Crude Possession by Maci Dillon is an MC novel that grabs you right from the get. It follows Callie and Malakai, two people who will go any limit to be able to live the life they want. There were parts of this story that were raw and a little graphic but written in a way that draws you in. I couldn’t wait to get to the end just to see what happened. This was a great first book to what I hope will be a continuing MC series.

Oh how my heart broke for Callie and all that she had been through. And poor Kai trying so hard to be his own man, do his own thing his way and sadly against his dads approval. This book was a good read and really wrapped you and put you into the story from the beginning.

While it is a a short quick read it is full of emotion, testing circumstances and emotion. This story does have some trigger issues so please use caution before jumping in but know it is well written and will pull you through.

this was so bloody good i need the next book in my greedy little hands right now.
the joining of two of my favorite author's Kathleen kelly and Maci Dillon was a brilliant idea . crude possession was a fantastic read i had to stop and start in a few places due to the nature of callies predicament with her abusive husband Randel . there were a few triggers there for me due to my own issue's with domestic violence And i could feel every ounce of callies pain and suffering at the hands of her pshycopathic husband and his brother Rance .who just happened to be the town corrupt cop. he knew his brother Randel was abusing callie yet didn't do anything about. he even abused callie in not only kidnapping her but raping her as well . once i was able to get through that part i was able to finish the book in one sitting it was fast paced it was gut wrenching it was beautiful and it was sacrificing. kai omg what a man . every girl needs a kai in there life . so loving yet demanding so.kind yet so greddy when it came to callie the way they love each other with a burning passion is amazing. Missy callies best friend who has been there for callie in every way she could considering callies home life is still there for her when needed and she is a great friend to both callie and kai .
the sacrifices he made to keep callie in his life by reluctantly joining his father's club . to keep callie safe was really touching considering he hates his father and the crude soul's mc but to keep callie safe he basically sold his soul to a devil . Malek is rude crude and mean and has a hidden agenda i look forward to know what that is . this was a great book i seriously can not wait for the second book .if its anything like the first it's going to be awesome. highly recommended to anyway one but bear in mind it does has triggers for those who have or are having domestic violence issues and rape.

Crude Possession: Crude Souls MC
Kathleen Kelly
4 stars

NOTE: There are definite triggers for those who might not care for heavy abuse and rape depicted graphically in scenes in this book. If you are a victim or do not care for this type of read then please do not click this book.

Callie is escaping from a brutal marriage -- Missy is going to help her get out. Its risky and it could cost her the life she lives but what kind of life is it. She needs to hide -- change everything and start over. Stopping in a diner to grab a bite and relieve some tension; a knight in shining armor may just have appeared - or a forbidden man. Either way this is not what Callie needs.

Malakai. A man who sees a broken woman and wants to protect her. In protecting she becomes property of the MC. He will risk everything to keep this woman safe. Even if that means risking his life.

This book moves quickly and is not as in depth as I wanted it to be. However I will say its a good collaboration between two talented authors as Kathleen is one of my favorites. I know that we will see more of this very intense MC family and in fashion of hers continue to be caught up in all of the members lives -- certainly with more drama and more protective men helping strong women.

Thank you for the ARC and the chance to read! I do recommended hanging on to this series of standalones and starting the journey with the Crude MC. Please do however remember the trigger warning. If you can handle it definitely click this one up.

Firstly, I applaud the authors on how they wrote and navigated such a sensitive subject! They dive deep and don’t skimp on what Callie has dealt with, that being said they also didn’t overdo it either!

I loved the instant connection between Kai & Callie because when you do meet your person you just know!!! Kai may be protective but he is still caring, considerate, and I feel like he pushes Callie just enough to show her he was serious and can keep her safe! Callie is a strong beautiful woman who even though she feels broken has a fighter underneath it all.

This was a wonderful kickstart into the Crude MC and although Kai & Callie’s relationship didn’t end on a cliffhanger but, there are still some unanswered question and looming threats hanging over the MC. So this does end in a semi-cliffhanger!

I really enjoyed this fast paced read. That delivered in spades and didn't leave you wanting for anything. This story had it all. Sex, violence and a love story born from a set of bad circumstances. The situation that starts this story is horrendous and you can't help but feel for Cindy.

However this book takes shape when Cindy aka Callie changes her life and it finishes with a whole new situation, a much better one. Callie meets Kai and thats when the fun really begins. It's a gripping story one that see a man take possession of a female and vows to protect her with his all.

This is a great start to what I hope will be a great new MC series. I lool forward to the next instalment.

A quickly paced and intense story, Crude Possession is the start to a new MC series.

The heroine, Callie, is on the run from her husband. She settles into a new town and meets Kai. Kai is a conflicted character, but feels deep, and connects with the shy Callie right away.

Overall, Crude Possession was a decent read. The beginning was a bit confusing with POV jumping, but quickly found a good pace and kept me intrigued.

As a huge MC romance lover this collaboration between these two authors peeked my interest. Callie’s story is a delicate one that they handle beautifully giving it the respect it deserves and allowing the reader the ability to feel what someone in this situation has to go through to take hold of their life again. The instant connection between Kai and Callie is electric that you feel immensely and will cause you to fall in love with this man immediately. Crude Possession has the true grit you crave and need in a MC romance along with a beautiful love story with a huge side of hot, steamy and sexy.

Fantastic read from two amazing Authors who have collaborated and made a seamless read!

You are quickly swept up into the story and find you acquire a real compassion for the leading lady Callie, rooting for her the whole way through the book that she gets her HEA. I'm not going to tell you if she does, you will have to read the book to find out!

As far as the HOT ALPHA goes, let's just say Kai is not your average biker, but boy he is still one you will want to sink your teeth in!

Great quick read that will leave you wanting more in the series! BRING IT ON!!!!!

What the...What the...What...

First off Mama Bear wanted to come out and knock some sense or other things into Randall. The man made me very mad. Just saying. Now that I got that out of my system...

Maci Dillon and Kathleen Kelly, Crude Possession is a 5+ Star read in my opinion. From page one I was captivated by the story. My heart broke for Cindy a.k.a Callie and I just wanted to reach into the book and give her a hug telling her she got this and everything will be ok.

Cindy a.k.a Callie leaves the only life she has known for years behind her and tries to start over new and is faced with many challenges. When she meets Malakai, son of the President of Crude Souls MC, something inside of her comes to life and she needs to decide if she is going to leave the past behind and move forward or let her past consume her.

Malakai, also has decisions to be made. His life has also changed dramatically since meeting Callie and a connection is formed between the two that he can’t deny. When Callie’s past resurfaces he needs to decide which way he is going to go - follow his heart or turn his back the other way.

The chemistry between Malakai and Callie was off the charts. Once Callie stopped resisting Malakai there relationship became too hot to handle. I loved Malakai’s protective side that he had with Callie even before he knew the entire story. It just made him that much more loveable.

Crude Possession is raw, emotionally packed and not for the faint of heart. There are parts of the book that can be touchy for some people. This book has mean, some sexy and scary MC bikers in it. What comes with bikers at times is death and destruction. There is a little bit of this and a little bit of that in this book. But oh how it makes the book that much more perfect.

I truly loved reading Crude Possession and would definitely add it to your TBR or one-click it today!

FLAVIA'S REVIEW

What a nice surprise...

I enjoyed this ride. It was a fast paced, filled with drama, hot bikers and so much more.

Callie aka Cindy, has finally had enough of her husbands abuse. One night after another brutal beating she finally decides enough and calls her friend Missy and she gets out. Finally she feels free and she is ready to start her new life far away from him.
On her first night as a free women she and Missy visits a bar and she meets Malakai. Malakai is the son of the president of the Crude Souls MC, but he is not a member. And he will never be a member. Its not something that he has ever wanted and he is happy running the bar for his fathers club.
The moment he sets eyes on Callie he knows he wants her, but he also sees she is different from the normal women he beds, but he cant and wont stay away from her.

Callie knows she's not ready for another relationship she needs her freedom and she needs to find herself again, be the women she was before all the abuse. But she also can't deny that she is attracted to Malakai. Will he want to be with someone like her, someone broken and someone with so much baggage. Can she be happy, can she allow herself to trust another man and hope that this time he is who he says he is.

This book was a fast paced filled with so much drama and so much triggers, that I think some people might have a problem with it. Some of the abuse Callie went through had me on edge and also rooting for her to finally catch a break. Ends on a bit of cliff hanger, so would like to see how this ends.

Cindy has finally had enough of her abusive husband and calls her bestie, Missy, to come and help her run away. They find their way to Coomera, where Cindy, now going as Callie, is hoping to start afresh.

When Callie meets Malakai/Kai, a hottie bartender, she straight away feels she can trust him and feels drawn to him, as he does to her, but it's not long at all before Cindy's past catches up to her, and Kai has to consider accepting something he has never wanted in order to help protect Callie... join his father's club, the Crude Souls MC.

I think this was a fantastic debut for this writing duo. I have read both authors individual work, but despite knowing their styles, I couldn’t tell you who wrote what parts of this book. To me that is a mark of a good collaboration. An enjoyable story; plenty of action, some sexy times, definitely drama and unfortunately some events that may make some people uncomfortable but that’s all I’m going to say about that.

I’ll be honest though and say I did think Callie seemed to, not necessarily get over, but maybe move on from what had happened to her very quickly. If I read it right, I think the majority of this book happened over the space of maybe a week or two which I felt was a little fast but other than that I thought this was a great read and I can’t wait to see where Maci and Kathleen are taking this series. 4.5 stars for Crude Possession.

I’ve never had the pleasure of reading a book by Ms. Dillon, but I am very for familiar with Ms. Kelly’s writing. The combination of these two authors writing is a mind-blowingly great story.

Cindy who now calls herself Callie was in a horrific marriage that she just had to escape. Her best friend sets in motion her escape to the little town of Coomera. Callie is painfully shy with no social skills to speak of because of her controlling husband. Her friend convinced her to go to a bar after they spent the day moving in to her new home. That’s when she encounters Malakai, the bartender and major flirt. He also happens to be the son of the President of the Crude Souls MC, which he wants no part of the MC life. He has this instant connection with Callie but knows she is hiding something. Callie isn’t too quick to trust people aside from her best friend, Missy, but she feels safe and protected with Malakai. When her past catches up with her will Malakai be able to keep her safe? Will his father finally get what he wants, for Malakai to join his club just to protect Callie?

I can’t wait to see where these authors take this series. I just love how they packed a lot of drama into the story. I will definitely be reading more books by these two in the future.

First book in a new series and its a decent start. Cindy is in an abusive marriage and after she's had enough she calls her friend to help her leave. She reinvents herself as Callie and her friend Missy helps her move and the first night in the new town they go to a bar where Callie meets Kai. Kai is immediately smitten as well as Callie but after literally just leaving her abusive husband she's gun shy. Kai's dad is the MC president and Kai has resisted going into the MC, but Callie's past finds here and he's given no choice to get help to protect her. There are several scenes that could be triggers for someone who has had trauma. The book also ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, not for Callie and Kai but for the MC. The MC story line will be ongoing to a second book, what is unclear at this point if Kai and Callie will be the focus in book two or if the authors will move to another member. My main problem with this book was how rushed it was. Even space the prologue and Callie and Kai meeting by a few months not a day or so after she leaves her husband. It just didn't seen realistic that Callie would jump into a relationship so soon after all the abuse she suffered. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Amy

I love the combination of the two Authors with this story!! Let me begin by saying this starts out rough, and could cause some triggers, BUT, it's also the story of friendship, survival and the ability to learn to live, trust and love again. Poor Callie (Cindy) has been thru HELL and finally finds the strength to leave, especially with the help of her best friend Missy.. Everyone should have a Missy in their life! She helps Callie start over and moves her away and gets her out there. On one such outing they go to a bar and there enters Malakai... OH MY (pants) talk about instant attraction. I love how he is with Callie, he knows there's something that has her scared and nervous, but he sees interest lurking in her eyes as well. When trouble finds Callie, Kai knows he will do anything to protect her, and makes a deal with the devil himself, his father. No spoilers, but poor Callie will have to face and deal with hell again, can Malakai and his father's Club save her and at what cost? Can Callie and Kai survive and be happy? This book pissed me off, gave me the awww tingle moments and left me wanting more.. I hope they continue and give us more of our couple and some stories on some of the bikers.. Well done ladies, well done

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, abuse, and heartbreak.

This is Callie and Malakai’s story. Callie is finally trying to start her life over. After all the abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband she needs a fresh start. When Malakai first sees Callie he can see she needs protection and he feels he should be the one providing it. She is hiding things but will not reveal them to him. When her past comes back to get her will he be able to protect her? Or will she trade on hell or another hell in order to get to protection she needs from her past? Can Callie stay and be club property for the protection or will she choose to go back to her past hell as to not be in a deeper hell in the present?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

A well written, fast-paced drama filled read that will tug your emotions along the way. Yes, it has triggers, isn't a fairy tale and probably isn't for the faint of the heart. The combined writing from these two authors made it easy to swept away in the storyline. On the run and hiding from a past of hell, Callie starts over little town of Coomera. Knowing she is broken, has baggage and little trust for the opposite sex she's wary of the attraction she feels for Malakai, a bartender she meets. Malakai feels the mutual attraction but knows she's hiding something. When her past catches up with her, Malakai goes out of his way to protect her even engaging the Crude Souls MC something he never planned to do. Loved the characters. Can't wait for more. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Reading the book filled me with so many mixed emotions. As much as I would love to say they were all good. I would be lying if I did.
Callie (Cindy) and Kai’s relationship from the very start was weird to me. After the trauma Callie experienced in per previous relationship. As much chemistry as they had. I felt like the relationship was forced rather than letting it flourish naturally.
From start to finish I was able to read within a couple of hours. At times I felt I was skimming over pages rather than really letting the words off the pages sync in. I give the Author major props for touching on a very touchy subject. She did it with style. Leaving you kind of amazed on how the book was written. I had high hopes for this book and I felt like I was let down. Although, I did not like this book. I encourage everyone to read it and to form their own opinion. -By Vanessa

This is a book about starting over and trusting again. For Callie, she gathers the courage to leave her abusive husband, and with the help of her best friend settles in a small town off the radar, as she knows he will come looking for her. Malakai happens to be tending bar the night Callie decides to stretch her wings and go out in public....instant chemistry! There is suspense (the threat of the ex boyfriend, trying to figure out good MC members from bad) but Callie instantly cures Malakai from his playboy ways. He essentially gives up his freedom for hers, which is where the next book will lead. There is a bit of grit to this book, so beware of triggers, but overall a solid read. Also be warned it ends on a sort of "happy for now' cliffhanger, so be aware there is another book to look forward to!

I love MC club books. Malakai is the boss of the bar but his dad is the Prez for Crude Souls. He want Kai/Malakai to be in the club but he wants nothing to do with it. Callie/Cindy is finally away from the abuse of her husband. It may of taken many years but she’s trying to start a new life in a new place with a new name, Callie. Kai and Callie meet the first night at the bar that Missy her best and only friend wanted to get her out and didn’t feel like cooking. They felt something and both were noticing it but it’s just to soon. Callie isn’t ready for another relationship or anything with a man yet. After everything she’s been through she doesn’t get it but when things start to get serious she has to open up about the pass that she’s had to go through. Malakai makes choices that come with a price.

Crude Possession follows Cassie, who has finally plucked up the courage to leave her abusive husband. Her friend Missy has picked her up and they've moved a couple of states to get away from him and his brother, a local police officer. Callie moves to a small town and meets Kai, a hottie bartender and known player. Kai, is completely taken with Callie as soon as he sees her. Kai's dad is the prez of the local MC gang which Kai has always sworn he will never join. I enjoyed the story but did feel that Kai went against all his beliefs and joined forces with his father, after only knowing Cassie as a couple of days, when he'd spent his whole life keeping it at arms length. Also there wasn't much adjustment for Callie after 10 years of abuse to happily be with another man. Characters were all likeable, just felt it was a little rushed.

Maci Dillon and Kathleen Kelly really bring to life this short story of one woman’s physical, emotional and mental abuse and how she finds herself and a man who will protect her.

It is a fast pace story full of drama from the opening page. It may have triggers for some, but if you can handle the subject matter and the happy ending with a twist, then it is a must read.

The characters are all well developed and the story line flows exceptionally well. These co-authors really know how to bring a gritty, drama filled story to the forefront of your imagination.

I am looking forward to book 2 in this series because it can’t just end there.

Highly recommended read.

Wow, a great, consuming start to a new MC series. This story had twists and turns and memorable characters. When Cindy (Callie) escapes her current life and settles in to her new life, she runs across Malakai (Kai) and the attraction is instant. Kai is closely aligned with the Crude Souls MC Club. When Kai sets out to protect her, the Crude Souls back him up, but can they all keep her and themselves safe? I was on edge reading this, follwoing along, moment to moment to see the story unfold. I cannot wait to read more!

This was a pretty good MC book. New to me authors, and MC books aren't typically my thing, but I enjoyed the story overall. It definitely left me wanting more of the story, which is unfortunate since I don't see the next book on either of the authors pages, so I hope its in the works! I liked how well Cindy/Callie was written, she's been through so much, she deserves a happy ever after with Kai. It was a really fast paced and action packed story, plenty of suspense and love to keep you turning the pages!

He is forced to make delicious that he has been able to put off for years. The past will always come back to haunt you it is how you move forward that can be rewarding and make life the sweetest possible

First book in this MC series and the first book I’ve read from these authors, and I wasn’t disappointed. Malakai and Callie are well written, interesting characters, with good chemistry. She finds hereself reinventing herself for survival and he does what he needs to to protect her. The flow of the storyline did feel rushed at times, but I’m curious about the other characters and look forward to the rest of the series.

she is abused very badly by her husband and it's to the point where their neighbor steps in. her best friend takes her away from the town and they change her name and everything. she meets a man who seems to have it all. he is a bartender and he offers to show her around and possibly some furniture for her place. this book is filled with action romance and some violence. but the book is awesome

How can I start this review? This book missed the mark for me. I'm not sure why because I love MC books, but I just couldn't get into this one. The story was well written and I love the fierceness of Malakai, Cindy/Callie's strength and determination to get away, no longer be a victim and find something better for herself.
Maybe it missed the mark because of the abuse Cindy/Callie suffers at the hands of (for lack of a better word) a worthless woman beater that is her husband.
