Baking With A Rockstar: A Single Parent Romance (Mitchell Brothers Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 685 ratings

Hudson and I couldn’t be more opposite. He’s a rockstar, and I’m a single mom.

He’s home for a break from the spotlight, or so he says. I’m here for a fresh start and to heal the pieces of my shattered past.

This small town is exactly what my little girl and I need.

Becoming roommates with Hudson was a total accident—I think—and now he’s trying to charm me with his sugar-sweet smile, just like he does with his adoring fans.

When he wants to help me with my bakery renovations, I can’t help but wonder if his interest is genuine, or if there’s more to it. The offer he makes me sounds a bit odd, but who could refuse those sweet buns?

A Rockstar, A Baker and a cute baby could this be anymore perfect
Hudson Mitchell needs a break from his high profile, hectic and fast paced life as a Rockstar. He decides to come back home to Brooksville, California to get away and focus on writting some new music while also spending time with his family. What he is not expecting is getting to spend some quality time with a pretty girl and her adorable baby. After her grandmother passes away and she hits a low point in her life single mom Charlie and her baby girl Mira move to Brooksville a quiet and peaceful small town to stay with Hannah who was her grandmother's best friend. There she is getting ready to open up her very own Bakery a dream she has been chasing for sometime. Oh. My. God. I don't think I have ever swooned this much while reading a book. This was so incredibly sweet, adorable, heart warming and extremely beautiful. Such a delicious and satisfying slow burn story. Charlie was adordably awkward at times, cute, funny, responsible, level headed, career focused and she is a fantastic mother to baby Mira who was equally as adorable as Charlie. She was left vulnerable and heart broken after losing a loved one as well as the end of a long term relationship.  Hudson was so kind, selfless, respectable, considerate, gentle, protective and just incredibly dreamy. He had insecurities was also vulnerable having been burned in a previous relationship. There is so much I loved about this story with some of the main things being: Communication the way these two communicated with each other was everything. This was such a great portrayal of what a healthy relationship should be like. They were both so mature and respectable of each other and their insecurtites from their past relationships. Family and Friend relationships I loved all the aspects involving Hudsons family and all their interactions as well as Charlie's relationship with her best friend Monica was such a strong and healthy portrayal of what a female friendship should be like Realistic and Slow Progression with both the main characters coming out of toxic and horrible relationships the way their realtionship with each other progressed felt so natural and realistic. There wasnt a lot of drama standing in their way but the few hurdles they had to face was done in such a natural and mature way. It was a true joy to watch these two let their guards down and fall in love. I have fallen head over heels for this book and can't wait to read more from Jasmin

Totally fell in love with all the characters in this book. Hudson is a very down to earth kinda guy which made it easy to see him as just a guy rather than a rockstar. Charlie is a warrior. Given everything she endured in her life, she could've easily followed in her mother & sister's footsteps, but she forged a better path. And Hannah is the kind of grandmother we'd love and aspire to be. I did think the issue with the ex blew over way easier than would normally happen in real life, but it's a minor point.

I did enjoy this story but found it dragged in a few places. The chemistry between Charlie and Hudson was great. I'd definitely read something by this author again.

If I had to sum up this incredibly good debut novel from Jasmin Miller in one word, it would be sweet. This delightful romance is about Charlie, a single mother who moves from one side of the country to the other after suffering some terrible losses. Hannah, her grandmother's best friend, persuades Charlie to move to California with her baby daughter, Mirabelle, and open the bakery she's always dreamed about.

The one thing Hannah didn't mention is that a couple of her grandchildren are famous. One of them, Hudson, is a member of a famous rock band, and when he unexpectedly shows up back home, Charlie doesn't recognise him. Hudson finds Charlie's lack of recognition - and Charlie herself - refreshing. He's tired of the spotlight, thanks to his scheming ex, and just wants a normal relationship away from it. So when he first meets Charlie, his love of music and songwriting is once again sparked and she becomes his muse.

When Charlie gets to know Hudson better, she's attracted to him in every way, and seeing how good he is with Mira just makes him hotter. But Charlie is hiding a lot of pain and a few secrets, and she's scared that once Hudson finds out about them, he'll walk away. Will she be willing to take a chance on love again?

While this book did have sex scenes, they were not graphic and there is no swearing, which made it a light, enchanting read. It almost seems hard to believe this is a debut novel; I'm very much looking forward to seeing what this author gives us next!

You better have your dentist on speed dial before you read Baking With A Rockstar, as this book is so sweet it is going to give you a toothache.

It has two of my favourite things - rockstars and cakes! Mmmmm cake.

Charlie and Hudson's story is just the cutest read - though it is a bit insta, but also a bit slow burn if that makes sense? I mean a few days after meeting they are kinda all lovey dovey, but then nothing really happens between them for a long time.

Even though he is only 25, and I am an old fart, I found it hard not to swoon over Hudson at times. He is an old soul in a young body.

Charlie has her own issues as a single mum, and I dare you not to have your heart melted by Mira - you could see why she had everyone wrapped around her tiny baby fingers!

However, I didn't really feel a true connection between our lovelies - they just seemed to exist in each other's worlds - but this could just be me.

I just wanted a bit more.

Sweet and cute, this is the perfect read if you want an easy, lovely read.

I will be reading more of the Brooksville series in the future.

I received an ARC copy of Baking with the Rockstar and for that I’m very great full.

This book was absolutely amazing! I loved that it was a sweet, fun loving, charming, easy read. I love the chemistry between the main characters and how they have to overcome some hurdles before and during their relationship to get them where they want to be. My biggest weakness with this book, is the connection that Hudson has with baby Mira, it is absolutely beautiful and makes my heart tingle. The quirky lines in this book are amazing, they make me laugh so hard my fiancé was giving me funny looks. Baking with the Rockstar is a super sweet story about finding the love of your life and also finding the family she never knew she needed. One thing I’m hoping for now that I’m done with this book, is that we will be getting Mo & Gabe’s story soon as well.

Jasmin Miller is a new author to me and what an amazing funny and heart wrenching story. Charlotte and her daughter Mira move to California to start a new life, she’s always wanted to open a bakery. Charlotte was supposed to stay with her grandmothers friend Hannah but her kitchen is being renovated so they go to stay at one of Hannah’s friends place while they are away. Charlotte didn’t recognise Hudson as a famous rockstar she was too busy looking at his muscles but Hannah tells Charlotte that Hudson is her grandson. I loved this story especially the lol moments it’s such a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

    I really liked this book.
The story is quite nice, but I think both characters deserved more depth in developing their personality. Especially Hudson is missing his backstory with his career and life before he met Charlie.

I just loved it. I loved the way Hudson is, and how he adores Mira even though she's not his, and all the things he does for Charlie.

I was shocked when I discovered the secret about Mira, and makes you admire Charlie.

Also, I loved the bonus scenes. You MUST read it, it's incredible.

Baking With A Rockstar is my first introduction to the author, Jasmin Miller. She did not disappoint!

Charlotte's (Charlie) life was pretty much turned upside down a year ago in New York. Charlie and her baby, Mirabelle (Mira) moved to Brooksville, California where her grandmother had lived, looking to have fresh start. Charlie had always dreamed of having her own bakery. Hannah's (Charlie's grandmother's friend) kitchen is undergoing some renovations so Hannah, Charlie and Mira end up staying at the home of a friend of hers, who happens to be out of town. When that friend unexpectedly returns, Charlie is faced with the hottest man she has ever seen. She doesn’t recognize him, maybe because she is so busy staring at his shirtless abs and throwing dough at him! Just thinking about it gives me a case of the giggles. When Hannah finally introduces them, he is really her grandson who is also a very famous rock star! Hudson has also had a rough year but they get their HEA. There are laugh out loud moments. Moments that are heart wrenching as well. I loved Hudson and his lively and crazy family. Baby Mira is just the sweetest. This story has highs and lows and it pulled at my heart strings. A must read!
