Oh Brother! Box Set Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 15 ratings

This box set contains 'Crime and Periodicals' and 'Cocktails and Carpentry' by Nora Everly.

Crime and Periodicals, Book #1
In Green Valley, Tennessee everybody knows everybody, but nobody knows Sabrina Logan.

Sabrina has been hiding in plain sight for years. Living her life inside of books, dutifully helping her family, and hoping no one will notice her. So far? Mission accomplished!

Yet when sexy—and distrustful—sheriff, Wyatt Monroe returns to town with his daughters, he definitely notices the quiet librarian everyone else overlooks. The single dad can’t seem to shake thoughts of shy Sabrina. Without quite understanding the impulse, Wyatt makes his mission finding her again, so he can . . . well, he’ll just have to reckon with that later.

What Wyatt discovers is a woman who trusts too easily, but who’s afraid to live. Trust doesn’t come easily to Wyatt. But living? That’s never been a problem. And he’d sure like to show her how.

'Crime and Periodicals' is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, can be read as a standalone, and is book #1 in the Oh Brother! series, Green Valley World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

Cocktails and Carpentry, Book #2
Everett Monroe can't keep his eyes off his gorgeous tenant.
He'd like to put his hands on her too, but she's prickly, closed-off, and gives new meaning to the word disgruntled.

In other words, she's his perfect match and he'll do anything to make her see it too.

Willa Hill has finally left her teen runaway past behind and wants a fresh start—alone.
Men are nothing but trouble and she's had enough man-trouble to last a lifetime.
Too bad her irresistibly sexy, nerdy-hot landlord doesn't agree.

When their mutual yearning becomes a white-hot fling and passion crosses carefully drawn, albeit one-sided boundaries, Everett finds himself in love and Willa finds herself in a pickle.
Because, unfortunately, when she returned to Green Valley, her problems came too.

When the past she escaped crashes into the future she finds herself wanting more than anything, will Willa stay in Green Valley?
Or will she run away again?

'Carpentry and Cocktails' is a full-length contemporary romance, can be read as a standalone, and is book #2 in the Oh Brother! series, Green Valley World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

While I enjoyed book 1, book 2 is hands down my favorite of the series. This was my review:
Carpentry and Cocktails is one of those books that I devoured in a single sitting, and I wouldn't complain about finding time to read it again. It was so sweet and fun and just all around entertaining - everything I want in a good rom-com.

Everett makes this book for me. He is book-boyfriend perfection - tall, built, loyal, funny, artistic, and nerdy as all get out. Like gamer store owning, Dungeons and Dragons playing, Star Wars loving nerdy, and I absolutely freaking love him.

Willa is sassy and strong and independent to a fault. An emotionally abusive mother and a physically abusive ex-husband will do that to a woman though. Willa has not really had people in her life that would stand up for her, and her history has made it hard for her to stand up for herself. When things go sideways, her default is always to run. Finally tired of running, Willa is back in Green valley and ready to put down roots, but opening herself up to forming relationships with people isn't something that comes easily to her. Fortunately for her, her landlord, Everett, is nothing if not patient and persistent. I loved how he constantly found ways to be present for Willa and support her, without pushing her to something she wasn't ready for.

One note, if you're reading this one, you likely read Crime and Periodicals and have already met Everett and Willa, but their story may come across a little insta-lovey if you didn't read the previous book. This can totally be read as a stand alone, just know that these two have been dancing around each other for a while already prior to the start of this book. :)

Willa's backstory is heavy, but it doesn't drag the book down. Willa and Everett are both comical and endearing in the own ways, the side characters are charming, and there's just enough "drama" here to keep things interesting without turning it into a really angsty storyline. Willa and Everett's story was engaging from start to finish and and absolute delight to read!
