You know that pact you make with your childhood best friend of the opposite sex? The one where, if you’re both still single, lonely and hopeless at thirty, you’ll marry each other? This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to make good on that pinky promise. Personally, I think love, romance and all of that nonsense is a crock of, well, you know. And Reese Collins, the boy who used to put worms in my hair at backyard barbecues, knows that better than anyone. But when he moves to the same city I’ve happily, and singly, inhabited for years, memories of oaths past resurface. Reese is like a dog with a bone; a really hot dog and that bone just happens to be me. He won’t stop hounding me, and the crazy thing is, my frigid, traitorous heart is starting to cave. For my best friend. It seems so far off, when you’re a kid playing Monopoly in your treehouse. But when that clock strikes midnight on your thirtieth birthday, and you’re standing alone in front of a grocery store-bought cupcake, a childhood deal to walk down the aisle doesn’t seem so silly anymore.

I really enjoyed this book.

I am always up for a friends to lovers book and this one was a good one. I really liked the “marriage pact” that Reese and Erin made when they were kids. Who didn’t think of doing that with their best childhood friend? At least I did! So I found that aspect of the story very sweet and relatable.

I have to say that even though I liked this story I think it lacked a little more pasion. What I mean by this is that I know that Reece and Erin love each other but I didn’t always feel it. I truly believe they are soul mates but I just wish there was a little extra umph to their relationship.

Overall this was a sweet, witty, funny, friends to lovers romance that I enjoyed.

Agradablemente sorprendida.

4 Sometimes the Happy Ending is In Front of You Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
This tale had so much going for it. Yes, Friends to Lovers with all of the concerns about "what if" and how the friendship could go south. But what I really appreciated was all the undercurrent of why two people who made a pact when they were 15 to marry at 30 if they hadn't found another. That was the gem of this story... because it reflected on how parents' actions can color everything for a child going forward.

Erin met Reese years before 15. They bonded right away and they were ying to the other's yang. Both loved each others company and as they entered their teenage years, Reese newly discovered Erin... saw her and had to deal with raging hormones and body parts. Reese kinda fell hard for Erin but kept things as friends because he didn't want to scare her away.

Over the years Reese has been Erin's bestie and each has held each other up during all the down times, during all the break ups... through everything. Now they both are turning 30 and The Pact is playing in both of their minds.

For Reese, he wants to see how serious this could be...He has dreamt of Erin for years and she has been the woman he has thought of as The One... never the women he had dated. Erin is over love... she saw her mother fall apart when her father divorced her. She had thought their marriage had been perfect... and when perfect falls apart, then hell... No love for her -it is all bogus.

We get to go on the journey of these two figuring out how truly perfect they are for each other...everyone in their friends and families knew it all along and they just need to catch up. It was delicious to see Reese and Erin finally get with the program. Lots of swoony times.

The marriage Pact

I liked this. But I didn't love it. I felt it was a slow start. I would of liked the two characters to get together sooner. I didn't like Erin. I thought she was stuffy and cold. I wanted to tell her to get over it too many times. I loved Reese and I think he's too good for her. But as soon as Erin made up her mind she wasn't so bad. It just took too long in my mind.

If we're still single at thirty can we promise we will marry each other? That's the promise that Reese and Erin make to each other at fifteen, unaware of how quickly thirty would come. There's been significant others, careers, and moves, with the two remaining best friends through it all. The pact was seemingly forgotten, until the call comes that Reese is moving home and thirty is looming. Erin hasn't believe in love or marriage since her parent's divorce, but Reese, who has been harboring a secret crush for years, is determined to change her mind and get the girl he know he's meant to be with.

"My mind wanders to the pact, and if he's thought about it as our thirtieth birthdays neared."

Sweet friends to love romances are some of my favorite escapes, so of course Save the Date was right up my alley. Even better? Carrie Aarons is the author and she has the perfect sense of humor to take this romance into rom-com territory. Erin has just the right amount of sass, with a no-nonsense attitude and an unfortunately negative view of romance. She's smart, driven, and unable to give into any of dreams. That's where Reese comes in, because he's as handsome and sweet as they can come. A pediatric nurse with a love for babies and all things Erin, he's come to follow through on the marriage pact and make the girl he's always wanted his wife. Of course, it can't be easy and the dialogue between these two is fantastic. They work through drama, have the best friendship, and along the way it is revealed that the chemistry between them has always been there, it's undeniable that they're meant to be. Carrie Aarons tells a story that's realistic, yet lighthearted, the kind that anyone can escape into for a while.

Best friends to lovers romance? Count me in!

Marriage pact? Even more intriguing.

Romcom that will make me laugh? Yes please!

If any of these things interest you then keep on reading...

Carrie wrote two very unique characters in these two. Reese is a very confident guy who likes to always be in a relationship even when there's no love on his part. He likes the companionship and not living alone. Erin is a bit cynic. Ok, not a bit, she's a whole lot of cynic. Watching her sweet and loving parents who always seemed perfect get a divorce completely destroyed her belief on love. Especially since she was the one who took care of her mother when she was all but destroyed.

It's almost Reese and Erin's 30th birthdays and Reese comes back to their hometown, where Erin still lives, for a job interview but also for the pact they made when they were 15.

"That I had to have some kind of insurance policy, because I was in love with you. And do you remember what I did the next morning? We were sitting in your backyard, and I proposed the pact. Because I wanted to make sure, that after it all, after we grew and made mistakes and sowed our oats, that we would come together. Because I’m in love with you. I’ve been in love with you for a very long time. And it doesn’t have to be that romantic, sweep you off your feet, take a bullet for you love … although I’d do that. Love can be quiet and patient. It can wait for the other person to be ready, while also laughing and spending time with that person. That’s why I want to fulfill the pact, because I actually meant it when I proposed it at fifteen. You’re the only one I’ve ever wanted to marry. It’s probably why I could never get a relationship right, because I was just biding my time until you softened to the idea.”

With their birthdays fast approaching they both have the pact in mind, Reese because he wants to go through with it ad Erin because she's scared he does. When Reese is accepted for the job, he moves back home and tries to convince Erin to go through with the pact.

But with all her cynicism it isn't easy and even though she always had feelings for Reese just like he did for her, she doesn't believe they could really be together in a romantic capacity. She's scared he is only pursuing her because of the pact and because he doesn't want to be alone.
Yet when Reese tells her how he always felt she gives a romantic relationship with him a chance and oh do they make the perfect paring. Let's not even talk about the sex... they are both f«crazy for having waited so long to take this step in their relationship.

Carrie wrote a super sweet best friends to lovers romance, with a bit of angst and some steam; and well for a romcom it was much more sweet than it was funny but it did have some laugh out loud moments.
I genuinely adored this one, just as much as I love the cover. Reese and Erin were a true great paring and I adored their journey.

"But now, with the pact and our thirtieth birthdays looming over our heads, I want to know what it would be like."

Save the Date is Carrie Aarons' take on the marriage of convenience trope, delivering this romantic comedy in the form of a fifteen year marriage pact made between two bestfriends.

"There would be no lies or false bullshit. We’d shoot straight with each other. It would be fun, like having a sleepover with your best friend every night! And we’re both hot, the sex would be good."

Erin Carter is the Peas to Reese Collins' Carrots. An editorial director by day and a lifestyle blogger by the shadows of the night. She's impersonal and dispassionate, honest and blunt, but mostly cynical when it comes to love. But she's also strong and reserves her vulnerabilities for certain people, sassy when it counts, and independent to the core.

"From that day on, we was always together. Jenny and me was like peas and carrots." – Forrest Gump

Reese Collins, the Carrots in this bowl is a NICU nurse. Yes, not only is he tall with dark features, and a lone dimple, he's basically the guardian of tiny people and could charm the pants off anyone within a ten mile radius. He's also harboring some deep rooted feelings for little miss anti-love and has a bit of a co-dependency problem when it comes to dating...

Maybe. Or maybe, just maybe he was bidding his time and this 'marry me if we're still single at thirty' was all a ruse. A smoke and mirrors act that Reese has perfected in order to get the girl of his dreams, the Peas to his Carrots.

"You’re the only one I’ve ever wanted to marry. It’s probably why I could never get a relationship right."

Erin didn't make it easy for Reese though. She didn't roll over and fall deeply in love with him just because he started to pursue her. Carrie slowly unraveled Erin's character's skepticism about marriage and the entire time Reese didn't waver. He was persistent in cracking the fog covered glass of her disilliusionments about love and doubts about him.

"Love can be quiet and patient. It can wait for the other person to be ready."

Though a bit slow to dive into the plot fully which might pose issues for some, Save the Date was a sensuous, slow burning, yet brazen bestfriends to lovers romance that I didn't want to end and I don't want to forget! Save the Date is low on the angst and high on the giggles, delivers a quick resolution with a happily ever after, and my first, but not last novel by Carrie Aarons.

Not just witty, but quickwitted, sweet and romantic, Save the Date is simply entertaining and full of back and forth bantering, innuendos, awkwardly humorous encounters with just as many lighthearted priceless moments as there are moments to fall in love and heavily swoon over!

Save the Date is what I would call a perfect summer beach read. It is light, funny and all-around enjoyable.

Erin and Reese have been best friends since grade school. They are the yin and yang. Reese is outgoing and loves being around others and has this amazing outlook on love. Erin did until not too long when her parents' divorced, leaving her with a bitter taste in her mouth. To say that Erin is a cynic of falling in love, would be putting it mildly.

They made a pact when they were young that if neither were married by 30, they would marry one another. Well, that day is fast approaching and where one is quite excited about the prospect of marrying one's best friend, the other is throwing up every wall possibly. Until Reese is able to defrost Erin's cold exterior and show her what she's missing out on. And let's just say that she is kicking her own ass!!

Carrie did a great job of writing this sweet and loveable story from both POVs. I loved seeing how things panned out from both sides and that made the story all the more enjoyable and sweet. Erin's not too annoying with her cynical way of thinking and Reese isn't too over the top with his romantic actions - they even one another out.

If you are ever looking for a book that gives you those feel good vibes and that permanent smile while you read, this is the book you want. Carrie delivers another amazing contemporary romance.

description
This best friends to lovers contemporary romance is another good read by Carrie Aarons.

Erin Carter doesn't believe in love, and romance and happily ever afters. But when she was a teen she promised to marry her best friend Reese Collins if they weren't already married by the time they turned thirty. Now that that day is quickly approaching, Reese seems to be very interested in making good on that promise. But deeply rooted worries and misgivings are hard to over come. And making the transition from friends to more may not be in the cards for these two for the long haul.

I enjoyed the strong independent personality of leading lady Erin. She was a hard worker and knew exactly what she liked and didn't like. The reasons behind her anti-love feelings were understandable, even if I couldn't exactly relate. Reese on the other hand was a fantastic leading man. I loved pretty much everything about him. He's a hard worker at a truly admirable job. He is a loving and loyal son. And he was truly a good friend to not only Erin but his other good friend in the story. His less than stellar moments were nothing in comparison to the good guy I felt he came across as.

Overall, this was a good story and I will continue to be on the look out for books from this author.

I love reading Carrie Aarons. You never know what type of book you will be reading when you pick up one of her books. From emotional, to sexy to rom coms and I have enjoyed each and every one. In Save the Date we get a hilarious romantic comedy that will captivate readers.

I love the premise of this book. Erin Carter and Reese Collins have been friends for a long time. So long that when they were younger, they agreed they would marry each other if they were not married by thirty. That seemed so far away, right? Now Erin is getting ready to hit 30 and Reese is back.

Though they lived in different states for a while, they never lost touch. Now that Reese is back in the same city and making her questions all her set thoughts on romance and love. I loved their banter and how they came together again.

Save the Date was funny and sexy. Erin and Reese were great together and had great chemistry. Even though it started with an old promise, this story was a fun twist to the friends-to-lovers story and one I suggest reading!

Well, can I just say meh? If it was possible I would give 2,5 stars.

It could have been built better. There's no angst...there's no passion and suspense, it all falls to easily.
I found myself anxious to end it because there is nothing more to happen, it was predictable and kind of plot less. It started fine and just went downhill.
The chapters alternate between the main couple.
I don't know, it felt corny and underdeveloped...
The characters had nuances and stuff to make them real but, then the story didn't hold to them.
It's a very very light reading, a romance kind like a Hallmark movie...I felt so little pleasure reading at some point that skipped most of the last chapters.

This was my first book by Carrie Aarons and it definitely won’t be the last.

Best friends Erin and Reese made a pact years ago that if they were single by their 30th birthdays, they would get married. But after her parents divorce, Erin isn’t too sure if love and marriage is all it’s cracked up to be. Can Reese prove to her that he’s worth it and they can make a relationship & marriage work?

This was such a cute story. I loved Reese’s love for Erin and how well they knew each other as they were best friends. The relationship between Erin and her sister Morgan was also super sweet as well. I’m excited to read more from Carrie!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

You know that pack you make with your childhood best friend of the opposite sex? The one where if you are both single, lonely and hopeless, you will marry each other? This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to make good on that pinky promise. Personally, I think love, romance and all that nonsense is a crock of, well, you know. Save the Date is a friends to lovers romance and those are one of my favorite kinds of romances. Erin and Reese have been best friends since their childhood. They even survived going to different colleges and Reese moving to Dallas to take a job in the NICU. Reese is a male nurse and is dedicated to his job. He loves it just as much as he loves life and is passionate about it. He also though doesn't like to be alone and has this habit of jumping from one relationship to another. He also remembers the pact that he made with Erin a long time ago. Erin hates her job, is not a romantic hearts and flowers kind of girl and basically doesn't believe in love. Her parents sudden falling out of love and divorce have tainted her and almost ruined her mom. She works at a newspaper but one the side she has a lifestyle blog that she hope to one day be able to do full time and make a good living at. Now Reese is moving back and she is worried that he will really want to make the silly stupid pact they made as kids happen. She has no interest in getting married and sure isn't going to follow through. Reese has his work cut out for him as he has always been in love with Erin. He has just never known how to tell her. The time in now and Reese is not stopping until she is wearing his ring and in his bed. I really like the story but the one thing that kept this from being a five star read for me was Erin. Oh my gosh she got on my nerves. I get it. Your parents divorced, your mom is bitter, but you yourself have turned into this person that is almost unfeeling when it comes to love and it drove me absolutely mad. If I had been Reese I would have given up on her and moved on to someone who was actually capable of loving him the way he deserved. Do these two make it to the alter? Well, your going to have to read the book to find out. But you will be in love with Reese so I'm just warning you. He is just dreamy and you will be rooting for him.

Review by Lisa Kane

When Erin Carter and Reese Collins were teenagers, Reese suggested a pact. By the time they turned 30, (their birthdays are two weeks and five days apart) if they were still single, they would marry.

They remained best friends through thick and thin.
He's the carrots to her peas.

We had decided, after we'd watched Forest Gump for the first time, that I would be peas and Reese would be carrots. It was a kid's rationale that led to this decision. I was shorter, and Reese had reasoned that I had boobs (barely), therefore, he was the carrot.

Even though Reese moved to Dallas and Erin stayed in Philly, they stayed in constant touch. Erin saw Reese go through girl after girl, while she never could quite commit. Her parent's divorce soured her on love.

I may be cold, but I'm not unfeeling. I know what when others are happy and in love, they must feel this sort of bliss. But like someone attempting to jump out of a plane and mentally not being able to...or like a writer attempting to spit out a chapter but being blocked...there was something holding me back. Like my brain could complete it, but my heart could not get on board.

Now she'll be turning 30 in a few months and Reese is interviewing for a job at CHOP in Philly.

My mind wanders to the pact, and if he's thought about it as our thirtieth birthdays neared.

He's a neonatal nurse and CHOP is the best hospital around. He's been seeing the same girl, Renee, for a couple of years, but she's not the one.

After two years of dating on and off, she wanted a ring. And even though she made me happy and I think I love her, there was something holding me back.

The one he wants-well she's a Philly girl and he's going to get his girl.

And now, I sit in front of my laptop, an opened email sitting on my browser saying that he was coming to Philadelphia for a job interview, and was I free for dinner?

But Reese has his work cut out for him. Erin has him friend zoned. Can he ever get out of that trap?

Love can be quiet and patient. It can wait for the other person to be ready, while also laughing and spending time with that person.

Save the Date by Carrie Aaron.

First off, the cover is elegant and certainly caught my eye. I was excited to see what exactly Carrie Aaron has in store.

Reese and Erin have been friends for so long that their friendship is unbreakable… Or that’s what they thought. As their 30th birthday comes around, so does a pact they made years ago when they were 15 years old. In away, you could say these two swarmed around each other through the years, but always seemed to miss their chance. Now, with the big three O’h around the bend, Reese needs to find away to convince Erin that he’s always been her man.

Will Erin finally wave the white flag and give into her attraction to Reese?

As a avid reader, Save the Date just didn’t click with me. Trust me, when I say I tried. I tried to hard to love these characters and wanting them together, but in reality, I felt nothing. All I felt was a strong bond of friendship that should just be. Why tempt fate? Also, Erin’s constant tug-a-war between wanting Reese or keeping it strictly friendship was exhausting. And slightly uneventful for a reader. I ended up, reading other books and then coming back to this one from time to time. Even though the story wasn’t for me, Carrie Aaron did a wonderful job between point of views and the transitions.

I really enjoyed this sweet friends-to-lovers tale! My favorite part was Reese: he was so sweet and supportive of Erin - as her friend and as her man. I liked that she was the one reluctant to go all in on their relationship; she suffered from some disillusionment due to the demise of her parents' relationship. I wish Carrie Aarons had gone in to her relationship with her mom and dad a little bit more, seeing a bit more of them would have added to Erin's story in a good way (given us more insight). I loved that she was a lifestyle blogger and that the author acknowledged all the work that goes in to that. I also really liked that Reese is a male nurse - that immediately gave me Meet the Parents vibes and put a smile on my face. 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

I thought that I would have enjoyed this book a lot more than I did. I didn't connect with the characters, the romance, even the story and I love best friends to lovers romances. The writing style is very technical, more showing us than making me feel a part of their story if that makes sense. I thought the heroine was really immature and I didn't care for her all that much then there was the hero, forcing the heroine to do pretty much everything (marry him, love him, have babies with him), it felt rushed and well, that's it. It was okay but nothing that I'd ever pick up again.

Really, really, Really needs a good editor

I couldn't read more than just the first few pages. Changing tenses within a paragraph, can be confusing. Changing them two and three times in a single sentence, makes it impossible.
This may, or may not, be a great romance. I will never know. But, I do know one thing for certain. It is desperately screaming for a good editor.

I love a marriage pact made by kids, Especially when one actually is in love with the other. This was a wonderful fun story and he is totally swoon worthy because he works with tiny sick babies.
Erin & Reece are just like Peas and Carrots to each other, though they have been far apart now that they are in the same city things heat up. Love it!!

descriptionWe were freshman and it was the first senior party we’d gotten invited to, and we had foamy keg beer. Mitch noticed you, knew you were Morgan’s sister. He flirted with you, and you were gawking at him. I knew then, with that big green monster on my back, that I had to do something. That I had to have some kind of insurance policy, because I was in love with you. And do you remember what I did the next morning? We were sitting in your backyard, and I proposed the pact. Because I wanted to make sure, that after it all, after we grew and made mistakes and sowed our oats, that we would come together. Because I’m in love with you. I’ve been in love with you for a very long time.

Best-friends-to-lovers? Yes!
Marriage Pact? YES!
Romantic Comedy? YASS!!

Erin and Reese.
Peas and Carrots.

Carrie Aarons has created two character's that opposite to each other in every way possible. These two are as different as they can be. Two sides of the same coin, in a way. Reese is the boy-next-door all around loving guy, jumps headfirst into things, absolutely adores babies hence is a male nurse in NICU and loves being in a relationship even if there is no love on his part.
Erin, on the other hand, dreams of taking her Instagram Blog to new heights only if she pushed through and leaves the job she hates. She is a cynic who no longer believes in love or even the idea of it. She thinks everything through and runs away from commitment.

Best friends since childhood these two made a pact at the age of 15 where they promised that if they both were single by the time they reach their 30th birthday, they would marry each other and the time has come to honour that pact.

Reese wants to go through with the pact and get married and Erin is absolutely scared to even think about it.

Save the Date is a sweet friends-to-lovers romance with minimal angst.
Did I enjoy it? Yes.
Am I happy? Not completely.

The transition of friends becoming lovers is nothing short of momentous and a transition like that will be visible but unfortunately, I didn't see that. Even the first time they have sex, it was too mechanical, like they were having sex for the sake of it, something to get rid of. There was no awkward moment. Like I said, I got more of a friendly vibe from them than of two people who've been attracted and in love with each other.

For me, Reese and Erin lacked the passion as one would expect from two people who are in love. Their love felt more of the friendly kind than the lover kind. It was too comfortable. I mean, there is nothing wrong with having a love that is comfortable and familiar but had these two had that extra oompf factor it would have totally worked.

2.5 Stars!

Save the Date is Carrie’s next funny and sexy standalone novel. I have most likely said this about her last book but that’s ok. It just means her stories and writing is getting better and better. This is my favorite Carrie book!! And this is why...

Two best friends. One boy. One girl. They met at the age of seven and are total opposites but can’t stand to be away from one another. At fifteen, they make a pact. If neither of them are married by thirty then they marry each other. Through college and afterwards in two different states they stay the best of friends. Now, they are both twenty-nine and he is making his move. Physically and emotionally. He landed himself a new job as an NICU nurse where she lives, and it’s time to talk about the picky promise that was made almost fifteen years ago.

She thinks he is joking! He has to be right? They are best friends not lovers. She doesn’t even believe in marriage. Maybe not even love. She loves her independence but she also loves him even if he is crazy. Of course she remembered the pact but can’t believe that he wants to follow through with it. Yes. He is a relationship type guy, he is a catch actually but what if their connection as the best of friends is ruined by this crazy idea? Then what? They lose each other, the one person in the world who knows the other in the freakiest of ways. Shit. He knows when she is eating goldfish in bed. Over the phone. She doesn’t want to lose him over a pinky promise but what if?

Reese and Erin’s relationship is best friend goals. They are blunt. They tell you how it is. They will flat out say if you are being an asshole. They know each other’s quirks and love them. But, marrying each other? She is not so sure. He on the other hand is all about it. She doesn’t get why, he could marry anyone. His ex for example would marry him in a hot minute. Before she agrees to this ridiculousness, she has to go on a date with him. A real date. Outside of her apartment. Will she see what he sees after spending time together outside the friend-zone? Will she walk down the aisle to her best friend or will she run away from him?

I absolutely loved this story!!! Erin is fucking hilarious. Reese is just as hilarious but with a sweet side that evens out Erin’s sarcasm. It’s funny how he sees right through her. I thought their banter was the perfect amount of fun, flirt, sass, and bluntness. They really do love each other but can he show her that he is serious about moving to the next level? Oh, it’s oh so fun to read so do that to find out.

Overall...it’s a story about friendship, love, life, and letting go. I laughed, cried, and swooned! I mean, come on...he works with babies!

P.S. Erin has a kickass career she is building too even if I am not a shoe person. Lol

Quotes:

“You’re never a last resort, Erin. I thought I taught you that.”

“My keeper? Do tell. Sounds kinky.” I tried to program the remote again, but it wasn’t working.

“Could be weird.” He shrugs, leading the way out.
I agree. “It could be. Or it could be awesome.”

I really enjoyed this book. The premise is best friends to lovers with a bit of a twist and a good amount of angst. When they were fifteen years old, best friends Reese and Erin made a pack that they would marry each other if they were still single at thirty. I won't go into details, however I can tell you that Erin was a hard sell on the idea of marriage to Reese. While she did love him more than anything, Erin was afraid to ruin their relationship dynamic if they were to marry and things didn't work out. Also, due to her life circumstances, Erin did not believe in love or the fact that anyone could stay married indefinitely. Erin had her reasons for this attitude, and while I understood them to a degree, she was hard to connect with. For most of the book, it was Reese that saved every scene for me and that was more than enough to let me enjoy this book. And I should clarify that while it took me a while to warm up to Erin, I did love this book. And I absolutely loved Reese!

The trope of this book is romantic comedy. That said, while I did find myself smiling and laughing through much of the book, there were some serious moments as well. I would also like to say that I loved the occupation that the author gave Reese. He was one of my favorite male characters of this year! Reese is sinfully sexy, flirty, funny, witty, and a pure gentleman. He was not your typical alpha hero but he didn't need to be. I was in love with him from the very beginning.

Save The Date is written in first-person dual perspectives.

This was actually my first book by Carrie Aarons. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from her!

So , I won't tell you how the book ends because you can probably figure that out on your own. But I will say, this author did a great job of tricking some of the predictability and you will adore the last chapters. I did.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :)

This is a perfect light-hearted summer read! This story kept me laughing from beginning to end, and I could not put it down. If you are looking for something that is going to put you in a good mood, this is it!

As children, Erin and Reese were best friends. They were inseparable. They did everything together. As they grew older and became adults, they moved away from each other, each living their own lives, but still keeping in touch. As they both approach their 30th birthdays, they begin to remember a pact made when they were just kids, a pact to marry each other, if they weren't married by then.

Erin is a woman, trying to make it in today's society. She has a job, that she doesn't like, but has found a fulfilling side gig that makes her happy. But her personal life isn't moving forward. She is the kind of girl that doesn't believe in romance. She watched her parents' marriage fall apart, and as an adult that has made her loose faith in love all together.

Reese is a man that loves love. He enjoys all of the benefits of a relationship, including the companionship and commitment. After his last relationship fizzles, he decides to move back home, to the area he grew up in, to where his best friend lives. The best friend that he has always had feelings for, feelings that he has hidden from her for years.

Reese and Erin are just plain hilarious! Their back and forth banter, and self deprecating humor made this book one that will stick with me. I loved the entire premise behind the story, and the characters were so real, that I could practically see what was happening! Reese and Erin fit so well together, and their shared history only adds to that. This was a great story, just perfect for a summer beach read!
