Nola Lewis needs to find a job, lose her boyfriend and train her cat, and not necessarily in that order.

My life is a complete mess. I have a sister who’s threatening to sue me, my boyfriend’s a douche who I should have dumped years ago. My neighbor’s goat is a freak and my cat is really Satan in a fur coat.

On top of all that I also desperately need a job.

When my best friend’s husband offers me a position in his company, I snap it up. What I don’t expect is to be working with the rude – and unfortunately completely gorgeous - man who sat laughing at me through a coffee shop window.

While I tried to pull my heel from a grate in the sidewalk, as it poured with rain.

I flipped him the bird while I stood glaring, but that didn’t keep him away.

Kato Black is not what I need right now, but I’m not sure my body agrees with me.

    To say I spent most of my time mostly laughing through Cocky Delight would be the absolute truth, this is a must read rom-com with a little suspense!

    Gah! I love Nola and Kato’s story so much!
    What a sweet and sassy read and
    I would be remiss if I forget to include Blanche, Pixy and even Derrick the chicken.

    While Kato may be the perfect bbf I think I might have a girl crush on Nola and her snarky mouth! Unfiltered and a bit of “Ruthless People”ish, I love all the popculture references!

    A less than pleasant first sighting, when she gives him the bird for being amused at her heel getting stuck in a street grate, and Kato's hooked by the spitfire. But he'll never see her again, something he laments even as he walks into his office and finds out who his company's new office assistant is. Yep, you guessed - that same spitfire. But, Nola's not about to give an inch to the gorgeous man who laughed at her, so Kato will have to take things very slowly with her. He will have her, though, it just may take him awhile to convince her they're meant to be.

    Nola's a sassy, no filter woman in need of a job, a different sister, and a different boyfriend when she first "meets" Kato. When she dumps the boyfriend and gains a new job, things should be looking up. But then the gorgeous guy who laughed at her turns out to work there, too, and he seems intent on starting something with her. She's not into it, into him, or at least that's what she tells herself. But perhaps some no strings fun is on the menu, as long as no feelings are involved so she doesn't get hurt again. Sure...

    This story is a delight indeed. It's fun and funny, and Nola is a freakin hoot. Really the only thing I didn't like is that she used the word "oriental" to describe Kato. As an Asian, that term horrifies and angers me. It's a derogatory term when used to describe a person, it's only for "things" like rugs, NOT PEOPLE. Aside from that, though, I liked Nola and her arrogant and delightful man, Kato.

    This is one of those stories that leaves me wanting more and not necessarily more of the story. I'd like more depth and development, layers to the characters and storyline. While it's a good story, there's just not much suspense or mystery. I'll admit that there are some serious laugh out loud moments and just not enough of anything else to balance the story out.

    I loved Nola and her way of looking at life. She didn't filter what came out of her mouth and if she didn't like something she told you like it was.
    Kato was smitten right from the first time she flipped him off through the coffee place window. I loved how confident he was and elect he acted in front of Nola. I loved when she called him Cocky he said Delightful. They were such a cute couple.

    Nola seems to have a whole lot of crazy going on. I thought my life was until I saw what our author created. Kato seems to be a patient man when it comes to getting what he wants. He’s also protective when the need arises.

    The author doesn’t try to hide which character would be proud to have a title of a book named for them. They are very talented and knows it. She’s also good at keeping reader’s attentions by adding in some surprises as well as two characters that you can’t help but hate. When she adds in some animals that will give you a few humorous moments - made it easy to picture the scenes as they unfolded.

    One way she shows creativity is when our main characters go at it – and not what you’re thinking either. Another way was all the humor she adds – you would have to be a funny person to get certain things right. I’m a tough audience because it takes a lot to get me to laugh. And then as we get close to the end, Ms. MacDonald decides to add in a twist.

    We have some secondary characters that if you haven’t read Cocky Bastard you may want to check out first – just remember it’s from a different author. Since this is a new author for me, I look forward to seeing what else she has to offer. On the whole, this story was a quirky romance that includes a man who owns the title “cocky” and a great addition to the club.

    This is their first sighting of each other. Her heel caught in the grate during the pouring rain and he laughed! He did t try to help, just the smug look on his handsome face. Image her disdain when he walks into her best friend’s home. He works for her friend’s husband. Now, she works for him too and if he thinks she’ll place nicely, he needs to rethink .

    If I could give zero stars I would! This book was so boring and hard to read because if it. I had a hard time connecting with the female main characyer, Nola. She was so unnecessary, always saying things so uncalled for. I think it was an attempt of the author to create a funny personality but she failed. She is not funny at all. In fact, this while book isn't either. I feel like the author was always trying to make jokes but they were always awful, no humor. I didn't laugh, not once. Plus, the development of the book is one of the worst I have read. That was the main reason for being boring, added with the poor excuses of jokes and the pokey main character. That is a zero.
    I dont' recommend this book at all.

    Nola & Kato’s story has it all. A whirlwind romance, too many to count LOL moments, an unplanned pregnancy, an evil twin sister and a psycho ex. In addition to this there is a satanic cat, a goat, a kidnapping and lots of hot steamy sex between Nola & Kato. With all this going on can they get their HEA? I would definitely recommend this book and give it 5 + stars.
