Inked Persuasion: Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.4 out of 5 stars 2,035 ratings

The Montgomery Ink saga from New York Times best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with a steamy new series.

Years ago, Annabelle Montgomery married not for love but for a promise of hope. When she lost him weeks later, she told herself she never needed those sentiments again. Only when she discovers years later that her new neighbor is her late husband’s brother, Annabelle finds she can’t quite shake the emotions she’s long since buried.

Jacob Queen vowed he’d never set eyes on Annabelle again. When they’re forced into each other’s lives once more, they realize that no matter how far they run, no distance can keep them apart forever. More than ghosts lay between them, and when they finally give in to temptation, walking away whole may no longer be an option.

Well, Hello neighbor!
4 out of 5 stars
Well, Hello neighbor!
What a great start to the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins Series. How do you go from hating someone so much to wanting them in the next breath, well that is exactly what happens when Jacob Queen realizes he's moved next door to the one person he never wanted to see again in his life, Annabelle Montgomery. You know that fine line between love and hate, well, Jacob finds out just how fine that line is because this man has it bad and I loved it! You wonder how can you go from hating someone so much to changing your mind so quickly, well what if the reason you hated them was because of a misunderstanding? What if it was easier for you to hate someone so you didn't feel the pain of loosing someone so close to you? Would that change things? Read this story and then tell me how you feel because I think Carrie Ann Ryan did a wonderful job with creating two characters that you couldn't help pull for. They had amazing chemistry even when they didn't get along so you know it was like fireworks once they did. If you have read previous Montgomery Ink books, you are going to want to add this one to your TBR because Annabelle is related to BOTH families....and you have to see how that all plays out! If you are new to Carrie Ann Ryan's Montgomery Ink World now is the perfect time to jump in and see why so many people love this Family. Happy Reading!! **I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with Books**

Returning home was good for him. He and Jacob develop a relationship. I liked them together. Annabelle's siblings are very protective. Her best friends are loyal and fun. This is a good romance.

Jacob comes back into town to take care of his parents. He has moved his law practice also and was trying to settle into his new home so he was dealing with alot.

Annabelle had married his younger brother, Josh, when they were 18 and they were best friends. It was a marriage on paper only and they did love each other but as strictly friends. Josh had Cystic Fibrosis and didn't have much longer but he wanted to experience getting married and who better to marry but, Annabelle, his best friend.

Jacob resentment for Annabelle turned to severe dislike so when he came back and discovered she was his next door neighbor he was furious.

Alot happens with this story but is is fun, sweet, sad at times and sexy. It also involves an ex wife and a crazy obsessed neighbor, kidnapping and a shooting.

I loved this story of Annabelle and Jacob!! She was his brothers best friend and widow. He hated her, not knowing that she didn't love his brother that way. It was giving him a wish and some peace. Once the truth comes out, their attraction grows. His parents already consider her their daughter. They try to keep things casual, but things grow serious, and that scares both of them. Thankfully they come through it together. Love this book and the whole Montgomery family series!!

I wanted to love this book, but it was more like ... Well, like.
It felt like several authors penned this novel, and none of them fact checked each other.
H doesn't like to wear jeans, but just a couple of scenes later, he's wearing them.
H's mom mentions on the phone that she has been keeping tabs on him through his staff, because they are tight with her, and then later H thinks about how he keeps his personal life away from his staff, and how he should tell his staff about his parents/mom.
h is in the middle of a tragic event, and all she can think about is 'saving herself' because no one else will. Yet she has three over protective brothers and a dad (and H too if she really thought about it).
h mentions that she and H used to be so close and such good friends, and then later she mentions that she hardly knows him, because she was always close with his deceased brother.
And the mention of ALL the other Montgomery's....this is my first time reading this series, so all the character names thrown in at the beginning of the book became a little overwhelming, since I hadn't read those books.
Overall, an okay book. I will only read the rest of the series because I'm a glutton for punishment. 🤣

    Inked Persuasion

    I love the Montgomery’s!!

Inked Persuasion is the first book in a new Montgomery spin-off series. The Montgomery’s in Fort Collins are now getting their own HEA’s. First in line is Annabelle Montgomery. Annabelle is her own person despite being in an over protective family. Her new neighbor moves in and happens to be the one man on the planet that truly hates her. Jacob is dealing with his own drama. His mother is ill and he has moved back to Fr. Collins to help care for her. The last thing he needs is to see Montgomery family members everywhere he looks.

Carrie Ann Ryan is wonderful at writing real, relatable characters. Her women are complex, strong, cheese-loving best friends. Her men are layered with tattoos and growls. Another excellent read!

What an amazing story. Jacob has moved to where his parents live due to his mother’s failing health. Never realizing he just bought a house next door to the person who he has had so much anger towards. Annabelle, works at her family owned company, now dealing with a new neighbor who hates her. This story is full of drama, suspense, excitement, sadness and emotional feelings. A beautiful story, of new beginnings and learning about oneself, and all is not as you perceived it to be. ❤️

Glad to finally meet more Montgomerys. The first book of this series is as awesome as the rest of Carrie Ann's M.I. series. The dynamic is there just like always. I found myself laughing and crying right along with the characters. I couldn't put this book til I read it cover to cover. Cant wait for the next book of the series. Amazing job yet again Carrie Ann.

Nice reading, lovable story. The only annoying thing, from my side, it is that these 2 guys look like are the only hard workers in the world. The author keep repeating it during all the book.

Although this is book 1 in a new series, it is a spin off from the other Montgomery Ink books and it helps if you're at least familiar with the idea that there are SO MANY CHARACTERS. That is alluded to by a charatcer in the story, so the author knows how overwhelming it can be.
I have always really liked that the characters that this author writes are 'everyday'. They have normal people jobs and normal people lives, hardly a self-made billionaire among them, which makes them very relatable. This book had all the makings of a great story but for some reason it never really got over ok. Sure, it was an enjoyable read and filled some time but it didn't grab me. I wouldn't read it again, and I don't feel that it's a book that's going to hook any new readers. However, this author is so prolific that there will be another great story just around the corner, so I'll just keep reading.
