C. Deanne Rowe was born and raised in southwest Oklahoma. She has also lived in Nebraska, Texas and California. Iowa has been her home for over thirty years along with her husband, two children and their spouses, five grandchildren, the memory of her hero teacup toy poodle, Allie, and her French bulldog rescue, Kendell.

She worked for over twenty years for MidAmerican Energy on the Gas Trading floor, scheduling natural gas on the interstate pipelines. After retiring in 2018, she has learned to play the organ and continued writing, looking forward to publishing many more books.

    My heart went out to Kate. I can see why she was be standoffish. The little twists in her life was crazy. Im glad she did find some measure of happiness.

    Kate had tumultuous childhood, suffered loss as an adult and basically closed herself off. A chance meeting will give her the option to open up and let life in or stay on the same closed off path. This is a story of love, loss, grief, finding yourself and learning to love yourself. While there is romance in it, I did not think it was a "romance" book. It was well written and really drew me in.
