- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2024Well I didn't know what to expect when I decided to read this story but I am so glad I made the decision. It's romantic but it has angst. The story contains secrets, lies and betrayal and that is just from within the family of Liam Montgomery. Liam Montgomery wow, what more can you ask from a heroine. He and his romantic love link find each other at a hospital of all places. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and want more from Liam and Arden. This was a good read and I can't wait to read another story in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2020WRAPPED IN INK is a standalone read with a happy ever after. There are sex scenes and colorful words if that is an issue for you. This story was not like I thought it was going to be. It takes a very serious look at lupus. The heroine, Aiden has dealt with the disease since she was 18. It is a terrible, terrible thing for a young woman to have to go through. Liam is the hero of the story. He is 35 when he discovers his mother's life changing secret. It just about destroys him. He is now a best selling author.
They meet in a hospital ER. She is in one bed because of a flare up and she is in bad shape. Liam was attending a wedding in a big hotel that had construction going on. A scaffolding came loose and fell on him. He suffered a lot of bruising and fractured his arm. They are alone in the room when they notice each other and they start to chat. Liam is being release so he gets her number. He doesn't call.
She is use to people not hanging around her. Her disease makes it difficult for her to have a normal life. She is always feeling unwell or just plain tired and people don't want to be around that all the time. They get tired of her saying no to invitations and slowly disappear from her life. She is not surprised that Liam never called.
She is out walking her dog when she runs into Liam and discovers he lives in her neighborhood. It is a bit awkward at first but they go for coffee and talk. It is not long before they are an item. She is having a good period as they get to know one another. But then she has a really bad flare up. Liam has to face the fact that she will never be cured. Now he must decide does he stay or does he go?
This is a very good read Lots about big families, forgiveness, acceptance and love. I thought the story line was really good. It may be this way in some families but I thought for a group of 35 year old men they acted quite immature whenever they got around each other. All the "flipping off" was a turn off for me in their behavior. But perhaps big families are that way and I have just never been around a lot of big families. I thought Bristol was way too immature and silly for her age. Just MHO, doesn't mean anything. I would recommend the book. It is a good read
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 9/13/2020
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2023Having binge listened to Carrie’s Promise Me series which is the love story of 4 brothers, I had to go back and find their sister Arden’s story. Wrapped in Ink differed from the Promise Me series in that it didn’t have a suspense storyline, but was no less enjoyable. Wrapped in Ink is a sweet story about finding love after a not-so-meet-cute. Each character struggles with something personal in the story and I loved that they were equals in that.
The story begins with Arden and Liam meeting in a hospital – Liam after being injured and Arden after having a Lupus flare. I really enjoy reading diverse characters and Arden’s honest struggles in life made me enjoy this story. I also loved that Liam refused to be pushed away and it made me love him so much more. They were so cute when they discovered a mutual connection they had to each other and their shared passion for books. While this story could have gotten heavy, Arden’s dog and both sets of meddling families added humor and some really funny dialogue to the story. I would also love to add that Liam had a surprising touch of Alpha in the bedroom which added a little spice to the steamy scenes and balanced out the sweetness of the story. Overall, though very different from her brother’s stories, I really enjoyed Arden’s love story and plan to continue the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2021Wrapped in Ink is the twelfth installment in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink series. In this romance, readers meet Arden Brady and Liam Montgomery. She is the youngest, with four older and protective brothers. He is the oldest with three younger brothers and a younger sister. Both are vulnerable. She due to her debilitating illness, Lupus, and he due to the recent discovery regarding his parentage. He learns that Timothy Montgomery, the patriarch of the clan, is not his biological father. This sends him into a downward spiral. Both Arden and Liam work and exist in the literary world. He as an historical thriller author and she as a behind the scenes researcher. Both are comfortable in their own skins and being semi-reclusive. Destiny brings them together through medical emergencies and stints in the ER. Will Fate be able to keep them together? What trials and tribulations befall them? You must read this book to discover their journey.
This is my first foray into Carrie Ann Ryan’s works. I found her writing style easy to follow and delightful. Her plotlines have several twists and turns keeping her readers’ attention. I appreciate her rich dialog and vivid descriptions. My one regret is that I read this book out of sequence and I think it would have been better to read them to appreciate the nuances amongst the characters and fully understand their backstories. Nevertheless, Ms. Ryan did a swell job with this book and I have added her to my list of favorite authors. Yea, Ms. Ryan!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2024A main character with lupus and secondary conditions was refreshing. Ms. Ryan does a good job of portraying the challenges of a chronic condition. I could relate to the main character’s challenges. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 30 years ago and face many of the same challenges as lupus. This book raises awareness that those facing chronic conditions want the same things as their healthier family and friends; it just takes us longer to do things and sometimes we just aren’t up to doing things we have planned. Ms. Ryan has helped raise awareness of what life is like for those with chronic conditions; kudos to her!

Wow! I learnt a lot about someone having lupis. Glad that Liam and Arden made a great love team. Loved the brotherly relationships. Both Liam and Arden had their challenges and had to overcome or deal with them. Great book. Looking forward to the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Loved it, and love this author. I always have this author on speed buy, lol! I tend to have the whole series already on pre-order and I haven't regretted it so far.
This book was amazing, I loved how this series has started off slightly differently to the others, and I really like that, so thanks Carrie! It has given me an insight into the whole "writing a book" industry and occasionally there are times/books when I wish I could review a book as I was reading it, and this was such a book - it was that good.
This book made me laugh, cry and was deeply emotional a good all rounder, I cannot wait for the next instalment, I just wish I didn't have to wait so long.
I would definitely recommend this book, and any other of the Montgomery Ink books - a Great Read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Emotional
A lot of emotions in this book. Liam is reeling from a shock to his psyche. Arden is in hospital again, knowing it will be her life forever. They find something in each other that will help them overcome anything life throws at them.
