End Game: New York Stars Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 3,857 ratings

Top 100 in the entire Kindle store!
Book two now live!

I’m a curvy sports geek.

Liam’s a hockey god.

He’s way out of my league…

My brother’s best friend is acting really weird.

Flowers keep showing up. He sends me Cameos and concert tickets.

Then, there’s the job offer…

Well, first, there was the fact that he tracked me down to NYC.

It’s really complicated, okay? But so are my feelings for him. I’ve been ignoring them for so long that they became a wall I’m comfortable hiding behind.

Damn him and his sweet, hot, cute, dirty-talking self who has cherry-picked his way into every aspect of my life.

I’m not complaining… but there’s a problem.

Not that he’s my brother’s best friend. Oh, no. Liam Donnghal is a future Hall-of-Famer NHL star. He could have any girl he wants, so why would he want to make the wallflower his end game?

END GAME, book one in the New York Stars' series, is a standalone hockey romance.

She falls hard, he falls harder ~ Golden retriever hero, black cat heroine ~ Found family ~ Pining hero ~ Brother's best friend ~ Curvy heroine ~ Hockey god hero pierced for her pleasure ~ Band of brothers ~ Marriage pact.

Wow I absolutely loved reading this book. Gracie is seriously one of my favourite FMC. Her take no prisoners attitude blew my mind. Having read all of this authors previous books and having read about Liam previously. I really enjoyed seeing him get his HEA. This book has all the spice with a fantastic group of characters. highly recommend to those who enjoy a great romance with some really good spice. Like I’m talking WOAH spice level.

This is cute, enjoyable and quite steamy. The hockey romance genre is tough but this is well done and I enjoyed the characters. There are a lot of text conversations and they are good but sometimes hard to follow. I wish it was about 100 pages shorter and tighter.

When I saw this book was over six hundred pages, I thought it was going to be a drag. I’m so glad I was proved wrong. This book was perfection. Liam and Gracie were there for each other through it all. So heartwarming. I was sad when the book ended.

So the first part almost made me give up. It just wasn’t cohesive, if felt jumbled and patchy. Jumping between timelines and glossing over parts that could’ve been explained better but I stuck with it and I think after the author got out of whatever funk they were in at the start or changed the process for how they wanted to write the story it came together really well and I was invested. I wouldn’t say hooked because there were still parts that I felt like I was missing out on information important to the plot and it was still a bit jumpy but still a good enough read.

After falling in love with the previous books written by this author I was so excited to read this new standalone story. This book takes us into the hockey world following Gracie and Liam's story and even though I haven't read many hockey romances - I definitely will be now!! It grabs you from the first chapter and doesn't let you go as we follow the evolution of their relationship and the challenges each of them need to work through. It has all the feels and plenty of spice that makes this a fantastic book to lose yourself in. You will love what a fierce, determined and strong woman Gracie is and will without a doubt fall in love with Liam. There are brief appearances by some of the other characters from this authors universe and although you don't need to have read any of her other books to enjoy this one, I highly recommend that you do. I can't wait to read more about this hockey world and I'm excited to see what comes next!

Gracie is Liam’s sister from another mister…

They grew up together when Liam joined her family as a “billet brother”. She has 3 of her own brothers and then gained more than twice that with billet brothers.

These days Liam and Gracie are both mid 30’s and they both find themselves for the first time in forever in the same city as Gracie’s been living in NYC and Liam just got traded to The New York Stars.

When something develops between them (they’ve had feelings for years they’ve kept hidden from others and each other), there’s lots of people in their immediate family who aren’t happy about it… He’s part of her family even though he’s not actually her family. Family matters to him and he’s much closer to her family than his own.

Gracie is spirited and opinionated, and most of the men in her life (her brothers) consider that as being difficult, but not Liam…

If anyone is going to have her back, it’s Liam, now and always…

Gracie & Liam might be each others endgame…

Loved Liam & Gracie, and loved the start of this new hockey series! Can’t wait for another of Gracie’s “billet brothers”, Cole, to get his story next in Waiting Game.

This is my first ever hockey romance, and what a book to start on,I loved this book so so much, I am familiar with this author and some of the characters in this book so I knew before starting it that she would knock it out of the park and that’s exactly what she did.🖤❤️

This book starts out strong with touching on Liam's traumatic past. This book shows growth of not only Liam in how he faces his PTSD and just his general struggles but also Grace's in her standing up to her family and how she was treated. Although she was seen as a background character through her family's fame I was pleasantly suprised when she wasn't a wall flower, she had back bone and ALL the opinions and she expressed them. I loved their story and couldn't fault anything. I went through all the emotions, and had to stop reading because I couldn't see through the tears. This book is so well written!

    End Game
    New York Stars #1
    By G. A. Mazurke

End Game blew me away! Readers get humour, a family dynamic that can be found in households around the world and so much more. We get one of the best female character leads in Gracie Bukowski; a true gentleman whose been to hell and back in Liam Donnghal and a story how being a celebrity isn’t always as grand as you think it is.

Ms. Mazurke has done a fantastic job portraying what sports celebrities, actually any celebrity has to deal with once they are “caught” in the limelight. Liam has had a rough time after the kidnapping….therapy and staying out of the limelight are just a few of the things he has to deal with. Liam knows that there is one person who can help him, who can listen to him and not be judgemental, who cares about how “he’ is doing and that person is Gracie Bukowski.

Years of what could be tantamount to emotional abuse has had Gracie keeping as far away from her family as possible. First across county, then moving to New York has helped…now though now she is in the same city as Liam and all it takes is one look at him for her to know he needs her.

For years feelings have been hidden between these two and now they get a chance to spend time together, to laugh, to commiserate and to realize, that they feel exactly the same way about each other. When that spark ignites, it’s like thousands of glowing stars reign down on them and maybe they will heal each other.

Between the Bukowski’s (parents & brothers) and Liam’s cousins the O’Donnelly’s we go from anger to dining with the mob and oh my, oh my …. I’m picking the O’Donnelly’s as the family we that can help these two!

I laughed, I understood, I hurt for Liam and Gracie! It was clear that their story had been written in the stars years ago and although it took them time to get here, once together, the healing and the loving began for each of them.

I can only give a sky full of stars in this review for Gracie and Liam, in all other formats it’s definitely five shining stars to the author and the characters. I’m looking forward to more from the New York Stars.

Claramente Liam Donnghal me iba a enamorar 😍.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, hockey and spice - Pucktastic

End Game is totally an awesome, amazing, and astounding start to this new series.

How to put into words that do justice to this epic story, is a huge feat, but here goes...

There is so much to love, the main stars of this book are the feisty intelligent Gracie and the darling superstar that is Liam.

I loved the background of the billet boys and the Bukowski family dynamics.  We meet lots of new fascinating characters along the way.

    The joyful moments were plentiful, some highlights for me were;

    •   the O'Donnelly family dinner
    •   Liam finally meeting his half-sister, Jennifer Valentini, and his adorable nieces
    •   All the hockey games, and references
    •   Gracie, and her crushing putdown of Bradley,
    and of course
    •   the magical love between Liam and Gracie and not forgetting the steamy, scorching hot scenes they shared.
    •   A special mention for Liam's journal and of course the text messages throughout.

Liam loves so hard and is completely appreciative of the soft, curvy woman that is Gracie, so I love him a little more.

I must mention '35' here too, as this is a magical number!

If ever a couple were made for each other, then these two are at the top of the tree. They are the perfect foil, understanding how events of the past have caused them so much damage, and working as a team to be each other’s safe place in order to heal and move forward together. (Adding, despite the mom and brotherly interference, though I was happy when the family reconciled. I adored how dad, Fryd, supported his 'golden girlie'.)

I could go on for reams, but all I'm going to say in conclusion, is go grab this and enjoy the 5 star ride.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Hockey Romance should be!
Reviewed in the United States on 15 September 2023

This is one of the most beautiful and endearing, “What if?” stories I’ve come across in probably forever and the fact that it exists in a beloved mafia world, with a small side of hot biker, I was in love within the first few chapters. This book is different than Serena Akeroyd’s rough and rowdy criminal vibes and shows us a softer side of love with two characters you find yourself rooting for the whole time, despite the obstacles.

End Game came as a surprise from one of my absolute favorite authors. When I heard she was writing a “Hockey Romance”, and we are a BIG hockey house around here, this book flew to the top of my Most Anticipated books of 2023 and it hit every single mark with a bullseye! I read this book and then promptly bought my friend a copy to read again together. There is so much passion poured into this story, with a heavy dose of Canadian pride, and I’m looking forward to future books where I can continue to cheer on the New York Stars!

Liam and Gracie’s story is one I’ll never forget. The remarkable bond these two have is everlasting and based on a love so profound, that both of them can’t consider being together because of all the “billet family” ties. Liam Donnghal has been billeting with Gracie’s family since he was a teenager, along with Gray, Matt, and Cole. Now, a high-profile NHL star, Liam has just about everything he wants out of life, and when he goes through a traumatic experience, it causes him realize there is something else he truly need in his life. And she’s always been right there in front of him.

Gracie Bukowskis’ brothers, Trent, Know and Noah, also don’t make their sister’s life easy, especially when it comes to her relationships. Not wanting to be around the disorderly pack of brothers her whole life, after a whimsical night that feels like a dream, Gracie takes off to make her own way. And even though she’d deny it, she left part of her heart with Liam Donnghal back home.

This book deals with some serious family issues, some good and some bad, and makes the characters very relatable. As always, the banter this author gives us is first-rate in wit, sass and hilarity, even drawing us in so that each intimate moment is significant, and you want everything good for Liam and Gracie.

I would give this book 6 stars if I could.
