Nate is just the school playboy. They both force Emma to stay with them because of the stranger following her. As time goes by Chase seems to be more protective of Emma than normal. Could he possibly have feelings for her? Will he let her in and show her what his life is like? Can he get her to lower her walls and let him in? Can he save her from her secret?

Cala has your head spinning with all the twists and turns throughout this book. This book is emotional, gut-wrenching, full of turmoil and dark but sweet at the same time. She grabs your attention right at the beginning and you are unable to put the book down.

I really wanted to like this book but because of Williow I couldn't.. I'm all for a strong independent sassy female but she was just stubborn most of the time for no reason which is why I didn't feel any type of way with what happened to her towards the end of the book... I liked Nate and Chase it was like they were emotional gangsters

I don't know where to begin with this book. It was amazing, dark, gritty, emotional, hot, captivating. Mayhem lives up to its name... theres trouble, suspense, destruction. And there is a simmering hot chemistry between our lead characters! Bravo Cala Riley, for writing a story that hooked & kept me engaged from page 1...

𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤/𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙚 = Chase & Willow
𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 = Not really.
𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 = Yes. (book 1 of the series)
𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚(𝙨) = Slow Burn, enemies to lovers, "mafia"/bad boys, opposites attract

Willow hasnt had the best life growing up... living in a trailer park with a mom who cares more on turning tricks and how she's getting her next high. Because of this... More times than not... she spends her nights outside under the stars. She and has learned a long time ago she can only depend on herself.

When Willow happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, Chase & his brother must step in to protect her. Chase has admired Willow from a far for years... something abbout this strong willed, firece girl captivates him. With her being in danger, he will do what he can to keep her safe. Knowing that Chase also is someone who is very dangerous, can Willow trust him?

I loved watching Willow grow throughout this story, and learn to love and respect herself, and learn that sometimes it is okay to admit that you need help.

And I have to say... the chemistry between Chase & Willow.. sizzling! 🔥🔥

This is the 1st part of a duet and what an amazing beginning this story is. Willow had had a tough life rowing up in a trailer park with her mom, who is not the best mother in the world. Willow is fierce, strong, and independent, and feels that she is unworthy of being loved. Chase has had his eye on Willow for years, and when he finds out that she is in danger he will do whatever he must to protect her at any cost. I love the bond between Willow, Chase, and Nate, and how her feeling about herself changes without her even realizing it. Willow is more that a match for Chase, and they compliment each other perfectly. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and with mystery, danger, secrets, mystery, emotions, and love, which all leads to a riveting and all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading the 2nd part of this amazing duet, and I highly recommend this talented duo’s work.
