I met a wicked older woman with seductive, amber eyes, lips that could kill a man, and a voice that brings me to my knees.
And she wants to play with me.
I know it’s nothing serious. I’m just a way to pass the time. I’m her entertainment, a fun indulgence. But she’s hot, and kinky, and experienced, and I can’t resist her. She gets off on my torture. She teases and scolds, rewards and punishes.
But as her demands become more intense, and her punishment becomes more severe, I start to love her. And hate her.
Because I don’t know if I can ever please her… but I don’t think I can live without her.
The Goddess is a standalone, reverse age-gap, femdom romance. Characters are polyamorous and have multiple partners outside of their relationship. Main characters end with a nontraditional relationship, but a happy ending. This story takes place within the AnchorX world, and can be read as a standalone.
This is a dark romance with some moments and scenes that may be triggering. See author’s website for detailed content warnings, and please read the author's note before proceeding with the book.
Lindsay is a bratty goblin who thrives on chaos, coffee, and astronomical amounts of chocolate. When she isn't caught up living in the world in her head, you can find her at one of her favorite bottle shops, a local craft store, or planning her next vacation to the mountains.
She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her husband and cat. (And her twenty-seven imaginary friends.)
Lindsay Murray created a world called Anchor X that i would love to live in. One of my wishes would be to meet The Goddess……and Lindsay just gave me exactly that with the ARC of this beauty. Reading her story was a a wonderful experience, one with it’s ups and downs. Dealing with trauma’s from the past,as well as struggles in the present. Finding a balance between dominance and submission. Accepting every part of both, embracing them, and loving it.
Becca’s gone through abuse só bad,it’s a miracle she’s still alive….and she knows Reuben and Jeff are the ones to thank for that. She may have had their help to get where she is now, help that made a world of difference, but everything she’s achieving today, she’s done herself. Ok,she needs her Master, but is that a bad thing? He is the rock that gives her the confidence to switch…to dominate that sweet boy she found. Finding a balance turns out to be harder than she thought, and she experiences feelings she’s not sure how to deal with…. But her Master and their friends won’t let her drown, right?
Benny fell for the Woman the moment he saw her. But she was out of his league….right? He struggled to make ends meet, taking care of his sick mother was hard, even with the two jobs he had. Luckily, there were the tips, but even then it was hard. Being allowed to spend time with this beautiful Goddess, being at her mercy, was the highlight of his days. She made him forget….at least for a little while. She hurt him só good, and he loved every second of it. Until the day it all went south……
The growth these two went through together, and seperately, was wonderful to see. Even if it was painful at times. Even if they had to find their way without eachother when they broke up. Because they needed that time, even if they missed eachother, badly. And when they found eachother again? That was so beautiful,i could cry…..
This is one of those stories that lingers for a very long time. And it’s a story i know i’m going to enjoy reading over and over, just like Ashes of Sin and Stardust!
I signed up to read this as an ARC and was given the pleasure to do so. This book was an emotional ride and not what I expected at all. I expected it to be another smutty book, you know?.. Sometimes those aren't very deep with the plot. This is not one of those. This book dives deep and there's mention of sex trafficking, mental health, heartbreak, abuse and well..be sure to check the trigger warnings on the authors website. It's a dark, kinky book where people have several partners. The chemistry is intense, there is not a lot of spice, as it's more about giving up control.
It was also a story of overcoming your past and being able to love yourself and have others love you too.
This book had me captivated from the beginning. The trauma that shapes Benny and Becca and their relationship was so realistic. They both hurt each other and truly had no idea what they were doing but somehow they found their way back to one another and formed a healthy dynamic that was fulfilling for them both. It was beautiful to see. So often, kink is portrayed in a glamorous light but this book was authentic; it showed the flaws and victories. It showed various avenues that actually do lead people to kink, and that kink doesn’t always have to be sexual.
What stood out most to me was that “dominant or submissive is a role not an identity.” You choose. All of kink is about choice and consent. This book resonated with my kinky soul.
Please don’t use this book as education but if you want to see a good representation of kink, this will interest you.

This book was absolutely not what I expected. I was expecting just a smutty erotica with bdsm. But what I got was so much more.
In this book, we follow Becca and Benny. Benny is a 19-year-old boy who is pretty lost in life and struggling with some very deep personal issues. He's living on the edge of poverty and barely getting by emotionally. Becca presents as a strong and dominant woman. However, behind closed doors she has a lot of personal mental issues stemming from a very Trumatic past. Benny and Becca meet at Benny's work as a waiter. They're instantly drawn to each other, and after a few interactions, they decide to meet up. This is where Becca reveals to Benny that she is a dominatrix and likes to have people submit to her. This begins a very suspenseful relationship between Benny and Becca. Will this relationship help to heal them or will it create it? Further divide? That's the beauty of this book, you never are quite sure.
This book deals with very heavy content. There is talk of mental health awareness, sex trafficking, mental and physical abuse, as well as many other triggers. But it is all handled so well, and is so deep. This is not the kind of content I was expecting from this book, but it ended up being so Informational. The struggles that Becca and Benny go through are very real and raw and emotional. You feel for both of them in so many deep ways. This is so much more than just a sex book. It actually made me feel like I walked away from it with more knowledge not only of the BDSM community, But of the emotional and traumatic things people can go through to the sex trafficking.
Honestly, the only thing that pulled me out was I tend to like Benny's POV's more than Becca's. For some reason to me, Becca's POV's seemed very repetitive as she constantly went back to her dominant asking for advice and advice was pretty much always the same. Overall I highly recommend this book. It was compelling and held my attention well.
This book mentions sex trafficking, mental health, heartbreak and abuse. It is dark and kinky with several partners. All of kink is about choice and consent. Be sure to check your TW as this book isn’t for everyone.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is into femdom romance with an amazing plotline.
I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
This is not the book I thought it would be. It is SO MUCH more! Lindsay Murray captivated my attention in the beginning and held onto it until the end!
The Goddess is one of the books in her AnchorX storyline, and explores the relationship between Becca and Benny! Becca is exploring her Domme side, and Benny is the sweet, adorable golden retriever type young man who falls for her.
There are ups and downs, and I was riveted the whole time.
I didn't want to story to end! I want to know what happens next in the lives of Becca, Benny and the rest of the AnchorX characters!
I received an ARC directly from the author and I am voluntarily writing an honest review. Thank you Lindsay Murray for the advanced copy!
Oh I don't even know where to begin with this! I finished this book two days ago and have been thinking about it ever since.
I love Lindsay Murray's novels, especially her AnchorX series. Her writing style is beautiful and draws you in immediately to the world. Speaking of the world, her world building is also fantastic and at no point did I feel lost or confused. I loved both MC's in this book and seeing how they dealt with their individual trauma separately and together.
The last quarter breakup was realistic, heartbreaking, and the best part of hte book was seeing how they got back together (since this is a romance novel, I don't believe that to be a spoiler).
This is a long book, but it didn't feel too long. The length felt just right and I wouldn't want to see any portion cut out.
This is a dark, kinky romance with polyamorous characters who each have multiple partners- however this is not a RH or why choose book. Additionally, please check the triggers on the authors website. While Lindays novels are wonderful and some of my favorites, you do need to be in a good headspace to read these books.
Becca has been through a lot and is lucky to be alive. Benny sees her as a goddess and his happy to be at her mercy. Will they be able to find their way back to each other? Loads of drama, emotion and intense chemistry. Great characters with lots of depth, sizzling scenes and intense chemistry. I liked it.
A story of self discovery, a tale of healing and choice, this book is entertaining but far from simple. Wonderful writing, complex characters and a plot as complicated as the human sexual psyche. Indulge yourself in a world of infinite choices.
When a young, some-what innocent Benny meets an older, experienced Femdom that just so happens to want to play with him. Benny can't resist her punishments.
Make sure you have your favourite play thing at hand because it's about to get so hot, you'll be aching!
I found this book extremely hard to read but not because it was bad or not my taste. It was written in a way that felt like I was being continuously edged throughout the entire book. The author almost teasing you right to the top then turning off the toy & leaving you to suffer.
I loved how Bec helped others in similar situations as her how she finds her way with help this book kept me so engaged I didn’t realize that I started it 05/18 at 9pm then finished it by 05/19 around 3:30 am that’s how good it was I’m happy that I became an ARC reader Lindsay knows what she is doing when writing I highly recommend this book 10/10 but please remember to check the triggers thank you 😊
ARC Review I had the pleasure of beta reading this book, & then ARC reading it too! I read a mix of the ebook and paperback. This book has a very sultry and entertaining storyline. It’s about the build up, the angst, and the sexual tension. It’s about power & control but most of all, it’s about ᴛʀᴜꜱᴛ.
There are definitely some spicy scenes in the book, & don’t expect some plain Jane vanilla. I may or may not have had to google a few things haha.

Both dealing with very different traumas, Becca & Benny are able to help each other in a way that not everyone would understand, but it really works for them. They are each exploring holding the power, and also giving the power to someone else.
There are under tones of learning to accept yourself, even if you come with baggage, and once you accept yourself, you can love yourself and others.
Both the MMC and FMC go through a lot of growth throughout the book. They start to realize what they really need and what they really want. Overall, it was a great book with deeper meaning than I was expecting (but still hot too lol).
I personally don’t mind age gap, but prefer the youngest to be at least early to mid twenties, so I wasn’t necessarily a fan of Bennys age (but that is just personal preference).

Thank you so much to author Lindsay Murray for my free ARC copy of The Goddess! If you loved this book, check out the rest of the series, AnchorX!
This is a dark, k!nky romance with polyamorous character (no cheating ) with multiple partners ( not an RH). This book made me fall harder for Lindsay's writing, I didn't take it lightly, reading this you realize it's beyond just fiction and fictional characters that follow along a script. A mapped out journey. Nope, you realize it's a guideline of some sort. Because everything, is based on researches and accurateness. The author wasn't, excuse my language , pulling things out of her a$$. You don't need to be knowledgeable in k!nk clubs, or poly dynamics , to realize everything is accurate.
Becca was an abused being and this version of her we meet " The goddess " is a complete contrast to the " victim " she was once. Now whether that being the reason behind her "character" or " her true self", in my opinion , it's subjective. Everything in life is impactful, anything can shift the tinniest thing within our beings. That can make a drastic change.
All I saw reading this is her overcoming obstacles, abuse and unfairness. A Phoenix rising from the ashes.
Now Benny, he was the sweetest soul, a cinnamon roll. Whose life wasn't as shiny nor easy. But he was what Becca needed, and she for him in return. A perfect balance that worked for both.
This book is heavy on plot, mental health, kinks, triggers, YOU NAME IT. With that being said , don't be a D!ck, this is not for everyone. Yet trust me , You can take it 😉

Thank you to the author for providing me with an E-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book follows Becca and Benny. Becca has gone through so much in her life that she is lucky to be alive and have Reuban and Jeff to thank for that. Benny works at his two jobs, trying to make ends meet, while taking care of his sick mother, and in the spare time that he has, he loves to do art. Benny meets Becca, and he instantly fell for her, but she is way out of his league. Until one day, he started spending time with her, and learning who she really is. Becca made Benny forget all of the things that he is going through with his life, she made him truly happy even though he was at her mercy, but that was the highlights of his days. She hurt him so good, and he loved every second of it, until one day it all came tumbling down.
When signing up for this book, I thought I was going to get a very smutty BDSM book, but that was not the case. What I loved most about this book was the plotline, and how this book is different than other FemDom books that I've read. Becca and Benny's relationship was so realistic, and I'm glad that the author wrote it this way. There was so much trauma between both characters, and we watched both of these characters grow together and apart. I found this book to be enjoyable and informative. The only thing that pulled me out was some of Becca's repetitiveness which made the book very long. I feel like this book could have been shorter. Other than that, I do recommend this book to anyone who is into FemDom romance with an amazing plotline.
I was honored to be an ARC reader for this book and so happy that I was able too!!
So.. this is my first book that has the topic of BDSM about it in it and I honestly was not sure what to expect. Going into it, I had an opened mind and wasn’t sure where the story was going to go and how much of BDSM would be talked about throughout this book, SPOILER it’s the big topic throughout. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about reading on it but it was definitely interesting. I like how the author explained the tools used and what for. I loved the story of Bennie and seeing him grow in many aspects. I also enjoyed Becca being such a strong female character as well as the vulnerability we get to see from her throughout the book. I also really enjoyed seeing the career development of both Bennie and Becca. The book didn’t drag but kept my attention the whole time. I really enjoyed the story and seeing different relationships unfold in this book. I enjoyed the writing style, the texts ‘chapters’ which really gave a way to be in the characters heads and the story over all was very interesting
Be warned though: this is not a love story and there is no happily ever after, no matter if you root for one anyways!
The Goddess was not what I expected at all. It was so much more. I was expecting all smut, which don't get me wrong, it's in there. It's incredibly spicy and sexy, but it gave me so much more.
It is a story of overcoming trauma, struggles of everyday life, empowerment, embracing who you are, submission, dominance, and trust. Please check trigger warnings as this book does contain pretty heavy content.
Becca comes from a background of sex trafficking and abuse. She has found healing in being submissive to her master as well as running a home that rescues other girls who have been victims of sex trafficking as well. She begins to find confidence and power in switching between submission and wanting to dominate someone and decides she needs someone to play with.
Benny is a 19 year old boy who has given up everything to take care of his mother. He works two jobs and struggles to get by. His whole world changes when he meets The Woman. He is willing to do anything to please her, even if it hurts him. Anything to forget his troubles just for a little while.
"He wasn't seeking my love. He didn't need me to love him. But he needed to love me."

I was a lucky ducky to get selected to arc review this book. So this is my honest & voluntary review! It was such a good read y’all. Lindsay knew what she was doing with this one! This was definitely a long read, and made me almost wish it was two maybe three books at sometimes but all together it was great! As always check trigger warnings!! This book touches on quite a futures, so please check them before purchasing. This book does contain BDSM and it’s not the cliché BDSM like we’re used to in a lot of books, which is absolutely awesome. This is for sure as smut read, but the smut doesn’t take away from the plot and I loved that. This book has so much happening. You have to give it your full attention or you’ll find yourself easily lost and confused like I did lol there was a few times I had to go back and reread some thing because I just didn’t give it my full attention, so this is not the author’s fault. This is my fault. 😅 Overall, I read this book a four out of five stars. If you’re looking for a reverse age gap, FemDom read that keeps you hooked, it’s right here!!!
The Goddess by Lindsay Murray is the story of Benny and Becca. This was an unusual story and not quite like anything I’ve ever read before. She meets him when he is her waiter. She’s utterly enchanted with him. He’s young, innocent, and appears to be just what she needs. But, he keeps his distance initially. Then, she slowly draws him into her world….one he isn’t really prepared for!
I didn’t think I would like this story once I figured out what it was about…but, this author is so good at keeping things real…and sharing the motivations of the characters! The shocking story of Becca that comes out later in the book is horrific. But, this is a story of survival and ends up being uplifting and freeing!! Unusual, but a very good read!
I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This book was not what I expected, but I am happy to have read it. I expected this book to be cover to cover with spice, but there was a lot more to it. Yes, there are lots of on page spice/BDSM style scenes, but the underlying tone focuses on mental health and how the BDSM lifestyle can help with processing life, dealing/healing with trauma, and doing more than just surviving day to day life. I really liked how the author blatantly says in the content warning that this ISN'T a how to guide to BDSM. This book is for mature adult readers, so please read the content warning because the book does contain heavy subject matter that may make some uncomfortable.
This book is all of the best things!! Reverse age gap, bratty sub and a dom with a heart of gold and purpose. We are following Benny and Becca through the story of their partnership. Benny is a struggling waiter until Becca invites him to her dungeon for some fun. He takes it in stride and he loves every second of it. I love thé growth both of these character go through. They start off as strangers and create the most beautiful trusting relationship. This book is filled with triggers and deals with some really dark matter. Please be aware of your triggers and check the list before reading.
Wow. I tend to enter erotic romances, especially those with BDSM elements, with the expectation of smut over plot which I honestly don't mind and even sometimes prefer. This book was not one of those, in fact in my opinion there wasn't a lot of smut. Don't get me wrong there are some pretty intense BDSM scenes but the meat of the book consists of an actual storyline. This book wasn't one of my mindless weekend reads, I took my time reading and taking in everything. I am so grateful to have been able to review this book and I definitely recommend 'The Goddess.' Please remember to read all warnings before proceeding with this book. Enjoy!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I received a free copy of this book, and I’m leaving this review voluntarily. Can I just say I am glad I was chosen! This book was so much more than I expected. Check trigger warnings as it does deal with trafficking, mental health, and trauma to name a few. I loved Becca she is such a strong FMC and I loved getting to know her and the different relationships she has with each of her men. And Benny I loved dear sweet Benny. I also really liked how she used past trauma and refocused it into something positive for her and how she also helps others turn their trauma into things that help them take back control. You will get all the feels with this read! It’s got the plot and the spice is fantastic you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you, Lindsay, for providing me with an advanced copy of this book for review 🥰
I am shocked at how much I enjoyed this book. I do not personally read much romance as I find it is often full of cliches or smut scenes that make me cringe but this story roped me in quickly. The characters are strong, their relationship struggles are relatable, their backstories are tragic. All the makings of a really strong story.
As someone who is not personally interested in this type of relationship dynamic/k*nk, I wish that the book had been a bit shorter, with less explicit scenes. However if it’s something that you are interested, I feel like it’s an appropriate balance. Even so, I enjoyed it throughout and never felt bored or inclined to stop reading.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this book for a review. I LOVED IT. If you are a spicy reading, this book is for you. I fell in love with the characters, and their story developed beautifully. Lindsay Murray is a talented storyteller in the best ways possible. The book flowed well from start to finish, always keeping my interest. Honestly, she had me hooked after the second page. I couldn't put it down. I hope to be as unapologetic as the main character Becca one day. This is my first femdom novel and oh boy it did not disappoint.
I received a copy of this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
First, let me say that this is the first BDSM sub/Dom book I've ever read. I mean, I read 50 Shades, but that does not compare to the story of The Goddess.
For me, the book was a little too long. There were times when I found myself thinking a particular thing could have been left out. Just my opinion, some readers crave every single detail, conversation, and description. It's definitely not a bad thing.
I absolutely love Benny, and his story is easy to relate to. It took me a little bit longer to really like Becca, but I got there! I realize the book is about the relationship with Benny and Becca and not the shelter work, but I would have liked a little more of that worked in.
Overall, I did like the story and will be recommending this book for other readers.

If you're looking for a semi-dark, FemDom, reverse age-gap read, look no further!
Becca's story is not an easy one to read. It's dark, it's borderline graphic, but damn if it doesn't make her into the fierce woman she is!
Benny's story is only a bit better.
These two are so friggin perfect for each other, it's insane. There's this push-pull between them that keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to the end.
And the emotions their story pulls from you?!? UGGHHH! I was up messaging the author until 2 am as I finished reading because I couldn't put Goddess down!
The Godess! What an awesome book. The BDSM in this book is the most realistic of books I have read thus far. The main characters Becca and Benny have such chemistry and heat it’s so great. Lindsay has done something I’ve hardly seen before with book. The domme and submissive dynamic was so lovely to read. I was turning pages left and right flying through it. My only critique was the book was very long and maybe could have been broken into 2 books. Otherwise I love the book. I can’t wait to see what else she writes and I will definitely be reading her other books.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was really good. Not just smut but it has backbone to it as well. A real story to get into. There were times I was a lost trying to figure out what was going on but figured it out fairly fast, it could have been my own distractions and not the book. But there is so much going on in the book it’s really hard to tell. You really have to pay attention. This isn’t one to just sit down with and mindlessly read for the weekend if that’s what you’re looking for. The character’s are complex and so are the situations, so you need to pay attention to keep up.
I received this book as an ARC, for my honest opinion from BookSirens.
If you are reading this as a stand-alone or are new to this author, I'm going to tell you spice is more medium to high, 3.5 to 4. If you are an avid Lindsayverse member, then the spice is top tier 5 level spice for her books and world. Either way, the spice is top tier, descriptive, non repeating, new and torturous scenes, and of course, this is a poly book, so there's multiple partners with whom intimate scenes take place.
Again, if you are new here, I welcome you to find yourself a seat and stay awhile. You will be drawn in, and the story will take you to new heights. There's just more. You start reading, you've seen the promos for this book you think you know what you are getting into, then the story just grabs ahold of you and honestly you feel the characters feelings. The undeniable needs from each main character. The where, what, and why's of how a power dynamic works because you can feel the pull of control with the need to have it and let it go. There is pain, suffrage, and angst. There is heartbreak and loathing. There is happiness so sweet you can taste it. There's an abundance of joy. There's twists you don't quite see coming. I will say, if you think there's a hole. Just keep going. It'll be plugged in a moment. This story really does draw on all the points needed in a good book.
If you are not new here, and you are familiar with AnchorX and the crew. This book answers so many questions you had. It gives you a deeper understanding of all of it, all the whys and hows. Again, you don't need to have read any of it to enjoy this book, but I promise if you have, you will love it even more.
This book brought personal heights and emotions to me during reading it. At times, I needed to put it down and walk away because it brought tears to my eyes. Another moment, I had to eat cold dinner because I couldn't stop or put it down. The dynamic and growth in these characters truly was an honor to read and enjoy.
Can't wait for more of all of them. Highly recommended!! For the life stylers out there picking this up, I don't believe you will be disappointed in the scenes. There are a few good negotiation and vetting practices shared, and a few examples of not so good examples. This is a fiction book folks, don't use it as a guide simply enjoy the ride.
For disclosure purposes, I was gifted an Advanced Reader Copy in lieu of my honest review. You know how when you find that one author that you know from that point on you will be buying every book that they ever publish? Lindsay Murray is that author for me. I read Goddess after having read and fallen in love with Ashes of Sin and Stardust. She has such a unique take on romantic literature. Please read the author’s note and trigger warnings. This book is not for everyone and it isn’t meant to be. There are dark themes in Goddess that are likely to make people uncomfortable or feel triggered or like they can’t finish the book. If this isn’t something that you’re comfortable with, this book isn’t meant for you.
I absolutely adored the relationship between Becca and Benny. They are two beautifully flawed characters who ultimately needed each other more than they realized. The relationship between Becca and Benny is unique compared to most of the romance books that are popular these days. They aren’t a typical couple and their relationship isn’t “average.” They are not monogamous but do respect each other’s boundaries and limits.
I feel like Benny was an unintentionally relatable character for me, specifically. There are things that Benny finds out about himself in the end that happened to me as well that I had never seen an author describe well from a victim standpoint. That’s something that Lindsay Murray does exceptionally well, especially in the Goddess. She creates characters with depth and history that have been through an enormous amount of trauma, some relatable and others that you hope to never experience. Her characters are real and genuine; they feel like they could exist in our world, and she gets you to genuinely wish that they did.
The twists that occur are unique and aren’t ones that you would expect, but they do fit the book and are real-world problems. The characters in Goddess struggle, but they don’t struggle pointlessly. Some authors will create a problem that isn’t relevant or feels ridiculous for the characters but Becca and Benny’s struggles are life. They are genuine and they make sense for the characters. It is a lengthy book. I think that she could have potentially split the book into two with the sequence of events that happened. I feel like the book had good pacing up until maybe the last 8 or 9 chapters. That’s where I felt myself pulling away and starting to drift a bit. I started to lose focus and have some drag. I think that ultimately they could have been shortened and potentially had 2 epilogues.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Goddess. If you’re thinking of picking it up, I think you should definitely evaluate where you are on the BD$M spectrum/scale. If that isn’t something you are comfortable with, this isn’t the book for you. She doesn’t shy away from the content. The relationship isn’t your usual boy/girl get married, have babies, happily ever after story. They do have a great ending and they are happy in the end, but it isn’t THAT kind of story if that’s what you’re looking for. I highly recommend Goddess to anyone who feels they are comfortable with the type of story she’s written. Please give it a chance if this is something you’d enjoy.
