Anthologies are amazing in my eyes, as half of the authors I love I've found in one of those, and Coven of Love is a Halloween Anthology just in time for my favorite spooky season. I only know one of these authors, but now that I've met so many new ones, I'm super excited for new authors to add to my list. I have to say that I really loved the idea that the stories are measured in caldrons for heat so you have a choice since we tend to have personal preferences, and there are all levels of heat in the pages. There are also all kinds of paranormal folks for our preferences as well. I'm not going to lie, I read every last story since they were short(ish) because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone plus I couldn't stop so seriously, there's something for everyone. AND it's for a very good cause so just hit those one click buttons for a spooky ride that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Let's start with the Anthology as a whole,  because I have a few things to say.  First,  I absolutely loved that the authors put together a spooky Anthology just in time for Halloween.  Anthologies are my absolute favorite way to find new authors and this one was a hit.

I was also so happy to find their cauldron rating system (spice level) at the front of the book.

Cauldron Rating
🫕 kisses/platonic touch (no sex)
🫕🫕 kisses/heavy petting (2nd base)
🫕🫕🫕 closed door sex (not graphic)
🫕🫕🫕🫕 graphic sexual depictions

This is the first Anthology that I've read where each authors detailed the Tropes in writing before each story begins.

The Curse of Summerour House -
(PNR/Small Town/College/True Love)
🫕🫕🫕🫕/ ⭐⭐⭐
This is the perfect combo of spooky  & spicy.  Without giving too much away,  I want to say that Cree & Zan's love is beautiful. The twist on a the traditional Rougarou tale was exciting & enjoyable to read.

Bewitched by Her -
(Opposites Attract/Contemporary/PNR)
🫕/⭐⭐⭐
This story was a bit ott, but very sweet. The cauldron rating is very accurate (a couple kisses, nothing graphic), and the author really did well building her characters. I honestly couldn't stand the hero, he was pompous and stuck in his own ways. The first date scene was hard for me to read,  because I wanted to smack him.  In the end he did grow up and apologize, which helped bring the ending together.

Creep it Real -
(Contemporary/Holiday/Small Town)
🫕🫕🫕🫕/ ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I freaking love this title, and I freaking loved the story too. Jericho is just the cutest thing ever. She is so quirky and completely, uniquely herself, that I fell in love with the character within the first chapter.  She and Roman make the perfect couple, their chemistry is off the charts. The slow burn is totally worth the wait, because dang it got steamy. So. Good

Wicked Heist -
(PNR/Vampire/Fated Mates/Contemp.)
🫕🫕🫕🫕/⭐⭐⭐
Sometimes it's hard to build an entire world in a series of books, and I was pleasantly surprised to find how well this author did in such a short story. Evie and Riordan know eachother before this story starts, their attraction is undeniable, and I really enjoyed how their characters came together.  One super steamy scene, but lots and lots of action and romance.

Choosing My Chosen
(Contemporary/Fated Mates/Instalove)
🫕🫕🫕🫕/⭐⭐⭐⭐
The first page had me cracking up, and it just got better from there. Thadd and Zoey met when they were just children, but their meeting didn't go as planned. Thirty years later, they come together again as Fated Mates, and have to move past what happened when they were children. Although short,  this story was sweet, funny, romantic, and definitely steamy. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Autumn Curses
(PNR/MC/Shifters/Fated Mates)
🫕🫕🫕🫕/⭐⭐⭐⭐
Shifters aren't usually something I'm drawn to when choosing a book to read, but this may have been my favorite story of the entire Anthology. Fenrir and Sophie are off the charts hot. Their chemistry is wild from the beginning (thanks Fated mates), but the added bonus of Shifters and witches not being allowed to mingle made it seem kind of taboo and even sexier. This is also probably the smuttiest story of the book, but was still a slow burn, which was so hot. This author made it to the top of my TBR.

One Night Standards
(Contemporary/Forbidden/Age Gap)
🫕🫕🫕🫕/⭐⭐⭐
This was the combination of Tropes I didn't know I wanted. A one night stand turns in to something more.  I love Rhett, he's patient, alpha, totally in touch with his emotions,  and sexy as hell. Cami is such a strong woman and i can relate so much with her character.  Lots of steam in the beginning of the book but kind of tapers out towards the end.

One Halloween Night
(Contemporary/Friends to Lovers/Virgin)
🫕🫕🫕🫕/⭐⭐⭐
This story wasn't at all what I was expecting, but I totally enjoyed it anyways. I loved the fact that the H was a virgin because that doesn't happen often in books these days. One Halloween Night is part of a larger series and CJ & Lil's story will conclude in a full length novel that hasn't released yet. A lot of the other characters have their own books. I don't think it's necessary to have read them before this, because  I didn't and still enjoyed the story.

The Curse Breaker
(Contemporary/BrothersBFF/Forced Prox)
🫕🫕🫕/⭐⭐⭐
I really loved the writing style, and the character development was amazing for such a short book.  Dana & Rob are so sweet together and when they finally give in to their feelings for each other it is perfectly romantic.  The curse added the spook factor that it needed to be in the Halloween Anthology,  and the end of the cabin scene was fantastic. This story was so sweet... but so freaking creepy.

I received an ARC of this anthology and read 4 out of the 9 stories. Overall I really enjoyed the stories I read and give the entire anthology 5 stars. Each story has a blurb, "Cauldron" rating (steam level from 1 to 4) and tropes included listed at their beginning. I found that extremely helpful if you're looking for something specific to read. I chose my 4 stories based on the authors that wrote them and having enjoyed reading stories by them in the past. I will give a brief review of each story individually and in the order they appear in the anthology.

The Curse of Summerour House by Shanna Swenson-

4 Cauldrons, Paranormal Romance, Small Town Romance, College Age Romance, True Love Conquers All. Written in 3rd person POV this story has a creepy camp fire legend feel to it. It starts off with the events that caused the curse in the 1700s and then jumps to present day. I liked that the main characters have a well established romance when this story takes place. We get a little snapshot of their lives and how they deal with the curse. The characters were fun and the romance was sweet and intense at the same time. Wonderful start to the anthology and the creepiest of the four stories I read!

Autumn Curses by K.O. Newman-

4 Cauldrons, Paranormal Romance, Biker Romance, Paranormal Shifters and Fated Mates. 1st Person Dual POV. Newman is my go to for motorcycle riding Shifters and Autumn Curses did not disappoint! Sophie is a witch struggling to make ends meet while running Occult Books, a shop she inherited from her mother. Fenrir is a shifter on the run who finds refuge in Sophie's shop. I liked that the pair are fated mates but the story still had a forbidden/slow burn feel to it. I absolutely loved all of the characters and would love to see more of them and Fenrir's clan in the future.

One Night Standards by Nicole Rodrigues-

4 Cauldrons, Contemporary Romance, Forbidden Romance, Age Gap Romance. 1st Person Dual POV. What happens on Halloween Night stays on Halloween Night... until it doesn't. I really liked this Halloween take on Mommy's Gone Wild. Camille is a dedicated single mom who allows herself one night of sexual freedom a year. Something about the ability to hide behind a Halloween costume gives her the courage she needs to take what she wants and finally put herself first. Low and behold her most recent conquest ends up being her daughter's teacher. When their world collide their chemistry is explosive and you can't help but cheer them on!

The Curse Breaker by Marla Holt-

3 Cauldrons, Contemporary Romance, Brother's Best Friend, Forced Proximity. 3rd Person POV. This story had a little bit of everything I love in it. Forbidden romance, only one bed at the "Inn", an unbreakable curse and lots of emotion. Dana has been in love with her older brother's best friend for years. When she gets caught in a storm and he sets off to rescue her she finally has her chance to risk it all for love. This story was short and sweet. It even had an epilogue that picks up more than a decade later!

Coven of Love is a charity anthology featuring stories from nine different authors. The anthology has got a Halloween theme and the stories range from a bit of Halloween love all the way to spooky paranormal romances. There is a trope and heat level for everybody. Overall, I enjoyed all of the stories - some more than others. They were all well written interesting stories that made me want to curl up with a blanket and a warm drink. If you love Halloween or even the fall season in general you are going to love this anthology. Plus, it’s a charity anthology so not only do you get awesome books to read you get to help out animals while you do it.

The Curse of Summerour House
By: Shanna Swenson
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

A quick story that ticks quite a few boxes for both a spooky Halloween story and a romance. Lucinda’s backstory is just heartbreaking. Cree and Zander are a very cute couple, they had a sweetness about them that was fun to read. I had two grievances with this story. The first is that the style of writing varies between contemporary and almost antiquated. The story is set in the present but certain words and phrases seem like they should be in a historical story. For me, the back and forth between these styles breaks the plot flow. My other issue is that the timeline of events kind of doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to spoil anything but I’m not getting how one supernatural event leads to a different supernatural event. To me, these plot points seem like they don’t go together. Maybe I’m just being too not picky, because I did enjoy the book, but connecting these two plot points made me say “Umm… huh?” Overall, this was an enjoyable read, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys their romance with a side of the supernatural.

Bewitched by Her
By: JD Park
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a sweet story! I usually like my books a little dark and dirty, but this was a pleasant surprise. Very Hallmark - Halloween edition. I absolutely adore Bridget, she is a breath of fresh air. Jackson irked me at first, but he definitely redeemed himself. The story flowed so smoothly I couldn’t put it down. This story shows that we all need a little magic in our lives! I would love to see more of this couple and all of the great secondary characters we were introduced to. I recommend this book of you are looking with sweet sprinkled with some magic.

Creep it Real
By: Melissa Williams
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is what a Rom Com is all about! Great storyline, the plot flows so smooth, the back and forth banter and chemistry is top notch! Jerri is a hoot! This girl’s cup of crazy calls to my kindred spirit! She’s so fun. And oh my goodness Roman is a yummy alpha roll of a book boyfriend. The Halloween-ish play on words are hysterical. Great book from start to finish, Melissa gives us a great romance with a lot of emotion and a touch of Halloween fun. If you love an Insta-love story that ticks all of the emotions boxes and leaves a sappy smile on your face - you’ve found your book!

Wicked Heist
By: Sutton Fox
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wicked heist is a great read with an interesting take on the paranormal. I like that humans and supernatural beings are living together out in the open. Evie is a strong likable character. She can kick butt and take names but also has a vulnerable side that I really liked. Riordan has a great mix of cocky alpha and sweet guy. He has no problem showing the world his power when needed but respects what Evie wants - it’s super hot! I loved their chemistry, even being fated mates they didn’t just fall into each other. There was a definite element of action and suspense and made for an intense journey. This was a quick read but the plot felt thought out and it wasn’t rushed. I’m excited to learn more about this interesting world Sutton has created.

Choosing My Chosen
By: M.L. Broome
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely loved every minute of this book! Zoey and Thadd are OMG hot! I loved the connections, the chemistry, the banter… it was all amazing! There was a lot going on in this book but it still felt thought out and wasn’t rushed. Usually with Insta-love books you get a lot of action but not a lot of emotion - not true for this one. I could feel the rightness between Zoey and Thadd. Ezra just about stole the show.. I would love to hear more about him and what comes next with everyone. High heat, high emotions, great characters and a satisfying HEA! An epic contemporary romance with the added spice of some witchy vibes, I absolutely recommend it!

Autumn Curses
By: K.O. Newman
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So. Freaking. Good! I did NOT want to put this one down. Kat is phenomenal at writing bad boy shifters with hearts of gold. This book has all the paranormal goodness - shifters, witches, fated mates, ghosts. Add in some MC’s a whole lotta steam and a touch of suspense and you have this masterpiece. Sophie is such a relatable character, she’s sassy and has no problem standing up to a big bad biker. Fenrir is OMG hot! Tough as nails but will do anything for his mate.. uh be still my heart! This book was just not long enough! This needs to be a full on novel so we can get into more of the scenes and see where these guys go. Great secondary characters, great plot… If MC’s and shifters are your jam you’re gonna love Autumn Curses!

One Night Standards
By: Nicole Rodrigues
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Get off my wall, dude. Get. Off.” Be still my heart! What a fantastic book! Start to finish I loved every minute of it! Rhett is the book boyfriend of all book boyfriends! Cami has every right to be reserved and so many reasons to have walls up. I love that Rhett just took it in stride and kept going. Strong characters, great chemistry, an interesting storyline- all the good stuff! The emotions were real, the steam OMG hot and overall just a relatable read. If you love a good love story that beats the odds then this is the story for you!

One Halloween Knight
By: DL Gallie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This teaser of a novella is just not enough for me. I love a good nerd hottie outside and sweet but alpha inside main character and CJ was all that and more! CJ and Lily are the making of an epic couple! This book is the beginning of a second generation spin off series by DL. I haven’t read the original series so these characters aren’t as dear to my heart as they might be for some other readers, but I will definitely be adding the original to my TBR to get caught up before this new series comes out. Even though it was short this story was well thought out and had great flow. It felt relatable and real and the chemistry was amazing. It was a college age romance that felt college age. I’m definitely hooked and can’t wait to see where this couple goes. Fans of DL will love the story and so will fans of contemporary romance with a bit of angst and a lot of emotions.

The Curse Breaker
By: Marla Holt
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Holy emotions Batman! For such a short story it sure packs an emotional punch! I was not expecting the spooky twist, but it was done extremely well. I loved the premise, it’s refreshing and original. For it being so short it still was well written and the plot was smooth. Dana is a likable character, I loved her sass. Rob is a great book boyfriend. I loved how well rounded the character was. I’m not usually a huge fan of brother’s best friend because the whole needing permission aspect totally bugs me, but in this case I liked how it was written and I really want to read Matthew’s story. Overall, a great contemporary romance with a pinch of supernatural that will keep you on your toes.

*NOTE* I will be reading each story in between other ARC reads, the date of when I read them & what star rating I have given will be included and updated with each story from the anthology that I read.

-Autumn Curses by K.O. Newman (5 stars), Read between September 19th-26th:

K.O.Newman was fast becoming a new favourite author of mine after I dived in reading her book, Reclaiming Psyche, in the February of 2019. Followed by Secret Omega, Christmas Nibbles Anthology (written with other authors), Malachai (like, oof!), and now most lately, Soul of the Chaos co-written with Miri Stone.

Her writing style has only gone on from strength to strength since my first read of hers (Reclaiming Psyche), which is reflected in her work 'Autumn Curses' in this specially steamy, Halloween Anthology co-written with other authors. She has moved on from the basic premise of what 'paranormal romance' is usually defined by, and has risen to the likes of established authors in terms of her steamy content, juicy storylines and tropes to drool over. If I thought things were collar-pulling hot in Soul of the Chaos, I was sorely mistaken! Autumn Curses takes things to a whole new level and the Halloween twist makes it oh so much better!

Not first to jump into the paranormal genre, K.O.Newman has once more done a brilliant job of keeping me focused, enthralled, entertained and gripped throughout her story. She continues to change my mind and outlook on both paranormal and now halloween-based romances, as her storytelling--as shown with this read--is just as enjoyable as my usual go-to tropes and genres. I was even kind of sad to be turning the las digital page of her story, I wanted more!

Autumn Cross is a shifter romance (which I have now come back to as a genre thanks to K.O.Newman), that will re-engage fans of the genre/trope, as well as hopefully bring potential new readers into the fold. The story is as amazing as its author, equally lovable, enjoyable and a thrill to get to know. Fenrir and Sophie were just a -chefs kiss-, perfect pair to fall in love with, pun intended, and I wouldn't mind a spin-off full-length novel with them in it. Just saying!

Topping it all off and for the best of reasons, if you wanted the definition of s.m.u.t, you've got it right here! I've read my fair share of books with steam and smut, with very few actually making my cheeks feel like they were on fire, but Autumn Curses lit those flames and then some.

Watch this space, K.O.Newman is going places!

Each of these 9 stories brings you a little bit of everything. This Anthology not only supports a really great cause, but each story is worth the read. Some stories are from authors that could be new to you. All have a little something to bring you in and keeps you turning the pages. These stories will have you wanting to read more from the authors. They all contain love, laughs, a few of them also contain hot & steamy times, they also contain everything you never knew you needed. You will have some alpha tendencies, but each will have something you want to read. Some have suspense, and some just a sweet read but no matter what you prefer to read you will find a story in this anthology that is just for you.

Before each story is a cauldron rating and a list of tropes that way if you don’t want to read a certain kind of story you are not surprised. Each author welcomes you into there love story and weaves you a magical story around that love. All of the authors in this book were new to me but I enjoyed them all.

I recommend these stories.

I love Halloween, and I'm a sucker for steamy paranormal romances. Fair warning: not all of these are paranormal, but all of these romances are centered around Halloween. There's even a cauldron rating before each story to measure steam levels, plus a handy trope list to determine which might be the best story for your taste. To top it all off, the proceeds from this collection go toward a very worthy cause, American Humane. How could anyone resist?

Each of these stories was well-written and delivered just what they promised. I was partial to a couple more than the others, but that only was because of personal taste. Still, this collection has something for everyone so I highly recommend it.

THE CURSE OF SUMMEROUR HOUSE by Shanna Swenson - What a great beginning to the collection! A witch, a curse, and curious college students in a small town who accidentally set a wild chain of events into motion. Creedence and Zander are adorable, but I also felt genuine fear for how they might end up after an incident at the local haunted house. Top notch paranormal romance!

BEWITCHED BY HER by JD Park - A witch named Bridget Bishop in modern-day Salem? Yeah, I'm sold! Bridget isn't the typical witch, more like someone with a sort of lucky magic about her. When she meets a handsome pediatric doctor, Jackson, the sparks fly, but is it enough to give a man of science a little faith in something bigger than himself?

CREEP IT REAL by Melissa Williams - Jericho moves to a small town where her family's got a pretty bad reputation, but she figures she can make friends by winning the Halloween house decorating competition. Her handsome neighbor, Roman, is also competing but volunteers to team up. This should be easy, except now she's falling for him which was definitely not something she wanted to deal with. Can she win the competition, earn the town's respect, and find love?

WICKED HEIST by Sutton Fox - Evie's got to steal the Vampire Queen's jeweled cuff or it's the end of the line for this skilled thief. The competition's stiff, but Evie's got an advantage she didn't count on - the vampire, Riordan. He's willing to help her if she'll just be his for one night, but can it really be that easy or will she end up hopping from the frying pan and into the fire and maybe losing her heart in the process?

CHOOSING MY CHOSEN by M.L. Broome - Zoey's a witch who still hasn't found her chosen mate, but there's no rush. She just got a great job at Charwood Industries, and she's making friends, so what's the rush? But when she encounters her boss, Thadd, she recalls him from her past; a rude little boy she once hated has now grown into a much more appealing man. Should she open her heart and help him save his business, or protect herself from being hurt again?

AUTUMN CURSES by K.O. Newman - Sophie's a witch with a failing shop in Maine, desperate for money to save her livelihood. She takes in a shifter biker, Fenrir, who's all too happy to help the lovely young woman. They're both attracted to each other, but shifters and witches are forbidden from mating. Can Sophie save her business, and will Fenrir throw away everything on forbidden love?

ONE NIGHT STANDARDS by Nicole Rodrigues - Camille is a responsible mom, but one night a year on Halloween, she lets loose. She meets Rhett during her annual Halloween romp, and they have a magical night together. Still, she leaves him in the morning because that's always been the tradition. This time is different. Rhett isn't willing to be forgotten, nor can Camille easily brush him off. Can one night bloom into something more for this special pair?

ONE HALLOWEEN KNIGHT by DL Gallie - Lily is on her way out for some Halloween fun with her girlfriends, although one of those friends brings along her brother, CJ. Lily doesn't mind, even though she's got her eye on another guy. CJ's super excited because he's had a crush on Lily for a while now. When danger strikes, CJ finally gets Lily's full attention, but will the gesture be enough to spark true love?

THE CURSE BREAKER by Marla Holt - Dana and Rob have both had feelings for each other for a while now, but they never acted on it before. While stranded together overnight, they join together at last, but a ghostly intruder bursts in to wreck the loving moment. Will Dana and Rob get a chance for true love, or will an old curse ruin their futures?

'Coven of Love' is a multi-author collection nine of Halloween Romances with something for everyone. Each story is a standalone with no cliffhangers. There are different tropes and level of heat. Some are paranormal stories, fated mates, brother's best friend, and many others. Each book has a cauldron rating from 1 - 4, the higher the number the higher the heat.

The books are well written with great characters, interesting plots, and wonderful dialogue. The stories are emotional, with some angst, laughs, secrets, family issues, passion, and plenty of steam. I enjoyed these books and recommend them to anyone who likes some Halloween with their romance.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A great anthology!
This is an awesome book to come out at this time of year, spooky paranormals by different authors that will set the mood for a spooky fun Halloween. These authors for me were pretty new so I really enjoyed reading their work. I liked the cauldron rating and that proceeds from purchase will go to the non-profit charity, American Humane. All the stories are pretty quick reads for the most part. I am not sure I really had a favor but I did like Dana and Rob. If you are looking for some special Halloween goodies than this is the book I would pick up. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

I am leaving my review for One Halloween Knight by DL. Gallie. This short story futures Lily Cox and CJ Knight. Lily and CJ are best friends but they don't want to admit that they have feelings for each other. The attraction between these two is intense but also complicated considering that there parents are friends. Will Lily and CJ throw caution to the wind and give what is between them a chance or will there parents get in the way. Read this little tease and find out for yourself what happens between these two.

These stories were great, they each had their own bit of magic to them. So well written and easily pulls you in. They are short stories that don't seem like they are short stories. There is strong chemistry between the couples in each story among with humor, passion, and more sinister things like jealousy. This is a must read.

Nine authors are together for a benefit for the Humane Society... gotta love those pets. Nine fantastic paranormal romances that you just can not put down. Found a few of my favorite authors, and also some new ones I will be reading more from. The characters are a variety of witches, shifter, vampires, ghosts, etc that tug at your heart with their quirky traits and abilities. Intense feelings and emotions, along with surprises and twists will keep you glued to the pages. The storylines have a Halloween backdrop as the characters meet and interact, bringing love and hope into their lives. Loved the drama and trials they went through which bonded them together even more until they found their HEAs. Great collection and great benefit.

This anthology was so much fun. With different degrees of "spice" there is a little bit of something for everyone. Pick your poison and dive into the story that suits you or read them all and discover something new. I discovered some really great authors, that I can't wait to read more from. I think you will too.
**I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

If you are looking for some short stories with a fall/Halloween theme, then this is the book for you. There are different genres of stories so there is something for everyone. Plus, there is some heat to some of these stories, so each story is ranked by cauldrons (with 1 cauldron being tame and 5 cauldrons being super hot). I think my favorite story was about the Halloween decorations, because I could relate to being in decorating competitions. I really enjoyed this book and it definitely made me excited about the fall season. Thank you M.L. Broome, for the ARC.

A collection of Halloween themed stories created for charity.
As Halloween is the theme running through all the storylines, they have been cauldron ratings in the blurbs to describe the heat ratings. It's a fun way to link them together.
With each story written you will get a varied writing styles and an insight and maybe find a new to you author to follow.

This is a very good PNR anthology of short stories by different authors. I enjoyed and liked reading it very much, the heat level goes from sweet kisses to open door sex scenes and there are multiple tropes and lots of HEA and HFN endings.

This is a nine book collection of short stories. Every one of the stories were well written and kept you interested. I loved the characters. All of the authors did a great job at writing a good short story.
