I anticipated a story about a girl weary of her life, who gets intercepted by someone I assumed was a policeman, only to discover he was an FBI Agent who ultimately saves her life. Simone Wright-Kerrighan's life has been challenging. She lost her parents in a house fire when she was a young girl, spent many years in a foster home with her biological sister, her soul sisters, and her foster mother, Mama Kerri. Now, she has grown up. She juggles three jobs, none of which are ideal for her, resides in a cramped apartment alone, and strives to complete her college education. Yet, her life as she knows it could transform in a moment. Believing it to be a stroke of luck, she found twenty dollars to fuel her car and stopped at a gas station. As she was leaving, she noticed the clerk waving frantically to catch her attention. The simple decision to fill up her car set her on a new path. Suddenly, amidst sirens, police, and gunfire, she found herself at the heart of a crime that would steer her towards a future grimmer than her present course.
FBI Agent Jonah Fontaine is hot on the heels of the Backseat Strangler, a man notorious for strangling his victims. In pursuit of a lead, he is directed to a car potentially harboring the wanted criminal. With sirens wailing and weapon at the ready, he stops a young woman, who unbeknownst to him, is the next intended victim. However, this night would deviate from the pattern. This book was a delightful read. It was refreshing to see that the romance didn't just stem from an initial sexual attraction but developed through overcoming challenges together. The characters, Jonah and Simone, navigate through their troubles to form a happy union. Alongside Jonah's issues with his brother, the story introduces Simone's sisters, adding layers of suspense to the narrative.
I will be reading another series by Audrey Carlan, known as the Soul Sister Novels. This series features a group of young women fostered by Mama Kerrigan, including Simone and her sister Sonia, Addison, Blessings, Genesis and her daughter Rory, Charlotte, and Tabitha. These women share a deep love for one another and regard themselves as soul sisters. Each has endured a significant loss that led them to Mama Kerrigan's foster home. Loved this story and would highly recommend this book for reading.

It has been a while since I have read an Audrey Carlan story, and they never disappoint Wild. Child is no exception. It has everything from sweet to sexy, perfect storyline, that special something that keeps you hooked, but the emotional aspect was everything for me. Audrey has portrayed a beautiful lead character who will take your breath away, laughs with her, cry with her and feel all of her fear!

Simone Wright- Kerrighan has had a tough life, she lost her parents in a house fire as a young girl, spend many years in a foster home with her real sister, and her soul sisters and of course her foster mother, mama Kerri, now she’s grown up us her life is still not hunky dory…. She holds down 3 jobs, nine of which are great for her, she lives in a shoebox apartment by herself and struggles to finish college. But her world as she knows it would change in an instant…. The choice to put gas in her car, would change the path of her future. Add sirens and police and gunfire she finds herself front and centre of a crime that will create a new future that is worse then her current trajectory.

FBI agent Jonah Fontaine, is hot on the heals of the backseat strangler, a horrible man who strangles all of his victims. While following a lead he is lead to a car that may be carrying the elusive criminal, with sirens blaring and guns drawn he pulls over a young lady who is his next unsuspecting victim, sadly on this night it wasn’t to be… As he pulls over the woman, he clears her from the vehicle before he is shot in the shoulder, but it is gorgeous Simone who takes his breath away. Now he has 2 reasons to stay in Illinois, one to find and catch this madman, and two, to win over miss Wright- Kerrighan.

As both Jonah and Simone come to grips with their misfortune and luck at the same time, the strangler takes a torrid turn himself, he doesn’t like losing and letting Simone get away wasn’t in his plans, now all of her family and friends are targets. Jonah is hellbent in keeping them all safe, but it comes at a cost to his own family. As each of Simone’s family come together it is clear their incredible bond ever as adults, but whether their bond can keep them all safe is another. In a fast paced, heart racing ending, nit everyone comes away unscathed, and it will forever alter the Kerrighan House family.

I absolutely fell in love with Wild Child! I got this book based off reading the blurb. As it began, it sounded interesting. As I continued to read it, it just sounded more and more interesting and as soon as I saw that the hero was an alpha (swoon) I was ready to one-click. I kept reading though and then as I got to the end of the blurb, when I read "The more I got to know the brooding, serious FBI man, the more I realized maybe it was my duty to save him." Well let's just say I knew this book had to be mine. And I just loved it! It was suspenseful, funny, sweet, hot, and heartbreaking. You will love Simone, you will love Jonah. You will also fall for all of her sisters, her niece, Mama Kerri and Jonah's family and his best friend. I really try hard not to give specific spoilers so do what I did and read the blurb for a little bit about what happens. After that definitely-one click. You won't be sorry. I can't wait to read the next book!
