Lorelei Rogers excels at baking, so business booms when she starts a food truck specializing in marijuana edibles, even taking it to concerts and private parties. Despite the rules surrounding growing and selling, Lorelei manages a successful business, and she won't let anyone come between her and success. That includes the arrogant police officer with an overactive tape measure.

Liam Lane, a drug task force officer for the county, hates marijuana. He's spent his career fighting the drug and educating youth on its drawbacks. He's peeved that he can't crack down on weed anymore and sets out to make Lorelei's life as miserable as possible, hoping she'll quit the business and find a respectable baking gig.

Too bad he's also falling for her like a baked college boy with the munchies.

I had a very hard time deciding what to rate this book… somewhere between 3.5 – 4 stars.

It is labeled as a grumpy/sunshine rom com and I will agree it sticks to that for the most part.

Liam is a strait-laced, no-nonsense drug enforcement cop who lost a friend right after high school due to an overdose. He thinks all drugs are evil and doubles down on that multiple times in the book. So much so that it is a little hard to believe by the end, he is in love with who he considers a drug dealer. He’s honestly kind of a jackass the entire book. But he’s hot and it’s mentioned WAY too often in the book. Literally his and his partners nicknames are Hot and Hotter.

Loreli is a happy, savvy business owner, she’s a baker, owns a food truck and has a grow permit. She sells (now legal in her state), edible goodies laced with THC. She’s very organized with all her permits which I appreciate the author mentioning multiple times. Only goes to adult parties, checks IDs and is doing rather well in life.

Liam sees her food truck by chance one day and falls instantly in lust with Loreli, as she does him, but hates “drugs” so much he keeps insulting her, calling her awful names, and tries to get her business shut down by giving her petty tickets and fines. You can obviously see inside their heads per the author and what they’re thinking (basically that they’re both sooooo hot) but on the outside, Liam is hard to like. He treats Loralei awfully. He even arrests her at some point but stops to meet his mom with her handcuffed and they run errands together…. While she’s handcuffed. It’s definitely not police procedure by any means. Liam IS really cute with Loreli’s dog the entire story.

Basically they have these law breaking run ins where he’s trying to wreck her business, they date once or twice, then have incredibly graphic over the top sex which did not match the rest of the books flow especially with the weird awkward “dirty cop talk”, she accidentally doses him before they attend court together (from HIS tickets he’s giving her), then they don’t talk for a week or two while he’s working on a huge mEth drug bust. She takes his mom some pot brownies because she’s going through cancer treatment, Liam finds out and explodes on her in an incredibly cruel way. Liam goes on his drug bust, gets shot/stabbed/choked almost to death (it’s a very violent scene FYI), then realizes he loves Loreli and wants to marry her. They work it out and 6 months later they’re engaged despite him still hating what she does.

Again, it sounds like I did not enjoy the book. I did. There’s funny times, laughable times, happy times, sexy times and it's pretty cute. It’s just not really believable to me. Liam doesn’t seem like he’d ever be okay with Loreli being a “dirty drug dealer” and they’re romance and falling in love was so fast, it kind of left me wondering how and when they fell in love. From their handful of rude interactions? From their one date and night of sex? Because he almost died? There could have been a lot less talk about MJ and more development between the characters for sure.

Liked it enough to read it all the way through and wondered about the next couple.

This was an enemies to lovers grumpy/sunshine romantic comedy.

This is a new author to me and I look forward to reading many more books by her. I loved the story and characters. Highly recommend!

Lorelei Rogers owns a food truck that specializes in edibles called Lorelei's Blissful Baked Goods. Missouri recently legalized marijuana and she is taking advantage of the opportunity.

Liam Lane is on the county drug task force. He hates anything to do with drugs. His mother is going through her second bout with cancer and chemotherapy. He and his partner Chase Barnett are known as Hot and Hotter.

They meet at an event where her truck is parked and he fines her for a ridiculous infraction. He later looks up her event schedule and decides to harass her out of business. At another event he takes her away in handcuffs to bring her to the station. They stop at his mother's house and he then brings her to her home to care for her dog before going to the station. He is greatly conflicted by how he can be so attracted to a drug pusher. They end up hooking up. She later does something that enrages him. He is injured at work and she goes to see him in the hospital but he can't speak. They later reconcile and get their HEA.

This romance is fun, light and sweet. Liam and lorelei are complete opposites.
While one is an officer on drug task force, the other is a MJ baking food truck owner.
They couldn't be more opposite, yet from their very first interaction (or rather confrontation) they're immediately drawn to each other.

I love the fact that Liam and Lorelei are fighting, and that things aren't all rosy and sunny. It brings a real sense of reality to the story, and makes it easy to identify with the characters.
I have to admit that more than once I wanted to punch Liam, he really pissed me off!

But in the end, he and Lorelei do what every couple does: make concessions. And really, I'm repeating myself, but it makes the story so realistic!

This book is really well written, the dialogues are perfect, we laugh, we get angry... You really live with the characters. And even the secondary characters are perfect, bringing just the right amount of humor and support to the story.

Tori Ross is the master of the premise, and you can't get a more brilliant set up than a drug task force officer falling in love with a woman selling marijuana edibles...

When pot becomes legal in her state, Lorelei Rogers takes her skills as a baker on the road with a food truck specialising in edibles. Things are going great until Liam Lane arrives with a tape measure and a mission to destroy her business. Unfortunately, they've got the hots for each other, and watching the drama play out between them is pure romcom perfection.

Contact High is an enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy with high drama, high heat, snort-laughs, and characters I couldn't get enough of. It's another brilliantly written book by Tori Ross and a cracking page-turner that I read in a day because I had to see how it ended. It's got so much heart and swoon, and I adored the side characters as much as Lorelei and Liam. I cannot WAIT for book two in this series! Go get Contact High now. It's BRILLIANT!

Official Liam Lane is a cop who hates drugs with a passion, and therefore drug dealers, since his best friend died from an overdose at her first college party.
Kailee has a bakery business, and, in her goods, she uses marihuana. She likes everything legal, and she has all her permits updated.
It is a fight between them since the beginning, he fights her using pot and she fights for her rights, but, at the same time, they fight against what they feel for each other.
It was a hilarious story, but it also was very emotional for all the themes within its pages.
Just an amazing story that I highly recommend.

“Can I reach over and grab her hand? Can I hold a drug baker’s hand in a crab restaurant?”

Admittedly, finding anything with consistent cannabis use in the romance genre is rare, but this was just that.. and done very well. 2 🌶️ but the pace of the book (quick) and the placement of the scenes felt well balanced. I did subtract a ⭐️ because some of it was too unrealistic for the “real world” — an officer of the law (MMC -Liam) bringing an under arrest citizen (FMC- Loralei) to their mothers (Nola) for dinner because the station is *too busy with bookings*. I know nothing about being a police officer buuut know that’s not how it works. Definitely considering reading the second book in the series once it drops.

Love this!

So here’s the thing, what do you do when you run a legitimate food truck which happens to sell now legalised marijuana baked goods to the local public but an annoying but hit cop keeps writing you up for small infractions. The fact that he keeps showing up unexpectedly everywhere is one thing but the attraction is undeniable. Only problem is he is on the drug task force and one thing he can’t stand is drugs for any kind in his town.

Lorelei and Liam’s love story is a fun, surprising and steamy ride that takes you on their journey of hate/love from first sight.

Hope there is a book 2 soon with Chase and Kailee’s story.

I read this book voluntarily for an honest review.

A delightful romance read! Our main characters are Lorelei Rogers and Liam Lane. Complete opposites, these characters are sure to delight. Lorelei owns and operates a food truck, while Liam is an officer on a drug task force. He is completely conflicted by his attraction to her and makes it his mission to run her out of business. A sweet and funny romance. I loved the laughs that these characters provided on the way to a HEA! This is the first book I've read by Ross but hopeful there will be many more to come!

What a cute book! My husband is an officer and was on the drug task force, so I knew I wanted to read this as soon as I read the description!

I’m not into MJ or edibles of any sort, but I liked that it was used tastefully in the book. Despite Liam hating drug use, I loved that he accepted Lorelei and fell for who she was as a person.

I also appreciated that Tori included real life scenes of fighting that actually occur in relationships. It was nice to read something that is so easily imaginable. Realism is my favorite when it comes to romance, plus, the comedy was top tier 👌🏼

The novel follows a food truck that sells legal Marijuana baked goods to the local public. But a police officer keeps showing up unannounced. He is on the drug force and he can't stand drugs in any form.

This book had me giggling the entire time. Loved, loved the many euphemisms and nicknames for Liam. Especially liked Lorelei and her sassy comebacks and innuendos, too many to count just added so much character to this storyline. Also, Liam’s mom Nola was wonderfully sweet, with a no hold bars attitude towards her son, enjoyed her openness in fighting such a tough battle. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Lorelei has a booming business with her baked goods food truck, which specialises in marijuana edibles. Liam is an officer in the drug task force, who is determined to close Lorelei’s business down, and he makes her life as difficult as possible.
This is an easy to read story, which has angst, humor, witty banter, romance, conflict, emotions, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy addictive page turner.

I absolutely LOVED this story. I read it on Kindle Vella, chapter by chapter as the author was writing it, and I couldn't get enough. It was agony to wait for the next episode to come out because I just wanted to know what would happen next! Lorelei is the perfect balance of sweet and sassy and her reactions to Liam's antics are spot on believable. I found myself cheering for Liam to just give up his petty misconceptions and accept his love for her already! The ending was sweet and satisfying and left me wanting more from these characters. I highly recommend this book!

The main characters in this book radiated grumpy vs sunshine vibes!
The book follows a baker named Lorelei Rogers who runs a marijuana edible food truck in a legal state. She encounters a grumpy arrogant drug enforcement cop who doesn't approve of her business despite the state's legality of marijuana. So he searches for other reasons to take down her business, going as far as bringing a tape measure with him to check if she was abiding by food truck guidelines in public. Except now, he can't get enough of her despite his hate for the bud.

I typically read a lot of horror so this book was a nice change of pace and it was a fun read for me. There were points while I read this book that I had to leave the room so I wouldn't disturb my sleeping boyfriend with my giggling.. There's a lot of funny moments.
I also would recommend eating a special brownie while reading this!

TW: Mentions of cancer, violence toward a cop, physical violence.

This was a fun, light romance, though I did want to kick our MC Liam in the shins at first - he was so rigid in his beliefs!!
Lorelei was a lively and interesting FMC, but I didn't quite get why she was so invested in edibles.
To be honest, my favourite character was Liam's mother, Nola - I would love to read a story about her!

Police Officer Liam and marijuana baker Lorelei get into it over her food truck and choice of additives. The characters are terrific, with great backstories, chemistry and banter. The storyline has drama, illness, danger, surprises, revelations, acceptance, and romance. He just needs to ease up a bit and tell her how he feels. Great ending.

Emotional, Funny and Steamy
Lorelei owns and operates a pot-infused bakery food truck. When Officer Liam Lane sees her and her baked goods, he’s both enthralled with her and enraged by the fact that she’s “pushing drugs”. From there, their antagonist attraction escalates - and whoo-wee, does it get HOT! I loved this book - all the characters were amazing, the story kept me engrossed, and I laughed/cried/swooned in equal measure. A fantastic read - another great one by Tori Ross.

Hot enemies to lovers

I enjoyed this storyline. The characters were good and The heat was there! Phew!!! LOL

The downside to me was that there was just soooooo much THC/legalized "maryjane" usage and promotion in this. I would have enjoyed it twice as much if some of that was taken out. I am not against legalized usage, but it was like a promotional ad at times.

I might pick up the next book in this series.

I enjoyed the story but just over the top erotic takes away from the story. Not all the characters are likable such as, Liam he's way to judgmental and sexist. All of the characters are very crude and sexual harassment runs wild. I don't mind some but in this story it's constant. While I liked the story all of these other things ruined it for me.

Very cute premise, and the author did at least some homework to set it up. Too bad the author couldn't carry it off. The characters were completely unappealing, their chemistry made no sense at all, and the sex was icky and crude. This was part of a VDay anthology, but there was zero romance in this one. DNF
